Chapter 1
There once was a pack of lupes called Carnivora. They were the most fearsome lupe pack in all of Meridell. They spent most of their time plundering and picking on innocent pets. But not all of those lupes participated in this. Nope, there was one in particular. His name was Thylacine.

Thylacine was the oddball of the pack- He only ate fruit and vegetables instead of meat and he never joined the others when they went hunting. While the other lupes went on a hunt, Thylacine would go to his secret cave.

This cave was on the outskirts of Meridell. He'd go there to do whatever he liked without anyone saying he can't. In this cave he would draw, make origami pets, knit scarfs which he would give to others, and play with the karrens that lived in there. He would return home before the pack came back from hunting.

Hello!" Thylacine said, holding a bag of scarfs he made. "You missed another hunt, Thylacine." a lupe named Lupus said. Lupus was Thylacine's dad and the pack leader. Whenever they were hunting a pet or someone in the pack didn't follow the rules, Lupus would show no mercy. "Hello, Thylacine!" two lupe pups named Canid and Paulie said. "Whatcha got in the bag?" "Scarfs." Thylacine said, handing him a scarf. "Want one?" "Well, you gave me one last week but thank you!" Canid said, taking the scarf. "Got one for me?" Paulie asked. Thlacine then handed him a scarf "Oh it's orange!" He said with a grin. That's my favorite color!" A black lupe named Midnight threw a piece of meat at him and said "Here's your share of the food, Thy." Midnight was Lupus's brother and second in command. He would alert Lupus if someone weren't following the rules, so he could "punush" them.

Unfortunately, Thylacine didn't have a mother to speak of. The pack told him a hunter shot her when he was just a week old. Thylacine was still very young, so he doesn't remember anything about her. He would sometimes ask his father what she was like and he'd say "She was a blue lupess that got shot. End of story. Now go away."

Lupus wasn't very fond of Thylacine. Because Thylacine was a vegetarian, Lupus considered him a burden to the pack. He also considered him a dissapointment, as he was expecting a pup that would grow up to be a fierce hunter. The male lupes in the pack rarely took part in raising pups, so Thylacine had to fend for himself after his mother was killed. That was when he developed a taste for fruit and vegetables.

The next day when the pack went off on a hunt, Canid and Paulie decided to follow Thylacine. As soon as he got to the cave, Canid said "Hey Thy! Whatcha doing here?" Thylacine said "I always come here when the others are out hunting. This is where I made the scarfs." Thylacine also explained many other things. As soon as he was done, Canid said "No offence Thy, but, you've got to start acting like a normal lupe." "Yeah. Everybody thinks you're odd and i'm not even sure your dad likes you." Paulie added "Why don't you act like a lupe?"

Because I think killing other animals for food is wrong, not to mention ridiculous. And kinda mean. Besides, having a diet of fruit and veggies is so much healthier. Do you want a carrot?"

No! What we do want is for you to start acting normal."

Before they could say more, they heard a voice shout "HELP!" Thylacine ran in that direction and saw a large hole. He looked down the hole and saw a chia in the bottom. "I'll getcha out of there!" Thylacine shouted. He then ran away and came back with a rope in his jaws. "Grab the end!" Thylacine shouted, lowering the rope down the hole. The chia grabbed on and Thylacine pulled her out. "I'm Katie. Thank you for helping me!" The purple chia said. Then she left. Canid then said "Did you just helped that chia?"
But-but-but She needed help! I had to do something!" Thylacine barked.Paulie then said "You just broke the number one rule: Never help anyone we consider food! When your dad finds out your gonna be in serious trouble!"

My dad's not gonna find out."

What?"

Do you guys promise not to tell anyone?"

The two lupes sighed and said "We promise."

Chapter 2
Canid and Paulie promised Thylacine that they wouldn't tell anyone his secret. Unfortunately, this was easier said than done. One day Lupus asked Midnight to follow Thylacine to see what he did while they were out hunting.

Midnight quietly followed Thylacine to his secret cave. "What's this kid doing?" Midnight though to himself as he quietly watched him. Thylacine had made friends with the chia he helped. When Midnight saw Thylacine playing with Katie, he was shocked. "He has broke the number one lupe rule!" Midnight said to himself "I must alert Lupus immediately!" And with that, Midnight took off.

Later that day, Thylacine headed home and the pack was already there. "Oh...hi guys." Thylacine said nervously. "Did you...have a nice hunt?" Lupus stepped forward and said "Thylacine, you have broken the number one lupe rule: coopereating with our prey!" Thinking that Canid told him, Thylacine shouted "Canid, Paulie, how could you?"
Canid shouted "No! We didn't tell him! We promised, remember?" Lupus growled "Midnight told me your secret. And even though you're my son, you shall be punished! Seize him!" All the lupes then surrounded Thylacine, and then they rushed in and attacked him. They were all teeth and claws. Canid and Paulie rushed to help him, but Midnight blocked them before they could even reach him. The pack chased Thylacine away. "Don't ever come back, you worthless trator!" Lupus shouted as he ran away.

Thylacine had been banished from Carnivora. He would probably never see his friend Canid, and his cousin Paulie, again. Feeling unwanted, he headed towards his secret cave, where his chia friend Katie was waiting. "I saw the whole thing." She said sadly "Is there anything I could do?"

Thylacine lowered his head and said "No...I don't think there's anything you could do. I've been banished. I can never go back. I just wanna be left alone."

The chia then turned around and walked away.

Chapter 3
Thylacine fell into a state of depression. He just sat in his cave and he didn't move or eat. A couple days later something appeared at the front of his cave. It was a Gobbler. Thylacine got up and said "Hello little gobbler. Are you lost?" The gobbler flew towards Thylacine. Thylacine wagged his tail and said "Do you wanna stay with me for a while?"

Thylacine became friends with the little petpet, which he named Autumn. Autumn went everywhere with Thylacine. She was almost as good of a friend to him as Canid was.

But then one day, tragety struck. As they were leaving Brightvale, a darigan kougra jumped out of the bushes. Thylacine tried to fight it off, but the kougra was too fierce. It reminded him of when he was banished. Thylacine didn't move. He was deep in thought. Then Autumn flew towards the kougra, and the kougra lunged towards Autumn. Their friendship ended like this- The kougra attacked and killed the poor petpet, and he flew of with the bird in it's jaws. "Autumn! No!!" Thylacine shouted. "This is all my fault!" With tears in his eyes he turned around and headed back to his cave. His beloved petpet sacrificed herself to save her owner.

This never would have happened if I weren't a vegetarian." He thought to himself. "Maybe I should be...a meat-eater."

Over the next few days, Thylacine slowly transformed from his friendly, vegetarian self to a new, not-so-friendly meat eater self. He tried meat for the first time, and he wanted more. One day, his friend Katie showed up at his cave. "Hi Thylacine." She said "How are you?" Thylacine slowly approached her and said in a sinister voice "It's you. You're the one who caused this."

What do you mean?"

If you hadn't fell in that hole, I wouldn't have helped you. And if I wouldn't have helped you, I wouldn't have been banished! I'm sorry but, we cannot be friends anymore." Thylacine then lunged at her. He tackled her and had her pinned to the ground. Then, right when he was about to slash her, something inside him stopped him. He then backed away and said "What have I become? I was just about to hurt the only friend I have left."

Thy, are you all right?" Katie asked.

I'm not sure..."

Chapter 4
Katie helped Thylacine return to his old self. The two of them devolped a much stronger friendship than ever before. Then one day, Thylacine decided to do something.

Thylacine and Katie headed to Merridel, where his pack was. "Wait here, Katie." He said. The purple chia watched from behind a bush as Thylacine walked up to the pack. "What are you doing here?" Lupus barked. "I banished you, remember?" Then Thylacine, with a face full of courage, said "I know. I've come back to challenge you. Whoever wins gets to become leader." Lupus pondered for a second and then he said "We will see who will be beating who! Now we fight!"

Katie watched as the two lupes fought for leadership. Thylacine had the advantage: he was younger and faster. After much scratching and biting, Thylacine won. He was the new leader! Defeated, Lupus turned around and ran away, never to return.

Hooray!" Katie shouted, coming out from her hiding place "You won, Thy!" The other lupes looked at her and growled. "Don't hurt her." Thylacine demanded "She's my friend!" The lupes obeyed him and looked at her and wagged their tails.

FIRE!" someone shouted "There's a forest fire!" "Everybody run!" Thylacine shouted. "Follow me!" The lupes tried to follow Thylacine as he led them to his cave. Katie and the others tried to keep up, but there was so much smoke and the fire was fierce.

Thylacine and Paulie managed to make it to the cave. Thylacine howled, hoping that someone would answer. Nothing. He howled again, then Paulie. Still no answer. "They're gone." Thylacine wept. "They're all gone." He couldn't believe it. He had just become leader, and now his pack and his friend were gone. It was very tragic.

Epilogue
A few days later, Thylacine and his cousin helped a rescue team find pets that survived the forest fire. Some managed to escape the blaze. Katie, Canid and Midnight, however, weren't so lucky. Thylacine never found Them.

As for Paulie, he went to the Adoption Center to find a new home. He asked Thylacine to join him, but Thylacine refused. He still hadn't gotten over losing his pack. He decided to stay in Brightvale.

One day, when Thylacine was visiting Fruits of Brightvale, he met a girl named Sarah. He told her what happened and Sarah asked if he would like to live with her. And, with a big grin, Thylacine said "Yes!"

The End

Thylacine emerged from his cave in Brightvale. He smiled and wagged his tail as he looked at the clear blue sky. "Ah, what a nice day." He said to himself. He then watered his carrot garden, gently patted Mariposa on the head, and went for a walk.

Roleplay with Rebecca

As he was walking, Thylacine saw a german shepherd colored lupess from the corner of his eye. She was holding her pet catamara, Kat, in a fish bowl. The lupess saw Thylacine. "Hello," she said, "Nice day for a walk, isn't it?"

."Yes, it is." Thylacine replied. "I always go out for a walk on a clear day like today.

."Me, too," Rebecca replied, admiring the beautiful day. "And I think it's so cool how your petpet just flies right by you! For Kat here, well..." She gazed at her Catamara. "Well, I just have to keep her in a fish bowl 24/7!" She rolled her eyes.

."Oh, you mean Mariposa?" Thylacine looked at his Quintilc, who was now perched on his shoulder.

."Yeah," Rebecca replied. "And doesn't Mariposa mean something?"

."Yup. It's spanish for 'Butterfly'. I liked the name so much, I decided to give it to my Quintilc."

."Cool," Rebecca replied, "I named my petpet because she looks a little like a cat." "And I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Rebecca. What's your name?"

."I'm Thylacine."

."Nice to meet you, Thylacine."

Mariposa flutters towards the fishbowl to get a closer look at Kat. "Be carefull, Mariposa." Thylacine tells his quintilc. "You're made of paper, in case you've forgotten."

Kat lifted a fin out of the water and waved to Mariposa. "Make sure you don't splash her!" Rebecca tells her.

Mariposa waves back at Kat, then flutters back to her perch on Thylacine's shoulder.

."I think they like each other," Rebecca said.

."That's exactly what I was thinking."

."Really? Wow!"

."I think it's kind of funny. Quintilcs are made of paper, and Catamaras live in water, so you'd think they wouldn't get along. But ours do."

."Me, too. Wouldn't you think Mariposa would be scared of her?"

."Yeah, because a quintilc is made of paper, which falls apart if it gets wet. Why do you think our petpets like each other?" After Thylacine said this, Mariposa fluttered closer to Kat.

."No clue."

."Well, Mariposa and I had better get going. Maybe we'll meet again some time. Bye, Rebbeca!" Mariposa then waved at Rebbeca and Kat.

."Bye, Thylacine," Rebecca said as she waved back. "I hope to see you again soon!"

Thylacine heard someone one cry, it was Gamma. When Gamma saw Thylacine come, she started to lay down and she was scared. She said "Please, do not hurt me!" she said in the eyes of Thylacine, then he wasn't going to hurt her...

What's the matter?" Thylacine asked the scared lupess. "Why are you cryin'?"

The lupess then said "The bruce's they attacked me and they took my petpet...I am lost too...I will like to know, what is your name? Mine, it's Gammae." she get up on her paws.

Bruces attacked you and took your petpet? That's awfull. My name's Thylacine. But you can call me Thy, if you'd like. Want me to help you?"

Oh, really! Thanks! You're really gentle, Thy! You can call me Gam." She smiles. "The bruces went in the forest." She points to the right.

All right. Let's go get your petpet, Gam!" Thylacine then lead Gam to the woods.

Thanks, you're so nice to me... nobody was gentle with me...Nobody loves me... But you, you're nice and gentle with me, that makes me feel happy, thanks. Oh, my petpet is a Seti and her name is Stepou."

Thylacine blushes and says "Gee, thanks for saying that, Gam. I also have a petpet. She's a Quintilc, and her name's Mariposa. By the way, about the bruces that took Stepou, what did they look like?"

She smiles and says "She is so cute." She looks at Thy and says "They where 4 and they look like mutants and darigans, the chief was a big ghost bruce... they are really scary."

Thylacine grins and says "I'll bet we can take 'em. I once defeated a darigan lupe all by myself."

You are really strong, wow! But me, I can make it, I am too...I am not strong."

Thylacine smiles and says "Don't you worry, I've got your back." He winks.

Thanks. Lets go!"

Thylacine then started to sniff the ground. "I think I smell something." He says. "It smells like...bruces...and...a Seti! It must be Stepou! Come on!" Thylacine then leads Gamma further into the woods.

Look!! There! It's a piece of cloth!! Just like the bruces." Gam is realy scared.

Thylacine sniffs the cloth and says "They're very close. Come on."

You're sure then I will stay?" She walks veary slowly. "I'm scared..."

Thylacine wags his tail and says "There's no reason to be scared, Gam. Like I said, I've got your back."

Ok, lets go." Gam says.

Thylacine continues to sniff at the ground. He then looks up and sees a group of animals. "There they are!" He whispers.

Yes there they are... Stepou!" Stepou turn his head and barks. The bruces growl at Stepou and continue to talk. "That was close...sorry." Gam whispers.

Let's go get Stepou." Thylacine says. "I'll distract them, while you go get your petpet." Thylacin then heads towards the bruces. "Hey, you guys!"

Ok." Gam was scared for her new friend, but she went to get Stepou. Stepou was realy exited and followed Gam, but just when Gam was almost out of the woods, she felt something grab her right back paw. It was a bruce! "Let me go!! Let me go I said! Get off!!" Gam screamed.

Then, almost out of nowhere, Thylacine pounced on top of the bruce. He sank his teeth into the bruce's back. The bruce roars and attempts to lash back at Thylacine. "Gam! Stepou! Get outta here!" Thylacine shouted. "I'll hold 'em off as long as I can!"

Ok, thanks! Do you need help, I can call someone? Or I can attack? Where do I go?" Screamed Gam.

Head back to my cave!" Thylacine shouted back at her. "I'll meet ya there as soon as I can!"

Ok, be carful please!...I want to see you again." And Gam started to run.

Thylacine lashed at the bruces. They lashed back. They were tough, but eventually Thylacine was able to chase them off. With the bruce gang defeated, Thylacine limped back to his cave, occasionally stopping to lick his wounds.

Are you ok?" Gam asked Thylacine. "I was so scared for you...I have a little secret for you...It is hard but...I love you." Gam then licked Stepou.

Thylacine lies down next to Gam and says "I'm okay. Just a couple cuts and bruises, but nothing too serious, I think. Wait, did you just say you liked me?"

Yes...I love you, you're nice to me. You're like the only person for me."

Thylacine wags his tail and says "I love ya too, Gam."

For real!?" For the first time in her life she smiles, for real, not just like that and not a little one. She looks at Thy and says "Thanks for today."
