Welcome to Neopian Royalty, a directory for Neopia's finest, pets who have been lucky enough to be painted royal. Please, take the time to look around, and meet some of the most handsome and beautiful pets in all the lands.

This directory lists only pets intended to be kept by the owner. Please do not contact the owners of these pets asking if their pet is up for adoption or trade, unless otherwise stated by the owner.

A * next to the name of a pet means that he or she is an unconverted pet.

To get your pet listed here, all I require is that your pet be painted royal when you contact me, that you plan on the pet staying royal (no cross-painted pets please), and for the pet to be a permanent pet (ie not up for adoption or trade). Neomail me, arkurion, with the name, species, and gender of your pet, and I will add your pet as soon as I can. A link back using one of my buttons would be appreciated, but is by no means necessary.

Sept 29, 2011: Became affiliates with Waveriders and the Tonu Directory. The first royal morphing potions were released today! You can now morph your pet into a royal boy or girl kyrii. I will be updating the section on how to get a royal pet soon.

Sept 8, 2011: Got listed at Affinity and Cloud Fourteen. Added 23 pets and 3 pieces of artwork. Made a semi-decent button for the site. We now have over 100 pets!

Royal Pets

Royal has been an extremly popular colour since its release in 2004. The first pet to be given the royal treatment was the zafara, quickly followed by the Gelert, the Aisha, the Scorchio, the Cybunny, and many others. Today, there are only 6 species that cannot be painted royal, with the most recent addition to the royal family being the Bori, which was released in royal form on November 15, 2011.

As you are browsing around Neopia, you may come across certain royal pets that look different from most. In 2007, all neopets were redrawn to make them customizable, however some pets were given the option to keep their original artwork. These pets are known as unconverted, or UC, pets. There are 20 royal pets that can be found in a UC version.

So, how can you obtain a royal pet? Currently the only way to get most species outside of trading is to purchase a royal paint brush and take your pet to the Rainbow Pool.

Royal paint brushes are sold in the Hidden Tower for 1,750,000 neopoints, or can be bought off other users via the Trading Post or Auctions. On September 30, 2011, TNT announced the release of the first royal morphing potions, which restock at Kauvara's Magic Shop. Currently, they only exist for the royal boy and royal girl Kyrii, so for all other species a paint brush must be used.

Your prince or princess can also have a royal companion, the royal petpet paint brush having been introduced on May 27, 2011. There are currently 21 species of petpet that can be painted royal.
