Introduction

Daydreaming, you meander the streets of Neopia. You're not really looking where you're going, and you only snap out of your daze when you collide with someone. You wince as you rub your backside -- that's definitely going to leave a bruise. You're just about to go on your way until you remember the other person. Glancing back, you realize that you've hit a faerie xweetok. He looks to be in his teens, his brown eyes staring up at you, white face shrouded by long teal locks. You feel a surge of pity for him; he looks quite helpless. You extend you hand out to him, and he takes it with a smile on his face.
´I'm sorry. I should've watched where I was going. I'm jashinistic, by the way...´
There's silence, and you think for a second that he's furious at you. But his expression says otherwise. He looks a bit... in pain?
´What's your name?´
Still silence. Then...
´You... can't speak, can you?´
He shakes his head, a sad smile present on his face. An idea strikes you. You hand him your notebook and a pen.
In beautiful script, he writes, ´My name is Alaquilione. It's nice to meet you, jashinistic.´

History

Born to the Leralonde family, Alaquilione was soon cast out by them once they had realized that this child could not speak. He lived in an orphanage from then on. However, he was the only child who was different. Because of this, he was often the target of ridicule, due to his inability to talk back. Although his caretakers at the orphanage struggled to help him learn to speak, the cruelty of the other children pushed Alaquilione further back into his shell. Yes, he was unable to speak. But more so, he was unwilling to speak. Alaquilione lived like that until one day, when he was 16.
´What're you looking at, freak?´ Alaquilione had only glanced at the lupe for a brief moment when he came through the main doors of the orphanage, but the lupe was in a horrible mood. He picked up Alaquilione by his collar and dragged him outside. He threw many punches, but they were not returned.
He moved in to do more damage to the xweetok when he heard someone shout from behind him. As the lupe turned around instinctively, Alaquilione seized his chance and ran, to the best of his ability, into the woods.
He stayed there for a week, until one day when an aisha came along.

´Oi. You okay?´
Alaquilione glanced up. A fairly tall brown aisha with long white hair looked down at him with one red eye. The other eye was hidden behind a wrap of bandages, the slightest hint of a scar peeking out from under them.
Please don't hurt me... Alaquilione thought.
´Not much of a talker?´ The aisha knelt down, examining the xweetok's face closely. ´Wow, you've gotten in a pretty bad fight. I hope you managed to land a few punches. I'm Atorii. You?´
Being mute, Alaquilione pressed his finger into the soft earth ground, tracing out letters. Alaquilione.
´Too long. I'll call you Lion.´ Atorii poked the bruise on Alaquilione's face, causing the xweetok to wince. ´Yeah, my first aid kid doesn't cover this much stuff. You'd better come home with me. You don't have a home, do you?´
It was more a statement than a question, but Alaquilione shook his head anyway.
Atorii sighed. ´Alright then, kid. You can stay with us for a while.´

Family

Aitoko - Alaquilione really enjoys spending time with his older sister. She is an amazingly cheerful girl, in his opinion, and her optimism seems to rub off on him at times. Though Aitoko is not the sharpest tool in the shed, she tries hard to help Alaquilione in learning how to speak. She is confident that as long as they try, he will someday be able to speak.

Atorii - Atorii is rude to most people, but he has a soft spot for Alaquilione. Though Atorii despises people who are weak, Alaquilione reminds him of who he once was. Finding Alaquilione in the forest, beaten, weak, and hopeless, was like stumbling upon himself from the past. Atorii has made it his mission to help Alaquilione toughen up a little.

Hikari_Sora_x - Sora, a quiet person by nature, enjoys Alaquilione's company very much, and vice versa. Though he does not speak much, the two do spend a lot of time together watching clouds go by, exploring the Haunted Woods, and whatever they can find to occupy themselves with.

Hotaruhi - Hotaru is not someone Alaquilione gets along with well. He's slightly intimidated of the overconfident aisha, and often avoids him around the house. Hotaruhi is indifferent about Alaquilione, and thinks of him as a bit of a weird one.

Anstiss - Alaquilione's relationship with Anstiss is very similar to his one with Sora. He also feels a slight kinship with Anstiss, as the both of them have been seen as freaks by the people they grew up with, the outcasts of their social circles.

JiinHai - Jin's not really someone Alaquilione knows all that well. He's slightly intimidating, like Hotaruhi. Jin seems like someone who's very strong, being a jiangshi hunter in training. He seems like someone who would eat people like Alaquilione for breakfast, and thus, he steers clear of him as well.

Tuloa - A very good listener, Tuloa's greatest personality trait goes to waste with Alaquilione. However, the two do enjoy each other's company. Often, Alaquilione will converse with her by using pen and paper.
