I once dreamed of the land, because I wanted to walk. Now that I have legs, I dream once again of the sea. But I have sacrificed one thing for the other, and I am unable to return to the one place I used to call home.

You walk along the beach. It's a beautiful night, the sun just above the horizon, giving off a glow on the water. All is happy, well, it isn't for a lone maraquan ixi who sits on the cliff's edge, staring out into the ocean. Dreaming. You notice her, and walk up the cliff side to kneal down and look at her. Even though you are right beside her, she acts as if you didn't exist. But suddenly she speaks. Her unblinking stare never leaves the water, but she is obviously speaking to you.
I know you must feel bad for me, but you don't even know who I am. Nor can you really see who I am. For it is too dark for you to see..." Her saddened eyes fix themselves onto you. From the little light the sun gave off, it appeared she had cried. "I will allow you to bring a light, to see what I am... sadened about."
Hesitating, you slowly bring out a tiny lanturn from your pocket, and light it. You gasp ever so slightly as you look at what was a pure maraquan ixi. Robotic legs are where fins used to be. Her eyes, glowing from the tiny light of the lanturn, show much pain.
Yes, I have robotic legs, only because of a dream I once had." She turns back to staring at the sea. Not even telling you to turn the light off. "I wouldn't mind the company, as long as you don't mind me."

Personality: Even though Zak is a shy ixi, she isn't very hard to get to know. Once you have befriended her, she will be your best friend till the end, well, that is unless you do something so terribly wrong to betray her. But, lets just not do that. Zak tends to like being by herself, usually crying from what she mistakenly did to herself. She sometimes looks at the advantages of it, even though their aren't many.

Descript: Once a pure blood maraquan ixi, an old dream turned her into what she says is a monster. Zak tends to sit on a cliff at her favorite beach and stare at the water for hours.

Abilities: Because she has robotic legs, she is able to run for extreme long distances without ever getting tired.

Powers: Zak used to have powers, but ever since the transformation, she somehow lost them.

Weakness: Water. The one thing she loves most is now her fear.

₪₪‡ Story ‡₪₪

My story begins at home, in the grand city of Maraqua. I grew up there, but I had a very large curiosity for the overworld, meaning above the waters surface. My parents used to scare my siblings and I into thinking that the people above the water where dangerous creatures that were so terrible that they would hurt you at any moment if they could. But I knew that was a lie and I decided to find out for myself.

I kept going to the surface for many months, and I had made a few friends who told me about everything about the overworld. I was so amazing, I then wished I had legs. I wanted to walk and be like them. But no amount of magic could make my wish come true. That was when one of my friends mentioned something about a scientist who wanted a test subject to test out his new invention, but no one wanted to voluteer to have it done to them. I was so excited that I made them go and get him, to bring him to me so I could meet him.

Oh I met him alright. He was so excited that I was interested he talked and talked I thought he would never stop. By the time he was done talking I was so fixed on what he was saying, how I would get legs, that it never occurred to me that I had never asked what my family thought.

I left them for a dream I had. I would never see them again, I didn't realize that until after he had made me legs, when I noticed they were metal. I had robotic legs, and I could never return to the sea. After the first experament, where he had just added legs to me, he wanted to do more. I let him, and he stuck to upgrading my new legs. Six times he upgraded them. Three times to make me run faster, twice to make it quieter everytime I took a step, and another.... to destroy all of my ability to weild magic.

Yes, I could use magic, I was studying it for many years. I was rather powerful, then he did something that made me loose that connection with my magic. He had pushed it too far.

I then overheard him talking to one of his coworkers about some other experament to be done to me. Ofter I heard that, I ran. And I ran as fast as I could, and as far away as my legs could take me. I never wanted to see that man in the white jacket ever again.

It has been at least two years since then, I'm glad to have gotten out of there. He had stopped looking for me, and I hope it stays like that. I would rather die than to become his rat again.

Sure he looks evil and all, sure he CAN be evil, but he's so nice and would do anything to protect me. But I rarely see him though, I understand since he has some kind of 'god' thing going on in his life seeing as he is immortal. He does have his mood swings, when he acts more like Seth than the nice King Tut. Those you dont want to be around, but even if you accidentaly get yourself in one of them, he would try and control himself and would never hurt anyone innocent. ^^

Tig
She's such an awesome friend. Tig may have some problems of her own, like I do, but Im always there to help her out, like friends do. Tig is a water spirit who got sent away from her home, and understands what its like to be an outcast. Since I met her, I dont feel so alone anymore. :3

I don't even know why I have Inkanae. He just randomly started following me around one day. He must have thaught I was its mother or something. Inkanae is kinda cute, even when Im not really sure what he is. Looks like a ball with horns and a ton of hair on him. He also likes to drool and sleep a lot. Crazy bugger.

Zak sighed deeply. "Well, it was a pleasure to meet you guest. But, I must leave now. If you wish it, you may come back another day. I will always be here." She smiled a friendly smile before she turned to leave. You watch as she disappears into the trees, leaving you there on the cliff by yourself to watch the sun finially sink below the surface of the horizon. The moon bright overhead, you think it was time to head back home. You never know what may be out.
