This is a guide on how I rate lookups. Everyone has their own way I suppose, but this I feel is a fair and consistant way to do it.

Why Rate?
People sometimes wonder, "Why do people want their lookups rated?" For me personally, I find the comments from other Neopets players the most helpful in finding out what I can improve on.

Rating Premades
Many people are shocked when they come to a rating board with a premade lookup and get a 0/10 when the asked to be rated. Asking to get your premade Rated isn't exactly a good thing. Basically you're showing off someone else's hard work and asking for a grade on it. That person will probably never know what that grade was, and aren't there to defend their own work. This is why a lot of people don't rate premades.
However asking others on the boards if they Like your premade lookups is alright in my opinion. Although no matter how awesome you think your lookup might be other's may have a different opinion. Just keep that in mind!

Numbers
Most of the time people ask for a rating on a 1-10 scale with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. That's what I'll cover here since it is the most common. Keep in mind, this is how I do things, you or others may feel the need to rate a different way.
1/10 and 2/10 - These are only used by me if a lookup is stolen and ther person is claiming to have made it on their own, or if I feel there was no effort put into the lookup at all. I rarely give these out.
3/10 - A default lookup with nothing added to it except maybe one or two pictures and some text. Nothing special is done to change font color or background.
4/10 - A default lookup with perhaps a background or just a text change. There might be some personal text and one or two pictures, but nothing else.
5/10 and 6/10 - Hooray! You have an average and decent looking lookup. Your background/font/theme all match. Something might be a little off though, and I ususally give suggestions here.
7/10 and 8/10 - Your lookup is very nice! It's better than most that I've run across, but not as good as some I've seen. I'm sure you could improve on something and I'll usually comment on here as well.
9/10 - A Lookup that simply PWNS. I don't give these out so much, so feel honored when I do :) If I see something I think you can improve on, I'll point it out, but most of the time I comment on things I think worked very well on this lookup.
10/10 - I think I've only every given out like 5 of these. Don't expect to get one unless you impress the socks off me. Usually the Graphics are simple outstading and the html/css is complicated, OR was used in such a way to create a pleasing and simple to navigate lookup layout.
