Greetings, traveler. Are you staying long? I am. I am staying very long. After I left…how could I leave again? I'm sure you don't want to hear my boring tale…do you? Mmm…I shall tell you then.
It all began when I was very young. Just a month or so old, in fact. My younger sister, Kalina, and I were very good friends. We had three other brothers and sisters. Two were sisters, one was a brother. Often Kalina and I would go play in the bush, playing hide and go seek or tag. Our mother and father were extraordinary to us. They fed us and loved us…and we thought they were perfect.
One day Kalina and I were out playing, and I was hiding from her. I was in the bush near were my father was laying for a rest. I was watching him, waiting for my sister to find me. Something peculiar happened then. Three husky looking wolves approached him, their eyes glowing blood red. My father woke with a start, and then smiled at them. They were closing in on him, and he said, "Has the time come already? I was beginning to think I was falling in love with that fae."
"We thought you might want time to get to know your pups, see which one would be your heir," said the biggest of the three. My father brushed this statement away with a laugh, and he said, "I would know which one was my heir the minute he was born. Scar, I've never seen such ferociousness in a pup!" It was true. My oldest brother, Scar, was near evil. He would attack us and fight with us, but it wasn't play fighting as most pups do. He was all for real fighting, and he was strong, so we wouldn't be able to get away until Mother saw us and made him stop.
"So. We'll get to it, and spare the old one. When would you like it done by?" the second biggest one asked.
"Tomorrow, if possible," replied my father, smirking. "Finally that witch and her wimpy pups will be done with, and I can teach Scar all I know." I gasped at the next thing that happened – his eyes flashed red, the same color as the demonic wolves in front of him.
"Gotcha!" I heard from behind me. I jumped and turned and hissed. "SH! Come, listen." I pulled my sister in with me, trying not to make a noise. That attempt failed. My father heard us, and looked suspiciously over our way. He padded over slowly, and then pushed the bushes away. "YOU! Filthy little eaves-dropper!" he snapped at us. "Didn't your mother ever teach you not to listen to other conversations?!" We whimpered and backed away slowly. "That's right. But if you breathe one word to your mother about what you just heard, you'll be the first to go, and it wont be quick and painless, I promise you."
We jumped up and bolted, straight for the den. I could hear cackling from the wolves and my father behind us. When had he gone mad? Why was he going to kill his family? I could tell I would have to fill Kalina in, for she had walked in just at the end and had no clue what was going on.
Once we had safely arrived back at the den, I pulled her aside into the depths of the den and whispered to her, "Daddy is going to kill us!" I heard her gasp in front of me, and then short sobs began to erupt. "Shh, shh, you must be brave! We have to save mother! And our siblings. But we will not save Scar, for he is being spared anyway." So I told Kalina all that I heard, and she began to ask questions.
"When did Daddy become a demon?" she asked me. I shook my head. "Maybe he has been a demon all along…" "Surely not!" she said, refusing to believe it. I looked at her straight in her green eyes. "Kalina, you must trust me. We –have- to save them!" Slowly, Kalina nodded her head.
Unfortunately, the act occurred sooner than we had anticipated. I awoke with a start, to hear light footsteps. It took only a moment for my eyes to adjust, and I saw the three demon wolves, slowly surrounding my mother. I shook Kalina, but kept my paw on her maw, so she would not speak. She looked at me, and I pointed to the wolves. She nodded. Slowly we crept up behind the biggest one, and on the count of three, we leapt onto his back, digging our claws and teeth into his back and neck.
He yelped in pain and leapt backward, shaking vigorously. I shimmied up his back to his neck and I reached up and slashed across his eye. A howl emerged from his throat as he shook his head and tried to turn it 'round to see us. But Kalina was quick, and she slashed him hard across the throat, spilling much of his blood. Due to the pain and blood, he became dizzy and fell. But before we could get up, the other wolves were on us.
We tried to swat them away, but two small pups against two full grown demon wolves, there is no hope. But while their attention was on us, my mother had awoken and understood what was happening. She threw herself onto the second biggest one's back, and with one powerful stroke had brought him down with a wound to the side. All three of us advanced on the smallest wolf, but he knew he would not go down as his partners, and so he turned and bolted, glaring at our father as he passed him. Our father was just entering, and his eyes widened with horror as he saw us three alive, his other two companions lying dead on the floor.
"You fools! You have killed my helpers! Now I must kill you!" Our mother looked at him sympathetically. He saw this look and said, "Don't you give me that look you mutt!" And he lunged at her, swiping her across the face, bringing her down hard. Her breathing became labored and she sobbed silently. "Goodbye, my children," she said, before one last blow to her side left her lifeless body slowly growing cold on the ground.
We gasped, horrified at the death of our mother. We advanced on my father from behind as he towered over our dead mom, snickering. "Your life is now – ARRRRRRRRRRGHH!" Kalina was tugging on his ears, almost ripping the tips off, and I was yanking on his tail. I used my claws in my right paw to slam it down hard on his haunches. He spun around, but I was holding on tight, my claws dug in deep into his hind quarters. Kalina scratched him on the neck, leaving a gash that was spilling with his blood.
Like the first wolf, he grew dizzy and fell, collapsing under his own weight. We woke our sisters and told them we needed to run. All four of us ran over the dead wolves and past the sleeping Scar, in search of a safe place to stay.
We had run through the night and most of the next morning before we came to another pack, and there we stayed for a year or so, nurturing ourselves back to health. Once we were old enough, Kalina and I left our sisters, Samja and Kanlha in that pack. We ran for the nearest pack from there, wanting to be as far from our dead father and living brother as we could. That's when we came upon the Silver Crystal Wolf Pack.
Kalina and I found an empty den and made it our home…and I met the love of my life. Shadow Spirit. We became mates and I became alpha. We had our first litter of pups, Blue Flame and April, and we found two pups who needed a home – Star and Angel. Not long after another pup came to us, asking a mother and father, Lilla. We then had grown to a family of 8.
Kalina had found a mate and had a pup, Summer, who later found the love of her life, Falcon. But Falcon had left Summer with her four pups, and when they grew older, April and Summer and Kalina and Summer's pups all left to find another life.
Later, I left because my life has become hectic and I had run from my problems. But I realized, while out in the wild, that I had a family that I loved, and loved me, and I had to return to them. So I bolted all the way back to my pack, and though I may no longer be alpha, I'm still a father, and I still have my lover.
So that is my story, young one. I hope you have enjoyed it. And here is my piece of wisdom. Never run from you're problems. Face them like a true alpha.

Dear Diary,
I've just returned from a little trip I've made. I have discovered the most extraordinary area for secretistm. Next time I go there I shall bring you along, just because it would be the best place to keep to one's self without interruptions.
I have come to a conclusion that I wont reveal the location to you, in the assumption you may be handled and read by one other than myself. I will, however, explain it's wonderful contents to you.
The small clearing is surrounded very densely by forest; trees; bush; etc. This made it extremely difficult for me to find it, but once I did, I do believe my heart stopped, my breath was taken away. Spilling from pools of refreshingly cool water is a majestic waterfall, landing in a lake that ripples from the falling water. The reflection is so clear, one could (and would) mistake it for a mirror.
Aromas from surrounding flowers add to the serenity. I plan on asking Spirit to come with me next time I go. Perhaps I could patch things up. I want to start completely over, if that's what it takes to get her back, for I cannot ever love again. I know I've changed. I hate myself for it. If I could change back, I would do it in a second. Sadly, though, our trip will have to wait. Apparently, once I had arrived back, the pack was in chaos. Every packmember was searching for our-er-Spirit's dear Angel. Once again I got the horrible sensation of utter guilt for not being here for my pack.
Well the daylight is growing dim so I must end it there. Goodnight, sweet dreams.
Yours Truely, Differ.
