Draco's Guide
Welcome guest to the Battledome and Training guide for members of Neopia's Royal Society. Here I will try to help you understand how to be successful in the battledome. This page will cover every aspect of battling. From training, to weapons, and how to battle. If you have a question that this page does not answer please neomail Zak and he will do his best to answer it for you!
Attack
Offensive weapons that you use to do damage to your opponent.
Defense
Weapons that will block damage done to you.
Reflectors
Instead of just blocking damage, it will reflect it and send it back to your opponent.
Freezers
Freezing weapons will temporarily "freeze" your opponent for one full round. During this round your opponent cannot harm you.
Healers
Healing weapons will replenish your pets hitpoints in the battledome. There are many different healers, all varying the price and amount in which they heal.
Stealers
Stealing weapons will steal the first item in your opponent's lineup for the remainder of the battle. This can be very useful depending on what you steal!
Now you know the different types of weapons. Now weapons deal with symbols called icons. There are seven different icons, and some weapons will do different types of icons in damage, some will block some icons and attack others, and some will only block or reflect those icons. For instance, a Scarab Ring does 6 icons of damage, and 6 icons of defense. It does 2 water, 2 dark, and 2 physical icons of damage, and it blocks 3 fire, and 3 physical icons. Below are all the icons.
 Icons
Air
Dark
Earth
Fire
Light
Phsyical
Water

Boosts
Now that you understand icons you must understand that your strength determines how much damage you do as well as how much you defend per icon. These are called strength boosts, as you can see below. For instance, a pet with 39 strength, or 35 strength would both do the same amount of a damage with a weapon that did 5 water icons and 5 earth icons. That weapon would be called a "10 iconer" and a pet with the 35 boost (Strength of 35-54) would do 1.5 damage per icon. Therefore a pet with the 35 boost would do 15 icons of damage. Now that is assuming your opponent does not block any of them!

Abilities
Abilities are granted to your pet by bottled faeries. Each faerie grants different types of abilities. Before you waste money on faeries, keep in mind that some of them require your pet to be a certain level! Most of the faerie abilities provide some benefit, however the most useful are: Burrow (Earth ability, Level 13, Blocks ALL earth, water, air, fire and physical icons.) Sink (Dark Ability, Level 30, Blocks ALL water, light, dark, fire and phsyical.) Drain Life (Dark Ability, Level 28, Drains 11% of opponent's health and gives them to you!) There are many different abilities. Some can freeze your opponent, others block specific icons, and some heal hitpoints.

Stances
Now I know all of you have heard someone say "Beserk Attack" or "Fierce Attack" You select how you battle your opponent in the drop down menu during each round. Now you can either use one of the abilities your pet has from the list above or you can use one of the following:
Beserk attack: x 150% of your damage
Feirce attack: x 140% of your damage
Jump and attack: x 130% of your damage
Normal attack: x 120% of your damage
Cautious attack: 100% of your damage
Pet special ability: 100% of your damage + The Ability
Defend: 80% of your icon damage
Keep in mind, that when you use these attacks such as Beserk Attack, which attacks at 150%, you also receive the damage your opponent does to you at 150%.
Those are the basics of the battledome! If you understand these concepts then you understand how the battledome works! Now this is only background information about how to battle. Below are suggested weapons based on the types of icons they do, the amount of icons, and their price. Below I will try to provide a variety of good weapons. some are cheap, and some are very expensive. Keep in mind you get what you pay for! But you must find a balance. A 50,000,000 neopoint weapon and a Weak pet will not do as much as a 100,000 neopoint weapon and a very strong pet. Well..you see my point. You must find a balance! Training your pet, and buying weapons are equally important!

Weapons
Below are some of my favorite weapons of all price ranges. I have Offensive, Defensive, Healers, Freezers, Bombs and more! I tired to cover all areas of the battledome. Now the further down you go the more expensive they get, but remember you get what you pay for!
Multi-Use
Multi-Use weapons are ones that can be used unlimitedly in battle, and do not have the risk of breaking or disappearing. I would recommend that you have 2 Multi-Use weapons, and perhaps 3 in your lineup.

Defense & Shields
Defensive weapons block damage done to you based on your pet's defense boosts. 1-use Defensive weapons can ONLY be used once and they will disappear forever. They are good for important battles, but not worth it in the long run! Once Per Battle weapons will not disappear, they can be used once every battle! Anything else can be used unlimited times during any battle!

Shields

Healers
Healers are incredibly useful in battle! They restore a certain amount of hit points that your pet has lost and can make or break you in the dome! 1-use healers can only be used ONCE and they are gone forever. So only use them for important battles! Other healers can only be used once per battle.

Freezers
Freezers are a very important part of battling! They give you the chance to completely attack your opponent with everything you've got and not get any damage done to you. Obviously they aren't cheap!
