.Introduction.
Darkness. Not a trace of light except for the illumination of the ambient moon in the dark sky. As you look into the distance, you see a figure of shadow on top of a hill. You wonder what it could be and start walking towards it. After a long walk, you finally reach the hill and you notice the creature is a starry Zafara with his pet Anubis. The Zafara turns arounds and sees you. He smiles.
Oh, hello. I didn't hear you coming. Please sit ^^.
You sit down next to the Zafara and ask what his name is.
My name is Yatkusai. What's your name?
I'm guest. Nice to meet you Yatkusai. What're you doing up here?
Stargazing ^_^.
You look up at and surprisingly you see millions of glowing stars. Do you go stargazing every night? You ask.
Absolutely. I enjoy watching the stars.
Really? Why do you love stars so much? You ask.
Well...it happened quite a long time ago. My first time coming to Neopia, Ryuu (my owner) and I visited the Rainbow Pool. Back then I was a joyful little Shoyru and at the Rainbow Pool there were so many different Neopets painted in various colors. However, I saw this starry Zafara and in that moment, I was instantly captivated and desired to be a starry Zafara just like the one at the Rainbow Pool.
Ohh, I see I see.
I begged Ryuu to buy me a Starry Zafara Morphing Potion xD. She did and after my transformation, I became interested in the stars and the Space Faerie. I learned a lot about the Space Faerie but nothing more than her battle against Sloth and how she's rarely seen. Nothing would make me more happy than to meet the Space Faerie in person. I've been watching the stars for a long time...hoping to catch even a glimpse of her. But for now, I'm happy with just being able to know that she's out there.
You smile and think about what Yatkusai has said and continue to gaze at the stars. Suddenly, you see and shooting star fly across the sky.
Make a wish, and it will come true. Someday, I hope mine will be granted Yatkusai says as you open your eyes and see the shooting star fly off into space.

.Star Facts.
So you want to know something about the stars? Curious about their existence? Or what makes a star...a star? Here is some information that will be sure to interest you.
What is a star?
A star is a massive, compact body of plasma in outer space that is held together by its own gravity and, unlike a planet, is sufficiently massive to sustain nuclear fusion in a very dense, hot core region. This fusion of atomic nuclei generates the energy that is continuously radiated from the outer layers of the star during much of its life span. Individual stars differ in their total mass, composition, and age. The total mass of a star is the principal determinant in its evolution and eventual fate.
Did you know...
All stars are composed of hot glowing gas. The outer layers of some stars are so empty that they can be described as red-hot vacuums. Other stars are so dense that a teaspoonful of the material composing the outer layers would weigh several tons. Stars are made chiefly of hydrogen and a smaller amount of helium. Even the most abundant of the other elements present in stars- oxygen, carbon, neon, and nitrogen- are generally present in very small quantities.
Did you know...
About 5,000 stars can be seen with the eye, although not all of these stars are visible at any given time or from any given place. With a small telescope, hundreds of thousands of stars can be seen. The largest telescopes disclose millions of galaxies, which may each contain over 200 billion stars. While light from the Sun takes only about eight minutes to reach Earth, the farthest stars are so distant that their light takes billions of years to reach Earth.
Did you know...
Astronomers have identified stars that are as young as 25,000 years old and others that are more than 10 billion years old. The Sun is 4.6 billion years old. Astronomers believe that once medium-sized stars are fully formed, they may last up to 10 billion years. While the Sun's core will probably run out of hydrogen in about 7 billion years, the very hottest stars spend their energy much faster and die- or become dark and cool- much more rapidly.
Did you know...
The color of stars- ranging from the deepest red through all intermediate shades of orange and yellow to an intense white-blue- depends directly on their temperature. The coolest stars are red and the hottest stars are blue. Most stars make light by several different kinds of thermonuclear fusion, a process in which the nuclei of atoms combine to form a heavier element and release energy. One of the most common thermonuclear fusion processes occurs in stars when four hydrogen atoms combine into a helium atom, releasing energy that is transformed into light and heat.

.Constellations.
A constellation, in astronomy, is any of 88 imagined groupings of bright stars that appear on the celestial sphere and that are named after religious or mythological figures, animals, or objects. The term also refers to the delimited areas on the celestial sphere that contain the named groups of stars.
The oldest known drawings of constellations are motifs on seals, vases, and gaming boards from the Sumerians, indicating that constellations may have been developed as early as 4000 bc. The constellation Aquarius was named by the Sumerians after their god of heaven An, who pours the waters of immortality upon the earth. The division of the zodiac into 12 equal signs was known around 450 BC by the Babylonians. The northern constellations known today are little different from those known by the Chaldeans and the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.
Some well-known constellations contain striking and familiar patterns of bright stars. Examples are Ursa Major (containing the Big Dipper), Orion (containing a figure of a hunter), Leo (containing bright stars outlining the form of a lion) and Scorpius (a scorpion). Other constellations do not encompass any discernible star patterns, and contain only faint stars.
The patterns of the constellations are figments of people's imagination, and different artists may connect the stars of a constellation in different ways, even when illustrating the same myth. When you look at the stars, you can see into your soul.

.The Twelve Heroes.
Long cherished as one of the most outstanding kingdoms in all Neopia, Altador nearly faded completely into myth before making a recent reappearance. Word is quickly spreading that two young heroes, a Lupe and an Acara, had something to do with the great city's restoration. Now, thanks to the aid of Queen Fyora herself, it seems that the Darkest Faerie is once again trapped... this time in a place where Fyora can keep a close eye on her.
With the Darkest Faerie gone, the kingdom of Altador is no longer at risk, which is why it's been made accessible through a portal located in Faerie City. The citizens of Altador are still somewhat dazed by the thousand years that have passed since they were last free, but they seem to be slowly recovering. It appears, however, that many are having trouble remembering the impressive history of their city.
The Sleeper
Just as a hero must perform a heroic deed before he can be named as such, a villain must also do something terrible in order to earn such a title. The Betrayer was not always an evil being and was once even respected for her deeds. Long before the Great Betrayal, (in fact, before the founding of Altador), she earned her place among the twelve Founders by saving the life of King Altador himself.

The Dreamer
Though she lacks the worldwide fame of other Neopian faeries, Psellia is well known and revered for her kindness in Altador. She always does her best to encourage others to achieve and is always there to catch them if they stumble in their lives. A rather inspirational figure, Psellia is known throughout Altador as "the Dreamer."

The Dancer
The true worth of a kingdom, it is said, should not be judged by the wealth of its treasury, but by the happiness of its people. An excellent example of this lesson can be found in the form of Sasha the Dancer, a Cybunny who had the gift of indomitable spirit.

The Collector
When it comes to financial dealings, it is very easy for one's morals to slip, since greed is a very powerful and terrible desire. Those who can resist its call are greatly valued for their honesty. That is why Gordos, our Skeith tax collector, is always smiled upon--even when he comes to collect.

The Gatherer
The gentlest heart in our world belongs to Fauna, an Acara whose kindness knows no bounds. Fauna always had a knack for nurturing living things. On the small farm where she grew up, the apples Fauna tended grew to an enormous size and were the most delicious in all the land. Everyone smiled and waved when Fauna walked through town, and Petpets often followed at her heels.

The Hunter
It is a little-known fact that Altador, the Lupe hunter, did not name the city that bears his name after himself. Rather, when the time came to name their future city, all twelve council members submitted a name by placing their ballot into a box. As Altador pulled each piece of parchment from the box, he was surprised to find that everyone but he had written "Altador" as their suggestion. In a single action, Altador demonstrated his hallmark humility and sincerity, and the loyalty he inspired in others.

.All About Novas.
The Nova
A nova is an explosion in a binary star system composed of a main- sequence star and a white dwarf. The explosion dramatically increases the brightness of the system (to about 300,000 times brighter than the Sun) within an interval of about a day. Novas tend to remain this bright for a few days or weeks and then slowly fade. Novas are different from supernovas, explosions that typically destroy or radically alter a star, because the stars in a nova continue to exist much as they were before the outburst. Astronomers believe that a nova explosion is caused when the gravitational pull of one star drags the atmosphere of the other star onto its own surface over a period of between 10,000 to 100,000 years. When the collected layer of atmosphere becomes thick enough, a thermonuclear explosion occurs. After a nova outburst, the stars return to their original brightness relatively unchanged. Between 25 and 75 novas erupt each year in the Milky Way Galaxy.
The Supernova
Nova is Latin for "new", referring to what appears to be a very bright new star shining in the celestial sphere; the prefix "super" distinguishes the supernova from an ordinary nova, which also involves a star increasing in brightness, though to a lesser extent and through a different mechanism.
Astronomers have observed two types of supernovas: thermonuclear explosions and core collapse supernovas. They believe thermonuclear explosions occur when a white dwarf exceeds its limiting mass, or the highest mass at which it can remain stable, and collapses, triggering a thermonuclear runaway (fusion of higher and higher elements). The energy released in these thermonuclear reactions causes an explosion that ejects large amounts of radioactive nickel into space. This radioactive nickel then decays into iron and cobalt.
Core collapse supernovas occur in stars containing a core completely transformed by nuclear fusion into iron, which is incapable of generating more energy. At this point, the core may collapse and become a neutron star or a black hole (if the star is massive enough). The core collapse happens very quickly, in a few tenths of a second. Astronomers believe that as the core collapses, the collapse causes shock waves, which travel from the star's core to its outer layers, causing the supernova explosion. Only five supernovas have been observed in the Milky Way during the past 1,000 years.

.The Space Faerie.
Living among the stars, the Space Faerie's powers of mental telepathy have gotten the Neopets out of numerous scrapes. The most famous such incident is the time when she rescued Neopia from Dr. Sloth by turning the power of his own Mutation Ray against him, thereby destroying Sloth's Space Station. Few ever get to actually see the Space Faerie, but everyone knows and appreciates how well she protects Neopia. Through the silent vacuum of space she flies, always wary of forces that may attack from outer space (namely, Dr. Frank Sloth).
The Space Faerie's ability to feel pain when the Neopets are in harm's way insures that she'll always know just when swoop in and save the day. Watching over and protecting both the Neopian moon of Kreludor and the floating Space Station has made it hard for her to keep her eyes on everything that's going on in the space around Neopia, but through her tireless efforts, the Space Faerie has repeatedly halted Dr. Sloth's attempts to overthrow Neopia. If you look up at night, and think that you see a shooting star whiz through the sky, it just may be the Space Faerie flying through the cosmos.

.The Sun and the Moon.
.The Sun.
The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. The Earth and other matter (including other planets, asteroids, meteoroids, comets and dust) orbit the Sun, which by itself accounts for more than 99% of the solar system's mass. The Sun's light and heat influence all of the objects in the solar system and allow life to exist on Earth. The Sun is an average star- its size, age, and temperature fall in about the middle of the ranges of these properties for all stars. Astronomers believe that the Sun is about 4.6 billion years old and will keep shining for about another 7 billion years.
The Sun is sometimes referred to by its Latin name "Sol" or by its Greek name "Helios". The ancient Greeks grouped the Sun together with the other celestial bodies which moved across the sky (in relation to the starfield), calling them all planets.
The Sun is extremely important to Earth and to our solar system, but on the scale of the galaxy and the universe, the Sun is just an average star. It is one of hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way, which is just one of more than 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe. The Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy at a distance of approximately 25,000 to 28,000 light-years from the galactic center, completing one revolution in about 225–250 million years.
The Sun is a magnetically active star. It supports a strong, changing magnetic field that varies year-to-year and reverses direction about every eleven years. The Sun's magnetic field gives rise to many effects that are collectively called solar activity, including sunspots on the surface of the Sun, solar flares, and variations in the solar wind that carry material through the solar system. The effects of solar activity on Earth include auroras at moderate to high latitudes, and the disruption of radio communications and electric power. Solar activity is thought to have played a large role in the formation and evolution of the solar system, and strongly affects the structure of Earth's outer atmosphere.

.The Moon.
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It has no formal English name other than "the Moon", although it is occasionally called Luna (Latin for "moon"). The Moon is the second brightest object in Earth's sky, after the Sun, and has accordingly been an object of wonder and speculation for people since earliest times. The natural satellites of the other planets in the solar system are also sometimes referred to as moons.
Telescopes have revealed a wealth of lunar detail since their invention in the 17th century, and spacecraft have contributed further knowledge since the 1950s. Earth's Moon is now known to be a slightly egg-shaped ball composed mostly of rock and metal. It has no liquid water, virtually no atmosphere, and is lifeless. The Moon shines by reflecting the light of the Sun. Although the Moon appears bright to the eye, it reflects on average only 12 percent of the light that falls on it.
Lunar phases are the result of our seeing the illuminated half of the Moon from different viewing geometries: they are not caused by shadows of the Earth on the Moon that occur during a lunar eclipse. The Moon exhibits different phases as the relative geometry of the Sun, Earth and Moon change, appearing as a full moon when the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the Earth, and becoming invisible as a new moon (also named dark moon) when they are on the same side.
Solar and lunar eclipse are not observed every month because the plane of the Moon's orbit around the Earth is tilted by about 5 degrees with respect to the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. Thus, when new and full moons occur, the Moon usually lies to the north or south of a direct line through the Earth and Sun. Although an eclipse can only occur when the Moon is either new or full, it must also be positioned at (or very nearly at) the intersection of Earth's orbit plane about the Sun and the Moon's orbit plane about the Earth. This happens about twice per year, and so there are between 4 and 7 eclipses in a calendar year.

.Tsuki the Anubis.

Tsuki, the wonderful pet whom I wouldn't trade for anything in the galaxy. When I was young, I met Tsuki in the Lost Desert. It was a long time ago, but I'll never forget the day we met. This was the first time I ever went to the Lost Desert. There I was exploring the lands and visiting the local shops. When dark came, I still wandered around for a while and then I saw him; an Anubis that was sitting alone whilst gazing at the night sky. It seemed like he was waiting for something, but I didn't see anyone nearby so I asked the Anubis where he came from or if he was waiting for someone. He shook its head and I asked the Anubis if he wanted to come with me. For a moment, he looked at me which such magnificent eyes that reflected the moon's light; then it barked happily and we've been together ever since. Tsuki's name means "moon" like on the night when I first saw him, a full moon was shining. Somehow, I believe that we were meant to find each other...something about the stars and the moon being together. When I look back on that fateful night, I kind of wonder if Tsuki was doing more than merely looking at the dark sky. Perhaps he was actually deciphering a message hidden in the stars...as if to discover his path of destiny, and he knew that fate would bring us together.

.Family and Friends.
Ichiromaru is my little brother. He prefers not to be called by his full name, but Ichiro for short. Ichiro loves to travel around the different worlds in search for adventure. The only way he likes to travel is by sea rather than by land. His favorite place to visit is Krawk Island. Ichiro goes there for training at the Academy, playing Bilge Dice, and searching for buried treasure. When it comes to treasure (mostly dubloons), he's a bit...crazy o_O. Ichiro loves any and all kinds of dubloons coins. He may be perhaps the strangest Pirate Zafara you'll ever meet. Ichiro is also sometimes called the "Pirate Prankster," as he is known for his practical jokes...mainly against me, of which I am not amused ¬_¬;...
Totomoko, my best friend. We've been friends for a very long time and there is nothing that can come between our friendship. Totmoko and I do practically everything together and we even have our own series in the comic section of the Neopian Times. It's called Random Silliness and we have been featured doing the weirdest, silliest, and funniest things that no other two Zafara friends would probably do. We're just fun that way xP. And Moko isn't like the other spotted Zafaras, either. That is because he is the one and only Snow Spotted Zafara in the world. Why he loves the snow, I have no idea because I hate the cold and the snow -shivers-. If you're ever in the mountains, you'll probably be able to see me and Totomoko playing Snow Wars; but I'll most likely be buried under the snow x).

Yahiru is one of my closest friends. She's great to have around because she's gracious, respectful, friendly, courteous, polite...words just can't express how amazing she is. I've known Yahiru for as long I have known her older brother, Totomoko. We're great friends and she is the love of my life. Whenever I'm around Yahiru, she makes me happy and she has a way of comforting you when you're feeling down. One of things I love about Yahiru is her personality. She's always great with others and never shows signs of remorse or anger. I love to see her smile and I love to see her when she's happy. Yahiru is always by my side, and I by hers.

ZaLeStRiAL is also one of my best friends. I met her right after Totomoko. She is faerie Zafara, but none like you have ever seen before. ZaLeStRiAL is absolutely wonderful; sweet and kind with a gentle spirit. She is always in good spirits, even on the days when she feels sad, there's always a smile on her face. I'm sorry to say that currently, ZaLeStRiAL is no longer with us. She had to leave, once again. I know how sad Totomoko feels about ZaLeStRiAL leaving us and I wish she would come back. I truly miss her; she's been one of the greatest friends I've ever known. Her whereabouts are unknown, but I know that wherever she is, ZaLeStRiAL is trying to find her way back home.
