Ohoohoohoohoohoo... Looks like we got a new visitor. Welcome, guy, girl, whoever you are to my page. We're kind of under construction right now. Keruha just adopted me and she's going to be busy with a lot of thing. College, Manth, making Sai feel better.

Still, if you're up to find out who I am, you've come to the right place. Let's start!

if you think you know me
you might want to think again...

To start off, you should probably get to know me. It's a long story, so I'll start you off with the basics. Just don't fall asleep.

If you haven't suspected already, don't let the quad pictures fool you. By story and character I'm naturally an anthro. That's as in two legs, opposable thumbs, lives in a city. Nothing else. Yeah, I can't even turn into that big awesome oriental dragon me. Not that cool, huh? Just going to say that if you're wondering about my quad form, it is more like of my 'soul' kinda. At least, that is what we believe in Tuwaite.

What? What's Tuwaite? Well, you see... I grew up there. It's a small, lonely time capsule of island... somewhere out... in that.... large... large... ocean.

..............

I'm sorry. It's kind of hard for me to talk about. I miss it... I miss my mom, my dad... and my old friends... Even if everybody hated me because I couldn't live up to their dumb fairy tale. Argh! The elders were total sticks in the mud.

..............

Oh right, the fairy tale, I guess I should explain that. Well, you see these clouds on my skin right? I was born with them, and coincidently... or not... there was this old passed down Tuwaite fairytale. It was about a sweet, nice, gag-me little girl who got stuck in some washtub with goddess Kaiyo's duds and had a bad case of dye runnage. In other words, she had clouds on her butt. Can you guess what everybody thought I was incarnated from? From my date of birth to the date I... was taken away from the island, I was a golden girl. When I was little, I found it pretty cool. I was buried in gifts, got to eat gourmet meals every day, but then it started to get on my nerves. I mean, the gifts and food never got old, but the restrictions.... I didn't just have to look like her, I was supposed to be her! I was always scorned for things the other kids weren't. Caslean, you're supposed to make necklaces from the shells, not stomp them! Caslean you're supposed to forgive people for wronging you, that's what the girl in the fairytale did. Everyday, I would hear how I wasn't like the stupid girl in the stupid fairytale. Eventually... It just made me a rebel. I went out of my way to do my worst to displease them.... and then... I was taken away from them...

Okay, look, enough about my past. We'll get to it with my story. This section should be all about what I'm like as a person, so let's start. First off, if you couldn't tell, you can say I'm a loud kind of person. If I got an opinion, I'll express it, don't care if I tick anybody off. Don't take it the wrong way though. It's not like I go out of my way to start fights with people. I just... have opinions on things that I won't hold back on or lie about just to tickle people's ears.

Besides that, I also like to jump into action, because... I love action, danger, and adventure. To the point that I'll even... eheh... uhh... stalk people who are magnets to that stuff. Oh come on, it's not like I'm stalking them for other reasons.

Letsee... Other than that, perhaps you've heard people have called me rash. Don't believe them. I have thought things out plenty before I get started. Like the time I uh.... umm......

.................

Oh! Like the time I... Oh wait.... Hm...

Er... I'll get back to you on that, and the other things people have said about me being immature and reckless and slightly self-centered, don't believe them either. I'm sure they're just going on because I can't fit into their mold of what they think is perfect.

Letsee... To top it off, I'm quite creative and fun-loving. I love to remix music in my spare time, and Dash, my current guardian that is, let's me play for his parties sometimes. Hm... I'll have to tell you about him later. He is the coolest step-father ever.

And the last thing about who I am... this might surprise you, I am actually very curious. Not that I would be back in Tuwaite, but the city... the world of TV and vehicles. I mean, I've been here for a couple years but everyday I always seem to find something new about the world outside of my island. It's really exciting. I love learning. Well, except for the long boring lectures I get from my tutor about what colored fluids make what colored fluids with what colored dirt.

there's the rhythm, the music
but then there's the haters...

Like everybody else I have things I love, and things I can't stand. All my favorite things and least favorite things.

Music: Yeah, like this wasn't obvious enough. I love music, all the time. Ipods, mp3 players, concerts, cds. Name it, I have it. What's even better is to take these songs and give them my own twist. You don't know how good it feels to turn a song you don't like into something that's beyond awesome.

Shopping: Hah hah! Yeah, call me just another average teenage girl but I like dressing up. Trying out new outfits is the bomb, especially if they look really good on you. Don't mistake me for some teenybopper though. I don't do dresses with lace. I like what shouts 'life of the party'. Skirts, trick pants, jackets, spaghetti strap tops.

Bugs: There is something about bugs that is so utterly cool, especially if it's a grasshopper or praying mantis. I used to play with them when I was little. I loved watching the crawl all over me. Up my arm and down my shirt, on my nose, on my tail. Heh heh. Oh yeah, uh... childish obsessions over.

Adventure: Life is nothing without excitement. You can only live for so long so why live it crawling? Jump in! Take a hold of it by the horns and let it fly. I search for excitement, I love to explore, and I love to see the big bad guy taken down in the end. Sure, you could do that in a video game, but admit it. It's not the same.

Originality: You know how annoying it is to find something on tv when the next thing you switch to is what you just watched but with a bear instead of a dog. Really, is a little originality so much to ask for? I like it when people don't do what every body else is doing. It makes like interesting.

Foofoo: I'm not a big fan of super girly things. 'Nuff said.

Fairytales: Okay, I admit this might be residual from being stuffed into a fairytale of my own during my childhood. Still, I'm not a big fan of fairytales. I don't care how the gingerbreadman escaped or how sleeping beauty awoke from her long sleep. They just keep reminding my of the Girl in the Goddess's Washtub and urgh!

Control Freaks: The elders back at my island were control freaks. Hakuba is a control freak. I do not like it when people try to tell me what I can and cannot do. I mean sometimes it's within reason, but seriously, I know who I am and what I like to do. No is not an answer.

Snobs & Slobs: Okay, two things I admit, but hey, there's a reason they sounds alike. They both fail! Slobs are gross. Nobody wants to date a guy that has mustard stains running down his shirt and moldy pizza on their apartment floor. As for snobs? The only people who don't hate snobs are snobs themselves! I mean, how can you not overlook being talked down at because your shoes don't match the latest fashion trend?

The Cold: I hate shivering, I hate snow, I hate ice, I hate winter. Br... Snow is only fun for so long until your fingers freeze up. Not even those self-proclaimed heavy duty ski gloves can save you. The only place I like to be during winter is indoors where the heater is on.

Likes and dislikes aren't the only thing that make a person. Being human is about having goals. Stuff you want to have, see, and do. However, there's also things that we wish never to happen to us. I'll make mine clear as I have a few.

. G o a l s

Return Home: Yeah, it's pretty obvious isn't it? I want to find my island someday and return home. I want to see my mom and dad and old friends, and tell them all about the city and the world outside out island. Not that'd I want to move back in, but... I'd like to see them again.

Music Reknown: Someday I want my remixes to become famous. Even if only on the internet. Remixing is the pride and joy that I love to share with people. Especially, when it makes them happy too. So the more people, the better. To get popular though, I'll have to become better at remixing, so being better at remixing is what I working on.

Knowledge: I've been in the new world for a while now, but there are still things that I can't quite get or have yet to find out. What is a telegraph? Why do these people believe the things they do. It's just all so interesting, that I want to learn about it all.

Make New Friends: Alright, cheesy, I know. Still, it's never bad to have more friends. More people will be there to support you, hang out with you, and not to mention come over to your awesome parties.

. F e a r s

Guns: It... creeps me out a little that something only a few inches big could take a life with little effort at all. I mean, back in Tuwaite, you could run from weapons, you could run from being beaten up, and if you had the skill, it was fair game. Now with guns though... You can't run and you can't hide. You can only hope they miss.

Unpopularity: Yeah, the opposite of being popular. Sometimes I worry what people thing of my music. Are they just complimenting it to be nice? Maybe it's nothing better than a chicken pecking at a record. I shouldn't care what people think, I know... but uh... I do.

Embarrasement: I believe there is no worse feeling in the world. Utter humiliation. I try so hard to play it cool, but sometimes, I act like a goofball. Nothing is worse than being laughed at with nothing to swing back with.

it is that past
that gives us a character...

Alright, I've been dodging this for long enough. We all have a story about our lives and I have mine. It's a VERY long story, so we have it abridged for the most part right now. We plan to write it out in full soon though.

Now let's go.

:::::: .F o l k t a l e. ::::::

Once upon a time, there was a little draik girl named Caslean. She wasn't the prettiest girl in Tuwaite. As a matter of fact, she was one of the blandest, and as for talent, she didn't have much of it. Nevertheless, her kindness brought the village to cherish and respect her, almost like an honored. You see, little Caslean didn't need beauty for love, and she certainly didn't need talent for respect. The sole reason this little girl was so loved was because she loved back. She treated every person with the immense kindness that she would treat her family. If a stranger was sick in bed, she would pick flowers for him and wish him good health. If a woman lost her favorite blanket, she would find her a new one to replace it. As a matter of fact, Caslean was such a loving person that if she found somebody who commonly bullied her crying on the beach, she wouldn't hesitate to make them one of her beautiful seashell necklaces. These were her pride and joy, and even if the bully were to smash it, she would simply say,

It's okay, I can make another for you…

Needless to say, many of her friends were once enemies.

One day however, there came a terrible turn of ill fate for the little girl. An old friend had fallen deathly ill by an incurable disease. His body had become swallowed in round red mumps the size of clam shells, and his lungs rattled with every strained breath he took. The healers attempted everything they could to save his life. They gave him Juyo, mashed Kojita flies, and the life saving bell plant, but in the end, it was a hopeless pursuit. Nothing could save him, and it devastated Caslean, who knew this man so well. With no more hope left for the old friend, she swore to collect him one of the most beautiful but rarest flowers on the island before he died, the lotus flower. To this, people understood her sympathy and feelings for the old man, but they pleaded her not to. A lotus flower hadn't been seen in years, and to go searching for it would require exploring ponds within the dangerous depths of the jungle.

As we all know, the jungle is no place for a little girl. Many dangerous and poisonous monsters live amongst the foliage. As a matter of fact, even the foliage can be dangerous. Have you ever heard of the great Yuka Meat Snapper? One can swallow a man whole in a single gulp if they were to accidently step on the Yuka's limp snake-like vines. However, despite all these monsters, there is one monster that stands above the rest. He is the king of these monsters, and he resides on the highest mountain top of Tuwaite island. He is infamous oni.

To hear that Caslean, the sweetest little girl in Tuwaite, was going into this territory for a flower was horrible. The villagers begged her not to go. They cried. They dropped to their knees to plead. They tried to reason with her. However, nothing would stop her from getting a lotus for her dying friend. So, before the villagers could even look up from their bowed positions on the ground, she had treaded into the jungle determined and fearless.

The people thought they would never see her again.

Caslean searched the jungle high and low, left and right. She circled every pond she found twice and used her wits to hide from the nasty creatures of the jungle. With no luck, her search took her higher and higher up the mountain. Eventually she got so high that she could see her village just by glancing over the massive jungle. By then, her hope had run thin. Night was falling, and she sadly could only make due with what she had. Caslean started picking the flowers on top of the mountain, one by one, to form a beautiful bouquet. She picked blue ones, purple ones, red ones… And then something snapped a twig behind her. The little draik let out a yelp and whipped around.

Standing before her was a monster with blue skin and devilish eyes. Gnarled teeth curved out of his grin and two twisted, dragon-like antlers emerged from his skull. He was the size of 5 men, and his weight brought thunder to the ground. Like the stories that Caslean so commonly heard, he dragged a spiked club made of the indestructible iron.

What are you doing on my mountain, little draik? he roared.

I… I… was just picking some flowers? Caslean choked

Heh heh… Foolish little girl… the Oni bellowed.

The Oni pulled up his club and held it high in the air, but before he could smash down, Caslean ran. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, but no matter how fast she went, she could not outrun an Oni. He was after her.

She hid in the thick jungle trees, but the Oni only needed to uproot them. She hid in the caves, but the Oni only needed to stomp his foot to make rubble fall on her. Caslean ran and ran. Finally, she came across something very peculiar. There, on a ledge of the mountain, was a single large washtub.

Losing options fast, she hid in the washtub.

Inside, she could hear the Oni stomp and roar in fury. "Where are you, little draik girl!?" She did not answer. She tightly clasped what was left of her bouquet to her chest and sat in silence, fighting back tears.

Moments passed as the monster searched and searched and searched. He even tried tricking Caslean out of hiding by mimicking the voices of her loved ones crying for help. But of course, she was too smart to fall for petty Oni tricks. Finally, the Oni grew bored and gave up his search. When he returned to his den to gnaw on the bones of his last meal though, Caslean did not leave the washtub. She feared the silence was another Oni trick, and so she stayed where she was well into the night.

Upon daybreak, Caslean was still in the great washtub, she was tired and fearful that the Oni could still be outside. By now, the flowers of her wonderful bouquet were starting to lose their petals. They sat on the wooden floor all around her. She wondered, briefly, if she was too late to accomplish her mission, too late to say good bye. Tears welled up in her eyes, but just then, something very peculiar happened. The washtub started filling up with water. It picked the petals off the wooden floor, it picked Caslean off the wooden floor, and it climbed higher and higher. This washtub was the goddess's. Caslean gasped in surprise, but the little draik couldn't get out before fabrics, fabrics of all patterns and colors, filled the washtub in an amazing pageantry. The clothes caressed and swirled around her. They danced like minnows in the water and pulled Caslean along like a puppet. She lost all the flowers of the bouquet which she had worked so hard to make, except for one. Eventually, the display around her disappeared, the water shrank back into what it came from, leaving Caslean wet and astonished. She looked at the single flower left in her hand; it had turned a beautiful shade of blue streaked with gold.

Then Caslean noticed herself. She had changed. All over her skin and clothes, beautiful clouds, like the ones of the goddess's kimonos, now decorated her from head to toe. It was a gift, a gift that gave her courage and hope.

With no time to lose, Caslean finally left the washtub, and raced through the jungle back to her village. It was as hard a journey as ever, but upon seeing her home, she knew her quest had at last, been fulfilled. She ran through the houses, heedless. Her dying friend was waiting for her.

Upon reaching his house, she entered, quietly. Slowly, she walked up to his bed, and swallowed back her worries. Once she saw him on his bed, she got down on her knees. The sweet little girl held out her beautiful gift in front of her. My friend, I couldn't find you a lotus, but I have found you the most beautiful flower on the island…

I see…

But old man's eyes were not on the flower, they were on the beautiful draik holding it. Thank you, Caslean…

The end… the storyteller said.

Now that the folktale was over, the children rustled and chatted excitedly amongst each other. Story evenings were always the best part of the day for Tuwaite children. There were so many interesting tales full of love, adventure, and the wildest dreams. However, not all of the children were content with the story.

Nana? a little boy asked, barely over the age of seven.

Yes?

Why did you tell us the clouded girl story again? he asked, You told me you were going to tell the creation of the world today. The rest of the children went silent and all eyes were on the storyteller. The others had been curious about Nana's choice of story too, but none of them had cared much to argue it. The lupe sighed and crossed her legs into a more comfortable position. After which, she smiled warmly at the child with a wild twinkle in her eye.

Souta? Do you know the artisan couple who have all those sculptures around their house? she asked him, leaning slightly forward to him.

Yeah, one of them gave me a sculpture of a bird, he said.

The lupe nodded in confirmation. She sat straight up again, and like a child excited by the greatest festival of the year she announced,

Their baby just hatched…

What? These are the strangest markings I've ever seen, the fifth leader exclaimed.

Oh come now, they obviously must be fake, the second said, They are artisans. It would have been a simple matter to paint such things on her. A despicable thing to do to a newly-hatched. He attempted to rub out one of the clouds with his thick elephante fingers. Unfortunately, the elder had no such luck.

No, they're real, I guarantee you. Straight out of the eggshell, the draik said.

The elder was unmoved. Oh really?

The father is telling the truth, Kowui… I could only travel so fast, and I admit I arrived slightly late. But I will not kid you that the little dear was slimy from newly hatching when I showed up, clouds and all. We gave her a bath to clean her up, and none of these clouds or curls came out, the sixth elder said.

Hmph. I see, but we'll all know the truth with time, the stingy elephante said, turning to walk out. The sixth elder shook his head at his brother. Kowui was always stubborn. The techo smiled and tickled the little draik in her mother's arms with a finger. She let out a little gurgle.

You know, this is quite odd… She reminds me of a folktale. As a matter of fact, she's exactly like the draik in the folktale, the fifth leader happily piped up.

Oh? You're thinking about the Clouded Girl? the father asked.

Yes. Caslean.

Chapter One - Summary

So the reincarnation of Caslean, the draik of fairytale grew up to be a sweet child. A sweet child that played amongst the ledges of dangerous cliffs, romped around in the mud, and roughhoused in all unlady-like fashion.

Don't get your hair dirty, they said.

Don't run after the animals, they said.

But who really cared what they said? Caslean was the four foot rebel of Tuwaite and nothing was going to bring her back to that fairytale the people were shoving her into. She never liked making seashell necklaces like the girl in the story, they always looked like junk in the end. Smashing them was a lot funner anway. As for enemies, give her a break. She was going to kick that sharptongued snob's butt once she wasn't in reach of an elder's hand iron hand.

Why can't you be artistic like the girl in the story? they asked.

Why can't you be sweet like the girl in the story? they asked.

Why can't you practice proper hygeine like the girl in the story? they asked.

She wished they would shut up. She was nothing like the girl in the story, even if she had the magical clouds tattooed all over herself. They couldn't see that though. So while all the other children got to do what they pleased, she was shoved into a mold. She wished she could be like them. To act who they were, to do what they pleased, to be freee.

There was a doll given to her on her seventh birthday. It was of that girl everybody recognized her as. She hated that doll. It was always staring at her, smiling like the world was made of sugar. It was how the people viewed her, and not who she was.

To break their mold Caslean went crazy. She traveled into the jungle unafraid, she got secret lessons from the bamboo fighting master, and she did dangerous stunts like chasing after theives. Her biggest acheivement however, was climbing the heights of the northwest cliff over a small dangerous gulf. It was great, she found a secret cave found by nobody on the island. There, nobody could tell her what to do and she was free... for a time at least. Like everything that brought her happiness, the elders were there to crush it.

It was the most horrible day when the Elder's found it. Her peace spot was gone forever, but they didn't take it without a fight. Caslean went kicking an screaming. Unfortunately, she messed up. Wrenching herself from the elder's tight grip she stumbled backwards over the cliff and plunged into deadly waters. Shouts and screams erupted and all she could feel was her heart panging against her chest. She prayed the fish, the death fin, would not take her, and luckily, She managed to paddle ashore unscathed. It was a miracle.

However, her near death experience really changed the views of the Tuwaite people on her. She was beyond reckless, she was dangerous. Even her mother grew ill from paranoia. Ever since then, they locked down on her like chains. However, somehow Cas never gave up.

The grey old kougra smiled as he saw the children playing in the square. Caslean was one of them, finally. It pleased him that she was actually socializing with the other children. He took another bite of his bamboo shoot and headed back inside the bamboo building. Caslean's playing with the other children, he said to Kowui, who was perched at the table. His wrist was working hard on a poem.

Hm? Well, well… It's about time, the elder replied happily. He wrote 'success' on his poem and asked, What are they playing? Nothing dangerous right?

Oh no, it's only a simple pretend game. They're playing folktales, Layu said, sitting on the opposite end from Kowui.

Hah hah… That's great! Who's Caslean? Is she… well, Caslean of the story? the elephante asked.

No, the Layu said, pouring himself a cup of tea.

Oh… Kowui rested his cheek on the palm of his hand with a frown. He finally looked up from his poem at the kougra and said, I guess I should have known better… She must be playing a warrior from one of their folktales.

Layu took a sip from his tea. No, he corrected again.

Hm? Well, what is she playing then? the poet asked.

The oni.

RAWR!!! I'M GOING TO FEAST ON YOUR FLESH, STUPID LITTLE GIRL! screamed a shrill voice from outside.

Ow! Caslean! No tackling! came another voice, right after.

Kowui sharply inhaled a breath of air, and let it out. Maybe next month… he said.

Chapter Two - Summary

For years, Tuwaite was a battleground between Cas and the people of the village. Every day, they tried to force her to be who she wasn't and every day, she found a way to overcome them. Throughout her childhood, nothing ever changed, and nobody won. Even when the war between them grew fiercer, nothing was gained. Caslean was a willful girl set out to do what she wanted. They could tie her up, stick her on an island, and starve her, but nothing would break her.

When the day of her tenth birthday came around, excitement enveloped her. It was a small party, but of course, Caslean didn't expect anything more. The resistance to her folktale figure had made her quite unpopular among the villagers. They would not attend the birthday celebration of such a pigheaded and dishonorable girl, and the elders, who were equally scornful of her, would not make them. Caslean wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

She already had close group of friends, from surly to small, and they all knew how to throw a party right unlike most other villagers. So, for the entire day and well into the night, there were games, food, adventures and fun. However, as we all know, time passes, and before long the celebration was over and the partygoers retired. The birthday draik that they left was lying in a pile of her presents and enjoying the light of the moon. It would be the last many would see of her, because the next day, she came across something amazing.

It was a quiet morning when Caslean was exploring the depths of the jungle and playing with her new bamboo stick. She threw and trashed it around like a true warrior. It was 100% Caslean quiet time. Well, the quietest she could be anyway. For hours she played, until she came across something odd. The bamboo stick fell to the ground when she saw a large monster land in front of her. It was grey and shined like a serpent, and its eyes were so large and clear that you could see the monster's black innards through them. Several fins poked from its back and a few from the side of its tail. In a way, it was shaped like the death fish. She took cover.

Two strange men in matching clothes jumped out of the monster sides. They talked and although Caslean could understand many of the things they were saying, their dialect, words, and accent were nothing she heard of before. Nevertheless, despite their mysteriousness, the girl did not cower. As a matter of fact, she was only more intrigued by them. Particularly, she wanted to check out the great flying monster they came in. She wanted to know what it was like to fly.

The pilots left and she snuck in. There were very few places inside the beast that a ten-year-old draik could hide in, but she made due. Once the two strangers returned, talked some more in their odd dialect, Caslean got her wish. The monster growled and took to the air. She stuck her nose slightly outside her hiding place to see the sea and island falling farther and farther below. It excited her, so much that she let a squeal that nearly got her caught. After then, she learned to keep hidden, and simply enjoy the thought of the ride. Big mistake.

Hours past and soon Caslean was starting to become worried. Her ride wasn't stopping. She was about to get out a reveal herself when the helicopter landed and all was at peace. After the pilots were out of the monster, she readied herself to hobbly step out. The trip had left her cramped, but as she soon found out, it was nothing compared to what she saw outside the helicopter.

She was in the most alien world she could ever imagine, a black palette of white dots. She was standing on top of the world, overlooking the vast masterpiece called the city. Excitement and curiosity flowed into her as she ventured out into this new world. There were more people wearing odd clothing and talking in the same odd dialects that the pilots spoke. Buildings towered over her. A different variation of the metallic flying monster zoomed down straight pathways (She almost got ran over by one in her excitement). She had never seen a world like this, and for the first time, she was free.

As she explored that many wonders of the city, Caslean eventually came across a black lupe with weak legs. Upon bumping into her, he gave her a small piece of paper in apology and continued on. This gift left her confused for a good time. That is, until she entered her first building and saw a person trade their piece of paper for a coat. Dragon see, dragon do.

After obtaining her first purchase, she ran into the lupe again. He was rambling about something that quite puzzled Caslean. Apparently, she had done the man a crime by trading her paper for a pair of feet warmers. However, after the lupe settled down, they found an understanding for each other, and the man took her to his home. She had found her first friend in the great big city, Uncle Dashett.

Alright, welcome to your new home... at least until we can find your parents, the lupe gruffly said, flicking on a light. Before Caslean, a humongous and rich entry appeared. It hadd luxurious marble tile, white walls, and various card suit decorations laced within. All Cas could do was stumble in, mouth hanging in awe.

Beautiful, she said. Immediately she began touching everything she could get her hands on. She poked and prodded the potted plants sitting next to the entrance, feeling them thoroughly. Next she got down on her hands and knees to grope the metal lining the suite shaped tiles. What shiny material. She had never seen anyhting like it before. Finally, she got up and began to feel the statues, which were just as shiney as the tile lining. She pushed and pulled on it.

Whoa! Whoa! Hey! With no warning, Cas found herself knocked to the side. The black lupe was now standing in front of the statue she was observing, trying with ever so much difficulty to keep it from falling and crushing him. Don't... touch the decor... he groaned, Augh! Woodswin!? Help!

Caslean blinked and looked around. Wood-win? What was a wood win?

Coming sire! a voice echoed from a room over. Seconds later a lanky techo entered the entry, his brown eyes dull with boredom. You- OH MY! Immediately, he rushed over to his master's aid. Bam. The sculpture slammed back upright.

Phew. Thank you, Woodswin, Dashett said, wiping the sweat off his forehead. Woodswin's attention was on other things though.

Who's the girl? he asked.

Some lost kid. I think she's foreign, like third world foreign, the lupe said.

Is that so? Hmph, the butler bent over to give the little girl a lookover, What's your name?

Name? Caslean, Caslean answered.

And where do you live? Woodswin asked.

Tuwaite, she said.

Tuwaite. I've never heard of such a place, the butler snorted, standing back up.

It small. Surround by water.

I think it means she came from an island, Dashett said, and went over to hang up his coat.

An island you say?

Chapter Three - Summary

After Caslean was found by Mr. Spades that night, a wild goose chase was started. Dashett and the police started to search everywhere to find the little girl's real parents, where she was from. But alas, with the limited amount of information the little girl could give them, it was a hopeless pursuit. Months passed by and eventually, the search slowed to a complete stop. The police gave up, and decided it was time for Cas to be given to a foster home. Before she could be dumped with strangers however, who would you guess to take her in but the charming Dashett Spades. Over the months he spent giving Cassie a home, the lupe had grown a fond attachment of the kid. So much, that he was even sadly grateful they didn't find her parents... though... he did feel bad for her. As time passed, the excitement of seeing a city for the first time had worn off a little and Caslean was beginning to worry.

For her preteen years, Caslean was taught everything the new world had to offer. Some things she had to learn herself, often the hard way, but everything was a new adventure. Her love for the new world grew and grew with each passing moment and each new fact. She loved seeing unusual new species of both people and animal. She loved ransacking the food parlors and trying everything their menu had to offer. She loved finding out how technology worked. Finally, she loved asking questions. What was a cow? Tasty meat came from the cow? People drink milk that comes from an animal? Where do the pictures on a TV screen come from? What is electricity? Everything was so interesting, and as she grew, she became more accustomed to the new world, she was able to lose her accent and talk properly. Though, not without the help of the very strict tutor Dashett hired.

Unfortunately, still not a big fan of sitting around all day, Caslean was very rambunctious. Many times, she gave Dash and his tutor the slip, went out exploring, and even did some very dangerous stuff time to time. However, she soon grew to find out the city was a very different place from Tuwaite. With no choice, she had to tone down what she did in the old days. To help tone her down though, Dashett analyzed what she liked to do inside. Video games, music, watching movies. Finally, he was able to introduce something that changed Cassie's life. A DJ system. At first, it was very hard for Cas to get into it. So many plugs and nobs and such... but before long, she started experimenting. Experimentation grew into a hobby and then it grew into a lifestyle. When she was good enough, she was going to play for Wonderland Palace, Dashett's casino.

Now one day, Caslean met the humble cousin of Dashett. A gelert named Aria Vienta. At first, the two were very awkward around each other. Aria being shy and nervous one and Cas being the pushy and overly curious one. However, it wasn't long before they realized what they shared and became good friends. Soon after, whenever Aria came to visit, they were hanging out, going places, and having fun. When it was finally time for the boy to leave, they shared sad heartfelt good byes. As their friendship progressed however, Aria started to grow some hidden feelings for the beautiful draik. Sadly, he could only keep quiet like most other timid boys did, because telling her would mean he'd have to reveal another, deeper, secret. A secret that Cas would laugh at him for.

Not all things in the new world were good though. As time passed, Caslean's heart yearned for her old family more and more. Not that she wanted to move back onto the island, but that she wanted to see her parents and old friends. She wanted to hug her mom, she wanted snuggle into her father. She wanted to tell them all the things she had seen and learned in the new world. Unfortunately, the only thing that came from it was tears at night. Dashett as hard as he had been trying, couldn't come up with anything. He hired many a pilot to search the seas. He examined many a satellite to analyze the world. Still, nothing. Because of this, it became his life's duty to spoil her instead. He wanted to keep her mind free from sorrow, to give her hope for the future, and for the years she spent with him, he did.

The bedsheets trembled. Every movement was so small, but violent and tearful. Caslean couldn't sleep again. As her tears dribbled out onto the red satin pillows, she whipped from side to side and back again. Finally, she realized she couldn't hide from it, and squeezed her bedsheets tightly. M... Mom... she choked into a dark room. Only the light of three monstrous windows came in could tell her that to answer her. She buried her face into her pillow and sobbed. Da... Dad...

I'm so sorry, her muffled voice came, I'm so sor-r-ry... I'm sorry I got onto that helicopter... I-I didn't know you'd be gone forever.

The room was silent in response again. However, this time her apology didn't go unanswered. A sad, quite nudge prodded her arm. Removing her face from the pillow, Caslean's red and swollen eyes gazed up too see a large four legged figure with a unruly main. Ay... Ayumu... she said, and her heart bgave out a sigh of relief. She removed herself from the bed and slowly wrapped her arms around the Garfir's furry neck, fingers digging into the thick wirey fur. She let all out. All her tears and wailing, it all came out. Once she had calmed down, her finger began to slowly began to work Ayumu's mane, twirling the hair in subconscious thought. I miss them, Ayumu... I miss them...

The garfir let out a sympathetic growl, but took himself out of Caslean's arms to stare at the -blocked- Then the draik did the same. The stars and moon were out, bringing light to the sky. It was so normal but so mesmerizing at the same time. The girl got up and clumzily made her way to it. Standing by the window, Caslean could not only see the night sky but Dashett's glorious garden, the city in the distance, and even the break of dawn. Ayumu walked over and sat by her side. His warm orange eyes stared up at her with hope. Do you... think they're staring at the same moon right now? Cas asked, leaning into the window seal, Do you... think they're missing me too?

The garfir did not respond but rubbed his head against her with loving purr. You're right... They are... Cas said, and crouched down to hold up Ayumu's massive head. Someday... I'm going to find them. Someday, we're going to find each other and I'll get to show them the new world. I'll get to show them all the cool foods, technology, and stories. And Dash and Spotty... It will be awesome. What do you think? The garfir buried it's head into her chest, and a smile was brought upon the girl's face. And don't worry, I'll bring you too. Hey, is Dash still asleep?

The garfir removed its head from her chest and looked up.

You look like you need a treat...

so far, so close
but nothing in the end...

Chapter Four - Coming Soon

Finally, the day that Caslean was waiting for all this time had finally arrived. Dashett had gotten a lead at last. A strange island not marked by maps was found on satellite, and it had life. Villagers and all. With nothing to lose, the two immediately got packed and headed out in helicopter to search the seas.

It was a long trip to get to the island, but all the more for the excitement to build up in Caslean's heart. She was finally going to see Tuwaite again. She was finally going to see her parents and everybody after five long years. However, it all came to an end once they reached their destination. This island was not her island. They didn't lose hope though, because the island, Meaulu, had many cultural similiarities to those of Tuwaite. The had very similiar tales, very similar habits, and arts. There was a chance that Tuwaite was not far away, and so Cas and Dash got back into the helicopter and started their search again.

Without coordinates, the helicopter simply drifted over the seas for the next two days, searching for any signs of land. Many islands were found, but they little islands with no habitants. Only one desired their stay and that was to spend the night. However, by the end of the second day, their supplies had run out and there hope had dwindled into no more. It was time to go home. Poor, beaten Caslean would have to search the seas another day.

The helicopter blades hummed overhead, as the side of Caslean's face rested on the window overlooking the passing ocean. It was so quiet. Quiet enough to drive Dashett into the crazy house. Somehow, he could not help but feel that he was the one who crushed her. He brought her hopes so high. He rustled a bit in his seat.

Hey, Cassie. Cassie! he called her.

What? she asked, but she did not rustle from her position.

I'm sorry, the casino owner said, Really…

Caslean let out snort, and looked at her dim reflection in the glass.

Mr. Spades swallowed. She was really down about this. Then again, he almost knew what she was going through. Almost. Not being able to bear looking at Caslean, the lupe looked away from her, and at the smidge of window between the pilot seats. The ocean was actually quite beautiful tonight with the moon bearing down. It could have been a lovely night.

Caslean… he started again to break the quiet ambience, I never knew my mom. She divorced my dad for some snot of a guy when I was two. And my dad… Well, he disappeared a couple years ago. He could be dead. I mean, you should already know this. I've told you this story before, but, what I'm saying is, I know how it feels to lose your family.

Did you lose your entire home too? Caslean asked with a sharp tongue.

No. Not at all, but I didn't say I knew what it felt like to lose your home, did I? I said I knew what it felt like to lose your family, Dashett said, leaning back in his chair.

Caslean was silent for a moment, but then what was silence became sobbing. Dashett's ears perked up and the lupe turned his attention back to the teenager. Oh, whoa now…

I was such horrible daughter to them, she said.

Hey! Hey, Cassy! Quit it! Dashett said. Before he even knew it, he had wrapped his arms around the girl, like a father consoling his daughter. Both sat in total surprise. The casino owner had done nothing like this before. It was so sudden. However, once it passed Dashett finished. Quit it. We'll find your family and your island some day, and if we don't… Hey, you've Uncle Dashett and Spotty at your back.

Caslean pondered for a moment, looking out at the shimmering sea. Tears were still rolling down her cheeks, but she took her hands and placed them gently on Dashett's caressing arms.

When we get home, let's have a nice dinner at the palace buffet, okay?

home is where the heart is
family is where the love is...

I don't think I would have gotten far without Uncle Dashett and Spotty. If I hadn't run into Dash, I'd probably still be running around the streets, lost and confused. Maybe even worse. That's why I have to hand a lot to them. They've also kept me smiling for all these years. But... Even so... I still do miss my old parents. They weren't as strict as the elders and my mom, well... my mom was all for me back then. She convinced Master Ayato to teach me the ways of bamboo fighting and defended me when the elders were too harsh. I'll tell you all about her soon enough though. Let's start down the list first.

Hey, girl!

Huh? Oh! You guy who gave me paper!

Uhuh… Listen… I think I accidently gave you a $100 bill. I-I-I mean, it's not that I'm not generous. I would totally give you the money if it was on me, but uh… I kind of need that bill.

What in world is bill?

The paper! The paper I gave you! Where is it?

Umm… Well, I saw somebody give lady paper like one you gave me, but in return, he got robe. Then I saw foot-warmers…

Oh no… What did the shoes cost?

The… paper?

No! The…! Gah!

The gah? Yeh, you people talk weird.

No! Young lady, was there a piece of paper on the shoes with… odd markings on it?

Yes… I… thought they were charm of some sort. It still on them.

… …… …… Only $15.00!? And you didn't get cash back!?

Cash... back?

DOH!

Four words... Dash. Is. The. Best! He's the greatest step father I could ever ask for. Being the owner of the our ever popular casino, Wonderland Palace, he can give me anything I want. Music, CDs, concerts tickets, lava lamps, anything! My room is practically loaded. Not to mention he was the first to introduce me to a DJ system. As a person he's pretty cool too if not more. He always brings me up when I'm down, knows what to say to bring a smile on my face, hugs me, and well, he loves me. My only beef with him is that he sometimes gets carried away sometimes. It's all cool for the most part though. He makes me feel at home away from home.

I know a few good places in city. I could show you them sometime.

Really? That would be awesome!

Not today though, it's getting a bit late.

Yeah…

Heh…

So…

Hm?

Don't take this the wrong way. I doubt it's true, but I heard from Uncle Dash that… Do you play with dolls?

Uh-Whoa! Why do you ask?

I don't know, it just sounds so nerdy. I mean, you're what? 14?

Er… Heh heh. Play with dolls? Nope, that's not me.

I didn't think so. Dash makes up a lot of stuff. So what do you like to do?

I… uh… I need to go. I have something planned at 8:00.

What?

Nothing…

Every so often Dashett's cousin comes over to visit, and I tell you, he's a hoot. He just acts and says really wierd things around me. Whenever I first seem he always seems so nervous, but once we get going he's a fun guy to be around. We love playing video games, sharing funny videos off of the internet, and most of all, just going places. We've been to the zoo, the theatres, the park. Oh! That reminds me. It was so great when we went to the northeast park one time. The wind blew my hat off and he actually jumped into the lake just to get it. In a way, it was really charming though. The way he acts always reminds me of like... uh... what was that kind of person again? Oh yeah! A prince.

. Mom :::

So what did we do today Caslean?

It was great, mommy! I went into the jungle and saw this really cool looking frog, then I played warrior. Hyah! Slash! Cut!

Ho ho... Looks like you had a great time then. Tell me, what did the great bamboo warrior Caslean save this time?

Well, you see. There was this HUGE red oni with large fangs and poisonous drool. He was stealing fruit that was supposed to be for the gods and taking them away to his lair to ingest them all for himself. But I cut him down to size.

Uh... Caslean...

Hm? Yes mommy?

Were you attacking that little boy Reau again?

........... No.

Caslean, tell the truth...

Fine... Yes... but mommy! He was stealing food from the gods!

As in the leftovers set out for the animals every night?

.........................

Oh Caslean... I don't mind you playing unlike those strict elders, but please don't attack the other children. You make my job all the much harder.

I'm sorry, mommy.

It's okay, dear. Just attack something like a statue next time, okay?

Okay.... but statues don't complain when you hit them.

What was that?

Uhh..... Nothing?

Out of all the people in Tuwaite, I'd have to say I miss mom the most. She never saw me for my clouds or the fact that I was the golden girl of the village. She just saw me as simply, her daughter. She backed me up when people frowned upon me for not being the original Caslean, and she even tried to show them the real me. Every night when she tucked me in, she would usher me to tell her my adventures for that day. If nothing happened that day, then well... she would say Then let's make it happen the next day. Sadly, after my near death experience by falling into Death Finn infested waters, she kind of got a bit uneasy about me going out and exploring. It became practice for her to check me for wounds whenever I came home. She was also relieved if I told her nothing happened for a day. Still, she still cared about for who I was more than anybody else.

. Dad :::

Ugh... Who do they think they are? Trying to restrict the great Caslean from creativity. Such bogus.

Uhuh. You said it.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to do something special just to spite them. Come with me.

Huh? Dad, where are you...?

You see this muddle puddle over here?

Uhuh.

I want you to jump in there and make the biggest mud mountain you can make, then make a little mud Tuwaite and add some leaves for trees. Make it is a great as you can. That will show them.

YAAAAAAY!

That's what I'm talking about. Get right in there. Make it big, make it nice, make it proud! You'll... No, no, that's not what I meant.

But the mud is too wet, and I'm hot.

Caslean. You're supposed to teach the mud who's boss, not roll in it.

Uh... Okay.

Now let's try this again...

I wasn't as fond of my dad, as I was my mom. Mainly because he loved my status as the reincarnation of Caslean. He gloated about me constantly... although... it kind of died down the more reckless I became. He also scorned me a lot like the elders. Unlike the elders and people of the village though, he at least knew a load of baloni when he saw it. When I wasn't allowed to play in the mud, he ragged on the elders why? I mean, I was having fun, I was making little villages. I was being creative. That was one thing he didn't like when it came to the elders telling me what to do. Being an artist, he felt creativeness was a huge virtue, and he didn't want no stinking elders saying I couldn't get my feet dirty. Yeah, he wasn't as supportive as mom in everything I did, but he did make sure I was loved. He played with me, made me toys, and made me laugh.

even alone in the dark
they will always be with you...

Now outside my family, I've met quite a few people. Partygoers, fans of my remixes, and whatnot. I've also met people who were complete jerks. Somehow though, I'd like to share them all with you. Well, not all of them, but a few that have striked me pretty often.

Pic by Spooki(banryouka)

You guys owe me for your sorry hides!

My sincerest apologies, Miss Spades...I was...

What?

I was wrong to not believe you.

And....?

I could take back that apology if you insist.

Oh, I understand. I mean, it's not like I did anything important by saving your lives...

Miss Spades, you have every right to call me a 'creep' for what I've said and done to you and you have done us all a great favor by warning us of the bomb, however...

Uhh...

Go home.

Ugh... This guy... He's like one of the Elders new world style. He's not even old and he tries to tell me what to do. Seirously, if you just listen to his tone of voice, it's just seething with arrogance. The worst part of all though? He's a detective. That's right. He gets to see cool stuff all the time. Murders, theft, kidnappings, and if he catches me following him, then guess what kids! It's lecture time! A precious delicate girl like me should not put herself in harm's way. Ugh. Even when I've tried to help him and his 'buddies' he has put me down like a child. Sometimes it's almost not worth it to stalk him... eh, but I do it anyway.

Oh come what? You would probably would have that disk by now if you just asked for directions, you knnow.

Gaah.... Okay, fine. How about this? Just turn it in to Mr. Jerk and tell him Uncle Spades needs it repaired or replaced as soon as possible.

I thought Uncle Spades told you specifically to get it repaired for him.

That's only because he was too busy to deliver it himself! And I'm not going in there to bend in to jerkface. No way!

So you want me to 'bend in' to him for you?

Well, he is somehow your friend.

Any reason for the air quotes?

Hey, I still just don't get how you can be friends with such a jerk.

Have you seen my other choices in friends?

You mean that Kudo guy right? He didn't seem too bad.

You don't know the half of it...

Girl, you seriously need to get some better friends. Look.... Just take it to him... please....?

Maybe I'm just a masochist in that sense?

Ran is nice. Bad taste in friends, but nice. To be honest though, I don't know her all too well. Just that she hangs out with Jimmy and Jerk face (who I'll get to later), but whenever I see her she's pretty cool. We've talked whenever we've seen each other, and one time she even helped me deliver a Dash's bugged security system back to Samu to have it fixed. It didn't go as planned, but hey, at least she helped. I just look forward to seeing her more, and hopefully not when she with that jerk.

Hm… That tune wasn't bad.

You think so?

I'll tell you what, DJ…?

Cas, Caslean.

DJ Cas. I have a special offer for you. In a month, I'm going to be opening the latest attraction to my amusement park. A video game.

A… video game?

And I would like to have your music in this game, with full credit off course.

Ah…. Ah… ah… Are you serious!?

I don't joke... ever...

Dude... You have seriously got to be the coolest guy in the world...

Heh, I already know I am...

Now there's one person I know who's worse than Hakuba, much worse. As a matter of fact, he's the biggest jerk you'll ever find. His name Seto Samu. He works with Dash *coughtakesadvantageofcough* by inventing technology for the casino to run on in exchange for advertisement and money. At first I thought he was a nice guy, because one day he wanted to use my remixes for a game or something... It was amazing. I thought I was finally going public! Then he stole my work and butchered it! He didn't even give me any credit! I got him back for it eventually, but... ugh. He is the last person I want to be around. Ever since I got back at him, I've found he's nothing but a stuck up rich kid that likes putting other people down. It's a miracle that guy even has friends!

a companion that is faithful
a companion like no other...

A garfir? He looks fearsome doesn't he? Well, that's because he is. Meet my Ayumu, he's 530 lbs of terror and not even full grown. Still, he's the greatest pet I ever known. He's loyal and playful and we go every where together like to the park, to the zoo, shopping... Though I admit not many people have taken to him being in their stores. He's a bit of a brute obviously. Still, it's all the better to scare off thugs on the streets that have a beef with me. I tell you, the city at night isn't the safest place to be. You see reports in the newspaper of people getting kidnapped, murdered, but not me. Never me, because I got Ayumu. Sometimes, he's a bit overprotective though. Even if he's on his leash, you might want to keep sudden movements to yourself or he might mistake you for a threat. Trust me, you don't want 2 inch incisors digging into your flesh.

Still, to me and Dashett he's a sweety. He's like your average overgrown housecat. He likes to be pet, comes running into the kitchen when its dinner time, and you can often find him chewing on his favorite toys. That or lounging around like the lazy cat he is. As you can imagine though, he's not the cheapest pet to take care of. His food alone costs us $5,000 a month. Yup, he's growing big boy. It doesn't stop me from spoiling him with awesome collars and toys though. I think, if there was anything wed'd have to be worried about with him, it's his recklessness. As much as I've tried, I can't seem to train him to stop shredding up our expensive velvet couches. Because of this my poor boy has to remain in his little habitat outside or be on a leash, but it's okay. He seems happier outside anyway.

I bet by now, you're wondering how I got him. Well, it was a long time ago, within my first year of being in the city. I had been crying a lot because you know, I missed my family and friends back on the island. Although I had Uncle Dash and Spotty, they couldn't be around all the time, so I had many nights when I was alone and without anybody to distract me from my memories. Thankfully, Uncle Dash came to my rescue one day. It was in the morning, and I had just woken up. I was going down to get breakfast when Dash stopped me halfway. It was really peculiar. He had this huge smile and a look that just screamed 'I did my good deed for today'. Not second later he pulled me downstairs to see something amazing. On a leash, being held by Ms. Tuero (One of our maids) with the cutest face was an adorable baby Garfir, not even a year old. Dashett said he had overheard me crying one night, so he got Garfir shipped straight from Alatador. Seeing Ayumu for the first time was one of the best days of my life and I'll never forget it.

new worlds to see and explore
what are you waiting for...

What? You curious about where I came from? Well, we called our home Tuwaite, land of Deyu's descendents. Before I found the mainland, it seemed so big back then. Still, not so big that I couldn't mentally map out where everything was. Tell you what, I'll give you an indirect tour from what I can remember so you can get a better idea of what I had back then.

1. Central Tuwaite

To start off, Tuwaite was seperated into two areas, the Central and Windcatcher. The Central as you can guess, is the 'main half' of Tuwaite. It is the place where the village leaders resided, where cases were heard, and where the majority of our festivals took place. Along with that, the fishing boats docked here, and sold their goods in the square.

Really, I'd say the square was the pride of Tuwaite. Our best trading posts and professional services resided along it, including the house of the elders. Not to mention, it was the ideal spot to play if you could dodge around the crowds. Something also cool about the square was that it was tiled with stone carved from rubble to take the shapes of various animals. It made for some fun games. Still, there was something I never took to liking in the square. Along with the various animals carved in tile, there were fairytale characters. Caslean, the original Caslean, was one of them.

2. Windcatcher Tuwaite

Now for the Windcatcher side of the Tuwaite. One of the reasons it's called the Windcatcher is because it always seems to get the most wind, another is that we believed Kaiyo, the goddess of wind and weather, was greated from the surrounding gulf. I'll tell you now, that Windcatcher is a long walk from the Central, but we still traveled it a lot. I know I did. A lot of my friends and family resided there when the Elders wanted me in the Central for festivals and junk. I never minded the distance to go see my friends, but I can't say the same for the return trip. Really, one of the nice things about Windcatcher was that it was so much less crowded. I didn't have to fight through four dozen people just to get to the beach. And don't even get me started on the certain secret training dojo in the hillside next to it. Although I was forbidden, I went there all the time to be trained in the art of bamboo fighting.

Finally, the gulf of Windcatcher was one of the best swimming spots ever. It's not as calm as the southern gulf which makes it all the more fun.

3. Southern Gulf

The southern gulf was a bore, but I couldn't seem to argue it back then, since it was the most popular swimming spot on the island. People liked it because the water was warm and calm, and this made it the ideal spot for toddlers to pee in our 'pool'. Yeah, I never really liked that spot obviously. Not to mention the bridge in front of it was being used constantly. So much, that it'd even break fairly often, and then there'd be a whole bunch of people trying to fix it. I'd say no thanks. Oh, but an interesting tidbit, Rea the god of fire was created from this gulf.

4. Northern Gulf

The last of the three gulfs, the gulf Reni the god of justice was created from, was awesome. It was rocky and mossy, has an awesome waterfall, and so many caves I can't even begin to count them. I used to play here all the time. There were so many places I could hide, it was a blast. Not to mention you could find some pretty funky creatures in those caves. I tried to keep one as a pet once. That was, until the elders came and ruined my fun.

Unfortunately, as fun as it was to play at, it wasn't exactly the ideal swimming spot.... For anyone! Have you ever heard of a Death Fin? Probably not, but I can tell you now, you don't want to mess with these guys. One sting could rot your flesh away for weeks... until you died that is, and victims always did. Only the stupid went into that gulf on their own free will.

5. Lake Lotus

I never really been up here to tell the truth, but from what I heard it was the most beautiful spot of Tuwaite. I heard there were so many odd looking plants, ones that even glowed and set the lake alight. Unfortunately, only scavengers looking to make riches or medicine have gone up there, because it was apparently dangerous and rough to get there. This lake was where the last emotion goddess, Caulsa, was created.

6. Mount Tuwaite

I have alway seen the mountain from the beaches, so high and tall. Like the lake though, few actually ventured up there, and I wasn't one of them. I heard it was just as awesome as the lake though. It had caves and critters, and every fall there was a migration of these amazing birds. I've always dreamed of going up there one day... but can't say much of that now.

new cultures, oddball traditions
care not to dishonor them...

So now you're curious about the Tuwaite culture, huh? It's very much different from the new world's. Then again, we didn't have technology and surrounding cultures to shape are beliefs. However, as different as it is, I've noticed my island was similiar in traditiions to Shenkuu and other islands. You know, it makes me kind of wonder... But enough, I'll start off with the guess-timates.

Name: Tuwaite (too-WAH-teh)
Population: Estimated 880
Area: 403.5 sq mi?
Terrain: Lush/Mountainous
Climate: Tropical

Orgination: You're asking me? I don't even know myself. If you want to go all mythical about it though, I guess I can say we of Tuwaite believed the land was formed by the great sea god Ayruyu for his friend Deyu to sit on. Then Deyu made the island habitable. Yeah, that's all I know about the origination of Tuwaite. Maybe some immigrants came from Shenkuu and settled on it a long time ago? I don't know.

People: You might find this funny but not every species of neopian existed on my island. When I came to the new world I can't tell you how surprised I was to see a yurble for the first time. The only species I can recall being on my island were...

Nimmos, Skeiths, Lennies, Aishas, Chias, Eyries, Flotsam, Jetsam, Lupes, Elephantes, Gelerts, Myncis, Peophins, Acaras, Zafaras, Techos, Moehogs, Kougras, Draiks, and Xweetoks.

Even then, they were much different and much more colorful. Draiks appeared more like me, with antlers instead of horns or fins, and techos always had these vibrant stripes or spots running down their back. To be honest, they were much more beautiful and interesting than the neopians of the mainland. Letsee... and if you want to get scientific about it, we were all fairly small. Men only got to 6'1" at most, and women 5'7". Of course I'm just guessing here. We didn't exactly have tape measures in Tuwaite you know.

Clothing: Now clothing was really something different back on the island. We had two materials to choose from, silk and wool. Silk was the casual clothing for adults. You could often see it on the people lying around on the beach, or sitting in their homes. I got to wear silk when I was littler too, but I'll have to say it was quite different in the case of children. Children were considered messy and that the liked to roughhouse. This playtime is too much for delicate fabric to handle, so only children of honor could wear it. As you can guess, the elders took away my silk once I started rebeling. Now as for wool, wool was your average work clothes but don't think you could go wearing whatever you liked. Different colorings and decorations meant different jobs and intentions. The fisherman wore teal for example with various sea shells sown into the fabric. You don't want to mistake that with the luxurious merchant who wore red and gold.

Food: One thing I have to say that the mainland greatly surpasses Tuwaite in is food. We have cow, pork, chicken, and everything we had back on Tuwaite... Well, almost. Tuwaite did make a few of their own special dishes like clam poppers. Other than that though, we did have quite a few ingrediants to work with. Fish was our favorite, but we also had rice and bamboo shoots to nibble off of. Not to mention, we also had our chefs. Seriously, if you found a really good one, he could whip you up something so delicious it is considered gourmet.

Shelter: Another thing I don't miss about Tuwaite. Our houses were small, with working class having 2 bedrooms at the most. Yeah, we had to cram in there and if you had a large family, well, sorry dude. Even worse however, was the occasional leaking and the occasional 'rebuild the entire house day'. Our houses were flimsy, only made from what resources we had on the island, usually bamboo. While I admit the honored houses were built a little stronger, even they were made from plants and junk. It was quite a pain, compared to even the trailer parks in the main land.

Social Classes: Like most every other civilization, Tuwaite had its ranking ssystem. I used to be an honored, being the girl of fairytale, but that kind of slipped as rebelled against the elders down the ladder. Not that it matters now but take a look.

Elders Becoming old was a beauty in Tuwaite I guess. With age, came wisdom, and with wisdom came respect, and we held these beliefs very close. I can't tell you how annoying it was since it was the old village leaders who were always telling me what to do. To direspect them would to show you were an ignorant and pathetic dog so guess what happened with me? Alas, becoming of old age did not mean you became wealthier. You had what you had when you started out. The only thing you get is respect and the ability to teach.

Honored
The honored class was like the 'Rich and Famous' class of the mainland. It consisted of the wealthy and the noble. All those prodigies, the people who had done miraculous things, and those who truly helped the village were here. I used to be one of them, because that also including the celestially gifted. I have to say it wasn't bad, being an honored. I wish I could have held out a little more before the restrictions started driving me insane.

Hah hah. Yeah, being an honored, you got great things. The finest of goods and services, daily gourmet meals, and daily respect.

Working
The general class of Tuwaite, or I guess you can say, the middle class.

Married Nonworking
In Tuwaite, if you don't have a job, you're on the bottom of the pole because you're not giving back to the community. However, if you're married to somebody, you're saved... slightly.

Children
Children were children. They needed to be taught and disciplined, not looked up to. What else do you need to know?

Jobless
Unless you got some supporting family, you are deemed worthless if you don't provide for Tuwaite in some way.

Government: Ugh... The government... the government that expected me to be a precious little fairytale angel. Well, first off, the government consists of nine elders. They keep things under control in Tuwaite by giving people advice, hearing problems, and trying to solve them. The also ran the festivities and represented Tuwaite to the gods. The village leaders are never replaced until they have passed on, or in some rare cases, have committed a crime so foul they have to be removed. When this happens, a new elder is elected for the position and assumes duties.

Economy: There really wasn't a currency in Tuwaite, since... well, we had nothing to make the currency out of. We simply traded goods for goods and services for services. It was kind of a nice thing though because the more skilled you were and the higher the demand for your service the 'richer' you became.

Justice: Once again, another thing that the elder village leaders are put in charge of. Our laws were pretty basic. Don't steal, don't murder, don't disgrace the gods, but people still found the need to break them. When they were caught, they were put up onto a trial where both cases are listened to by the elders, and the make the judgement from there.

We have light punishment like small fees for petty theivery, but if you do something really serious like murder and to some degree, disgracing the gods, you'll be in for a heck of a time. That means torture and/or even death. Nice to know, huh?

weave a tale
for those to come...

What!? You want to hear some more Tuwaite stories? Oh no! I'm not going to spill all those annoying tales, just no... Come on, quit it. I'm serious.... Please?.... Ugh. Alright, alright, you win, but I'm only going to tell you a couple. The ones I remember at least.

. Creation of the World

Before the land and before the sea the world was a very much different place than how you and I know it. It was dark and desolate, without noise, without emotions, and without life. That is, except for the great god Deyu and his trusted friend, Aruyu the sea bass. Together, they spent endless millennia talking. With their laughter they brought light to the world and with their love, they created the sun.

However, when the sun came, Aruyu wasn't a very happy fish. He complained to his dear friend.

I don't like the sun. Would you please do something about it, Deyu?

Now this puzzled Deyu, and he wrinkled his face in confusion. What could his partner possibly have against the sun? He asked the sea bass, Why don't you like about the sun? Is the brightness too much for you? Do you miss the dark?

No, no! I love the light. It's the only way I can see my best friend. But… It's too hot. I'm too dry. My scales are cracking up, Aruyu said, I won't be able to last much longer under such immense heat. Please, do something.

Deyu frowned for his poor fishy friend. Taking away the sun would be terrible. How would they see each other? He thought and he thought and then he came up with and idea. One that didn't involve taking away their beloved sun. With one massive stomp of his enormous staff, Deyu sprang a leak, and soon, wonderful life-bringing water came rushing in. The sea was born. As the soothing water dampened Aruyu's body, his dry hurting scales became no more. He found himself so overwhelmed with joy that he jumped and splashed all over, creating the waves of the ocean. Thank you, Deyu! Thank you!

It wasn't long after though, that Deyu had his own problem. Now there was no place for him to stand with all this water and Aruyu's waves kept lashing him side to side. He kept quiet about it, because he didn't want to take away what made his friend so happy. Still, it wasn't long before Aruyu noticed the turmoil in his face. It was a petty problem though, to which the sea bass only laughed. If you needed a place to stand, why didn't you say so? With that, the sea bass dived down into the depths of the sea and took mud into his mouth. Coming back up, he let it out to form an island Deyu could stand on. Tuwaite. Deyu thanked him and crawled onto land for the very first time.

For a long time after, everything was peaceful, but soon they began to miss the darkness. The sun was so boring to look at for so long. Not to mention they couldn't sleep with all that light, so Deyu decided to take it away, but only for a little while each day. Problems came from it though. It was too dark, and Aruyu was frightened. Whenever Deyu took the sun away, he always whined how something could go wrong if it was gone for too long. So to help him, Deyu reassured his friend nothing would go wrong, and in turn, this created the moon to bring light to the darkness. Grateful for having such a wonderful friend, Aruyu made a big splash toward the night sky and created the stars. They now had something beautiful they could cherish together forever.

As years passed, Deyu became creative. On his little land, he sculpted, forming the great mountain. Then, from his staff, he took splinters and created the trees. As soon as his masterpiece was complete, he showed it to his dear friend. Look Deyu, see what I have made.

The sea bass stared over it with aw... It's gorgeous, Deyu, Aruyu exclaimed. Soon after though, a sad sigh left his lips, I wish others could see your work. You were always quite the artist.

Deyu smiled and went back to work on his island. He grabbed bits of mud from the land, forming small bodies of water in their wake. From them, he first created the gods, Rea the god of fire, Kaiyo the goddess of weather, Caulsa the goddess of emotion, and Reni the god of justice. With them, they brought fire, wind, rain, emotion, and the payment for wrongdoings. Afterwards, Deyu dug smaller areas of land and with them, he created all people and animals.

Aruyu, eventually intrigued by Deyu's work, dove into the sea and decided to create his own masterpieces. With his very own scales, he created the fish, the coral, and the seaweed.

After all was done and created, they taught the people and animals all they knew. They taught them art, they taught them stories, and taught how to live and feed. Ever since then, they watched in joy as their creations grew and thrived.

That is how the world came to be.

And to think this actually made sense back on my island. Yeah, I'm being kind of unfaithful I guess, but once I came to the mainland with all its science and other thoughts how the world came to be, it became hard to believe. Not that it's a stupid story though. It's actually one of Tuwaite's better ones. As a matter of fact, it was my most favorite story back on the island. That is, before my own tale got to me.

. The Stolen Wishes

Long ago, there was a young zafara merchant named Tychou. He was a cold-hearted man with blue eyes that stung the heart, a ugly brown snout that looked like it had been smooshed into mud, and left ear that was torn from roughhousing. Every day, he went to the marketplace with his goods swung over his shoulder, and every day, he swindled people out of their hard earned goods with a smooth tongue. Tychou was a very greedy man, and that wasn't to be mistaken. Once, he found a little girl being beaten by a nasty bully. Instead of rushing in to save her like a noble man would do, he demanded the little girl's necklace to stop the bully. Another time, he even traded his mother's most treasured possession just for a new coat. It was safe to say he didn't may many friends, if any. Not that it mattered to a cruel man like him, as long as he had his possessions.

One day, Tychou was digging through and admiring his beautiful possessions when he came across something peculiar. It was a stone statue of a fish. At first, it didn't look like much, but before the merchant could move on with his other treasures, he heard a peculiar voice.

I am Oruse, spirit of the stone fish and granter of wishes. For finding me, I shall allow you one wish, but heed me, you must pass me on to the next person for their own wish to be fulfilled, the fish said, Or the wish you make will cease to be true.

Now this was thrilling news to a greedy man. He went through in his mind all the things he could wish for. Wealth, power, recognization, but what to choose? He needed more wishes.

I wish for endless wishes, he said, but the fish did not cooperate

That may not be done. You may only make a wish once, it said.

The merchant scowled and tried to think again. There were so many things he desired. He couldn't be bound by stupid restrictions. Finally, a new idea struck him, more devious and more greedy than the one before. His mouth curled upwards in mischievous glee at the fish.

If that's so… Then I wish that anything wished by anybody else on this stone comes true for me instead, he said. After all, people like wealth and good things didn't they?

So be it.

The next day, Tychou handed the stone fish off to a passing fisherman. Like expected, the fisherman wished he could become a rich honored, but instead, it was Tychou who became the rich honored. The fisherman gained nothing.

Next, the fisherman handed the statue off to a little boy. This poor young boy was scrawny and sickly. In hopes to scare off the bullies that picked on him, he made his wish to be strong and healthy. Once again however, it was only the greedy merchant who's muscle size expanded.

The next owner of the statue was hideous young man. Constantly poked and made fun of for his ugliness, he wished he was the most hansom man in Tuwaite. Alas, his warts never disappeared, but Tychou lost the scar he gained so long ago and his face became the symbol of beauty.

Everything was going the way Tychou wanted it. By the end of the day, he was the most fortunate man alive. Wealthy, hansom, powerful, respected. He was being served tea by beautiful woman on the front tile of his house.

Then things went downhill.

The next person to obtain the statue, made a wish to be the most beautiful lady in Tuwaite. Like that, Tychou was no longer a sturdy well-built man, but a gorgeous slender woman who could stop the hardiest of man in their tracks. Now the merchant didn't take this so kindly. He panicked, and began to search village to find the statue. Somebody needed to be convince to undo this horrible wish.

Then a short, rather slow-thinking guy made his wish. The wish that the merchant wanted. He became a man again and even smarter than before. Once again content with his being, Tychou slowed his search, rethinking about confiscating the statue. He didn't want to end all the goodies he was getting.

And then the statue ended up in the hands of an old middle aged man. Although old age promised him respect and status, the thought of being too frail to work made him shudder. With his case, he made a wish to be twenty years younger.

Tychou became no more than a little boy.

Then his wife took the statue. A beautiful lady, tired of all the attention she got for her looks, wished she was unnoticeable.

Tychou became invisible to all those around him.

By then, the merchant had finally realized his mistake. He knew he had to confiscate the statue before worse things were wished. For the next few days, he weaved in and out of the villages, searching high and low for the precious fish. He searched the gulfs, he searched the jungle, and he searched the mountain top. Alas, everywhere he went, he had no luck, and the wishes, good and bad, were stacking up.

Until one day.

Finally, Tychou found the fish sitting on a beach. He was thrilled that he nearly leapt ten feet in the air, before running over. However, before I could retrieve his prize, a sad man had picked it up. Having murdered his love so many years ago, he was man smitten with guilt. He looked the fish over with souless brown eyes, in deep thought. Then, he knew what he wanted. He said, For what I have done and the horror I have committed, I wish my pitiful life can end so I may be born anew.

Tuwaite never saw Tychou again…

Kind of a creepy story, huh? To have ANYTHING other people wished for happen to you. Seriously, I always found Tychou to be a real idiot, and kind of deserving what he had coming. I guess that's one of the morals of this story, though. Don't be greedy, stealing is wrong, and what somebody else wishes for may not be your own. I have to say however, the reason I remember this story is because of jerk face. He seems like somebody who would actually do this. As a matter of fact, he's almost exactly like Tychou. Greedy, cold, ruthless... You know, it even makes me wonder... Pbt. Nah!

marking in a journal
of all the places i've been...

Alright, here's something fun. This is my sketchbook. I'm no artist but I looked to doodle from time to time. Go ahead and take a look.

The very first doodle in my sketchbook. It's a picture of Dash taking me in that night when I had first arrived in the new world. Yeah, nothing real interesting, I know.

This was me letting off some steam, when jerk face stole my music... Looking back though, I wished I could have done much worse. Maybe haved added some pimples or something. Meh. Anyway, did you ever wonder how he gets those black specks on his face? I bet you that they're actually soot. He sticks his head into a stove every night because he loves the burnt smell.

Back when I met Mr. Elder for the first time, right before we explored this creepy village. I'll never forget his first words. Blah, blah, blah, blah!

Now this is a sketch of the creepy village I was talking about. It... really looked a lot more ominous than I have it, but cut me some slack!

I'm telling you there is no other explanation. As much as Ran denies it, I know jerk face paid her to be his friend. And yeah... he's in a dress in this pic. What about it? I still had some more steam to let off.

Okay, now this was a creepy day I'll never forget. You see, Dash and I got invited to this party upon a cruise ship a while back. Everything was fine and cool, we were chatting, having a blast. Then the lights went out. People started panicking and we got seperated, but trust me, that was the least of our worries at the time. Everybody was being kidnapped off the ship! And it was by these.... ghosts. Seriously, they were nothing more than glowing masks floating around in the dark. I mean, don't worry, everything was resolved in the end, but... it was really scary at the time.

Another exciting part of my life, and maybe the best. Seriously, it was the day that everything Mr. Elder and Jerkface said to belittle me was shoved right back in their face. Maybe next time when I say 'There's a bomb in the house' they'll actually listen... Well... okay, I am a little glad they at least didn't get killed...

My trip to the circus before things... got a little wierd... Seriously, there were some awesome rides though.

Another 'take your anger out' doodle. Heh heh... Loser. I'm telling you he'd even say Candyland was too dangerous for me.

This happened when I needed to turn Dashett's computer system for the casino in to Jerk Face to get it fixed. I have to say right now, whoever that guy in the bunny costume was, he was totally epic. Seriously, this guy skipped into the Jerk Face's lobby, threw flower petals around, played peekaboo with the secretary, then when the guard was out to nab him, he made him fall into a cream pie! It was great!

Well, that's all I have to show in my sketchbook for now, but don't worry. I still like to doodle time to time, and if you come back, I might have some new things to show.

so many photos and images
but only one me...

Hey, want to see something cool? I have a whole collection of pictures drawn of me from big to small. But to start you off, here's a few Keruha has done herself from oldest to newest. If you want to see any in full size, just drag to the address bar or copy the url from right clicking a picture and going down to properties.

Not bad, huh? She's improved by a mile since she first started drawing me, and this isn't even the end knowing her. Really, I can't wait to see some of her future stuff, even if it's of that jerk face draik she owns. Keruha's always striving to get better at art. Right now, she says her weaknesses are lineless and proper shading and that she could ALWAYS use improvement in anatomy. I personally don't quite get it, but hey, I'm a DJ, not a painter. I just hope Keruha gets wherever she wants to go with her art.... but of course, some daily art of me wouldn't suck.

You know though, Keruha isn't the only person who has drawn me. On neopound there's been a whole lot of awesome people, and I am not kidding you! Check it out!

nothing but trinkets and toys
yet they're still fun...

While huge works of art are awesome and all, there's still something cooler. Adoptables.... And Keruha is one huge adoptable collector. She treats each set like a once in a lifetime chance. Well, unless she's swamped with work. Then she has no choice but to painfully let them slide.

As you can guess, she can't obtain most adopts without a set of her own, and this where THESE come in. However, let's lay down some rules before we throw them out.

+ You may trade for app draiks and soon-to-be draiks.
+ You may trade out-of-species.
+ You may use these anywhere as long as you link back.

- You will not enter them in competitions.
- You will not claim them as your own.
- You will not claim a custom that isn't yours.
- You will not edit the pictures.
- Remove the link back to Keruha's lookup.
- Pester Keruha when she's said no.

Difficulty: Medium

I'm not the only one with talent you know. How about you? Are you a good artist? A brilliant writer? Well, we'll see about that. I have a good assortment of awards you can choose from right below. Just give me the word, the page, or whatever and I'll be the judge. If it's good enough, they'll be yours... depending on how you rank that is. Yeah, don't even try to think of taking a gold trophy when you get silver. Not that you need to steal in order to get gold, I hope.

But a few words of advice first. I like to be wowed. Getting creative can earn you some mundo brownie points. Oh yeah, you'd might like to know that I HATE theives. Even if you're not technically a theif, and you're using somebody's content because they allowed you too, that is still really pathetic. I'm not going to give you gold for somebody else's skills. That's just stupid. Oh yeah, don't trace or paraphrase junk either, because that's stupid too. This award will be your sweat only, and if you can't understand that, you won't be getting anything... except maybe a trip to Iceland if it's really bad.

Now then, we set? Great. Mail Keruha right now, and be sure to specify what trophy(s) you want!

there's Caslean...

What's this section? I bet you've never seen anything like this before. Well, this is a dump. Everything and anything that can't fit in this page anywhere else goes here. Usually, it will be stupid stuff like quiz results, memes, and even random jokes involving me. Still, it's fun.

  • Caslean was put up for adoption for an entire year. Rhiow, the fosterer, disappeared and never came back. Instead on May, she put the application progress in Lakynn's hands. When Lakynn disappeared, the application process was put into the hands of a panel of judges.
  • Over that time, Keruha never took down Cas's page, app, or any of her dedications, always waiting and hoping Rhiow would return. Even her Neopound avatar of Cas remained for the entire year. Keruha continued to roleplay, draw, and collect for Cas like one of her own.
  • She received Caslean on August 16, 2009.
  • Caslean will never be traded.
  • Caslean will never be put for adoption.

everybody's got questions
but do they have answers...

Okay. It's getting late so we better start wrapping this up. Have any questions before you go though?

My pet loves you? Date plz!
Uh... No thanks. I don't even know your dude.

-sing- Why can't we be friends?
DUDE! I don't even know you!

Can Keruha be my friend?
She doesn't know you either.

Can we roleplay then?
Sure... I guess. Keruha loves to roleplay, just drop her a line... but uh... no dating.

Is Keruha up to chat?
Always! Drop her a line.

Ooh! You're rich! Gimme something!
Sorry, we're not the kind of rich people who throw diamonds in the streets for the fun of it. Keruha doesn't either, so if you want money, work for it.

Can Keruha draw me free art?
Art takes a while. Keruha's art takes hours, so I don't expect her to be handing out freebies anytime soon unless she feels somebody is deserving of it.

Can I use the stuff she already has up then?
NO! Big no! You want to get frozen? Look, if you want free art just see this guy.

Can we do an art trade?
Depending on the time Keruha has and your skill. Most likely not though.

Can we trade links?
YEAH! Just drop Keruha a line.

Can I adopt you?
No way, you lost your chance, and Keruha is planning on keeping me for a very long time.

Can I trade my maraquan draik for you?
WHAT!? NO!

Why do you dress goth? Are you goth?
Uhh... No? But why do you care so much?

How'd Keruha get you?
She applied for me a long time ago, and spent a whole year of roleplay, collecting customs, and drawing her at school just waiting on me.

Can Keruha join my guild?
Throw in your offer. Unless it's a really cool artist roleplaying guild though, don't get your hopes up.

Can I draw fanart of you?
Wow... Y-You'd do that? You rock!

Well, that's about all I have time for. Geez, I sound like a talkshow host. Anyway, if you have questions I didn't get a chance to answer, be sure to neomail Keruha when you get the chance. She'll clear things up, unless its... you know. The meaning of the universe or something.

and they lived happily
ever after...

Well, that's all I have for now. Thanks for coming by. I had a blast talking to you. If you ever want to come back just say the magic word... or grab one of these cool links. Paste them wherever, and if you care for a link trade, just ask. Oh, but make sure your page isn't some blank group of pictures first.

If you're looking for something to do now, I suggest visiting these awesome people. They got some pretty interesting stories too.

Oh wait! Hold on! Hold on! I'm not through with you yet. I have some people to thank.

Hey Spooki (banryouka), you and your mom rock!

Hearty (xoxheartlessxox), thanks for keeping Keruha somewhat sane during this app!

Thanks to pirate (o_pirate_o) for critiquing this app and the ego boost. Heaven's knows Keruha needed it.

Thank you Neopound for all the lovely pics and support!

Thank you Sai(unsealed) for being the NICEST competition ever! I hope you're able to recreate your Caslean. ^^

Thank you Rhiow for putting Cas up for adoption.

And thank you Jdorian, Place, Sealion, and whoever else for decided Keruha would make a great owner. THANK YOU!!!!!
