Reasons to Have Happy Pets

Happy and healthy Neopets are important to have. You always want to keep your pet well fed and healed from any sicknesses because there are certain benefits that come from it. Aside from showing off your pet's glamorous smile, happy pets can bring you better random events! It's your pet's way of expressing it's gratitude. This will help out plenty already!

When your pets are happy it also prevents the Red and Blue events that effect any of the sad or angry pets on your account. If you see an event that says "Something has happened! Erm... (Your pet) looks a little... angry. Don't you think you should keep him/her happy?" or "Something has happened! (Your pet) doesn't look very happy. In fact, he/she looks downright Blue. Maybe a toy would help." you know that you're in trouble. Of course at this point, a toy won't help the depression of your precious pet. It is now colored red or blue until you repaint. Now all that money you just spent on your royal paint brush went down the drain.

How to Keep Them Happy

To avoid the unfortunate events listed above you must keep your pet's mood above fine. How? Well it's easy! Just follow these steps to a happy pet.

» Check to see if your pet's hunger is at least above "not hungry". If it's any thing below take a quick stop at the food shop and buy your poor pet a snack.

» If that doesn't work visit the Quick Reference to make sure your pet hasn't caught a bug. If it is all clear go ahead and move on to the next step, if not you need to heal your pet! (More about this later)

» If your pet still isn't feeling very great it probably needs a toy. Toys like a Hifflo Yoyo and a Starry Koi Wind Up Bath Toy are very cheap. Maybe they will bring up their spirits! Still not working? Try a grooming item like a Evil Hair Clip or a Golden Moon Comb. If it still isn't working, well then your pet is very picky! Luckily you've probably only spent 2 neopoints. The last thing to try is the Merry-go-Round found in Roo Island. It costs 50 neopoints for each ride. It may take several to bring the happiness up all the way.
