On September 30th, 2004, Neopians noticed a new link on their sidebar that took them to a page where they could download a Neopets/Yahoo Toolbar. The best part about downloading this toolbar was that it would grant you the ability to create a pet of a new species, the Bori. After waiting a bit over a week, there was a note in the news letting users know that they could finally create their new Bori, if they had downloaded the toolbar. Those lucky users could choose which color they wanted their Bori to be from the following options: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and of course, Ice! They also had the choice of whether they wanted to create a brand new pet, or turn one of their existing pets into the Bori.
You cannot make an Ice Bori via painting, labbing, Fountain Faerie Quest, or any other
method. Downloading the
toolbar
was the only way to get one. Also, if you try to abandon an Ice Bori in the pound, they will
automatically convert into
a
Blue Bori, this makes Ice Bori very rare today.
Note: Ice Bori can be moved between accounts via transfer without converting to blue, so they can be traded.
If you downloaded the toolbar all those years back, but never created your Bori, you can still create your own by clicking here. Users who can still create an Ice Bori will see the following page:

According to my sources, the "Create a Bori" page will give you a 404 error, so you must
Morph an existing pet
into the
Bori.
After selecting "Morph a Current Pet!", you'll will be brought to a page asking which pet you'd like to morph:
Choose "Ice" from the dropdown menu and you will be brought to a page congratulating you on your new Ice Bori! It's that simple!

Week 160I downloaded the toolbar and I got it. I was wondering how do I get the chance to adopt the Bori? It's so cute! And how does getting the frozen paintbrush work? Everyone who has downloaded the toolbar will get the chance to create their
own Bori in a
week's time. The frozen Bori will be one of the colour choices you can create. For example you
can choose to have red,
green, blue, yellow or ice. There will be no paint brush. Note - you wont have anything in your
account as yet.
I am afraid you will need to have just three Neopets if you want to create an Ice Bori, or in fact create any other Neopet. We couldn't let you have five Neopets, that just wouldn't be fair to anyone else. On the bright side if you really cant bear to part with any of your existing Neopets there will be Bori Morphing Potions released later on. You just won't be able to get an Ice Bori. Note: See Editorial Week 161 below. Week 161Will you be releasing an ice bori morphing potion?
Not for general release now, but if you do have four pets and you are eligible
for the Ice Bori you will be
given the option of changing one of your existing pets. I know we said this would not be the
case last week, but due to
popular demand we
changed our minds :) Week 162Will lab ray users be able to get a ice bori by using the ray, or will it be a color you can only get if you downloaded the toolbar? No, you can only get an Ice Bori if you downloaded the toolbar. We will be
adding many more colours
for Bori though so don't
be too sad if you didnt get a chance to get the Ice one. Week 167I think there should be a morphing potion or a chance from the lab ray to get and Ice-colored Bori. My friend who does Neopets said he got an Ice Bori the day they were released to the public! You didnt say that was gonna happen! Oh, and I wont stop nagging till you give in ;) Well, we really don't want to devalue the prize of getting an Ice Bori for the
people who took part in the
offer, but maybe we
could make it a super super super rare lab ray thing. I said maybe though, I will need to check
with Adam about

Week 169I have an ice bori, and it is REALLY boring. It can't fight well, it is picky, and it is always getting sick, but there is no way to get rid of it, is there? If there is, I would like to know, and if not, then I really think that there should be! Well if you are sure you want to get rid of your EXTREMELY rare and
expensive Neopet that very few
people own, you can
always drop him off in the pound. I am sure he will find a good owner in seconds.

Nope, they are guaranteed not to melt. Same as the Ice Bruces. Week 285Hi TNT, if you recall, back when the toolbar (I think) came out the first people to sign up were able to get an ice Bori. I could have sworn there was an ice paint brush for this, but ice paint brushes seem to have disappeared off the face of Neopia now. Did you guys delete or replace the item? If so, is there any possibility of the brush coming back? Thanks. Sorry, but Ice Paint Brushes do not exist, nor have they ever. Aside from the unique ice Bori offer for the toolbar way back when (which was a completely different toolbar than the one currently available, by the way), the only way to turn a Neopet ice is through the Secret Lab Ray. The toolbar ice Bori was available through a special area of the site. You could create a new one or morph one of your current Neopets into one. No paint brush was needed. Week 288Hi TNT. I was wondering if you could tell me why nobody can paint their Neopet ice? I have an ice Neopet named Syleaf and I was wondering... if you pound an ice Neopet, will it turn blue? I was told that on a board and I wasn't sure if that was true or not because I got my Neopet, Syleaf, from the pound and he was still ice when I got him. Thanks. With the exception of the ice Bori, ice Neopets are created via the Lab Ray. Ice Bori were awarded to those who participated in a special offer and will not remain ice coloured if they are pounded. This does not happen to any other species of ice-coloured Neopet. Week 342Okay, I know I already submitted a question once today, but I really need both of these answered. I know that, once you abandon an ice Bori, it turns blue. If I were to transfer mine, would it still turn blue or stay ice? Transferring your ice Bori will not turn it blue. |
