Cookies. Everyone has heard about them. Everyone has tasted them. And I am here to tell you all that cookies are *THE* best baked good that has ever graced this planet. At least in my opinion. And so, I have spent much time into creating this petpage, my dedication to the cookie. If you've got any questions or comments about this page, anything found here, or about anything in general, feel free to neomail me, Squirrly_2003.

| About my Maraquan Cybunny |
|
Well, I'm sure you all want to hear about all the wonderful things I have to say about cookies. But before I do that, I'm going to chat a bit about my wonderful pet that let me use his wonderful petpage ^_^ Let's start with a picture.
Yes, he is a maraquan cybunny named bunnbunn1098. And yes, I realize that I am a guy. And so is the cybunny. So please, excuse the name. I made it when I was 10 and uncreative :P Anyway, my cybunny LOVES cookies. And I mean LOVES. In fact, he more than LOVES cookies. So when I asked him if I could dedicate his page to cookies, he readily agreed. This cybunny even persuaded me into creating a cookie-themed gallery. You can visit it if you wish ^_^ Anyway, my cybunny also likes to read, but he doesn't do it very often. He likes to read cybunny or cookie themed books the most, but any book that isn't boring will keep his attention. He has also started training for the Battledome, but he isn't nearly as strong as he should be, so no BD requests please. Well, there was my cybunny in a nutshell! You can ask me anything about him, and I'm sure I'll get around to you eventually. Just make sure your question isn't something like "0MG WhY 1Sh Y0uR bUnnY P1nK?!?!!one!!shiftone!?!?" because I won't respond to questions that are illegible or are in all caps, and because my cybunny isn't pink. He is a very manly light blue and purple T.T |
| History of the Cookie |
|
I've heard that cookies were first baked in a place called Persia way before I was born. I think it was in the 5th century BC. Or something like that. I can't really remember. Of course, cookies have definately evolved since then-blocked-s have even drastically changed here in Neopia. For example, this is an early Neopian cookie:
Of couse, you COULD eat a cookie like that. But seriously, who would want to? Especially when cookies from today look way better and much more edible. I mean, I would much rather eat something like this:
That looks much more appetizing, doesn't it? Hopefully, cookies will continue to get better in Neopia. Why, even *I* may have some cookie pets in the near future. |
| Making Cookies |
|
After hearing about the history of a cookie, many Neopians feel as if they are ready to actually bake a cookie. Well, to do so, you need some basic ingredients. Here they are:
From left to right, the ingredients are flour, eggs, sugar, and butter. Once you've got all those ingredients (believe me, it may take a while. I mean, flour is expensive in Neopia. Dunno why, but it is O.o;;) then you just throw them together, put them in the oven, and Taa-daa! A cookie! (A note to all the insane Neopians: Please, do NOT actually throw everything, or else your kitchen will get really dirty.) To bake these cookies, you can use any oven you want. I personally prefer the Water Faerie Oven, but you can use any of the ovens below:
Just make sure that when you use an oven, you use protective equipment. I do not wish to be held liable, so heed the following warning:
Also, if you want to create a special cookie, and not just a sugar cookie, you could add wheat and make these:
Or, you can add chocolate and make any of these wonderful cookies:
Experiment with what you add to your cookie. I mean, there are already some pretty strange sounding cookies out there that taste pretty good. For example, who would ever eat a Snot-Covered Cookie? Yet, they actually aren't that bad. So, just try adding a bunch of different ingredients to your cookies, and who knows what you can create ^^ |
| Biscuit vs Cookie |
|
By now, one should realize that this petpage is all about cookies. However, in Neopia, there also exists biscuits, which look extremely similar to cookies. See for yourself:
The picture on the left is of chocolate chip biscuits. The right is a chocolate chip cookie. Disregarding the fact that the cookie looks like it is more badly drawn, the two items bear a striking resemblence. Then, since the biscuit items and cookie items are rather similar, why did TNT make two different items? Well, I don't know. I'll put my theory here, and if someone has a different theory, neomail me, Squirrly_2003, and if it makes sense, I'll put it here :P My theory: I think TNT made cookie AND biscuit items because they had first created the cookie items. Then, they decided to make some words on Neopets come from the British dictionary (such as using 'favourite' instead of 'favorite'), and in Britain, the 'cookie' is called a 'biscuit', thus giving way to new items called 'biscuits'. But, alas, I don't know why they just didn't rename the older items. Maybe TNT thought the site would appeal to more people if both cookies and biscuits appear within Neopia :P
|
| Types of Cookie Items |
|
Within Neopia, there are many different types of cookie items. Although most people will not see more than food items and a book or two, there are actually many different kinds of cookie and biscuit items roaming around this world.
Cookie Food This category is definately the largest of them all. There's edible cookies or biscuits of most pets. You can get cookies of many flavors (some of the more exotic ones are cheese cookies, snot-covered cookies, and dung cookies). You can get cookies that are in many different shapes (such as the cookie negg or the lemint cookie). All in all, this group is the largest and has the most variety.
Cookie Furniture Ever want to have cookies or cookie furniture within your neohome? Well, now you can, since TNT created many cookie jars, biscuit jars, and a biscuit furniture set (pictured below). The cookie and biscuit jars are all shaped in the likeness of different neopets or are named after their different designs. If I were you, though, I would stray awar from the dung biscuit jar, as it will make your cookies and biscuits go rotten. I prefer the clear cybunny biscuit jar, but that's just me :P
Cookie Books After Neohome and Food items, books seems to be the next largest category. Sadly, though, TNT has yet to make any biscuit books, so every book shown here is cookie-themed. Dispite that fact, there are very interesting tales here, wonderous stories about cookies, so make sure you check out some of these books. These cookie-related books are Cybunny Cookie Making, Kreludan Cookie Book, Kreludan Cookie Cookbook, Cookie Dough Bomb Manual, and Wocky Cookies.
Cookie Weaponry Tied with the Cookie Books for third largest category is the cookie-inspired weaponry. Sadly, only Usuls can use all five of these items. However, most Neopians can make use of four of the five, as those four are very biscuit-y. The last is made of cookie dough.
Cookies in Gardens The second-last category here contains a pitiful two items. It is quite depressing to find out that there exists only two cookie-themed gardening items within Neopia, and even more depressing to hear that one cannot be bought from user shops. Well, here are these two items, the Biscuit Umbrella and the Cookie Tree.
Special Cookie Items The last cookie and biscuit items are considered 'Special' in Neopia. So far, only one item, the Biscuit Paint Brush, falls under this category. Sadly, only five pets can be painted with this brush. These pets are shown on the side, under the Navigation and Links.
So, as you can see, cookies and biscuits can be used for much more than just as food. Whether you are decorating your neohome with them, planting cookie trees, or defending yourself in the Battledome with them, cookies are everywhere. Except for under the water. Believe me, it is REALLY hard to eat a cookie in Maraqua. Someone needs to create a waterproof cookie or something. |
| Gourmet Cookies |
|
Believe it or not, there are quite a few cookie foods that add on to your Gourmet Club score here in Neopia. Many of these cookies are more exotic, but your pet would probably enjoy these cookies more than burnt food or desert fruits. If you've ever wanted to know what these gourmet cookies were, well, look no further! Here is a complete list of gourmet cookie items, as of 1/17/08.
Total Items: 22

And those are all of the gourmet cookies that are floating around Neopia as I'm speaking... err... writing. However, these various cookies and biscuits will only be found with a large price. Either you invest a large amount of neopoints into any one of these items (and yes, they are expensive) or you can stake out the Bakery in hopes of just seeing one of these rare cookies. |
| The Best and the Worst of Cookies |
|
This section will provide the best and the worst of Neopia's cookies. Listed here are the three best and three worst cookies, voted on by other Neopia users. Voting is still open, so if you wish to add your vote to this count, then please do so by neomailing me. You can also add a funny/interesting story about the cookie. Who knows? I may add it here ;)
Neopia's Best Cookies Third Place - 3.25 votes
Who could not love this Robot Grundo Sugar Cookie? It is simple, yet quite refined. Plus, it is a ROBOT cookie, and who doesn't like robots? As one user stated: Best: Robot Grundo Sugar Cookie because it's got Grundo in it but also for the festive feel without going overboard so you can easily serve it year-round." ~flufflufpufpufpuf This cookie definately has everything. A festive touch, Robot-themed, and Grundo in its name. What else could it have? Second Place - 7.5 votes
Earning the second place spot on this top cookie chart, the Mint Swirl Cookie definately needed a place. And how could it not? Its minty flavor graced more than a thousand Neopian's mouths as they tasted this delectable treat. To easily sum up why this cookie got second, we look at what one user has to say: When I got mine from the Advent Calendar, the picture looked sooo good...I devoted myself to buying as many as I could, and feeding them to my poor pets. I think that they are still traumatised. lol" ~ka_choo_ey This definately shows that many users are crazy about this delectable cookie. First Place - 8.25 votes
The wonderful Unity Frosting Sugar Cookie has currently won the first place position by no more than a drop of icing. It quite obvious how this one made its way to the top. I mean, it is the perfect unison of orange and purple, showing why these two colors deserve to be together. It originated from Kreludor, but has since become the cookie of choice for all Purple and Split colored pets. Here is what one passionate person has to say about this wonderous cookie: The Unity Frosting Sugar Cookie is the clear winner! I mean... just look at it! It's purple AND orange! The two greatest colours the wold has ever seen! Do I see people paying 100s of thousands of neopoints for green pet paintbrushes?? I don't think so! Plus my bedroom is purple and orange!" ~janeclifford Neopia's Worst Cookies Third Place - 2 votes
Eww, what is that stuff coming off of the Durian Bisuit? Why, it is none other than the foul stench that comes forth from this cookie. However, if one can stand the stench, then this cookie isn't that bad, barely causing the cookie to get onto this list. Second Place - 3 votes
This cookie doesn't even deserve to be called a cookie. I mean, it is a BURNT Scarab Cookie. Not even a correctly cooked cookie. Whoever made this obviously didn't read my 'Making a Cookie' guide. This cookie is definately revolting, but just wait until the first-place cookie comes. First Place - 13 votes
We all hoped that it was icing atop these Snot-Covered Cookies. However, reports confirm our suspicions of that topping actually being snot AND boogers. Talk about an 'ew' factor. As other users put it: Geez, I even remember the video from the advent calender, which makes it even worse." ~cw5685 Worst: Snot-Covered Cookies because they're snot covered cookies. People don't like uninvited fluid sharing. ew." ~flufflufpufpufpuf And there you have it. The best and worst cookies in Neopia. There will be no doubt that the Snot-Covered Cookies shall remain the worst, but the Mint Swirl Cookie may not be the best for much longer. Only time can tell. |
| Getting a Cookie Pet |
|
After mentioning that Biscuit PB, many of you out there are probably wondering how to get a spiffy cookie pet. Well, there's two steps to getting an awesome cookie pet.
Step 1 The first step is to get a pet that can be painted biscuit. Since there are only five pets like that at the moment, you'll want to get a Chomby, Kiko, Kougra, Ruki, or Yurble. Within Neopia, there are several ways to get a Neopet. If someone has less than four pets, then a pet can just be easily created or adopted from the pound. However, if someone has four pets, getting one of these five is a bit more difficult. You could always pound a pet then re-adopt another, but some people don't want to get rid of a pet. So, they have these options: One way is to zap your pet after obtaining the whole Secret Laboratory Map. Here are the nine pices that you'd need:
If zapping aimlessly with the lab ray doesn't sound that... predictable, then you could always morph your pet with a morphing potion.
If morphing your pet will break your budget, then I will suggest using Transmogrification Potions. They make your pet look... different, but they have the same result of a morphing potion: giving you a species you want without pounding the pet. Step 2 The second step is much simpler. Just paint your pet! All you'd need is a Biscuit Paint Brush. Then, head on over to the Rainbow Pool, and voila! A cookie pet!
Now, was that so hard? *random biscuit pets are seen bobbing their heads as if saying 'yes'* O.o Don't listen to them. It only sounds complicated. |
| Cookies in Stories |
|
By 'Cookies in Stories', I mean any sort of a cookie that appears in the Neopedia or in user submitted writing. It'll be in a list, with the picture of the article preceeding a bit of detail about where the cookies come in. There'll be links as well if you wish to read the whole article ^^
Neopedia Articles
This story is called A Halloween Tale. The cookies appear in this article when a grandmotherly Krawk invites young Neopians into her home for some freshly baked cookies. If only we knew what kind of cookies they were... -~-~-~-~-~-
Okay, so this one, titled The Cybunny Carnival, doesn't mention anything about cookies or biscuits. Still, there is a Chocolate Chip Cybunny Cookie on the page, so it is worth mentioning :D The Neopian Times Submissions
This story is titled Interview with an Edible Pet. As the name implies, this story is about a user who interviewed their pet to see what life was like being edible. I would have gladly told the life of an edible pet, but sadly, Cybunnies cannot be painted biscuit :( -~-~-~-~-~-
The story, titled The Friendship Quest is all about two friends, both in love with Illusens Cream Cookies. The story goes on to elaborate on the differences between the two, as one tries to do Jhudora quests instead of Illusen ones. I don't know why someone would do that. I mean, only Illusen gives out Illusens Cream Cookies. -~-~-~-~-~-
This story is titled Neopian Cookies, Can Your Pet Resist Them? and it goes into detail about some of the more major and well-known cookies in Neopia. Included in this article are The Chocolate Chip Cookie, The Fortune Cookie, and The Kreludan Rocket Cookie. Truly a must-read! -~-~-~-~-~-
This story is titled The Diary of a Pea Chia and I know what you're thinking. What could a pea chia have to do with cookies? Well, in the chia's first diary entry, the chia tells how he won one cookie from another neopet. You should definately check it out ^_^ And there you have it people. There are all of the cookie-themed stories I have found. If you think I'm missing some then please neomail me, Squirrly_2003. Sadly, I found no traces of stories of cookie or biscuit heros or villans. Maybe there'll be a few in the future :) |
| Other Stuff |
|
You're probably thinking, what other cookie stuff could be out there in Neopia? Well, to start, a game was released that featured some cookies. It's titled Biscuit Brigade: Hagan's Last Stand, and the aim of the game is to keep King Skarl's army of toys from stealing King Hagan's biscuits.
If you can't quite figure out the game, then might I suggest a guide. One was written recently for the Neopian Times. If you manage to score well in Biscuit Brigade, then you might just win one of these snazzy trophies:
There are also fun images for the biscuit-wanting Neopians. Currently, there are four that relate to the game Biscuit Brigade:
And there's yet another fun image depicting a biscuit chomby:
You could also cookie-ify your shop if you choose. Currently, there are three shopkeepers and two shop blogs featuring cookies and/or biscuits ^_^
(Okay, so the meepit blog isn't really featuring the cookie. But it is eating the cookie :D) |
| Random Cookie Facts |
|
You've read through this entire petpage. You now know more than you ever did about the cookies within Neopia. However, there are still some questions you want answered. And I'll try to get to as many random cookie questions as I can and post the very factual (*coughcough* not really *coughcough*) answers to them.
|
| End Stuff |
|
I made this petpage with the help of spunk1 (she gave me a very useful code :P) so DO NOT take ANY coding from this page without first neomailing me. You MAY use this petpage to get an idea for a layout, just make your own coding. Okay? Okay ^^
This petpage should be compatable in MOST browsers. I checked it in IE, Netscape and FF, and it worked fine in them (the bar on the side is a bit longer in FF though :P) If this page does not look right/like it should/like a piece of dung, please neomail me with a description of your problem. I'll get around to fixing it as soon as I can. I've made some buttons, they're not that special or amazing. If you would like the codes for them, feel free to take them. Just don't tamper with the code, 'kay?
