Healthy Food For Your Neopets Life

Hello, guest! I'm _AnGeL_o_LoVe_, an Island Kiko, and I'm here to teach you all about healthy foods. Since I came from Mystery Island, I know all about fruit and healthy things. My owner, tootsie_roll_queen, is a very good eater, and sets a great example for me! One day at NeoSchool, they assigned us to do a creative assignment for something we love...and I made this! So come with me, and I'll teach ya!

Of course, you want your Neopet to have a healthy life style. Eating is not only good for your Neopet, it is fun! I have tons of different favorite foods, and by buying the right foods, your Neopets can be happy for life, just like me! You also can make sure to avoid horrible, and costly, diseases. I barely ever get sick because I know the difference between good food and bad food. Here, I'll explain!

To eat....
You want to be sure to feed your pets good food, as many fruits, vegetables, and dairy as you can find! Of course, some pets might not eat meat (like Asparagus Chias) and some may not eat vegetables (Lupes!) Make sure to find food that your pet likes, AND that is healthy.

And not to eat....
There are LOTS of things you should avoid eating, such as:
•Poisonous Foods:
Poisonous Foods should ALWAYS be avoided. They can give your pets diseases like NeoMonia, or Floppy Tongue. Floppy Tongue was SUPER annoying the one time I got it, because no one could understand what was wrong with me! Tip: Anything given to you by Judora should NOT be eaten.

•Gross Foods:
These aren't always necessarily bad for your pet, but no Neopet will EAT gross foods, so to keep your pet happy, avoid them. I tried a piece of Carawool once, so I learned the hard way....

•Allergies:
Neopets can also be allergic to certain foods, and if you feed them the wrong thing, they can come down with a disease. Luckily there are very few allergic Neopets. Here is the list:
-Tonu: Allergic to Neggs.
-Quiggle: Allergic to cream foods.
-Skeith: Allergic to cheese foods.
-Kyrii: Allergic to apple foods.

•Rotten Foods:
Gr-oss. Rotten foods not only taste bad, they can give your pets Ugga-Ugga, which is super-pricey to cure.



•Desserts:
This isn't bad for your pet unless you eat to much of it. A dessert after dinner followed by a good tooth brushing is fine, but make sure they stay healthy! Of course, my siblings and I have great hygiene, but we still have to watch out!

•Dislikes:
Keep in mind your pet won't like everything, and that's OK. Once you know what foods to avoid, they should stay pretty happy.

Yuck! I'm not eating one of those!" My brother is such a picky eater.

Now that we've covered all the bad stuff, lets move on. What should you be eating a lot of, and what about vitamins and stuff?

If you know the Food Pyramid, thats good. Your pet should have a lot of fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat (if they please) and grains like bread and pasta. Like I said before, desserts in little quantaties are okay.

•Fruit: Fruit is especially great because here in Neopia there are so many different kinds. Most pets love fruit (unless you're a Fruity type of Chia like my bro.), and you can get berries and things for pretty cheap. Make sure to check out Mystery Island-they have some of the best fruit of all. Myster Island is my homeland, and fruit is one of my specialties. The best type are berries!


Flatfruit? Combfruit? Cloudberry? All de-lish!

•Vegetables:Don't get me wrong, vegetables are great too. Carrots carry Vitamin C, and broccoli is just plain delicious :) Many Lupe owners have a problem because their pets won't eat vegetables. Sometimes they will, if they're really hungry, however. Tip: Even though they're a little bit more Neopoints, organics are very good for your pet, because they are grown without chemicals. Personally,however, I think a tomato is a tomato, but maybe that's just me!



•Meat: There is a lot of bad meat out there in Neopia. I've found disgusting things like Minced Beef Pretzels, and delicious things like Beefy Broccoli. Meat is an important food for (some) pets. Lupes love meat, but you'll notice Chias tend to avoid it (My brother Airedele loves it, however!)

Good.......................and Bad!!

•Dairy: Cheeese! Milk! Yogurt! Dairy comes in so many different forms. All pets love dairy, especially Kaus. Who doesn't love Chocolate Milk? And don't forget things like ice cream! I LOVE berries 'n' cream!



•Bread and Pasta: This is very important, and you can buy it so cheaply! Grab some Pyramid Bread on your way out from the Lost Desert, or some Neowaiian Bread in Neopia Central! Pasta is a bit more expensive-and you want to make sure to avoid that 'Pasta and Eyeballs' combo. I love ravioli-yum!!

•Vitamins: Vitamins are way good for your pet! I have to take some every morning before school. They come in great flavors (mm, berry vitamins.) Go to the Health Food shop, and pick some up for very little Neopoints.
-Vitamin A: Keeps your Neopets eysight, bones and skin looking great!
-Vitamin B: Keeps your pet active and healthy. It's also in a yummy orange flavor!
-Vitamin C: Helps out your Neopets immune system. Also strengthens the skin, teeth, and bones.
You can also get Supplements. These replace important vitamins that some pets can't get enough of. Here:
Iron Supplement: Keeps pets strong and healthy!
Calcium Supplement: Tastes good and helps pets who don't get enough calcium!

Some other things you should know:
•Hunger Levels: They range from dying to bloated. You can feed your pet 1 million times, and it will stay on bloated. Here are the levels of food, going down as you get fuller:
•Dying
•Starving
•Famished
•Very Hungry
•Hungry
•Not Hungry
•Fine
•Satiated
•Full Up
•Very Full
•Bloated
•Very Bloated
Sometimes they skip one of these levels, or do one level twice. Also, I think that the best level for your pet to be on is Very Full, because sometimes they don't like being bloated.
