Also, try your luck with those giant clams?
No gills or oxygen tank? Would you like to surface again?
If you'd rather dive further, go on!
Out past the Mystery Island rock pool, where the reef begins to drop off into ocean, there is a bed brimming with giant clams. Bigger than your head, they yawn languidly and sometimes reveal a glimmer of something kept hidden in their mouths. A large form glides over the bed and weaves through the clams. Horse and fish combined, a glinting face mask, and wings... it must be a faerie Peophin.
It pauses briefly at one clam that has stayed open just a moment too long. In one swift motion, the peophin swipes a hoof between the two halves of the clam and plucks out a pretty hefty pearl. The kick sends the pearl shooting behind her, but before the clam can even protest, the peophin has already doubled back and caught the pearl on the end of her muzzle. She balances it there as she returns to her original path.
Hey there! You must be out here for the
Neopia-famous Mystery Island reef diving.
That's why I'm out here. These big clams here are full of surprises. And I love surprises. Especially the blingy-shiny-pearly kind."
I wanna talk about me! But not for too long. Just enough to fill you in the present details.
While I've never been way into the Battledome scene, I'm training to be able to hold my own. So far, I'm at level 18. My strength is at 17, my agility comes in at 20. My defense is a 14, and I can hold out with 14 hitpoints. Nothing terribly impressive- yet.
So in case you couldn't tell by now, I'm not exactly your average faerie peophin. I'm part Flamboyant Cuttlefish. Yes, strange. Maybe you'll run into one while we're down here. My tailhas some cuttle-y characteristics, in that during extreme surges of emotion, my markings can shift a little bit. It happens all over my body, but you can only actually see it on that fin way back there. It gets all speckly when I'm happy, flashy when I'm not, and it flushes white when Chulita the Kougra and her Meepit play Surprise-Peekaboo with me.
Here I am, all of a few hours old.
I was born seven years ago.
In Neopian time, that would mean I've been around quite a while.
artista_10 loved me from the moment I was created. She first laid eyes on me as a newborn peophin, so delicate and perfectly blue. Azulita means Little Blue One.
She scooped me up and wrapped me in a blanket, and off we went to her, I mean our, home.
For some time, it was just her and me. I learned to use my little legs walking around Neopia Central, we spent lots of time playing games, exploring all the shops. Sometimes we stopped to meet other pets and their owners. It was lots of fun to go out. Artista thought I might like some playmates at home, though.
The day she made her desicion, she only expected to bring home one sister for me. But through a funny series of events, she brought home twin red eyries, Chulita707 and Chulita70710. Those two were trouble as fledglings... er, cubs? Whatever. They had enegry they didn't know what to do with! Racing up and down, surprising you from both sides at once, one-upping each other on pranks. As exhausting as it could be, it was fun to sit back and watch the two fluffballs.
Here I am, meeting the Chulitas.
We lived a little while as just the four of us. My mommy, me, the twins. But pretty soon, Artista brought home a scruffy, yellow lupe pup. He'd come from the Neopian Pound, and at first he was a little wary. But with all our love, he's grown up to be a great, gigantuous lupe that takes care of us all.
Soon after that, artista_10 got us all a big house in the Neopian susburbs. We lived on Bread Street. I remember. I got painted, the twins got transformed into different species eventually, and as Tucker grew up he was painted too. We each got Petpets, we trained and read as often as we could. We travelled all over Neopia. We had it made really well.
Eventually, Artista said she had to go away for a little while. But we knew how to take care of ourselves, we had lots of neopoints to use up, a big comfy house... we knew we'd be okay, and we'd have lots of fun together untilshe came back.
It took a long time. But Artista did come back. And, she brought this squirmy little pink thing. It cried, smelled nice most of the time but could make some really gross messes, and could hardly move, unlike Neopets when they are created, who are already very independent. It was Artista's baby! She had a family now! And we love that baby. She likes to pull ears, but we get over it when we see her smiles.
When Artista came back, she sold our house on Bread Street. Bye bye, Neopia Central. She bought us a house on Mystery
Island, where we can explore the jungle and enjoy the beach all day. We still travel a lot, but when you live in paradise
it's hard to know if everyday life or your trips are the vacations.
My bestest buddy is Little BAMF the Meekins. He's been my bestest buddy for a looooong time now. Ever since I became a faerie, I think. We used to fly around together, back when we lived in the 'burbs of Neopia Central. But now that we live on Mystery Island, he has no problem diving right into the shallows with me. Good thing he isn't dry-clean-only. He can only hold his breath for so long, of course. So sometimes he just relaxes on the beach while I dive, or he goes out boogie boarding. Sometimes on a leaf, if he can't find his board.
I am the oldest of artista_10s four pets. I have two sisters and a brother.
Chulita707 is my baby kougra sister. If you do go visit her, be mousy quiet. It can be pretty hard to get
her down for naps- it's easy to get too excited for quiet time when you live somewhere as exciting as Mystery Island. And
if she's awake, watch yourself. She's teething.
Chulita70710 the green elephante is our youngest sister.
Strange, isn't it? A big elephante littler than a
baby kougra. Chulita is interesting. She kept her wings and her cottonball-tail from the days when she was once an
Eyrie and then a Cybunny. So she hops around in the jungle, and sometimes you can find her in trees. We're not quite sure
how she gets up there.
And my brother is a fire lupe named Tucker2001_c04 . He can start out a little cool, but he warms up just like the flames he wears. Just don't bother his sisters too much. He started out a tiny little pup, but don't doubt for a second that he's all grown up now. He's always out exploring all of Neopia, but he can show up real quick when you need him.
Here is where I'll keep all the wonderful things I come across, and would love to share.
These adoptables are by Mojokittie. They are amazing!
And here is the picture Artista traded to Mojokittie. It's 3urned_soul.
My page has been awarded the Running Scissors Award for cool-pet-pagey-ness! What an honor!
A magnificent ship passed this way not long ago. Her crew was the most impressive I've seen lately, not because of their number, but just their character. They had wonderful treasures to share, including maps of Neopia and, my favorite, blingies.
