You are now walking through the castle halls of Meridell. Magnificent gold, blue, and red banners cape the halls, suspending from the ceiling and hanging from the walls. The castle has many rooms and grand staircases, and plenty of Guardsmen patrolling the halls. You've decided that you've seen enough of the inside of the castle, now what about the courtyard?
You swing the back castle doors open, and take a deep, fresh breath of the crisp air. You open your eyes and-
Hullo! A loud voice calls out.
You fall over. Someone shoved you down, how dare they!
Oh, i'm so sorry! Forgive me! the voice cries. Next thing you know, a male red zafara is helping you up. I wasn't watching where I was going, my bad, my bad...
You grumble and brush the dust off of your legs.
Hey, I haven't seen your face around the castle...Are you a new recruit?" The zafara says, cocking his head to the side.
Oh, me? I'm guest. I was just looking around the castle.
His face lit up and he bore a grin. "Why don't I show you around then?" You nod your head and acknowledge his decision.
You both walk back into the castle. "Have you already seen the upstairs?" He asks.
Well...no. The guards wouldn't let me. You admit as you hang your head.
Hehe! Don't worry, I work here!" He says, smiling.
Really? You ask, astonished.
Yup! I'm a Meridell Knight!
Well, i'm not really a knight...i'm a squire." He admits shamefully.
What's the difference between a knight and a squire? You ask.
Well," He begins, "A squire is what you are before you become a knight of Meridell. All squires train under an experienced knight until they are dubbed a knight. Im gonna be a knight someday!" He says vailiantly. "Hey, before we proceed any further, why don't I tell you a little about myself?" He inquires.
Sure. You reply. I mean, he's going to be giving me the tour...

Ok, now that you know more about me, let's get this show on the road!" The zafara says as he grabs your arm and runs down the hall.
Hey, say if I want to be a squire? You blurt out.
Zettos stopped right before he went up a flight of stairs.
Well silly, YOU can't be a squire! Only Neopets can!" He chuckled. "But, if your Neopet wanted to be a squire, there's a list of what you may need!
1.First thing that you'll need to become a squire is to have the permission of you owner, of course! It wouldn't be very "knightly" to just go off and be a squire without asking your owner first, ne? You'd be in BIG trouble, trust me!
2.Second thing, you'll need a sword. I'm not talking about that fake fencing stick or your "I'm gonna give you splinters!" sword, you're gonna need a REAL sword. There is a Weapon Shop outside the castle, and I'm sure that the owner would sell you one if you had the neopoints.
3.Next, get a SHEILD. I guess it doesn't really matter if it's a jar lid or not, just make sure that it actually DEFENDS you!
4.Also, you're gonna need battle experience and the will to become a knight! Ok, so you really don't need battle experience, but it sure does help A LOT! And why would you try out if you don't have the courage to become a knight....?
5.And last but definitley NOT least, you're going to need a knight to sponsor you! You'll need a knight to help train you, and you need to be recommended in. The best way to get a knight to sponsor for you is to run and errand for him or do a big favor. =3
After Zet is done, you simply reply, Oh, ok! And smile. He motions for you to follow him up the stairs. As you follow him, you notice a cleaning room across the room.
What's that? you say as you point to the room.
Oh, that? That's the cleaning room. Sometimes I do squire duties to help the servant in there." He says with a smile. What are squire duties? You ask, confused.
Well, when you're a squire here, you don't always train. Sometimes people around the castle need some help or we're short a few hands. Usually after practice your knight will send you on squire duties. They can get pretty boring and nasty though...
New squires usually end up doing the really smelly jobs first." He says.

5. Kitchen Duty Wait, I havta eat the glop that I fix!?! T~T
4. Turtum Care UUHGGG they smell SOOOO bad...polishing their shells is enough to prefer sticking garlic up your nose.
3. Clothes Washing Hope that you don't get the clothes of a skeith or grarrl. Big AND stinky.
2. De-Nesting Crokabeks They screech really loud and peck really hard. Either way, you're gonna get a REALLY bad headache.

1. Clog Duty *girly scream* THIS IS THE MOST ABSOLUTE WORSTEST JOB IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. My idea of fun in NOT going into a smelly sewer that been used by who knows who and clearing up the clogs. ;_; It's very painful if you can't find the clogs fast enough. I almost swore that I saw a rabid slorg down there one day...

Well, it's not all bad. When all the squires are done, we get to go have fun. Well, unless we get told on or get caught. But otherwise, it's a blast!"
Zettos has just finished touring you around the upstairs, and now you both are heading down the stairs.
Oh man, i'm starved! Let's go grab a bite from the kitchen!" He says while holding his stomache. Well, why not? you figure and follow him.
When you get there, a tall kougra is frying up some food on the stove. "Oh, thanks goodness!" Zettos says and licks his chops. "Looks like Skarl hired someone to cook today!" He says happily. "I wonder if we're having a party? Maybe someone from Faerieland is coming today!"
Zettos turns around and looks at you. "Comon, let's go sit down and wait for him to finish cooking. I can tell you all about the dreadful things that they serve around here..."
You and Zettos pull up a chair. As soon as Zettos sits down, he begins. "Usually, we have some grumpy chef that smells like week-old onions_ And for every meal of the day, it's gruel. Really nasty gruel. Or, if we're about to go through some training, the chef will serve up some leeks. I hate leeks! THE NERVE!" The zafara pounds his paw agains the table. "Whoa, sorry there. Didn't mean for that to happen." He says nervously. With great timing to change the subject, the chef comes out and places a plate in front of you and Zettos. Mmm, yum! This looks and smells great! You say as you grab the nearest piece of siverware and start ripping into the dish. You notice that he's not eating it. What's wrong? You ask.
Nothing. Unless you don't like eating other Neopets....it's Blumaroo Steak." He says grimly.
WHAT!??!" You yell as you spit your food across the table.
WHAAAAAAT! You're leaving?!?" Zettos whines.
Well, it was fun and all, but I really should be going. You say.
Zettos frowns. "Well, if your mind is set, I really can't change it. Hey, but before you go, why don't you take something in memory of your trip!" He says brightly.
