If you read that you will see that i was adopted, a horrible thing to go though . My owner adopted me from the pound when i was very small and has been looking after me scince.

My owner

My owner is crystal10750 but she likes to be called Rachel, she is 13 years old, She likes to make graphics, work on her doll gallery, play the piano and violin and teach me music. She is the one who saved me from the pound and I am very thankful for it :). She chats all the time on the spotlight and gallery board and she wants to thank everyone there as they gave her alot of support while she was making this page.

Laques is a disco aisha. She was already here when my owner adopted me, and I got along with her instantly, though she is not as passionate about music, She still understands me and listens when I start "One of my lectures"

Zinketta

Zinketta is my baby sister. She is annoying and whines alot, and Rachel spoils her constantly.

If you have not figured out already music is one of my passions. I love it and I thought that i would teach you some :)
Okay now first we will begin with the rules as we don't want any accidents happening, and I like my students to be polite.

The Basics

this is a stave.

it is where the notes are written. they can be written in between the space of the staves, on the line or for the really higher and lower notes in equal spaces from the stave.

this is a treble clef.

some instruments are read just as the treble or base clef, but the piano is read with both, the right hand usually playing the treble and the left usually playing the base.

The time signature tells us how to count. The top number tells us what to count in one bar.

this picture below shows the bars on a piano stave, the lines that seperates the bars are called bar lines.

The different types of notes.

This is a whole note or semibreve

It is equal to four beats

This is a half note or minim.

it is equal to two beats.

This is a quarter note, or crotchet.

It is equal to one beat and is the most used.

This is an eighth note or a quaver. The left one is a double and the right one is a single.

they are worth half a beat.

Musical Instruments

I am sure everyone knows someone who plays a musical instrument or maybe you play a musical instument yourself. There are only two of my owners freinds that do not play a musical instrument, so if you are one of thos people who do not play a musical instrument or do not worry yourself of other musical instruments, here is a guide to musical instruments.

Earliest musical instruments were percussion, probably hitting of stones, pounding of hollow tree trunk, not any melody. Melody comes later with instruments like 30 thousand year old bone flutes , with four notes.

There are 4 different types of instrument :
brass-a group of wind instrument normally charachterised by a flared bell at the end of the instrument.
woodwind- any wind instrument accept brass.
percussion- any musical instrument sounded by striking, shaking, or scraping... and strings- any instrument creating sound by the vibrating of strings.
The most famous of the brass is probably the trumpet, closely followed by the saxophone. They are used alot in jazz and big band groups. Other brass instruments are tubas, french horns and trombones.
The most famous of the percussions are the drums and piano. The drums are a big part of modern bands now, though originate from drums from africa. The piano is classed as a percussion instrument as you hit the keys, yet there are 230 string inside one which work it. Other famous percussions include symbals and the xylophone.
The most famous of the strings is the violin. The violin is the most popular of orchestral instruments. It is the smallest of the string instruments and has the highest pitch. Other famous strings include cellos, guitars, violas and double bases.
The most famous of the woodwind is the flute- which is made with metal now. It is very popular in orchestras. Other famous woodwinds include piccolos, clarinets, oboes and bassoons.
Most of these instruments are quite old, most dating back to the medievil time. Some instruments are incredibly new like electric guitars, keyboards and electric violins, and sure enough, in the future, there will be other incredible, new instruments.
