Subato's species lived hundreds of years ago. There are known to live solitaire, except when they found a partner which is quite rare. After they rose a cub together they leave each other again. It's in their nature to not make close bonds with others. After Subato reached the age of 23, he encountered Rai. Rai immediately attack Subato, because he had a red soul. Subato, who had no idea why Rai attacked him, fought back. But Rai's abilities overwhelmed Subato. He died and came back as a soulsnatcher. Rai, who was supposed to tell him everything about soulsnachters, disappeared and left him with his agony. After only a few moons he encountered Rai again. He attack him and this time he won. After the fight Rai told him everything he knew about Soulsnachters, and how he finally could stop the pain he felt through his body. Rai decided to go back to Suku, another Soulsnachter. Since Subato didn't knew what else he could do he followed Rai. They travel a lot together with Suku since that day and eventually they became quite good friends.
Hissori
At young age, Hissori accidentally became a sinner. When her sister died of a disease, she manged to control her sister's soul. Without knowing what she was doing, she kept the soul in the world of the living instead of heaven. Hissori only told her brother what had happened. He was very interested in what Hissori had done, told her that it was something special and that she had to develop it. Hissori followed her brother and practiced her ability on small mammals and birds, her brother often watching what she was doing. Eventually, he also managed to control souls.
When they where old enough they left their tribe to travel alone. Back then, they thought that controlling souls didn't had any consequences, until they met another sinner. He told them that soulsnatchers are hunting them down and that they had to be careful. He decided to travel along with them, to protect them and to teach them more about controlling souls.(...)
