Welcome to my application for Mea the Grey Eyrie! I hope you enjoy reading.
As you may notice, some of the images on this page are slightly distorted, to fix this, simply drag and drop them to the address bar.
This page works best in IE, it has a large amount of blank space on the bottom and in both FF and Opera, and no music in FF.

Introduction

You are walking along the beach on a cool summer's day, taking in the amazing scenery. The colors are simply breathtaking. You stare out on the horizon, gazing upon that giant painting in the sky that most people call a sunset. The sun's reflection seems to be swimming about in the waves, and the crisp sea air feels good in your mouth. Suddenly, a huge wave starts to form, not too far off. You don't notice it, because all of your attention is on the sky. You do take notice, however, when you find yourself sopping wet, shivering on the beach. "What was that?" you say out of sudden shock. You're now sitting down, much closer to the water than you would've liked to be, after being carried there by the wave.
A-A-ACHOO!
You hear something of the sort not too far off, seemingly coming from the water. The sneezing continues until you get to your feet, and stare out in the direction you believe the noise is coming from. Then, far out in the water you see a rather out-of-place spot of orange. It gets bigger, and soon you see different shades of blue, even some maroon and purple. The creature eventually comes to shore, and you realize it's an eyrie.
H-hello there? you almost ask, taking him in.
He's pretty young, seemingly in his teens. He is obviously a maraquan eyrie, proven by the large tail he bears instead of two back legs. The tail ends in a furry, dark maroon tip, similar to his mane. On his back is a shark-like fin, and he is also wearing silver plates on his front legs, along with a necklace with a small arrow on it. What really stands out about him is his beak. It is an extremely dark purple, with a blue stripe on it, similar to the ones of his face and tail.
I'm sorry, did I get you wet? he asks with a tone that you can't help but mark as innocent.
Ooh, it's okay.
Now, where had that come from? It most certainly is not okay. You are soaked, and you don't even have anything to dry off on. Not to mention the fact that you are over a mile from the hotel you are staying at, with no money to pay for any kind of transportation. This boy looked far too innocent to lash out on though, not to mention the fact that he truly seemed like he hadn't meant to. Wait. How had he done that anyway? The logic finally crawls its way into your mind. You've never heard of any creature that could produce such a wave, and you certainly couldn't wrap your head around how this little thing had done it.
Wait, uh, you mean you made the wave?
It sounds even more odd when you say it aloud.
Uh, yeah. I didn't mean to, I promise.
The look on his face somehow manages to find its way to your very core. This kid had definitely mastered the puppy dog look, that's for sure.
Huh. Do you have a name? you ask, still stunned at the fact that he had been capable of making that thing that had drenched you.
Ooh, I'm-
Ozzie!
he gets cut short by another eyrie that had been sitting up on the hill, obviously female. How had you not noticed her? You've been there for at least a half hour. As she walks down the hill, you get a better look at her. She is a sight, beautiful aqua blue eyes, seemingly as deep as the ocean itself. Her fur is a grayish blue, pastel green, and extremely thick. There are light purple stripes on her wings, and her wing feathers vary from the same blue as her body, to an extremely light pastel green, to a green that is somewhat darker. Her beak is purple like the other eyries, except it is a different shade. A purple marking on either side of her face almost completes the look, but that's not even what draws your eyes in. Going all the way down her back are extremely vibrant colored speckles, which seem to shimmer in the fading light.
Please excuse my brother, the eyrie starts, almost with a shred of disappointment in her tone, He hasn't quite learned to keep his cur- err, ability under control yet, he's young still. After finishing, she shoots a rather cold look at Ozzie, one that almost makes you feel bad for him.
Excuse my manners, I'm Mea.
She dips her head slightly, and then puffs out her fur and wing feathers a bit.

♥ Solitude-
Ah, to get away from the chaos of everyday life. It's nice to just be able to sit alone and watch the clouds go by, that's what I like to do most.
♥ Sunsets-
Ooh, the colors of a tropical sunset! They're the ones I like to use the most on a fresh canvas. It's easy to lose yourself in all of the different hues.
♥ Ozzie-
He may be a pain, but he is my little brother of course! I do wish he would stop splashing me while I'm painting though.

Chaos-
It's so much noise that makes my head spin! You can't concentrate on anything other than trying to stay out of the way, as not to get run over, one big headache it is.
Overcast days-
It's far too easy to be glum during days like that. It's also next to impossible to get any inspiration for my paintings then.
Rain-
Not to mention the fact that is usually brings dreary coulds with it, it's just so darn wet! I dislike water in general, but rain has even more cons to go with it.

Story

So… you sit back, leaning against a tree.
Your clothes are starting to dry, and the sand still feels warm from the hot summer sun beating down on it all day.
What's your story then? I don't mean to pry, but you seem to have sparked my attention.
My story? Oh, no, you're not prying at all. In fact, it's been a while since anyone's ever been so interested in me.

1. The Lonsome Beginning

I was born into a small clan of eyries, one said to wield certain abilities. I'm sure Ozzie's has become obvious by now, having the ability to manipulate the waves as he pleases, or doesn't please. He hasn't quite gotten it all figured out yet. My mother, the lead female, had the ability to control the fruit that grew. She could make any kind of fruit grow in an instant any time she pleased, and it was an amazing thing to watch. Not to mention the fact that no one in the clan ever went hungry. My father, the leader, had one of the most frightening abilities I've even seen; he could make fire sprout from the earth. He'd usually leave a trail of desolation behind him, although it did come in handy on cold winter nights. When he was angry was the most frightening, especially knowing the fact that he could strike you down right then and there if he wanted. Mine is…uhh…well, I haven't exactly found mine yet; I do rather enjoy painting though.

When I was born, everyone was ecstatic that there was a child in the lead family of the clan. I was firstborn of course, so they were relieved that they would have someone to lead them after their current leaders passed on. Everyone thought I was lovely, especially my eyes and speckles. I grew up in bliss, happily awaiting the time when my ability would be revealed to me.

I started growing wary around a year old though, as most young eyries had found their strength by now. The elders and my parents were growing impatient as well; how were they to use a leader that didn't have one of our clan's prized abilities? The other children started acting strange around me, like I wasn't worthy to play with them. My father also came to have an extremely quick temper with me, as if the fact that my ability hadn't come in was my fault.

So, of course everyone was ecstatic when Ozzie was born. They didn't care that he had a large tail instead of two back legs. They all said that he was cuter than the first, and obviously must have an ability; going on his appearance. Sure enough, it was proven within three months of his birth. He nearly wiped out half of the clan, but no one cared. One of the leaders had a useful child. In turn, I was forgotten; shunned. No one cared about me now that they had someone to guide them once their current leaders got old, so I left.

Family

Hoku tells me that she has two seperate plots in the black hole that she calls a brain. She says I'm in the Quad plot, and The other plot is her Anthro/human plot. So, she devided the family section into two plots according to which plot the pet is in. I've met almost all of the people in the quad plot, but I've only heard stories about the ones in the anthro one.

Quad plot

Aubrey
She's a hoarder, she'll take your glass, any kind of metal, and any nice looking rocks. She even ended up taking my brother's staff once! You can't really blame her though, she doesn't know any better. She's really sweet once you get to know her, a bit immature maybe, and she might still end up with your wallet, but she really makes up for it with her charm.

Baylee
He is a vain little Lipizzaner uni. He's a bit on the aged side, and retired from showing. He won't accept it though, and will never pass up an opportunity to show off. He can be as stubborn as a mule as well, if he doesn't want to do something, he's not going to, no matter what you do.

Ron
He's not the cheeriest fellow you've ever met, but he's all right. He's awfully lonesome and doesn't have many friends, him being eighteen centuries old and all. He's really sweet once you get to know him, and he's actually very agreeable. He'll be there ready to help when it really counts.

Osmyl
See here, this is my brother! He has the odd ability to control the waves of the sea, but he doesn't quite have it under control yet. He'd be setting off tsunamis all over the place it didn't stop him from sneezing half the time. All in all he's a pretty good brother, and he's always there for me when I need him.

Rhaider
Oh my, Raid is a life saver. Ever since she met Ozzie she's been helping me keep his ability under control. Now I can actually relax and stop for a breath every once in a while! She's a great friend with a noble cause, and quite frankly I don't know what I'd do without her.

Dreamer
Dreamer doesn't live far from me at all. In fact, her village is about a ten minute walk from my hill. She's one of the most peculiar people I've ever met, but I have to admit that I love listening to her singing. She's found some way to sing with more than one tone at the same time! I'll never understand it, but then again I am tone deaf.

Anthro/Human Plot

Zeth
Zeth tends to be down in the dumps a lot. He hasn't had the happiest life, although his sister hasn't either, he didn't take it in stride like she did. He doesn't like to be alone, but he can be quite the character when he's out with his friends. He's normally quiet, and loves playing the guitar and singing for people.

Lizzie
Lizzie's a pro skater that you don't want to mess with. She can defend herself without a problem, unless there's unfair stakes in it. She's normally happy and friendly, and she'll never abandon someone when they need her. She doesn't have the best grades like her brother, but she tries her best and never fails to rise to a challenge.
