About this Layout
Your new custom layout is the handiwork of Monica at
Brilliant Secrets, using various resources that have been carefully attributed in the credits section of your sitely page. Please be sure to leave these intact out of respect to the artists who created them.
I have constructed this layout using the blue color and stripes as a background, the Neopets image as an element on top of the background, and the part of the Neopets image that overlaps the text box is separate and placed so that it "floats" above the text. This creates an interesting code dynamic that you should be aware of; in order to see all of the text on a page, you should be certain to put in 16 page breaks at the end of the content. Also, keep in mind that while the floating image doesn't prevent you from seeing the text beneath its transparent parts, but it does prevent you from clicking on links that are under it even if they are visible. This means that, again, you need to be careful that you put those page breaks in, and be aware that your visitors won't be able to click on links until they've scrolled far enough down that the link is completely above the floating image.
If you're not cool with that, I will refashion this whole thing for you so that it doesn't have a floating element! I just thought this looked cool, but again, it's up to you.
As for pages, you can and are welcome to add, subtract, and edit them. You should find that each of the first 4 pages below this code has a corresponding link in a DIV that has been conveniently labelled "navigationbox". This div also has a portion of code in the CSS section at the top, which tells it how to behave - as in, gives it the location it should sit on the page, its borders, what color its background is, and so on and so forth. Should you wish you take out pages, you may find that suddenly your navigation box is no longer centered. that's an easy fix; just go to the "navigationbox" portion of the CSS, find the line that says "left: #px;", and add like 50 to the number in that line. Play around with it until you get the box where you want it. Keep in mind that you are moving the box however many pixels away from the left side of the window; if you move it 1 pixel at a time, you won't see a difference. Pixels are very small! If you are lost on this, no problem - send me a neomail and I will help you right away. The pages linked on the right side of the layout (there are 21 of them) are all at the very bottom of the code, and the links can be found in the box labelled "subnavbox". Again, subnavbox has a CSS description in the top half of the code.
