Off-Neo Life

I just completed my freshman year in high school, which means I'm going to be a sophomore next year! Woo! Three years until I graduate. But that's my boring, school-life. You want to know about the exciting stuff, don't you?

Let's see. I love to write. Right now, I've got two or three "novels-in-process" - Island Girls, Night, and a short-story collection (which really isn't a novel, but it's a book, right?).

I have two kittens. I got them right after school started. I think my mom felt sorry for me because I had been ripped from my friends...again (I'm a military brat).

The girl, Smokie, is a gray-calico mix. The boy, Sylvester, is a black-and-white "Masked Avenger"!

My sister, Sarah, also plays on Neopets, although she isn't quite as obsessed as I am! She's 10, I believe, and she's one of the most angsty 11-year-olds I've ever met :o She plays only about once every three or four months - she prefers MapleStory.

My dad doesn't play Neopets {he also doesn't understand why I'm so obsessed with it!}, but he does have a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle:

My dad also enjoys playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl with me...but he NEVER WINS! :D If he DOES win, it's simply because he either: a. Cheated; b. I had a bad character; c. Cheated! So, there's really no way he can beat me in SSBB. If you'd like to CHALLENGE me...Just tell me :D I have Wi-Fi, and WILL DEFEAT YOU!

My mom doesn't understand video games at all {although she'll play WiiPlay with me - she's pretty darn good at Cow Racing!}, and she doesn't understand my obsession with the computer either! But she's fun to talk to - especially about kittens. She had about 20 cats when she was little. She can name them all, too!

If you haven't guessed, I LOVE playing video games. They're the BEST THING EVER! I very recently (April 5, 2009) got a DSi - and I love it. Yes, I'm a Nintendo Fangirl. No, I don't have a PSP, XBox, or PlayStation. No, I don't want one. Yes, I'll beat you in anything (as long as you tell me how to play ;))

I take great pride in my sites. I try to bring you the best quality (whether it be reviews, graphics, or a tutorial) in everything I do. Read on to learn more about my sites...

Ah, my first actual site. Started on June 28, 2009, it was originally a site with low-quality, "amateur" graphics. They were made with Lunapic, which is a VERY cheap site. It's sort of like the Photobucket editor, but a million times worse. Sometime in August 2008, I downloaded GIMP, and my graphic-making really took off. From icons to banners to even layouts, I learned everything there was to know about my program. Now, I've made my own site layout, and am scoring much higher on my reviews. Please visit it if you like Japanese-related graphics. Most of them have to do with video games (Final Fantasy, The World Ends With You), some are books (Warriors, Twilight), some are manga (FullMetal Alchemist), and, yes, there are some Neo-Related graphics, too. Mostly mood-indicators. Well, go anyways. And leave a comment at The XXI if you really like my site!

My second site, started just a few weeks after my graphics site. This was created during the "TNT will freeze you if you rate things" hoopla on the Help Boards. Do you remember that? Well, even if you don't, let me tell you: I was terrified I'd get frozen for having a review site! Isn't that crazy? I had never seen a review site before (well, I'd seen one or two, but they didn't seem that popular), so I didn't know how people would react. I got a lot of positive feedback from the HC, and went ahead with it. Now, almost a year later, I've reviewed almost 86 sites (reviews before June 2009 were moved to another page), and most of them were positive reviews. While the site's gone through several iterations (and layouts!), it's always the same review style - quick, honest, and to-the-point. Need a good review? Please, check it out!

Ah, my directory. I can't remember when I started it, but I do remember how hard it was to get listers. I was frustrated for a while - nobody seemed to want to be listed on a directory! Now, though, with many more sites listed, and more requesting to be listed every day. The next layout I put up will be one that I made, and I'm sure it will blow away all the other layouts I've made. At least, I hope it will. Otherwise, I may be in trouble! Anyways, if you need your site listed (the more you get your site out there, the more people will visit it!), please consider checking Midnight Secrets out!!

Once I mastered GIMP (with my graphics site), I realized there weren't many up-to-date GIMP tutorials out there. And if there were, they didn't cover very many things. If anything, they only covered how to create a blog (without the coding; just the image), and how to create a glitter. I decided to do something about it. So, after many screenshots, I finally got my tutorial up. And I received very positive feedback about it! Unfortunately, my image host decided to fight back one day, and I lost all the image. So, the tutorial's useless right now. When I am able to replace everything, I'll open it back up. But for now...what can I do?

When I first discovered how to make screenshots, I was hooked! Soon, I made my own screenie page, and in June 2008, I decided to redo them so they weren't as blurry as before. Although I haven't checked on them since September 2008, I think they're still doing pretty well. Check them out - some say they're funny, and some don't. Xweetox_the_Hunter This is my xweetok, Xweetox_the_Hunter. I know it's a REALLY bad name, but I was only eleven when I created this account. She was my very first pet. I painted her on February 5, 2009. She was painted Cloud - because her dreams are above and beyond the skies. She was the inspiration for my story, The Fall of Geraptiku.

She's a very finicky eater - that's why she's not going for the gourmet club. She's got too many things to do, first of all, and secondly, she doesn't really like those snotty neopets! But, I WILL enter her in the beauty contest one day. I just have to figure out how to draw her. If she's in the beauty contest...well, let's just say that she'd better win it, or she'll be REALLY mad!

Xwee also doesn't like my Chia, simply because he's been known to attack people at random. Xwee's the host of my directory, Midnight Secrets.

Shoyru_the_Flyer16 This is my shoyru, Shoyru_the_Flyer16. Yes, she has a horrible name, just like Xwee. But Shoy is actually quite nice, once you get to know her. She doesn't tie up Chia like Xwee does! She will one day be painted Pirate, if I recieve a Fountain Faerie Quest {Hint, hint, TNT!}, but if not...she'll probably be painted Cloud or Christmas or something like that. Something beautiful, fitting for a person of her stature.

She's quite shy, but she'll eat just about anything I throw at her {Kudos to you, Shoy!}, and absolutely LOVES her new petpet. When her old one, Snowy, an abominable snowball, was eaten by Turmy {Darn you, Turmy!}, she was heartbroken. So I rushed out to get her a brand-new petpet. And, since I'm collecting Advent Calender items....I just went out and spend 120,000 neopoints on a Snowbunny for her. Needless to say, Shoy WON'T be going back to the Turmaculus!

Hungry_Green_Skeith And so, we come to my skeith, Hungry_Green_Skeith. He was created ONLY for the Skeith avvie,

...which came out a few years ago. I was going to create-then-abandon him, but after seeing the boards clogged up with "OMG! I created a skeith! I'm gonna get the avvie then pound!!" I got sad. I didn't want to just abandon a random neopet {I've never abandoned a pet before}, so I just kept him. When I get the lab ray, he'll be my Lab Rat! And....I don't really have much to say about Skeith right now. He's not the most *talkitive* in my screenies.

Oh, YES! I forgot! He's the host of my graphics site, Shattered Crystals. I implore you to check it out. You'll find it worth your while!

Eliriyanna Ah, Eli. My first well-named pet (in my opinion). I was going to name her Elliriyanna, but somebody had beat me to that name.

If you're wondering, I took her name from The Great Tree of Avalon series by T.A. Barron.

She's a very helpful person, although a little vain. She'll eventually be painted Royal.

Relm_Arrowny Originally, this account was going to have pets named solely after characters from the game Final Fantasy VI, but, of course, that didn't happen. Relm_Arrowny was my first pet on this account. This account, mind you, was made after I thought I had forever lost the "secret word" to my main account, kittycatisginger18.

I suppose Relm's personality is close to that of the actual Relm. She's a little shy, but can be downright stubborn at times! I suppose she takes after her father, but I don't know if that would be the correct...er..."terminology" for that. After all, her father left Thamasma after Relm's mother died, in the fighting, I would guess, and never came back.

Relm's an angsty little thing when she gets right down to it, and she LOVES to paint. Painting is her "thing"...it's what keeps her going throughout the long, cold days. That's why I decided to paint her sketch - she's the second painted pet I own :)

xCyberAngelx xCyberAngelx came about while I was watching a movie about the "Dangers of the Internet" while in Health class {mandatory for all freshmen}. I saw the name, and I was a little sad to see that the name was already taken. But, nonetheless, I prevailed in seeing that THIS version of the name wasn't taken! For that, I am eternally grateful.

Angel loves nothing more than to stare out a window and wish that she was somewhere else - she finds her immediate family {and her extended family} a bit too stifling.

CelestialChere CelestialChere, as I call her, is the second pet of mine to be named after a Final Fantasy VI character. I was going to name her Celes Chere, but then...Celestial reared it's head, and I couldn't get rid of it! So...I still call her Celes, but Celestial is her full name. I firmly believe that Celes Chere's full name was Celestial, as well. Celestial just sounds pretty, does it not?

Celes is a strong believer in what is right, but not as strong as Angel! She's a true soldier at heart, so don't let her appearance fool you! She's as tough as the toughest Tyrannian; don't you forget that! But she's also very lovable. Just give her a chance. I'm pretty sure you'll find it was worth it!

Alas, Celes is also a bit egotistical, you see, so she'll reject to be painted Tyrannian, but I want to paint her Tyrannian so badly. That would go perfectly with her Heart-Soldier. Celes has other plans though - she wishes to be painted Faerie!

Icaarrus This is Icaarrus. I created her after realizing that I wanted an angelic name for one of my pets. That would be PERFECT, don't you think? So I named her Icaarrus, after the angel-being I see when I think of that name. Of course, in the video game Kid Icarus for the NES, the protagonist was a guy named Pit. But Pit is a weird name for a neopet, don't you think?

Ica is shy, and doesn't really like to talk. But she'll readily whip any rear that'll come her way, and will defend you until her dying breath. She'll eventually be painted Christmas, or perhaps Cloud. Something to match her mischevious personality, I bet! I wish I could have made "her" a "him", but that's the past. Anybody selling a Strange Potion?

AvalonCode After reading through one of my Nintendo Power magazines, I realized that I was going to buy the game, The Avalon Code, whenever it came out. That's what inspired AvalonCode, my Zafara.

Avalon will eventually be painted Christmas. In fact, she'll probably be the first Neopet I paint! She'll look perfect with a halo, I bet!

Avalon is also a loner. She keeps to herself, reading countless books, just like the Help Zafara. She often frequents the HC while I'm not on, and helps many people with their problems. If you ever have a problem come to her, and I promise she'll sort it out for you.

Avalon's the host of my graphics tutorial, Kitty's GIMP Tutorial. I suggest you check it out if you want to learn more about GIMP 2.4 {or 2.4.6}.

Chia_the_Changeable And, alas, my Chia, Chia_the_Changeable. I created him because I thought, Wouldn't it be nice to paint him Pea? So, I looked for the magical chia pop, and my eyes nearly exploded. 0.0 It wasn't very pleasant, let me tell you.

Chia's known for his tenacity, and his practical jokes. He's hung me from the ceiling, kidnapped Xwee, forced Shoy to drink a cup of skeith juice....and several other "unmentionable" things! Most of his "jokes" have been captured in my Screenies, which Chia just became the main star of. I'd steer clear of them, if I were you. You'll most likely get brainwashed by my Chia! He enjoys brainwashing the fans, for some reason. *unsure*

But, Chia can't escape the inevitable: If I can't find a "suitable" chia pop for him....He'll be zapped by the lab until he's something AMAZING!

Alkemmi She's my *new* uni, made, shamefully, for the sole purpose of displaying a soon-to-be-SC-layout on her petpage. I searched for her name on A Gift For Life, and when I found it (in the "wrong spellings" section), I just had to have it. Her name is pronoucned "Al-Kem-E," or for you manga/anime fans out there, "Alchemy."

My dream is to one day paint her Halloween or Desert (Halloween because the bandages remind me of the suffering of the Elric brothers, and Desert because it's purrrrty), which will require a lot of savings on my part, unfortunately...



On ShadowedBeing

SuikodenTierkreis And, finally, we come to the last of my pets, SuikodenTierkreis. He's a korbat, as you can plainly see, and he's named after another video game that I am anticipating. Suikoden, if I'm not mistaken, means "twelve" in Japanese, and "Tierkreis" means "Zodiac" in German. I was just going to name him Tierkreis, but an American beat me to it. Grrr. I don't like it AT ALL when people beat me to the names that I want the most! Grr!

Suik will be painted undecided-color later. I think he'll look great! Of course, Reines has her own opinions of Suik, but as most of her opinions are hex-laced, I think I'll leave her opinions out of this.

ReinesKoingtum This is ReinesKonigtum. It's a German name. It means Pure Royalty. I exploited my mom's German friend to get this name! *heehee*

Reines will eventually be a RoyalGirl Kougra. I'm saving up to paint her that. She's a bit on the snobbish side, considering that she's royalty, but nobody can really help that, now can they? ^.^;

Reines loves to frolic through all the flowers....Er. *cough* I mean, *shakes spongebob song out of head* look down upon her subjects, particularly her brother, SuikodenTierkris, for some reason, even though he has a semi-German name as well. I will never understand Reines. She's a bit self-centered as well.

LivingPulse This is LivingPulse. Eventually, she'll be a RoyalGirl Shoyru. I made her as an afterthought; I figured that LivingPulse, even though it's my username as well, would be an excellent name for a royalgirl shoyru. Unless I Come up with a different paint job, she'll be a royalgirl shoyru one day. I think they're rather pretty!

Pulse is the complete opposite of Reines. She's kind and considerate, and always puts the needs of others before her own. She once jumped in front of Reines to save her from Dr. Sloth's transmutation ray; something she's not likely to let Reines forget!

Although it looks like Pulse is the popular one, she's really a little shy, and is mostly ignored by....the majority of the population, I guess. Nobody really notices her. She likes to work from "behind the scenes", you see!

Fincayraa Fincayraa's love for others is exceeded only by my Neopoint intake - he loves to help out others, and would love nothing more than to attack the spammers who try to flame the HC. He enjoys coming to people's rescue - and one day wishes to be painted Island. He was named after the island of Lost Fincayra that stars in the "Lost Years of Merlin" series by T.A. Barron. You should read it - it's very good!

Wishlist

Oh, how I wish I had everything that I wanted! But that's not possible, of course. I do have a few things that I would like to have, though, which are listed below:

All advent calender items from Year 1 - Year 6. You see, I collect Advent Calender things (see my gallery!) because they're pretty.

Two (2) Royal Paint Brushes. I would like to paint my Peophin, Eliriyanna, and my shoyru, LivingPulse, royalgirl. But most of all, I would like one for Eli. She's the one that would look the best in it.

A Halloween Paint Brush. I would love to paint my uni, Alkemmi, with this paint brush. She's such a pretty uni ^.^ Plus, "Alchemy" is the way to pronounce her name, and Halloween reminds me of Alchemy, and the way the Elric Brothers lost their limbs (and, in Al's case, his body).

The rest of the Secret Laboratory Map. I have five pieces; I need the rest. If you have any extra pieces, send me a neomail and let me know, and we'll come to an agreement with the price :D

Extremely awesome CSS skills. Okay, okay, this isn't an "item" that can be bought. But I would LOVE to have amazing CSS skills - too bad I don't have enough time to hone my skills like Siddey or the owners of Futago have.

Q: OMG! How come you don't like TWILIGHT?! It's the bestest series everrrr! A: As I've said before, vampires are overrated, Edward's a sissy vampire, and Bella's a whiny brat. Sparkling vampires? Get real. It's not worth it. No way. I'm selling the two books I'll have (I was brainwashed; don't ask).

Q: What is your real name? I know it can't be "Kitty" because nobody names a human being "Kitty!" A: Nobody on Neopets (except my friends Sarah & Siddey) knows my real name. I'm not telling anybody else. They only know my name because of a lucky guess, mind you! Even if YOU guess my name correctly, I won't tell you what it is! Leave me alone!

Q:How old are you, anyways? A: I'm 14, soon to be 15 in August. Does that answer your question?

Q: Is your guild, Scarlet Memories, only for graphic makers? A: No. It's an anime/manga/Japanese culture guild. We don't just talk about those things, though. We talk about everything from Mr. Desk (our mascot) to the latest scams on Neo. It just went private because we had too many people coming and not posting at all.
