Trapped in the Bottle
Her mother was a ruby, a crimson jewel of the
sea whom shone like the sun. Her dad, a skunk
flotsam, pale and grey with a big heart, and so
much emotion to give to her mother. And their
baby, a tiny, slender red flotsam, who had the
beauty of her mother, and the heart of her father,
but was very small for her age.
These creatures were in a pod in the oceans
depths, along with other family members, the
toughest, and the leader being the baby's
grandfather. He lead the pod with grace to warmer
waters when it was cold, and to where the best
fishing spots were to keep his family healthy. He
did worry about his new grandaughter though. She
slowed down her parents whom stayed back so
she didn't get broken off of the pod, and newer
babies who were being brought into the world
were able to outswim this little jewel. That didn't
keep her spirit down, she completely ignored the
others who got tiresome of her slowing down the
pod, she was as happy as could be.
It was a nice warm day in the waters, and the
pod had just finished feeding and were resting
near the shores of an island. The tiny crimson
baby was busy letting waves lap at her at the
surface, bounding in and out of the water, never
wanting to nap like little ones should. After a good
while of doing this, she peeked her head out of the
water once more, spyhopping at this island. It
seemed so far away to her, and she just had to get
a better look.
Before even swimming up close enough to the
island to see it well, a boat which had taken off
from the island had been makign its way past her.
It was kind of hard for this flotsam to see the
beings inside being so far away, but she just had
to get a better look. She paddled her tail against
the water, towards this wooden floating mass with
creatues she had never seen before
aboard.
Inside the boat was a few people, but one stood
out the most. It was a human...cat-like being who
was being licked to death by another strange
being. It stood on all fours and was red like herself,
but it had ears with stringy like ends, and fur
instead of skin. The baby squeaked a little and
turned herself around, having seen enough for her
curiosity, when she noticed she had been broken
from her pod.
She sonared for her family in the waters, but all
she could see was a vast blue horizon of water.
The flotsam had no choice but to go back to the
boat she had seen.
She spyhopped and looked again to the island.
Another boat just like the one before was taking off,
but it had entirely different beings on it. "The other
boat dwellers looked so happy, they must be
happy too." the child thought to herself, and
paddled her way up to the bottom of it, gave the
boat a nudge, and peeked beside it afterwards to
see if she had gotten anyones attention.
She had alright. The attention of a neopet owner
with a pet skeith. Without any hesitation, they
hoisted the jewel up onto the boat, with her being
so small and light, and began paddling
again.
It was dry...really dry. She had never experienced
something so horrible in her short life. The sun
was beating down on her, and she had never felt
the full weight of her body, which was laying on the
bottom of the boat. It was increasingly stressing.
Once in a while the boat dwellers would pour water
over her, making her feel at home for only a few
seconds. They spoke in a language she couldn't
understand, it all came out to obnoxious noise to
her.
The one who had dragged her into the boat
dampened a few towels and layed them over the
baby, which they should have done before, then
lifted her up into his arms and was off to what they
called a 'Neohome'.
At this dry, land place this neopet owner called a
home, she was brought to the backyard which had
odd heavy toys, objects, and what seemed to be an
obsticle course of some kind. A rushing river was
at the back of the property, something she could
recognize; water. She eagerly squealed and
sonared to be in the refreshing coolness again.
The air was hurting her eyes and drying her
exposed skin. This river lead to unknown territory,
but at this point the crimson baby couldn't care
less, she just wanted in. For some reason the
human tied a rope around her, behind her flippers,
then finally she was eased into the water.
For only a second she felt happy, until the rope
slid and anchored itself around her tail tightly, the
rushing current making it hard for her to swim to
get it loose. She sonared in pain, hoping it would
end, the rope digging into her flesh hard. The bulky
skeith picked her up out the water without much
caring and held her up.
What do you think?" The owner said, crossing
his arms and giving a displeased look.
Too scrawny. She needs more practice.
Although I don't know how that'll help much." The
skeith said, glaring at the already worn out crimson
flotsam he held, then plopped me in his owners
arms and went off to go train himself.
She lived with them for a long time, about a year.
Never progressing in her training, and only
growing very little. She didn't have much room to
grow anyway, she had to stay in a little pool in the
backyard. Not only was she still small, she was
terrified of skeiths and humans, and anything that
resembled them. With hardly any progression, and
not battle worthy, the owner finally gave up and put
her in the pound.
The only thing outside of her family she knew
had treated her horribly. He swept her out of her
home, abused her, then gave up and put her in the
pound. In that place, she was picked on madly,
being her age and being so little. She just sat in a
special pool in the pound with a deep depression,
thinking this is all where it would end.
It did all end there, but not her happiness
ended, her misery did. It was a very annoying day
for her, neopets were tapping the glass tank she
was in, laughing at her and making faces. She
stressed and swam to the back of the tank, just
hoping it would all go away. By a miracle, they were
hushed and got away from the tank, it could only
mean that someone was there to adopt. The
flotsam didn't even go to see, she never did, no
one ever even made a second glance to the
tank.
She looked up after a while, thinking the adopter
was gone, only to find a strange face looking in the
tank. The face was happy and smiling, along with a
familiar red gelert, licking the side of the tank oddly.
The red flotsam paddled her way to the glass and
peeked at the two, and for a first time in what
seemed like forever, she smiled. It was the cat-like
girl she had seen so long ago, and she was here
for the flotsam.
Aww! She's so small and cute! Dash, you
wouldn't mind me adding another addition to the
family would you, huh huh?!" the girl asked her pet,
as if he was supposed to give her permission. The
gelert of course nodded and bounded off to get the
adoption papers. The other unadopted pets were
mumbling under their breath, giving the adopter
glares of jealousy.
The flotsam was then placed gently into a small,
snug transport tank on a steel wagon. Nothing
ideal for transport, but it was better than being
carried without water. For once her smallness paid
off.
Once the flotsam and her new owner were
outside, she was greeted by a many of faces.
"Are...these all my new family...?" she said,
shaking a little, hoping she was right. After all the
time spent with her old owner, she had gotten
speech down, for she had quite the time to practice
it anyway.
Yes they are, meet Dash whom came in with
me, Deeohig, Dash's sister, my lupe, Fireice, he's
real silly, and our little house princess, Kitty the
aisha, and I'm Aludra. Oh! I never asked your
name, I filled out the application papers too fast,
heh." The cat-girl rubbed the back of her head
embarassingly.
Y-yes...I'm...um..." she thought for a moment.
She never said her name other than in her own
language, but she managed to sound it out in
theirs. "I-I'm....Misty..." She said with a bit of a
mumble. The name in their language sounded so
beautiful..."Misty...Misty! I'm Misty the red Flotsam!"
She was proud in her words, the name sounded
so beautiful to her that she wanted to keep saying
it over and over.
Okay then Misty." Aludra giggled, "We'll get you
home now." She said, wheeling the flotsam down
the road with her pets in follow. These pets even
had pets of their own, petpets. They seemed so
happy, without a care in the world, just living out
their days with their owner. Her pets also accepted
the tiny flotsam quickly as part of their family, they
never did pick on her, unless it was jokingly. She
wasn't just going to a new home, she was going to
a family that accepted her as who she
was.
The house was two stories big, nice and big for
the flotsam to have her own room, just like
everyone else had. Aludra was smiling and
cheering next to her mail box. In her hands was a
letter from a friend asking her if she wanted a
striped flotsam morphing potion, and it was cheap
too. She smiled to the flotsam and read her the
letter, and told the tiny red flotsam she was going
to be her first painted neopet. The flotsam smiled
back happily, all this excitement over her made her
so happy.
The room wasn't ready yet, it had to have a tank
installed in the middle, leaving only doorways
open, which was getting arranged quickly for the
flotsam to be able to stay in the next day. In the
meantime she had to stay in a bathtub, which was
just the right size for her temporarily
anyway.
The next day, without having to be pushed and
trained day in and day out, she got a good nights
sleep, even in the bathtub. Already her new owner
had presents for her. First of all, she was put into
her new tank in her room, very roomy and
comforting to be in, with waterproof furniture even
installed. Next she was handed a small cage with
a bow on top, and was thrilled to open it to a very
small brown snake-like creature, what they called
a Wadjet. She loved it to death, it even had a
paddle on its tail to be able to swim with her,
perfect! The wadjet didn't have stripes, but had little
white blotches on his back. The last present she
was made to open had a bottle inside, with the odd
shape of a flotsam. It was the potion Aludra had
gotten a letter about the other day. She was
overjoyed to be a different color, especially since it
make the others so happy. But what would the
morphing part do?
She hesitantly drank the potion, having her
upper part of her body out of the water to do so,
and in a cloud of smoke, her color changed from
her mothers red jewel-like color, to a very light sky
blue, with pinkish-purple stripes going from her
dorsal fin to her tail and flippers, with a white
underside. The newely morphed flotsam paddled
her way to the side of the tank to use it as a mirror,
the swimming part being much much easier to do
now for some reason. As she glanced in the
reflection, a tear came to her eye unseen under the
water. She wasn't small anymore, rather now a
medium sized flotsam, but with a beautiful sleek
self. Her fins had grown also, they were long and
flowing almost, along with her tail. Around the horn
on her forehead were 7 dark purple roundish
jewels. On the side of her head to the back, under
her dorsal fin, she had a red orb surrounded by
smaller golden beads, and to each side of the orb
a green diamond. The red orb was her exact color
she was before, and shown even brighter. It
reminded the flotsam of her mother, and her past
self that she could only giggle upon now.
_~Adoption~_
Adoption. Its something in Neopia newbies are first introduced to. They usually say the pets in The Pound aren't good, and they would rather create their own. Misty was almost a created pet. I waited, in search in The Pound for a few days for a jetsam. They were limited, and since I myself were a newbie (yes, everyone, no matter who, started off as a newbie), I thought someone would put one in the pound. After a few times of refreshing on a slow computer, I seen a flotsam. I had seen a few before, and even in the 'Create a Pet' section. She was level 2. I jumped for joy at that, thinking it was a big deal. So, I adopted her, seeing as no one else did. After a while, my friend told me he had a striped flotsam morphing potion. I of course, bought it. No, I didn't know what the striped flotsams looked like, but I gave it to her anyway. I loved the outcome. A light blue with some white. I didn't like the 'pink' much, but it stayed.
If any of you out there are a fan of Misty, my beautiful custom flotsam, especially ones who are new, just give yourself a reminder. She was an adopted pet. My point is, is that even those who aren't created to your needs, speciality, or maybe their name has something you don't want in it, don't create a new pet. Adopt one. See how far it goes with you. Misty has been with me since I've started. My love for dolphins, and her uniqueness inspired me to draw dolphins like I never have before. Before, when I first started, I admired almost anyone who could even draw a flotsam. Now, after 3 years of practice, lots of patience, and an adopted pet, this is where I am now. Please, if you ever have the time, or if you are ever going to create a pet, look in The Pound. Your perfect pet, companion, and friend for life is waiting with sad eyes.

_~Dimitri~_

My pet, Dimitri the Wadjet is a very special pet to me. I got him the day after I got out of the pound. He likes...eating...grackle bugs...*gag*

_~A Family Of Oddity~_
Aludra Kijuro'Rin, My Owner
Somewhat annoying at times, but she's a good owner and all, and adopted me from the pound rather than 'creating' me.
Dash the Fire Gelert
Dash is just one of my many adopted brothers and sisters. Aludra FINALLY got him painted on March 8, 2004. it took her about 15 months just to get a fire paint brush.
Crimson the Mutant Scorchio
She was colored purple on March 8, 2004, and then a while later in 2006, changed into a Mutant Scorchio. She is quite beautiful if you ask me, but she thinks she's ugly just because she has the word 'mutant' in her description.
Kitty the Desert Aisha
Kitty used to be a princess of some weird forgotten place. She's a really explorative Aisha, and loves to play around at her temple. She's rich, but she doesn't care as long as she has something to do.
FireIce the Electric Lupe
Believe it or not, he doesn't like eating chias. Just scaring them makes him happy. He's an anthro, sleepwalks a lot, and loves milk from the jugs and cartons...
Red the Darigan Kougra
Red gets annoyed easily, and spazzes out when someone asks why he doesn't have a lot of stripes... He doesn't seem to be like an emotional kougra, but he is around girls.
Deeohgi the Spotted Gelert
Deeohgi is a panda patterned anthro gelert, plus, she LOVES to draw. Don't pose while she's around, she'll be drawing you.
Talitha the Desert Cybunny
Talitha is an anthro, loves to read, and has a maniac pet red meepit from the petpet lab ray. She often gives advice to people, and sometimes will waltz around her room saying phrases from her favorite books. She longs for a soulmate, but she's also the oldest of us.
Fusion the Purple Aisha
Fusion is one of those 'ladies man' types. I don't see anything a lady would like about him, but he's always trying to show off to some pretty girl.
Vortex the White Wocky
Vortex is still a playful kitten, with only 3 legs. His leg was deformed at birth, and he kept dragging it across the ground, causing an infection bad enough to get it amputated. He's just fine now, and he has a nice blue robot leg.
Little Bit the Brown Lupe
Aludra's real life pet dog. On her page has a bunch of makables. She's very hyper, and destroys anything that she can chew on, fence posts, a ball or two, or some intruder's hand... Aludra is thinking about changing her Neopets version of Little Bit one day.
Nokunamu the Island Skeith
After much debating on what to turn Noku into, he's finally an anthro skeith. He loves warm colors, and he's quite on the chubby side if you ask me.
Sojien the Mutant Ixi
Sojien was going to be a klipspringer, and he still somewhat is, but he's now mutant. Sometimes, I don't even think he eats. Kind of creepy, but it might hint to him being so skinny. He's quite the agile one though. I could beat him anyday...
Epizu the Purple Blumaroo
Won the gold in the beauty contest on his first try! It took me years to do that. Jealous...He's a jester, magician...thing. Don't really care...
Seiyani the White Usul
She's just so cute! Even I think so. Some people might think she has a bad side, but actually, no matter what, she doesn't. She's always cheery and helpful, and once even tried to help out a dark faerie on accident. Even her petpet is nice, and its a snarling mutant puppyblew.
Peekier the Checkered Aisha
A fangirl of boys. Seriously. She squeals over any boy, especially surfers and ones in the training acadamy in Mystery Island. But when she's over someone...never again does she want to see them.
Rajhea the Spotted Kougra
He drank from the petpet puddle as a petpet was being painted cloud, so his nose, paws, and a bit of his tail are all cloud. If you tell him to stick out his tougne, its cloud too...Anyway, he's not all that bright, but he's cute and small.
Yuki the White Zafara
This stubborn guy, or should I say kid...He's constantly blushing at something. Everyones given him nicknames, from Rat Boy to Stubborn Spaghetti Head. Poor thing.

_~Roleplay~_
Please PLEASE read these rules before you roleplay with any of my pets. I have standards too!
I don't do an entire essay long for an intro, but I'd like at least a paragraph. Detail is essential, but I like dialogue more. The more you give me to work with, the more I'll give back.
Try to keep it kind of the same species - flotsams and peophins are water creatures, they don't want to try to hurt themselves exploring a cave with a korbat.
I can hardly keep up with one roleplay, much less one with more than one neopet in it. Petpets are fine, but when you team me up with a few, its kinda hard.
If you want your neopets to be my neopets friends, roleplay first. It makes it more fun that way, hehe.
Remember, if I don't reply back for a while, send me a reminder! Maybe my neomail got deleted magically from TNT or I lost your screenname. Same with whoever roleplays with me, if I don't hear back from you, I'll try and send you a nudge to continue XD.
It usually takes me a day to reply o-o
Don't send me roleplays over other accounts! Knux2201 is the only one I really check my mail on XD
_~Flotsam Award~_
Just a flotsam award! Take it if your pet has ever been a flotsam, or is currently a flotsam n_n.

_~Toy Box~_
Yee! Look! I have little striped flotsam adoptables!
