Welcome to Rock the Reef Reviews! This is review site run by two friends, Rimi and Mocha. Our aim is to give you constructive feedback while pointing out flaws and complementing things well done! We review both guilds and pet pages, just as long as they are on
on the neopets site. Sorry, we do not review anything outside of neopets. If you would like your site/guild to be reviewed, fill out the form below and neomail it to
sweet_spirit! From there, we will either accept or reject your application. If it is accepted, then we'll try to get to reviewing your site as soon a possible!

How We Rate
First Impression, 20/20. Will I want to stay at your site or guild? Does it look attractive enough?
Updates, Activeness, 10/10. For a site, do you update often enough? By having an update panel you receive an easy 5 points! For a guild, are your members active enough? If you have an update panel too, that's a boost to your score!
Content, 20/20. Does your guild have fun games and events, or active role play? Does your site have what people are looking for? Is anything *gasp*
stolen?
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Is your site/guild filled with hard-to-read chatspeak, or perfect grammar and spelling? I won't take points off for guild messages.
Quality, 10/10. People want good quality guides and graphics. They want quality webbies and events. What more can I say?
Organization, navigation, 10/10. Is it hard to get around to the different pages of your guild, or parts of your page?
Layout, 10/10. Did you or a guild member make the layout yourself? Is it well-organized with colors that match? Are there any flaws in the placement?
Uniqueness, 5/5. Are things on your site or guild new that you don't see everyday? Are you trying something that no one else has before?
Other, 5/5. Anything I missed goes here.

First Impression, 19/20. The picture is very pretty, and I like how you used gradients in your font. I think the picture looks a little too familiar though, like you just took a neopets picture and put some font on it. I would add something extra to it. Other than that, the first impression was great!
Updates, 10/10. It looks like you update pretty often, and you actually
have an updates box.
Content, 20/20. I love the idea of making a Petpage Help site. You offer a lot of tips and coding for people to use. all the CSS and HTML works, and you tried your best to make everything sound clear.
Grammar, spelling, 9/10. Great job! I hate to see pages filled with chatspeak and such, but yours had none! I only found a few mistakes, like when you say "code away," you have two exclamation marks. You also forgot some periods in places.
Quality, 10/10. Like I said before, everything is worded clearly. You include every step to make a petpage, and I think that you put a lot of time into making your site a great quality guide.
Organization, Navigation, 10/10. everything is in its place, and you have nice navigation links on your toolbar.
Layout, 9/10. I love the colors, but the red on the blue kind of hurts my eyes. I would suggest a softer red, or maybe just another shade of blue. Everything has a place and is aligned right, so there's not much else to improve on here.
Uniqueness, 5/5. You whole idea of petpage help is very unique! I've seen a few other petpage help sites, but they only include how to code your site, not the whole actually making one and establishing it like you did.
Other, 5/5. It seems you really like to work on your site and put a lot of time and effort into it, making it a great site! Also, you advertised your site a lot, and have tons of affies!

Bollywood Rocks!

First Impression, 15/20. I see you change guild layouts often, and the one you have now is very nice. I love the colors, and it seems like you have a lot of guild links. I had to take off some points because, (a) Bollywood Rocks is such a plain name, and (b) you can see some of the actual neopet's themed page peeking out from the back. This looks quite messy, and if it looks fine with your browser, you should ask some one else to check it too. You shoud really do this with all layouts.
Updates, 7/10. Your members are pretty active, but you don't have a guild news box! I took off two points for that, and the other point I had to take off because I have seen more active guild.
Much more active. But still, your members are on at least once a day, and the message board isn't exactly slow, so congrats on that!
Content, 20/20. You really have a whole lot of guild links! It took a while to go through all of them, but most of them had good content and interesting layouts.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. I saw no mistakes on the homepage or the webbie, but I didn't check anything else because that wouldn't be your fault.
Quality, 7/10. A few of your guild links didn't have layouts or had hard to read font. The homepage is, like I said before, messy, and it doesn't seem like you've set too many rules.
Layout, 8/10. Once again, it's messy. But it's still cute and different. Overall, I'd say it's well made. It's also good to see your making your own layouts.
Uniqueness, 4/5. You have unique events, and I've only seen a few other Bollywood themed guilds. I've also never seen the 'GUN' thing, and think it's nice to see two different guilds working together.
Other, 5/5. Your guild guild is very big! You have a whole 120 members! I really must recognize you for that!

First Impression, 18/20. Your layout is very pretty! I like the song in the background so your visitors have something to listen to while viewing your content. The blend is nice as well. There is a little patch right above your updates that shows neopets though. Try to make it a bit more colorful as well.
Updates, 10/10. You updated A LOT!!
Content, 18/20. Well, I like your backgrounds and icons! But some of the PSD's aren't so great… The one for Hannah Montana has many black squares around it. I think you should fix that. I like the way you give Ideas for petpage names! It's really cool!
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Nice! You have correct grammar with no chatspeak or incorrect spelling!
Quality, 9/10. It's great! Although few are quite blurred, and hard to see.
Layout, 8/10. It's Ok! I would recommend making the scroll bars visible. It's really hard for me to see it since everything is white! The text area boxes shouldn't be brightly colored. For a while, I didn't know they were text boxes!
Uniqueness, 4/5. Pretty unique! I think I've seen the frog and cow animations before though… Anyways, many people choose Disney themed layouts.
Other, 5/5. Yup! Nice! Great! Wonderful! But don't put too many Blu Luna links!

Friday Layouts

First Impression, 15/20. To tell you the truth, my first impression of this site wasn't too good. The banner took up most of the screen, and the banner doesn't quite match the white background. Plus the colors are kind of bland.
Updates, 7/10. You're just like me. You don't update very much. XD (excuse the smiley)
Content, 18/20. Wow, you have an nice variety that people might like to use! Just add some more and you'll be on your way! Also, some of the stuff wasn't made by you so I had to take a point off for that.
Grammar, spelling, 5/10. Ouch. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but you have a lot of misspelled words on your site. For instance, "averything" is spelled everything, and "stoll" is spelled stole. "Stollin" is spelled stolen. Yes, I'm picky about this section!
Quality, 7/10. I'm sorry to say, but your blends are just sort of slapped together. They're not really blands much at all. I suggest you look at a few blend tutorials and go from there.
Organization, navigation, 9/10. Pretty good, but the previews don't tell much about the layout you're going to get.
Layout, 7/10. Like I said before, the banner is too big and the colors are kind of weird.
Uniqueness, 3/5. There really isn't anything special here, but I like the "taxi cab" idea.
Other, 5/5. It looks like you really care about your site and put work into it!

First Impression, 20/20. Wow! I love how everything just kind of goes together. Plus, I love how your guild home page has that professional look to it.
Updates, Activeness, 10/10. You don't have an updates place. But, I had to give you full points for this because three members were online right when I started reviewing!
Content, 20/20. Everything was put together very nicely, and there was quite a bit of role play! The members are friendly as well.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Great! At least I couldn't find any mistakes on the webbie or the home page!
Quality, 10/10. All of the members were advanced role players, and I'm sure of it because it showed in the role play. I'm sure you have great members with great quality role playing skills. Plus all of the pages had a nice layout to them and clear explanations of how the guild works.
Organization, navigation, 9/10. Eventually I learned how to get around, but I hadn't noticed the navigation bar at the top of the webbie. Maybe you should add those links to the homepage too?
Layout, 10/10. I love the layout! Like I said before, the colors go together well and it looks very professional. I love the fox picture you used, it's very clear.
Uniqueness, 5/5. I've seen fox role play before, but your plot was very unique, so I gave you full points for that.
Other, 5/5. Your guild was found only about a week ago, and yet it looks like it's been there for months! How you did that, I guess I'll never know, but I must say that it is truly amazing. I would definitely join your guild if I had an account to do so on.

Microsoft Paint Guide

First Impression, 18/20. I've always been bothered by even the slightest thing such as the side borders' color not matching the background. I understand that the lighter part is supposed to stick out, but the background of
that is what bothers me. I don't think it looks very good if it's a different color. I know you probably used MS Paint, but you can probably get closer colors if you tried. Other than that, the banner was well made and the other colors match. Another problem you might want to take a look at is that you have to scroll down a bit for the guide to actually start. Maybe consider putting the navigation in a sidebar?
Updates, 5/10. What, no updates? I let you keep some points because with a guide like yours, you don't really have to update that much, but I still you think you should.
Content, 19/20. You explain things very clearly, and your finished products are very nice. Just for extra measure, I got my friend to draw something using your guide and it actually turned out better than she normally draws. There is something I want to bring up though: this guide would only work for Microsoft users. It's not for Mac or any of those other ones.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Good for you! I saw no grammar or spelling errors.
Quality, 10/10. Like I said before, the finished product always come out great.
Organization, navigation, 9/10. I like how your navigation all links to the correct place. The only problem is, once I go down, I have to scroll to get back up to the navigation. See if you can add links to go back to the top.
Layout, 9/10. Everything is in the right place, but that background problem still bothers me...
Uniqueness, 3/5. I've seen guides like yours before, but yours includes a lot of extra stuff the others don't have. For example, the others don't have a GIF Animator tutorial in their MS Paint tutorial, now do they?
Other, 5/5. You show that you really can make great art in Microsoft Paint!

The Graphic Factory

First Impression, 19/20. You're site looks very simple and professional! The colors match well, and everything seems to be aligned correctly. Your page didn't take to long to load, either. The only thing I would change is the banner. A lot of people use the same picture you used on the left, and it's getting a bit repetitive. Try to go with a more unique picture to use, or possibly even draw your own!
Updates, Activeness, 10/10. No problems here! You update frequently and you actually
have a place for updates. Great work!
Content, 18/20. You have a growing amount of layouts to choose from, and everything looks good. I would definitely choose one of yours if I wanted a premade pet page. The only thing I suggest, though, is that you make the words on some layouts stick out more. For examples, there is the green cybunny, ixi with fire, and water faerie layouts could all use a little fixing.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Perfect, no chatspeak!
Quality, 10/10. Everything looks great! Nothing seems blurry, and every code works! The only problem is that some layouts have white surrounding certain parts of them. For instance, the wocky in the first one.
Organization, navigation, 10/10. Everything has a place, and everything is in it's place. All of your navigation links work, so I must give you credit for that as well!
Layout, 9/10. I love it! Still, I'd suggest changing the left picture of you're banner.
Uniqueness, 5/5. There really isn't anything special about your site, but some of the text on the layouts I haven't really seen around. I especially like the "Slimy Slorgs" one. Yay, alliteration!
Other, 5/5. Your site has great graphics and something about it has always lured me to your site.

Zoloia's Flashing Blinkies

First Impression, 18/20. It looks pretty good, but the sidebar is too far away from the main part and the "Extra, Extra, Click All About It!" thing stretches down the header space and does not look good. I do like the colors though!
Updates, Activeness, 10/10. You update pretty often.
Content, 17/20. You have a lot of custom blinkies, but not so many Neo Blinkies. Consider adding more of those. You should change the phrase for the royal one to "Faerie" or change the picture to a royal pet, since the phrase and the picture don't exactly match.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. I saw no spelling or grammar errors!
Quality, 7/10. Some of the blinkies get very pixelly. For instance, the one for cheynic0le and the one for indian_pack_of_wolf3 seem pixelly to me. On some of the pictures the border is messy, like the Royal one and the one for shikasgirl77.
Organization, navigation, 10/10. I like your navigation section in the sidebar. It makes it fairly easy to get around!
Layout, 8/10. I like the colors a lot, but like I said before bring your two sections together. Also, once you get down to the Affie section, the header and content stretches out too far.
Uniqueness, 5/5. I haven't seen too many blinkie sites! Yours was actually the first I went to.

Updates, Activeness, 10/10. Seeing that you updated both yesterday and the day before that, I'll give you full points for this.
Content, 20/20. Everything is based on popular video games, movies, etc. You even have some pets mixed in to keep it in the spirit of neopets.com.
Grammar, spelling, 10/10. Perfect! I found no mistakes and no chatspeak.
Quality, 9/10. Some of your black and white images get a little blurry, so I had to take a point off. But other then that, everything is great!
Organization, navigation, 10/10. Everything has a place and is in that place. Your navigation leads to specific places, and visitors barely have to scroll around to find what they are looking for.
Layout, 9/10. I adore the colors! They work together nicely. Oh, and I especially love the moogle... he's so cute! The only thing I would fix is the black area around the moogle... it's kind of choppy and it doesn't exactly look good.
Uniqueness, 5/5. I love the name Shattered Crystals... it really stands out from the crowd.
