*Music plays and a title screen with the words Tonight's Neopia appears on screen. The title fades out to a green acara sitting in a lavishly furnished room, and an eruption of applause can be heard from the audience.*
Good evening, everyone and welcome to Tonight's Neopia. I'm your host, Alexa Lark, and today I have here with me, none other than one of Neopia's youngest celebrities, Zensella the zafara!"
*The audience cheers as a baby zafara wearing a black dress and a huge hot pink hair bow enters the room*
Thanks for having me, Alexa," She smiles in the audience's direction.
Always a pleasure, Sella. Now let's get down to business. You're thirteen years old now, aren't you?"
I am. I'll be fourteen on April 6th."
And how old were you when you first began your acting career?"
I was four when I made my first appearance on Neovision," She laughs. "On a commercial for Usukiland.
I remember that commercial. Don't we all?" She says to the crowd, resulting in another eruption of applause. A giant Neovision screen comes down from the ceiling, displaying an old ad for Usukiland. In the ad, a little zafara with a pink bow in her hair is shown running through the store on a regular "Usuki Frenzy", frantically grabbing dolls and clothing and play sets off the shelf, and adding them to her basket. "Aww"'s and laughter fill the room, and Zensella also laughs and blushes.
It's a really cheesey ad," She says.
It's adorable!" Chirps Alexa. "I think everyone would like to know how were you discovered to do that commercial."
The zafara blushes again. "When I was little, I loved usukis. I'm from Terror Mountain, as you probably know, and the only usukis they ever sell there is the odd one they get in at the toy shop. So when me and my parents went to Neopia Central for the weekend, I begged them to take me to Usukiland. We had no idea that there was a talent scout there that day, looking for kids to put in a commercial for the place."
And when he saw your charm and beautiful face, he knew you were the perfect kid for it?"
Actually, he saw me running through the store, doing pretty much the same thing I did on Neovision."
A real picture of four-year-old Zensella with her arms full of usukis is now on screen.
Where did you get that picture?!" The zafara says through fits of giggles.
You're mother gave it to me."
Zensella just shakes her head. The audience quietens down, and Alexa continues the interview.
So Sell, now that everyone knows how you started, why don't you tell us a bit about your latest work?"
Well, we're in the middle of filming the movie adaption of Mystery of the Kougra Paw, which I'm co-staring in with Donald VonHopsonburg."
They're saying it will be the movie of the year, and the whole world is patiently awaiting its release in the summer of Year 15. I know I am!"
To this the audience seems to agree. Zensella grins.
I hope it will be as fun to watch as it is making it." She says.
Tell us what it's like for a thirteen-year-old girl to act alongside a star like Donald VonHopsonburg." The acara insists.
Oh, it's absolutely amazing! You'd think someone that famous would be stuck up or something. But he's not at all!"
How did you feel when you were first meeting him? Were you nervous?"
I was a bit nervous, yes. I didn't know what to expect. I found out right away though that he was really nice! He said he couldn't believe I was only thirteen." She giggles again.
Well you are very mature for your age."
Hehe, thank you!"
No Zensella, thank you for being on our show this evening, you've been a darling. I'd love to have you on Tonight's Neopia again sometime soon!"
The pleasure's all mine. Thanks again Alexa," She gets up from her chair and turns to the audience. "And thanks to all of you! I had a great time."
And the crowd cheers loudly as the baby zafara waves goodbyeand exits the stage.
The room is completely dark. A lone spotlight turns on, revealing a young girl in a black dress, with a huge pink bow in her hair.
Hi, I'm Zensella the Zafara. Some of you may know me from movies or Neovision. Or maybe you've seen my albums in the music store. This spotlight isn't about me though. No, this day belongs to someone else. Someone very special, who rarely gets the credit and appreciation she deserves. I'm talking about my very own petpet, Dee!
Exciting music plays as a second spotlight is turned on. In this one is a small faerie petpet, a feloreena wearing a sparkling tiara.
Dee would love to tell you about herself, but unfortunately, she speaks a language only petpets can understand. Not to worry though! I know Dee's story from top to bottom, and I'd be happy to tell it to you!
Like most feloreenas, Dee was born in Faerieland. When she was six weeks old, she and her brother and sister were taken to a petpet shop. There, they were purchased by a petpet trainer, who brought them to live at his house. He taught them the basic things every petpet should know, like manners. After a little while living with the trainer, they were all sent to a large building with lots of other petpets. It was called the Petpet School for Performing Arts, and everyone there seemed to be playing a game. A game Dee knew well. A game of pretend!
Dee fit right in at the PSPA. There was nothing she loved more than a game of pretend. She and her class were taught to do things like jump over obstacles, make it look like they were falling, without really having to fall. Dee perfected her flying skills, and even learned how to swim. Practicing stunts was a lot of fun. But Dee's favourite part of school was when she got to pose and look pretty. It would be a crime to never let a petpet as beautiful as Dee show off her looks!
Life was good at the PSPA. Everyday was like a game, and every night Dee couldn't wait to play it again. To the feloreena, she and her class was just having fun. She didn't even realize that they were slowly, but surely, learning how to act. It came as a complete surprise when she was cast in her first movie! The movie was called Sky Castle, and it was about a little girl (played by yours truly!) and her feloreena, who set off to find a mysterious castle, high above Faerieland. It was during the filming of that movie that I became friends with Dee.
I was amazed by her. In all my life, I had never seen such a talented and enthusiastic petpet actress. She wasn't camera shy, or neopet shy at all, and we soon became the best of friends. Filming Sky Castle took a year and a half. I'm usually really excited when I finish a movie, but with that one I wasn't. I was upset, because I knew it meant I wouldn't get to see Dee all the time anymore.
I wish I could take you home with me." I told her.
What happened next, I still can't believe. Dee, the aspiring petpet actress who was well on her way to stardom, gave up her illustrious career to stay with me. This will sound like I'm bragging, which I'm really not trying to, but I'm a celebrity. I have been since I was four years old. But to me, I've never received a greater honour than having that feloreena retire early, just to come home with me and be my petpet.
And that, my friends, is why Dee is so special. Not every petpet would give up everything they know and love for one silly neopet. So Dee lives with me now. She comes to watch the filming of all my movies and shows. She's even made guest appearances before. And I should let you know that she does not miss acting one bit. She doesn't have to. She plays pretend all the time at home. We even act out scenes together. Who says you need cameras to make a movie anyway?
Closing music plays, and the two spotlights merge into one over the zafara and feloreena.
I'm afraid this spotlight is coming to an end. But Dee and I thank you for listening to her story. Our time is up for now, but there will be much more to come from Zensella the Zafara, and Dee, the greatest petpet star in the world.
