~*Is It Dark Where You Are?*~

Introduction

Some people knew when to leave things alone. Some people would see a couple kids teasing a cat and figure kids were just being kids and leave. Ven is not one of those people. He'd save the poor cat and then give the children a good lecture before departing with the feline safely in his arms.
So naturally his fur was rather ruffled when he saw the all star quarter back holding a significantly smaller kid by his shirt collar against a locker.
Hey, Ven said as he walked up, one hand automatically going to his lacrosse stick where it was tied to his backpack. "What's going on here?
None of your business, Keough. Retorted the football player. If Ven had a better grade in english he might be irked at the cliche. Instead he just felt his temper rise.
Neal?" Ven asked, turning his green gaze on the other boy.
I-I-" The skinny boy with the large nose stammered.
Keough, your coach--"
Can't stop me." Ven replied coldly. He knew that if he got into a fight his position as the attacker on the lacrosse team would be threatened. All of the sports players had been warned of the consequenes of fighting. While Ven was all for authority, he was put the safety of another human above his reputation in the eyes of authority.
Let him go. Ven said in a steely tone. Jackson hesitated. Then, slowly, he lowered Neal, his hazel eyes never leaving Ven's green. Once his feet had touched the ground, Neal didn't hesitate to gather his things and run.
Jackson turned, and Ven was just beginning to relax when a meaty fist slammed into his face. Although momentarily stunned from the blow, Ven recovered quickly and countered the attack. If there had still been anyone at school at this time of the day a crowd might have gathered. Instead the two boys duked it out silently in the flourescent lit halls.
It didn't last long. Even though Ven was shorter and not as toned as the football player, he knew how to take a hit. He was faster and knew more fighting techniques. So after being hit in the solar plexus and winded, Jackson backed off. He glared at the other boy with menace, then turned tail and fled.
Ven grinned, the thrill of victory rushing through him. He hoped it lasted because later he knew part of him was going to regret the fight as he suffered the consequences of sparking unnecessary violence. Still, blood trailig down his lip and a bruise already forming on his temple, he felt good to know he'd at least prevented Neal some suffering.

VINCENT GABRIEL KEOUGH

CALLED
It shouldn't be much of a surprise that a teenager with the name of vincent would be eager to change it. But Vincent has nothing against his name. He never has. In fact his nickname existed long before his teen years. At first he was called Vin. Then the 'i' was changed to an 'e'. He's been introducing himself as Ven for years.

AGE
It's good to be a senior. Ven is 18 years, his birthday being on December 7th.

GENDER
Quite obviously, Ven is a boy.

ORIENTATION
He is straight and currently single.

GRADES
His GPA is a 3.5, which is just high enough to get him onto honor society. His classes include AP Physics, AP Calculus, English, Government, and Sports. One of his periods is free.

EXTRACIRRUCLAR ACTIVITES
One of Ven's favorite things to do is lacrosse. He is fairly well built, and if not for his natural dislike towards football players he could be a star quarterback. Instead he serves as his school's attacker on the lacrosse team. He loves the smell of grass in the spring, the rush of energy, the sense that he's an important part of something. His one disappointment is the lack of rules.

FAMILY
In a rather violent twist of fate Ven's father was killed. He was on an undercover job for the police when the gang he was snitching on found him out. Ven and his mother were placed under witness protection a few days later. Ven was 7 at the time.

FRIENDS
With a pure heart and white armor, Ven is a fairly easy guy to get along with. He's not most popular guy in school simply because he's unintersted in following the usual trends. Ven doesn't go crazy for parties. He's not huge on gossipping. He doesn't attend every game, or even every dance. Still, he's on good terms with most of the other students in the school. He has a cirlce of friends at the top of which is Nakali, his best friend.

~*Do You Feel Like*~

You're a thousand miles from home?

HEIGHT/WEIGHT
Ven is about 5' 11" and of 170 lbs. He's of an average height. The reason for his heavier weight can be attributed solely to muscle. He is, after all, an athlete. His weight/height ratio make him kind of stocky and appear to be more a football player/wrestler than the lacrosse player that he is.

POSTURE
Considering the amount of teenagers who slouch, Ven's straight posture can make him stand out. He grew up in a household where it was considered respectful to always stand/sit up straight. It's only when he's stressed that he begins to sink down into his chair. When he's extremely focused or tired Ven will lean forward and hunch his shoulders. He'll rest his forearms on his knees, or hold his temples.

GAIT
Being a proud individual, Ven is unafraid of holding his head up and walking with a straight back and an air of confidence. He walks swiftly, but is happy to slow down and take his time if a slower friend is with him.

HAIR COLOR/STYLE
Surprisingly enough, Ven's white-blonde hair is completely natural. His own mother was fair-haired, as were his grandparents, but Ven's comes off with an intensity unmatched by his relatives. He keeps it trimmed short; only about an inch or two. He gels it forward to give it a sleek look.

EYE COLOR/SHAPE
To match his strange hair, Ven has unusual eyes. They're not quite as in-your-face as the white shock on his crown, but they do him justice. His green-grey eyes can burn with intensityand shine with laughter. Their detail can go unnoticed from a distance, but when one gets close it's apparent that there's a lot more to Ven's eyes than just another shade of color.

CLOTHES
Again, unlike most sporty jocks Ven prefers to stay away from the basketball shorts and wife beaters. In fact his clothes border on semi-formal. He favors a heavy, dark grey, wool car coat. Underneath he usually dons a button-up shirt and, depending on the weather, a sweater. Usually he wears dark jeans and a belt. Sometimes he'll throw on a scarf. He favors well-built sneakers. Arch support is necessary for healthy feet! There is also a fine analog watch on his left wrist as well as an ID bracelet.

Where you are?

~*Can You Find Your Way*~

When you're so far?

The only problem one might have with him is his sense of right and wrong. Ven is a very righteous individual, mostly due to his father's actions. He believes strongly in the rules and frowns upon anyone who breaks them, no matter what their reasoning. He stands up for the weak. On a good day Ven is optimistic, protective, hard working, ambitious, just, honest, trustworthy and loyal. On a bad day he is demanding, oppressive, self-righteous, imposing and controlling.
