Blending

Are you ready to blend some images!? Lets get started. What we do first is we find two images that you would like to blend. I will be using theses two.



Make sure both your images are around 600 in width, becuase our banner will be 600. Now, make a new image by going to file-new. Change the width to 620 and the height to 300. Once you finish that, right click on one of the images you would like to use and go to layer-mask-add layer mask. Change the setting to black (full transparency) and click add. Dont worry your image will turn into a transparent image. Now go to your gradient (blend) tool. And do a straight line of your black and white gradient half way threw the image. Make sure you do the line to the right for this image. Repeat theses steps for your next image, but make sure you do the line to the left this time. Now, copy and mask one of the images into your plan white image you made when we first started. Move the image into your desired place. You need to put the one with the blend that is on the right in the left corner and the blend that is on the left in the right corner. Make sure your images are overlaping each other. Your image should look like this.



Its time to decorate your image! I just added some textures from Shizoo (which is a off neo site) and some text/borders. If you would like to see how to add all of theses effects please see my other tutorial, adding effects, which will be up shortly. Here is the ending image! Thanks for reading!

Making A Blog
So you would like to make a blog,eh? Well lets get started! First things first. You must find a image that you would like to use. I will be using this image.



Now open your GIMP. Copy the image you want to use and click on file-create and then click on create from clipboard. Your image should pop up in a box like this.



Now you add 2 new layers by clicking on layer-new layer twice. If your layer window isnt all ready open go to windows-dockable dialogs-layers. Now look at your layer -blocked- Move one layer under the layer your image is in and fill that with the color white with your paint tool. Make sure your main color is white! Your layer window should all look like this.



Now you must change your settings. Change your setting for your paint tool like mine is. I highlighted the important parts.



Now select the rectangle select tool and drag it over the part you would like your text to be. Now go to your layer window and click the transparent layer on the top. Then click your paint tool and click inside the box you have made. The image should look like this.



Now just add some texts and effects and your done! Congrats you made a blog!

Hello, so your looking to know a little bit about me, eh? Well thats interesting.. Im not going to say thats creepy becuase I see people saying that all the time on there about me pages. Its kind of weird if you ask me. I dont really see anything creepy about people wanting to know more about you. I happen to be that person who clicks the about the owner link before I even look at the graphics,ha.
Anyways, lets get to the interesting stuff! My names Claire and I own this wonderful site that is called Essence. At this moment I am 14 and I currently swim on a all year around swim team. Ive been swiming on it for about 8 to 9 years now. I know, almost a decade. So, if you are wondering how I could swim that long on the same swim team. I cant,lol. It gets pretty boring and man does it make me tired, but I have made many friends and I just cant bear to leave them! Besides what else am I suppose to do at night instead of going to swim practice? I also sang in Carnegie Hall in 2007 which is located in New York City with my choir I used to be in. It was a very amazing moment in my life. I am not a member of that choir anymore due to the fact that it stopped. :(
Ive lived in many places including CA and NH. Ive also traveled to England, in 2009. I might even travel to Australia next year! If you havnt noticed I love to travel. I like traveling on a airplane but the one thing I hate it is taking off and landing. I also really hate jet lag and turbulence! Later in life I would really love to travel all around the world. I also really love road trips. Just sitting in the car looking out the window listening to music.
Did I mention that I love listening to music? I think I probabaly listen to my Ipod over 6 times a day. Its the same with my cellphone. I can text pretty fast. I recently got a new phone so im still trying to figure out how to text fast on that thing becuase it is a touch screen.. Its not as easy as it looks!
I am really interested in graphics design if that isnt obvious! Ive owned this site for a very long time and ive been really trying to make it famous. Its not very easy but im going to keep trying. Im a person who will never give up! I closed down my directory becuase I really wanted to work on my graphics page and I knew I couldnt do that with two sites. I make pretty much everything becuase I like to have variety.
Another thing I hate is when you neomail someone and you dont get a reply! Why do people do that? I reply to every neomail I get becuase I know how it feels. I also really hate when people dont put the site that they owns button on their lookup! So, then you have to go threw all of their pet petpages to find it. Dont you want people to see what sites you own? That really does drive me crazy,lol. Wow ive sure typed alot here and I hope you have learned a little bit about me and think im pretty interesting,haha. Want to know more? Neomail me!
