Volcano Run II Guide

If you are reading this, I am naturally assuming you would like a guide for the spectacular new game, Volcano Run II. In this game, you play Glubgar, a Tyrranian scorchio trying to escape a volcano. This game is slower than the last game, yet somehow just as challenging. It is quite easy to make a few thousand nps off this game every day.

Controls
The controls are a bit strange to get a hang of, but very useful. Instead of using the spacebar to slow down, you will be using the "c" key. Use the "v" key to speed up a bit. Clicking the mouse (and holding it!) will make Glubgar rise a bit more towards the top of the screen. Releasing the button will make him slowly descend.

Things to Watch!
Do not touch the red portions of the screen on the top and bottom, you will lose a life. Touching the brownish rocks around the cave will make you die, too. There are what seem to be skeletons around the cave, also, so don't hit those! Fire balls will shoot out randomly, sometimes in groups of two or three, so be wary of them. You have three lives, but you will need all of them if you want a good score.

Good Things
There are also a few bonuses during the game. There are yellow gems scattered around the game, which are always in groups of three. There will rarely be a clear or red bar as one of the gems, which gives 20 points. The yellow gems are worth 10 points. This may not seem like much, but bonuses are everything in this game. You might see a bubble floating through the cave, and if you hit it you get a shield for a limited amount of time. These little things can make you or break you when it comes to a game like Volcano Run II!

Scoring
You are scored in a completely different way than the original version of Volcano Run. Unless you are a math wiz, it is almost impossible to know what score you're getting until you get the dreaded "Game Over" screen. Like I said before, yellow gems are worth 10 points, and rare bars are worth 20. Every meter you fly is another point. Bonuses and meters are added seperately, and you will get 100 np for every 100 points you score in the game. Not bad!

Strategies
Well, this is a GUIDE, right? So I'm going to give you some pointers. ^^ OK, onto the help. If you see a fireball coming your way, I recommend slowing down and getting above or below it and then speeding up. If you are in a tunnel, slow down as much as you can and when you get a chance, RUN FOR IT!!! Never hold the X key for more than necessary. You definitely don't want Glubgar to be pressed all the way up against the right edge of the screen. How will you know when fireballs are coming? :) Try to stay in the center of the screen so you have room to move. Collect as many gems as you can, but don't risk a life for it. If two fireballs are coming your way, get down pretty low or up really high to avoid them. Follow these tips and you'll be great at the game in no time! Final Things
There is an avatar for this game! If you score over 1500 (quite high!) you wil be awarded with this spiffy avvie:
*ooh, shiny!* OK, enough drooling over the pretty avvie. If you type "glubgar" (no quote marks!) during the game, you will receive an extra life. (now you'll have four) As of 12-12-06, you need just a little more than 1,500 points to get onto the trophy sceen- erm, earn a trophy. Have fun and good luck playing!
