Playing Key Quest might look like this.

And no, you DO NOT have to buy a plushie or trading cards to be able to play.

Redeem Your Code

There was a question in Editorial 328 about Key Quest.

I just read and saw on Neopets that you are going to be creating Key Quest. Apparently, you get the Keycodes off of merchandise and then you can play the game. You are not going to get rid of the site as we know it now, are you? I hope this will just be a new game in the Games Room. ~princezuda

This must be rumour day. No, we're not going to replace the site we've spent nearly a decade building up with a single game. :) We have no idea how people jumped to this conclusion. We have a page about Keyquest here. Also, as stated on the page you will not be forced to purchase merchandise in order to play. Please forgive any 404s linked to the info page; we're still in early beta and it is a work in progress.

Getting a Code

There are 2 ways you can get codes. The Neopets tokens can be gotten from plushies. See Air's Plushie Guide for more information.

The Heroes and Faeries tokens can be found in trading cards. However, getting a token from the cards is very rare.

Redeeming Your Code

When you redeem a Rare Item code, a window like this will come up:

A picture of the token and the prize you received will be shown. Redeem your codes here.

When you buy all fourteen plushies, you unlock the Nova token, shown below.

Your Collector's Case

There's a lot of things to do in your Collectors Case. Visit yours here.In your Case, there are 6 main "parts" you should be aware of; the Information Section, the Categories, the Help button, the Settings button, the Favorites button and the Quick List button.

The Information Section tells you about the user whose Case you are viewing. The username and avatar the user is currently using are at the top. Underneath that, the title of the user is shown; currently there is only Key Quest Noob. The number of collected tokens comes next, out of 18. Games Played: N/A shows there will be ways to earn tokens outside of buying Merchandise. The gold, silver, bronze and dull grey keys may have something to do with the keys in the pictures above, maybe you need to collect them.

The Categories are how you navigate around the Collector's Case. Neopets has 15 tokens, as of right now the only way to unlock these is by buying Neopets plushies from Target stores. (See my other guide, on Air's petpage for more information on the plushies.) Underneath that is Petpets, which have not yet been released. Then theres Faeries and Heroes, these feature The Darkest Faerie, Jeran, and Princess Amira.

Villians and Special, like Petpets, are coming soon.

The Help button does just that, it helps you.

The Settings button is where you can change your preferences or Case theme. You can make your Collectors case viewable by anyone, only your NeoFriends, or private. New themes can be unlocked by buying NeoCash cards (see previous section).

The Favorites button shows you the twelve (or less) tokens you've chosen as your favorites.

When you put tokens on your Quick List, you'll have the option to use the chosen tokens while playing Key Quest.
