Vani's Introduction...
I'm sooo sorry for the inconvenience. I lost the code for the whole site. All I have is the art I did for readers, the names of the people I published, my story, and my mind. I have lost all graphics so it might take a while to get it all back. It will also take a lot of typing for the content to be back. I decided to change the layout due to loosing the layout. Thanks to my awesome friend Chewy I'm back on track with help. I suspect my next month we will be up and running again.
Reviewers put reviews on hold, listers I'm not closed, affies don't delete, visitors I'm sorry.
Fairy's Introduction...
A dark plague has infected the garden. Most creatures didn't survive the impact. The plague surprised our dragon guardians, leaving them barely alive. Our fairy sisters and brothers have been infected as well, made our population plummet. The survivors are currently silent and colorless. Gnomes and goblins are trying to rebuild the garden along with our caretaker Vani. Ours fairies are not ready for new homes yet so please don't ask. Hopefully our garden will be as full and colorful soon.
· . · . . ·˙· : ◇ Updates ◇ : ·˙· . . · . ·

January 30, 2011: Ah! Wow that's embarrassing. I just noticed that I was doing my updates dated last year! Well I fixed that and The Writing Garden is officially open for business again! I will change the intros above and I'll work on getting the link back buttons again. But for now I'm going to bed because its almost midnight where I am.January 29, 2011:
Wow rebuilding is going faster than I thought! I have most of the content done, but I still have 3 sections to do and the I'll just have the navigation suff just be anchored instead of multiple pages.
January 28, 2011:
Well I lost my code, if you haven't already read the intro. I am working hard on trying to rebuild this place and I've had a little help from Rika(with update box) and Chewy(with finding a new layout). By the way Thank You! ^u^ I am both sad and happy. Sad because well it's going to take a lot of work and time to get everything back, even though it won't be the same. Happy because I get a clean new start to my site, it might be even better than before.

.Resident of the Garden
The Fairy Clans
Root FairiesRoot fairies are also called earth fairies. Where ever they touch soil a plant of their choosing grows before your eyes. They can also control where roots of trees can spread. They can make roots come above ground to make their houses or hide outs. They are very important to the growth of the garden.
Beam FolkBeam Folk are also known as Light Fairies, but they prefer to be called beam fairies. They have the power to manipulate the beams of the sun onto plants or into the mist to create rainbows on a gray day. Beam Folk prefer things to be as happy and cheerful as possible.
Shadow LurkersShoadow lurkers are in constant argument with Beam Folk. They can find any sadness in every possible event. They control shadows and cold. Since the Beam Folk Bring the sun to the plants, they sometimes over do it so the Shadow Lurkers bring cold and shade on hot summer days eventually bringing autumn and winter. but then the shadow lurkers over do it so the beam Folk have to bring Warmth and light. The cycle has been going on for centuries.
Dew FaeDew Fae are a hybrid of water and flower fairies. Whole water and flower fairies don't exist anymore because they died out in the plague. But their talents live in their children. They are the ones who put dew drops on flower petals, grass, and spider webs. They also are the ones who close the flowers at night and open them in the day. to indicate a Dew fae, their hair is the softest of all, like a flower petal.
Dragons, Goblins, and Gnomes
There are two dragons. One lives behind the waterfall of the garden and the other a top the cliff over looking the land. They will alert the area and protect if they sense any harm. Gnomes will only survive if the garden's soil isn't tainted or ruined with weeds. They spend most of their time cleaning and taking care of the garden. Goblins are cousins of the gnomes. They are hermits and prefer to live outside of the garden in little huts with each other.

My Writing
(Dialogue)
Chapter 1: How it All Started
Today was as any normal day would be, school, the usual spirits roaming hopelessly, but what I didn't know was that was all about to change the day I saw Mahumat. When I was walking home from a rainy day of school, I tripped. I scraped my knee pretty bad, making a giant whole in my pants. It hurt pretty bad, but when I tried to stand I then froze in fear. Standing over me was an extremely interesting and chilling creature. He stood on two legs. With hooves of a goat, horns about the size of my arm, with several smaller horns around his head. Its face was rabbit-like, but hideous. Then I noticed he was covered with strange jewelery and hold an intricate staff with allot of swirls. The rest of it's body covered in blue fur. I didn't know at the time, but now my whole life would change.- |
Chapter 2: A Visitor
I sat there terrified as he spoke. You must come with me Gwen, for you are our only hope. I come from Zahara where there is Great War and our world will soon be consumed by hatred. I know you have power Gwen, great power inside you. The council and I can teach you great things and how to control it. Don't deny it, for I will keep coming back until you accept my request and accept yourself. I was terrified, none of the things I saw were as graphic as him and I only had one question as they quivered out of my mouth full of fear. Hhh-how do you know my name? As I said these words, a space behind the creature looked distorted, rainbow as it changed colors. He reached for my hand and stated his name, Muhumat. I didn't worry, the closest creatures ever came to her was about a foot, but what he did next turned me white. He picked up my hand, and helped me up. I will be back, keep in mind my request.Muhumat then stepped into the distorted hole and disappeared. The rest of the way home I was uneasy and shaking. What did he mean that he would be back? I couldn't help but feel I was being watched. Turning around I saw nothing but my own shadow.

The next day at school I opened my locker with caution hoping I wouldn't find some portal and pull me in. I know I know it's ridiculous but in my world you can never be too careful. Happy that i didn't find myself being pulled to another world, I closed my locker. I turned around and screamed, It was just Stephanie my best friend. She has medium red hair and always wore something matching. She was alarmed that I screamed in her face.
Umm, why did you just scream? said Stephanie Oh nothing, I thought I just saw a spider, but it's gone now... umm so what are you going to do for your science project? I said through a plastic smile.
I really didn't care I just needed to get that crazy Mahumat creature out of my head. He was probably just saying that to scare me... Or was he?

Once I got home, I was extremely tired from a long day at school. But I did see Muhumat at school today. In math class he was standing outside the window just standing there staring at me. It was really creepy, He didn't even move until the bell rang which was the cue for him to evaporate. This made me go bug eyed and run to the -blocked- He was gone, no-where in sight. Sadly my teacher gave me a detention for getting out of my seat before he excused us...its hard when you have no-one to relate to. That night it was an extremely huge thunderstorm. My mom and I got out a bunch of candles just in case the power goes out. In my room I was putting a candle by my bed when I burned myself. Holding my redding hand, the power went out. All I could see was the one flickering candle by my bed and the flashes of lightning. From one flash I thought I saw someone standing in the -blocked- Grabbing my candle I went to the -blocked- With the next flash, I saw what was definitely Muhumat. I wispered Why can't you just leave me alone? I can;t just drop everything and leave, I mean for all I know you could be just tricking me to go somewhere horrible like an eternal prison or something. And why do you keep following me? He just stood there staring at me with those yellow and green eyes. Then he spoke with a concerning and serious tone Once again, you are very special and I have come to bring you to Zahara and train you to become our savior. You are our only hope and I don't expect you to understand right now but in time you will learn to except yourself and learn good from bad and right from wrong. If you don't wish to come, I can at least show you my world. If you still don't want to come after I show you, I will leave you in peace
... Time passed, I had to take his offer. I mean if my world was ending I would probably be as persistent as him. But how could I trust him. In my mind do it or don't do it had a battled against each other. Do it won. I took hold of his hand and stepped through the portal.- |
Chapter 3: Choices
It felt weird walking through something you couldn't see. But once I was through, I was standing on the edge of a huge cliff. It was day time there, a perfect day compared where I just was. I took in the over-whelming surroundings, a nice green field with patches of wildflowers, with fading mountains in the background. What's that I see? OMG it's a castle in the middle of the field! Where am I Muhumat? And who lives in that castle? I said. You are in the heart of what is left of Zahara. This is the one place that is not yet affected by the war. You will be staying there with the royal family and the elders. Said Muhumat while pointing his staff towards the castle. We will teach you how to use your gift and help our world before it is consumed with darkness. I'm … Living…There? I said in an excited tone.
To think I will be staying in a castle! But I don't even know if I'm going to stay. Was all he saying even true? I have to see the ugly part now.
then I asked I want to see the rest of Zahara As you wish, remember this, stay close to me and you can't get hurt. Muhumat said very seriously.
What he said made me uneasy. He then looked at me for re-assurance. I nodded back. Muhumat then waved his staff up, down, left, then right. I felt something weird that I can't explain as he did this. Out of nowhere, Muhumat slammed the staff to the ground and in the blink of an eye my ears were full of screaming and booms. People and other strange other creatures were running past me. I could tell by both their faces and auras, they were terrified for their life. A woman ran past me holding a child. We touched hands just one flash of the future. OMG! She's going to die in a few moments! I then collapsed as I watched her as she ran to her doom. She was then taken into a cabin, with her baby thrown aside. I tried to run to get the helpless infant. Until Muhumat put his hand on her shoulder and had a terrified by re-assuring look on his face as he shook his head softly back and forth. I then gave up as I saw the trees burning and the sky charcoal black. Men in hefty armor held multiple weapons. I looked away as the shrieks got louder and louder. Just as I looked up I saw a giant fire bal hurling towards us. I screamed. Muhumat then shot his hands up, made a bunch of strange but complicated hand motions. The ball of horror then stopped in its place. Everyone froze gazing at us. Muhumat then swung his arms towards all of the soldiers. They all burst into flames. These people are safe...at the moment but we must go, I can't hide us for long. said Muhumat Just get me out of here! I shrieked with huge tears rolling down my face.Muhumat then grabbed my arm and pulled me into yet another invisible portal.
On the cliff I stopped crying and turned to Muhumat. What can I do to stop the war? First you can start your training with the elder's. Ok, but how are we suppose to get down there, climb?
That's when Muhumat turned to me. He had a smirk on his face that made me think you was going to do something crazy. When he touched my shoulder, I was then pulled into a vortex. I felt nauseous, and like my whole body fell asleep in a split second. Everything was a big grey blur. In another twist in reality, we were standing before the magnificent castle.
Muhumat turned to me with a mocking look on his face. Much faster way to travel, first times always the worst, you'll get use to it. I stood there feeling as nauseous as ever, glaring at him as he walked to the castle.
I looked up, it was even better up close. It had a huge wooden door which was a good twenty feet over my head. Right in front of me was a brass fairy door knocker with intricate designs. The castle itself was white with blue roofs. It was the kind of castle that I only saw in books. I then looked around the perimeter of the castle. There was huge gardens with flowers that only existed in my wildest imagination. What was that flying around the flowers? Fairies! Fairies were flying around the flowers, to think I was going to see fairies today. Then again, today has been pretty unusual. I just couldn't believe my eyes. A castle, fairies, portals… a horrible war. Muhumat, what will happen if we can't stop the war?
Then all is lost. But I know when you are fully trained you will be more powerful than even me, but you must learn before you can do anything. You don't have a high enough power to fight right now. But in time you will be more than prepared. Remember, keep on task, don't get distracted, and we won't turn out to be those poor villagers you witnessed today. A lot of pressure I thought. |
Chapter 4: The Royal Family
Walking in I noticed something that was nearly impossible… It was even more beautiful inside! Glossy wood floors, pearl-colored stairs swirling up to nowhere , and an old fountain with huge butterflies, dragonflies and other strange beautiful insects flying around it. As Muhumat showed me around some more, I saw that there were about twenty rooms just on the first floor, all with a different feel to it. As we came back to the main room, someone was coming down the stairs. First came a woman, I suspected she was the Queen. She was wearing a long, elegant, midnight blue dress. She wore her curly auburn hair in a bun with a crown with too many swirls to count. Then a man, who was probably the King. He was wearing a blue tunic with a swirl on the front. The king looked rather muscular. He had dark brown hair to hi shoulders, and a beard. Behind the king was a boy about 15 or so, that was probably the prince. He had brown shaggy hair and sand-colored skin. He was so handsome, and his eyes... Oh I probably looked like an idiot staring in them for so long. I started to blush. When I finally snapped out of it, I bowed. Muhumat looked over and rolled his eyes and gave the signal to stand up. Who is this we have here Muhumat?Said the Queen. This is Gwendolen, she is the chosen one, she has come here to start her training. You never said anything about the chosen one Muhumat? I said. Gwendolen, I am Queen Artemis, This is King Merdon. the Queen said while gesturing to the King. This is our son, Prince Brandon. Prince Brandon then bowed in my direction. I tried not to of how I looked.
Gwendolen you will learn in time why you were brought here, but first you must come with me.Said the King while walking up the stairs. I walked to the stairs trying not to stare at Brandon. We then went into a dome-like room with stacks of old, worn books. When I looked up expected to see a normal ceiling, but what I actually saw was what looked like a map but it was moving. I assumed it was the kingdom. Most of Zahara had turned gray with the darkness of the war. But there was only one area where it seemed untouched, the castle, I looked down with sorrow, how are we going to possibly going to stop this? Then I noticed the people at the other side of the room, hunched over a table. They turned around looking grim, then smiled when they saw me. King Merdon gestured to me. This is Gwendolen, she is who we have been waiting for. he gave a soft smile looking at me. A flicker of hope went across his face, but disappeared when he turned to the strangers. There was a woman, two men, and someone that just didn't look human. |

About Vani
Hi there! I see your interested about me. Well for starters my real name is Savannah, but you can call me Vani or Vanee. I am a 13-year-old nerd. I love books! Especially fantasy, science fiction, and adventure. I experiment with writing by creating my own world, but I don't actually know if I'm what you call a 'good' author but don't make any comments about my writing either. I have been told multiple times about how I'm an awesome artist, both on computer and paper. (trying not to honk my own horn here) I live on the wet coast of Oregon, where I have lived for almost my whole life. I prefer the quiet to loud(duh I live in Oregon, not the most popular or exciting state). I love Oregon anyways. It's beautiful and doesn't have too many big cities which preserves the natural beauty. I have a french bulldog named Puggie-Sue (I just love her!) and a bunch of cats that I can barely handle. (anyone need cats?)
