Fly

Fly was playing with his sister when they heard a long BANG! Fly told his sister to stay still while he looked to see what it was. She stood holding her plushie. When he came back he grabbed her wing and ran towards the back where his parents were cooking. When they got there, they were rushing to put things in bags and turn off the fire and such. Fly's dad threw two bags over to Fly and his sister. They ran out the back door and went in separate directions. Fly was left alone, cold and deserted. He traveled so far he found a low mountain. He decided to take a walk on up because he had nothing better to do. As he went up he found scraps from hikers' packs. He found a corner that was round and good to make a nice cozy bed. He slept there for days with no one finding him until a day in the late summer. A small girl who looked depressed came along the corner. She noticed that there was something moving in what looked like a nest. As she grew closer she figured out that it was a glowing Pteri. "Hello, there young thing! I'm Emma I live in a small cabin down in the woods." Emma said. But Fly was frightened. After what happened at his hut he could trust no one. But his wing was bent and his claw was broken. So he decided to go with her. Emma picked him up and carried him to her house. Fly started to talk "Hi I'm Fly. My village was attacked earlier in the week." A sad face appeared on Emma. She put cloth around Fly's wing and nodded that it was ready. For almost a month she taught him how to fly with some extra weight. When he was ready to get on his feet again he shook his head. "Please can I stay?" He asked her. She nodded in reply.

Paint Brush Purpose

While Fly was running away form the fire filled huts he noticed something glowing. Then he looked down at his wing and saw what another problem was. Everyone who lived in those fire huts was a red Pteri. He needed to change the color tone of his body, if he didn't want the attackers to find him and take him away. Then he saw the glowing stuff again. He went closer and closer and found out it was a glowing paintbrush. He painted his red coat into a nice new glowing green coat. Then he got up and flew down the red bricked road.

One day Emma and Fly went to the beach. Emma was in the water when Fly said he was going for a walk. As he walked he picked up sea shells for his collection. After a while he found a little bay with a deck. He sat on the deck and put his claws into the water. Fly heard a rustle of bushes behind him but when he looked there was just bushes. He got up and looked in the bushes. To his surprise he found a little Meekins. He petted the little guy and told him it was okay. Fly picked the Meekins up and walked back to Emma who was lying in the sand. "Emma! Looked what I found!" Emma got up to check the little thing out. "It's a petpet. You can keep it if you want." Fly petted the Meekins and held it close. "But you got to name it first." He looked at the creature who was smiling brightly." Molly" He said aloud.
