-||Humble Introduction||-
You must rememeber life is an adventure, a story book if that is how you would like to put it. In all books, there are hard times and good- always a conflict. Some end, and some never- others are not even known till the end. As well as conflicts there are those sweet moments of happiness cheer and love. No one can forget a story, and no one can forget a life.
This is Arresyn's life.

from abandoned to admired
Arresyn was hideously mutated. Because of attention lacked while an egg he was malnourished, sickly and small. He had three hind legs and one front leg- and lacked pupils, being partially blind. At his hatching ceremony his parents were discouraged at the newborns hideousness and refused to show hom love due to the dragon's haughty nature. However, it was also pride that had them take care of their hatchling since a dragon that abandoned their hatchling they would be looked down upon.
That is why Arresyn was a lie. The parents put their pride at risk and lied about this egg saying it never hatched and from then on the hatchling was never allowed to see day light.
Years went by... Exactly five. For a dragon, one human year was four to them- A year being one season. Arresyn and his brother egg mate had now reached the age of 20.
Korometaki was the pride of the dragon village- being strong, bold, handsome and wise. At his appearance others would bow to him- and always compliment him. Young ones and hatchlings would go to him for advise and he would smile and tell them each exactly what they want to know.
Arresyn was a quiet and shy dragon. He was not able to walk well at all so he was bound to the darkness reading silently with the scrolls of the dragon. He learned forgotten codes- methods of breathing fire, flying and much more. However he wanted to leave to the light he was forbidden. Being loyal he always obeyed his parents and paid to his studies.
One day however his excitement got the best of him. He had to go outside. Stumbling he limped on his oddly shaped body to the outside of the den and poked his head from the darkness.
Younglings saw him and smiled. "Koro Koro!" They giggled obliviously lacking manners slightly and came up to the shy imposter. Arresyn, never seeing any other dragons besides his brother and parents gasped and slipped back into the darkness. The younglings stopped in their tracks, only looking to the creature that fled from them.
That isn't like Komo at all..." One blinked his shining blue eyes to his friend. His friend nodded. "True..." She looked to the den and crept closer. "Komo please come out? We want to ask you how to breathe purple fire!!"
Arresyn lightly blushed from embarrassment and shyness. He slunk deeper into the darkness and comfort- yet wanted to come out and speak! He knew that technique so well- but he couldn't.. he was forbid... But he couldn't resist and he cleared his throat.
Luckily for him he had the same voice as his brother. "Do you know how to breathe regular fire...?" He softly spak- then spak louder and more bold to seem like his brother. The younglings ;laughed and both spak at the same time playfully. "Yup! Uh-huh! Yes! Teach me- us- please?!" The voices joined at the last phrase and then the pounced each other.
Arresyn could barely see them and smiled from what blurred little view he had. He then explained quite clearly. "Now.. this is our secret." He smiled slightly, then frowned. "Never tell a soul what you have learned. When the younglings asked why- he told them that adults should not know that they couldn't breathe purple fire. Still more questions came and Arresyn answered full of Guile. When the children where satisfied they left- leaving Arresyn to have a new feeling.
Happiness.. becoming helpful.. He loved it and wanted to help more Dragons with his knowledge.. He just had to get out of his home with his parent's permission.
Mother? Father..?" He asked when they had come back from a successful hunt. Stumbling on his only frontal leg he limped and then sat in front of them awkwardly on his three hind legs. "Why can't I go outside?" It was the first time he had really ever asked that question- and his parents became furious.
You are hideous." They told him coldly. "No one wants to see a creature like you- blind. Deformed. Thin. Sickly. Pale.. Ugly."
The words ringed in the large strong and sensitive ears of Arresyn and he was in deep thought. "I understand." He whispered slightly, standing up and wobbling. He then limped back into his dark corner to read more.
For months he wandered about his deformities and if he could learn a little more on this.. and if he could cure himself.. Sadly, he found nothing and took matters to his own hand- by slicing off his unnecessary appendages.
Now he had two back legs and one frontal. He would have sewn on the hind to the frontal accept for the anatomical differences sing core arms were longer then back. He had no idea what to do- then decided to build himself a fully functional arm.
So from some of the ore and iron Arresyn found dug deep in the walls of the deeper cave he was able to mold an arm using my flames and knowledge of dragon anatomy. Of course, it's just a metal arm to support my weight... I have no nerves in it so he was unable feel anything- both good and bad side affects of the new arm.
After months of hiding he decided to show himself to his parents. "Mother? Father?" He asked again, their backs turned. They faced him- in awe of his new state. He smiled shyly by the attention. "I'm not ugly anymore.. may I please go out?"
His parents still defied him- the haughty nature of the elder dragons refused to believe this fact. Also.. they had rose this hatcling to an adult in secrecy.. if he suddenly had shown up the other dragons would wonder how this new villager had came. "No- you are still not allowed." The father responded and turned his back.
The mother showed less of a firm action with a weak smile and turned around, both backs turned to their hatchling's attempts to not be 'ugly'.
Arresyn continued to study and gain knowledge. He learned physiology, biology, quantum physics, Calculus, Literature, and even 5 different languages of the dragon. Yet in this quest for knowledge he still never learned why his parents refused to let him outside.
In later months, Arresyn was now 24. He had definitely healed his scars and wounds from his 'surgery' and had become very handsome- though he was still convinced he was hideous. Sighing he would sneak out at night- disobeying his parents just to look at the moon. It was so beautiful, bright, and alone.. like him. He would stay and stare unless he heard a noise or the sun began to rise. He would then hide back into the safe quarters of his den.
Yet one night that had all changed.
arresyn was minding his own business, studding in the moonlight. A little firefly landed on his nose and he smiled to it, snorted and let it fly off. He continued to read.
Then from the bushes came those two younglings, that had now grown up to teens. "Oh-- Korometaki..." Each bowed as Arresyn twitched and knew he couldn't flee- it was too late. He decided to act best as his brother and hid his metal limb with wings tucked over to his most of his unrecognized features. The teens plodded up to him respectively. "Korometaki...?" The male asked in a deepened voice from age, "... We have to ask you something.. Our mother is sick..." The female nodded. "We don't know. why.. she's been hiding it though and we are really scared..."
Arresyn blinked and looked to the hopeful children. "Please.. tell my the symptoms." He boldly and deeply responded, wanting and loving to help those in need. The two teens gave a nod. "Mmm..." He sounded, eyes still fixed on Arresyn. "She's been delirious... Tired... And coughing black fire and ash."
To this Arresyn gasped softly and he knew what the problem was. "Hatchlings... This is not good news." He spak softer and more serious then he already was. "The flame jugular in your mother's through must have been cut. It is burning her esophagus.. there is nothing that can be done. The fire will spread and she will continue to cough ashes of her internal organs." He was very depressed saying this, but continued. "she's not going to live..."
Gaspign loudly and stepping abck the teens looked very scared. "But- What will WE DO?!" He screamed in horror. "Our mother is EVERYTHING for us!!!!!!" Areesyn became frightened since others may wake up and see him. He stood up and obliviously revealed his metal limb, shining in the moonlight. He had nothing o say as the two teens continued to gasp and scream- and notice. "You aren't Korometaki!!! IMPOSTER!!!!" The both screamed and ran away.
Arresyn's heart beat loudly and he felt in his long narrow throat. 'Great.. what can I do..?' He knew his only option was to run.. but he would be found easily. He could fly but he never did that before. At every passing second sounds awoken of other dragons that would discover him- what would his parents think?! He was panicking but calmed. 'Think...' He told himself mentally then closed his eyes, relaxing his body and remembering how his book said to fly. He spread his wings out largely and then crouched. Moments later he sprang and caught the wind- soaring swiftly in the cold chilled night.
He wasn't cought by anyone.
He was now free- but he knew he could never return home without facing his parents. There was responsibility and loyalty... But there was also fear and discipline. Arresyn had no idea what to choose as he flew in the skies- now a distance from his village. What was worse is he had no idea where he was. This was his first time out in the real world. He lost altitude, but flapped his wings harshly and rose higher. Now he let his wings still and he was gliding, flying like a professional even if it was his first time. He enjoyed the scents of the wilderness and everything.
Soon his stomach became empty and he was weak. Flying took lots of energy from him and he needed to replenish his supply or starve. Landing on the ground he had to find food and knew he was carnivorous but never hunted before! He was like a little newly hatched duck, though he was clearly an adult. He had no idea what to do, but then had to hunt.
Arresyn never read about hunting and he trusted alot on his knowledge, never his physical strength. It was a huge step into the new life and he couldn't turn back because he was being pushed forward endlessly. Then- fate! He saw a cow grazing in the feild.
At this sight Arresyn bcame excited and liked his sharp fangs with his forked tongue and lightly growled as he crocuhed. It seems he instantly preditorial and pushed all his acedemic teachings away.

Farewell, you shall be missed forever. However, will you miss this noble creature? No. You never will. Keep his story close to your heart and you will never forget. Hopefully from his sacrifice you have learned the true power of how one's mind does outweigh brawns. How willingness can save a whole race from extinction.
Good bye.
