You stagger in, exhausted from clicking around petpages and trying to mentally catalog your interesting findings. Noticing the massive amount of text that follows you sigh and scroll to see how much of it lies just beyond the divider. After estimating the amount of time it'll take you to read, you immediately brace yourself and settle in your chair, bed, or couch for a lengthy read. But as exhausted as you are, you still find yourself able to push forward, unlike the exhausted applicant on the other side of the screen who's currently being dragged all over town and beaten down by final exams, portfolios, and projects. With that thought in mind you're grateful to at least be able to walk away from this application at your leisure, rather than being chained to it by some unspoken law or mutual understanding that your future lies in the balance if you do. Pity? Intrigue? Curiosity? Whatever it is, it compels you to read on.

Hey there guest, are you stalking my app? Oh, Fae, it's you! Well hello, hello. My name is Travis but everyone knows me as Moon around these parts. I'm 20 and currently attending college in cornland Indiana, working my way up to a job in the fine arts.

I spend most of my time on Neo drawing, customizing, writing, and developing characters for my pets but I tend to go through several waves of hating my work and revamping things over and over again. Currently I've been doing a bit of gaming here to save up to morph and paint a few pets that haven't reached their final stage yet. As an avid PCer, I often find myself lurking the boards and indulging in guilty pleasures such as NC.

Though I log on every single day, I am aware that sometimes getting to engaged with the things that happen on this site can become really...unhealthy. I do take some time to step away from Neo every now and again and take a breather to work on my real life goal such as finding a decent job and sharpening my art skills. But when I'm not stressing out over exams or projects, it's nice to set aside some hours to just fart away away neopets and work on my characters or hang out on the boards with friends.

For your trip you need these things:

Why Lin?

Why Valinsa, you ask? Well I'm not ashamed to say that I am totally in love with unconverted royal girl lupes. They are my all time favorite pet. Converted royal girl lupes just don't have the character and regal personality that the unconverted lupes have. They are deeply inspiring and I've often wondered what things I could do with such a beautifully drawn and inspiring pet.

When I saw that Valinsa was up for adoption, I really had to debate with myself if I could accept the disappointment that came with being turned down for such a beautiful lupe. For a while, I didn't think I could but a while later I realized that by not applying I wouldn't even be giving myself a chance to express my ideas and feelings. But what draws me so much to Valinsa is not only her species and color but also her name. Don't get me wrong, if anyone were to drop a royal girl lupe into my lap, even if her name is iefjowjf888f___kru39 I would be ecstatic and endlessly grovel at their feet in the sheer excitement of being allowed a 'dream pet', if you will. However, my best friend here on this site is also named Val and I took that as a sign that I should at least apply. My reasons probably aren't the best, but they are mine and they are true.

Plans

While I don't have the most amazing art, stories, and probably wouldn't role play Valinsa for my lack of skill in role playing as females, I can promise that she would be forever housed on my main account. I am absolutely taken by her and would never have any intention of trading her off. She is the most fantastic pet on the site and there is no existing offer that would be able to pry her from me.

Customization

As with any of my pets, Valinsa will relieve a customization which includes items that reference her story. I do sooo love customization, even for unconverted pets. Though they are more of a challenge, I get the best of both worlds. Combined with the right customization items, it is thrilling to see how pets gain personality and can even be transformed into something greater than what they are. I chose this combination based on color scheme. But this has a better effect. You can only tell while it's animated but the Balthazar shadow behind the rolling fog creates a strange pulsating effect in the shadow where it actually tricks the eye into believe it's moving; growing. Based on Val's character and story, I thought it fit like a glove. Besides, I designed this layout after that background.

Art

Along with character creation, art is probably the most exciting part of owning any pet. I often see people around the PC asking for art, even if they can't draw themselves, because it helps to move a neopet beyond what you see on the screen. At least, that is the way I feel. It's a big part of my neolife, if you will. Everything from sketches to comics to digital paints.

I realize that it is very difficult to believe anyone who just claims they will keep Valinsa because I am certain everyone is saying that, including those with intentions to trade her but I'm hoping that my existing pets are enough to attest to all the promises I am making for Valinsa. I hope that this application shows my dedication to Lin.

I'm trying to break away from the typical, generic princess role. Still, I wanted to keep her within the limits of her regal appearance because otherwise, I may as well be creating a non-royal character for a non-royal lupe. Valinsa is in fact royalty, her story parodies beauty and the beast. She is definitely not a dainty, fragile princess of any sorts. She isn't afraid to get her dresses muddy, despite the scolding she will receive from her royal advisers. Lin is a daring and exciting young lady who isn't afraid to break from the expectations of the royal family; which at times makes others wonder about her capability as a ruler.

Petpet

Sam is Lin's trusted pet spardel. He is the royal pet and often enjoys his lazy days around the castle; seated on a velvet cushion in the thrown room. Though his owner is always up for an exciting new adventure, he much prefers to stay home and get into the occasional mischief with the castle staff.

The Record

I guess I'll come right out and say that I've had my first accounts (with exception of badcupid) frozen for cheating. When I first began playing I was such a careless little dude and I passed nps and items between accounts and played games on side accounts without a second thought. Needless to say now I've learned my lesson and am a much more mindful player now. I guess that's because I've worked hard at earning my pets and actually give them characters so they become real...magical, in a way. Recently I self froze an account so that I could create 'satyrs'- as I hope to have four of my unconverted ixi dreams one day and I'd like them all on that account.

Story

I realize that you have a stack of applications to read so I provided you with a synopsis of the story. I do not want to get too carried away and do everything for Valinsa if she's not coming home with me...(or if she is, then I'd have nothing to do for her when she arrived).

Valinsa was born into royalty but her spirit was always with what was considered to be the peasant life. Since her mother passed away of an infection shortly after her birth, she was left in the care of her father, the king. But growing up under a single, lenient parent fueled Valinsa's misguided wanderlust lured her into much mischief over the years. Always able to manipulate her father with feigned sadness or disappointment, she virtually runs her own life up until his disappearance. At the time her father disappears, Lin is celebrating her 20th birthday and coming into womanhood as well as stepping into her duties as a princess.

Without her father to shelter her and condone her rough and ruggish charm, the royal advisers are faced with the responsibility of preparing her to run her country. With so little direction and so much stress being dumped on her all at once, Valinsa flees her home and crosses path with a terrible sorcerer. As naive and sheltered as she is, she trusts that the people of her land love and respect her as their future ruler and falls directly into the dark magic of the mysterious character. Accepting a single enchanted rose, Lin finds one night that a powerful spell has been brought upon her and each night at a full moon's light she transforms into a hideous wolven beast that ravages the countryside. Needless to say, it becomes a concern of the people and Lin must seek the help of her castle staff to keep her transformation a secret.

While her transformation is out of control, she is still somewhat conscious of her actions and desires while she is in her werebeast form. Therefore she is able to curb new laws around the attacks of the mysterious creature, advising her people to come in before dark, never travel alone, and provides them all with red cloaks to be certain that she can recognize them if she does in fact come into contact with them in the woods one late night. Eventually the word does get out the Lin is the creature and though some of her people are still willing to accept that, she flees from Altador and stows away on a ship all the way to Terror Mountain. With her kingdom thrown into dismay without an heir to the thrown and two missing crowns, many search parties are dispatched to find and return the lost princess.

Finally, you think, you've come to the end of the application. While that offers some relief, you soon realize that this isn't the end of your journey and in fact you have a lot more reading to do. So many applications. So little time. Story of your life. Perhaps you'll call it a day and wrap things up for now? No...no maybe you'll read a few more applications and just give yourself more time to think over what you've read so far? That sounds like a good idea, you nod. You scroll just a bit more to half heartedly skim over the conclusion area. Those parts are never interesting anyway, you think, and no one really expects you to read EVERY single word, right? They'll understand. You have way too much on your plate to fuss over small details like how a person says goodbye. They all sound the same after the first 3 or 4. 'Thanks for letting me apply, good bye and good luck'. Luck. Something you'll need. Luck and the strength to push on. Maybe just a few more apps...then you'll have a break.
