Welcome to the sixth station!
A woman came over the loudspeaker of the train station. She said, "THE NEXT TRAIN WILL DEPART IN FIFTEEN MINUTES. IF YOU WISH TO BOARD, PLEASE DO SO NOW.
This was your train; you decided to board because you didn't want to waste your ticket (even though you were confused as to what the name of the sixth station actually was).
Shortly after the train began its engine and rumbled out of the station, you fell asleep. It wasn't until a bell chimed and a voice came over the speaker saying "Arriving at The Sixth Station!" that you awoke.
You stepped onto the platform and found that, not only were you all alone, but you were on a tiny island. On this little island was a small building with a sign that read "TRAIN STATION 6." There was also a larger, more welcoming building with a sign that read "The Sixth Station" in fancy script. So it's not just the name of the station! You laughed at your confusion and opened the door to the building.
You found yourself in a cool, spacious room. The walls were white and a very light blue, with dark mahogany furnishings. There were two desks at the other end of the room. Behind them were tall windows and a pair of French doors that led to a balcony with a view of the sea. At the desks sat two girls whose nameplates read "Snowflower" and "Muse."-
-"Hm? Oh, hello!" The one called Snowflower greeted you. "Welcome to The Sixth Station!" they both chimed.

• May 22nd, 2012 We've been advertising on the boards today! We've also received one more review to do: Jenna's Font Site!
• May 21st, 2012 We've recently been added to two directories: The Secret Library and The Shelf! We've also received our very first review as The Sixth Station for a site called Vanity Set.
• May 20th, 2012 - And we are open for business! After a LONG revamp, Sparkling Reviews is now known as The Sixth Station! We're back and better than ever!
Hello there! Welcome to The Sixth Station, run by Snowflower and Muse. Previously, we were known as Sparkling Reviews, but after a very long revamp, we re-opened our doors on May 20th, 2012 with all new reviews! If you've previously requested a review from Sparkling Reviews and added a button to your site, please change it to our new ones.
We need your help! If you use Safari or Opera please send a Neomail to Muse or Snowflower informing us about how the layout looks in your browser. Please list any bugs/errors/etc. A screenie would be very helpful! ^_^ So far, we know that the layout looks good in Firefox, Chrome, and IE.
rules & criteria

• There are some sites we will NOT review. Those sites are: Guild webpages; about me pages; about pet pages; other review sites; applications for Snowflower's pets UFA; any offsite page. There will not be any exceptions to this rule.
• You are allowed to request a re-review after two weeks, but we need to see some improvements.
• Please link back to the homepage after we review you! You can find link back buttons in the sitely section.
• If you wish to get to the next section, click on the link that can be abbreviated to "ARTS." When the application says "You know November has come when..." you say "It's gone away."-
• A link back button to your site isn't required, but it does make the review layout look a little neater. XD
• An Important Note: These are just opinions. They are not things that you are required to do. If you disagree about something that I wrote in your review, feel free to Neomail us nicely. If you are rude about it, well... All we have to say is, you're the one who requested the review. You wanted to know what we had to say about your site, and we told you.

style: asking for your ticket (pets)
Asking For Your Ticket (Pets) is for pet applications. After doing some research, we've come up with a rubric that could help you reach your goals. This review may seem heavily-weighted, but most sections are almost given points. Our reviews do NOT guarantee that you'll get what you're applying for, however.
Guides that were used to create the rubric: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.Focal points: First impression; layout; content; why you want the pet; why you should be allowed to adopt the pet; details; being polite. First Impression /15
- First impressions are important. This is what I thought when I saw your site.
- 7 points for layout quality; 8 points for text on front page
Layout /10
- Layouts are also a big part of an application. It's almost like dressing up for a job interview.
- 5 points for organization; 2 points for matching your application (maybe something involving the species and/or its color); 3 points for practical design
Grammar/Spelling /20
- Whether or not the owner of the pet you're applying for can read your application greatly affects your chances. We can help you proofread! We both love to write, so you can trust us. XD
- 10 points for grammar; 10 points for spelling
Politeness /20
- This is a BIG part of an application. If the one receiving your app. feels that you come off as aggressive, rude, etc, you probably won't be picked. Be sure to be polite!
- 15 points for... politeness. :P
Why I Want to Adopt the Pet /10
- Give them a good reason to let you adopt the pet. Something like "I like the color" probably won't go over too well.
- 10 points for why you want to adopt the pet
Why You Should Choose Me to Adopt the Pet /20
- Also extremely important! Show the current owner that you'll be a responsible owner and that you'll take good care of the pet.
- 20 points for proof of responsibility.
Achievements /10
- The importance of your past achievements vary from owner to owner. Usually, they're only semi-important, just to show that you take care of your account. List your avatar count, trophies, etc, here.
- 10 points for a list of achievements.
Followed the Rules /30
- This is probably one of the top three most important things to follow when writing an application! FOLLOW THE RULES! We'll read the owner's rules and make sure that you followed them. If you don't follow the rules, you'll most likely not be selected.
- 30 points for following the rules.
Backstory /25
- Backstories are usually pretty important; they show that you really care for the pet and really want to adopt him/her. Even if you're not the greatest writer in the world, the current owner will be pleased that you tried. c: To improve your chances, check over grammar/spelling as best as you can.
- 25 points for a backstory.
Details /15
- Any other little details that you might want to include.
- 15 points for details.

Jenna's Font Site - May 23rd, 2012

Site Name: Jenna's Font Site Owner: anime4bleach (Jenna) Type of Site: Font request site Type of Review: Outside the Window
First Impression 9/10
- The site is very eye-catching and is easy to navigate. There are really no problems here. It's very bright, so probably those who visit the site will be very happy about that. Nobody likes a layout that's dull, and you made an excellent one here. The intro text is very nice, and very straightforward as how to request a font. There is a little glitch down at the bottom where the text gets cut off a bit, but that's probably not a big deal.
6 points for layout quality; 3 for text on front page.
Content 27/30
- Very good fonts. You've made plenty of them, and they look rather nice. Maybe, though, post a picture of how the font looks next to the 'pickup' section. That would make it easier to double check that everything works out fine. You lost points here because you could really do a little more organization on the font examples. Try putting some examples on the front page maybe. ^.^
27 points for content.
Spelling and Grammar 10/10
- There are no errors here!
5 points for spelling; five points for grammar.
Organization 19/20
- It's very easy to navigate this site, but the layout is a little bit different from normal. Some people might have trouble with it, but it's very good.
9 points for being easy to navigate; 10 points for organized.
Fonts 37/40
- Your fonts are very creative! They're colorful, a little quirky, and nice. You have made plenty of them in your portfolio, so people can see that you actually know what you're doing. Try, though, to maybe put an example or two on the front page. That may also help out some. 37 points for your fonts.
37 points for your fonts.
Sitely 8/8
- All of your affies, listers, updates, and link back buttons work and are updated!
-
2 points for affies; 2 points for listers; 2 points for updates; 2 points for link back buttons.
Total: 110/118 or 93% Things to improve on - Try to put the font examples next to the pickup spot, like previously stated. Another Note - Very nice, over all! Reviewed by - Muse
Vanity Set - May 21st, 2012

Site Name: Vanity Set Owner: annika1211 (Annika) Type of Site: Guild Directory Type of Review: The Sixth Station
First Impression 9/10
- The text on your homepage is very informative and helpful to navigating the site; the only thing that would be a bit more helpful to add to it would be the legend (which I later found in the sitely section). It'll be more helpful to put it on the first page, where it'll be easily seen.
5.5 points received
- The layout looks great, and the banner does seem to match the name of your site! The only tiny problem with it is that it might load slowly on slow Internet connections.
3.5 points received.
Layout 8/10
- The layout is very pleasing to the eye and the banner certainly matches your site's theme. It appears as if the Tonu is using a lipstick tube, which certainly ties to the name of the site, Vanity Set! Your layout is also practical because it doesn't use colors that strain the eyes, or make it hard to read text.
3 points for a practical design, 2 points for matching the site's theme.
- Your site is pretty neatly organized, especially when it comes to the "Foundation" section. However, I'm slightly confused as to what the subcategories in each sections represent. For example, in the "Concealer" section, there are three subcategories: Pale, medium, and dark. Even though there are only guilds listed in the "pale" section yet, I'm confused as to what the other sections will stand for (along with the subcategories in other sections). Do they represent the age, or some other attribute?
3 points for organization.
Content 13/20
- I understand that your site is new, so you don't have many sites listed yet. However, to list more sites in a shorter amount of time, it might be a good idea to browse through the guild boards and find more guilds to list. I would recommend asking the guild owner if it would be alright to list them beforehand, though.
13 points for content.
Spelling/Grammar 14/20
-
Intro:
- We offer a variety of newly created guilds to guilds well established" might sound better if it were "newly created guilds to well-established guilds.
- In the future I will be doing reviews for Guilds;" 'guilds' should not be capiolized.
- If you are looking to find what kind of guilds we have here to offer head on over..." A comma between 'offer' and 'head on over' would make the sentence flow better.
- ...such as theme less or role-play so on and so on..." Since it's a list, there should be commas between each example, such as "themeless, or role-play, so on and so on...
- If you already know what category you are looking for then off to the side of categories you will see where each of them are located such as the art guilds are located under the 'Gloss' tab." This sentence is a bit confusing. Perhaps a good wording of it would be, "If you already know what category you are looking for, then off to the side in the navigation, you will see where each of them are located. (For example, the art guilds are located under the 'Gloss' tab.)
- Now you know how to navigate around, if you need any more questions contact annika1211." This should be divided into two sentences. Like, "Now you know how to navigate around! If you have any more questions, contact annika1211.
-
Rules:
- Your guild should be active if it is not it will be deleted (yes I will check to make sure it is still up and running)." It's a bit of a run-on sentence. Perhaps, "Your guild should be active. If it is not, it will be deleted. (Yes, I will check to make sure it is still up and running.)" Take notice that there's pretty much a sentence in the parentheses. I just recently learned myself that, if you make a main point and you put it in parentheses, you should have a capital and a period, just like any other sentence. :)
-
Foundation:
- Hello there I'm guessing your searching for a guild right? Well you've came to the right place." The first sentence is a run-on sentence. If you don't want to break it up into "Hello there! I'm guessing you're searching for a guild, right?" then it would be correct to put a comma between "hello there" and "I'm guessing." In terms of spelling, "your" should be "you're," and "came" should be "come." As in, "You've come to the right place." Saying "You've came" would be saying "You have came," which is like saying a double-past-tense. If that makes sense. XD
-
Eye Shadow:
- To join an Age requirement guild you have to reach the age limit to join or you will not be accepted, the ages tend to range from 15-18 and alot will be 21." 'Age' should not be capitalized. There should be a comma between "guild" and "you" in the first sentence. There should be a period instead of a comma after "accepted." 'Alot' is actually two separate words: 'a lot.
-
Gloss:
- These guilds are all about making art hence the name "art themed", whether its from layout making to paint we got them listed." There should be a comma between 'art' and 'hence.' There should be a period after "art themed," then making the word "whether" capitalized. There should also be an apostrophe in the word 'it's,' in this case. "We got them listed" should be "We've got them listed," and there should be a comma between "to paint" and "we've got them listed.
-
9 points for spelling; 5 points for grammar.
Organization 15.5/16
- The navigation is easy to use. As I previously stated, the only thing with the categories that was confusing was the subcategories in each section. Another thing that I previously mentioned was having the legend on the first page, rather than the sitely section. Other than that, it's easy to navigate and organized!
8 points for navigation; 7.5 points for organization.
Sitely 11.5/20
- I can see the updates in plain sight; that's five points right there! However, the link back category is confusing. You have the two link backs shown in a box to the side, and in the sitely section, you have a giant text box with both of the codes in it. That makes it so you can't tell which link you're using. To make it easier, I recommend having all of the buttons shown in that section, then a text box with the corresponding code underneath it. If you're not sure how to do that, feel free to check our coding section, or you can ask us. C:
- You don't seem to have that many listers, and you don't have any affies at all! Just like when it comes to listing those guilds, don't wait for link directories and affies to come to you; get out there and find them yourself! Don't be shy; as long as you're polite to them, they'll probably be polite back to you. :) You don't have to have affies, but it's a good thing; affies advertise each other, so it'll be good for your site. (If you don't actually want to have any affies, just Neomail me (Snowflower) and I'll adjust the score.)
-
5 points for updates; 4.5 points for link back buttons; 2 points for listers; 0 points for affies.

Muse: I'm very thankful you chose to be reviewed by The Sixth Station. :3
S: Now, some of you may be wondering where "The Sixth Station" came from. Others of you who might be familiar with Studio Ghibli probably aren't wondering. X3 "The Sixth Station" is the name of a song by a composer called Joe Hisaishi. The song was used in the Studio Ghibli film by Hayao Miyazaki, Spirited Away. When deciding to do the revamp, I figured that it would be a good name for the site (I say "I" because Muse hadn't joined me yet). And that's that. ^_^

unless you're muse or snowflower, you shouldn't be here... and it's pretty impressive that you made your way here... or maybe it isn't... i really wouldn't know...
So, yeah, these are the codes we use when we're advertising on the boards. o_o Please don't steal them.
Title:
Opening Post (may take more than 1 message):
So, yeah...
f.a.q.
Why won't you review about me/pet/guild, other review sites, or off-site pages?
Well, it's obvious why we won't review off-site pages; we don't want to go to some site that might be some scam. We also would really prefer not to be frozen for promoting off-site pages. XD
In terms of review sites: Everybody has their own style of reviewing. We refuse to judge people based on their styles and opinions.
The same could be said for about me pages: Judging you on your likes/dislikes and awarding/taking away points based on our own opinion? That's just wrong! Nobody has any right to tell you what you must like/dislike. The same with about pet pages: They're your own character. You get to decide how you want them to act, and you get to decide what personality you think is the best.
In terms of guild pages... We don't really see the point... It's just a little info page telling about your guild. Why do I have to wait two weeks for another review?
Two weeks is a spacious amount of time to fix errors. Why do I need to link back to your page?
Why not? o_o These reviews take a surprising amount of time and effort to complete, especially when the requester wants a link sweep. We'd feel like we did the review for nothing if you don't link back. And we need to be noticed too, ya know! XD Why do I need a link back button?
It just makes the review layout look a bit neater. You don't really need one. I don't like what you wrote about me in my review!!!
Please go back and read the last rule here. Criteria
Why do you have a set amount of points awarded for specific things?
This is mainly for us. Before Snowflower created this system, she was just estimating how many points she should take off. She didn't know exactly why she was deducting points, or how many. This is just so we don't take off more points than we should. How many re-reviews can I request?
As of now, you can request as many as you want! If we get a person who ends up requesting ten of them, however, we might add a limit. So far, that hasn't happened though. o_o In the "Layout" section of the criteria, what do you mean by, "Matches site purpose"?
Does it have anything to do with the content of the site, or is it completely random? For example:
Matches site purpose: An Altador Cup guide with an Altador Cup-related layout.
Does not match site purpose: A Bruno's Backwoods Breakaway guide with a Faerie pet layout. Why don't you count sister/brother sites in the "Sitely" section?
There aren't too many sites with sister/brother sites, so we'd feel bad taking away points for not having one. Reviews
I don't see my review on the page! ;A;
Don't panic! There's an archive section where you can find most past reviews. :) If your review was completed after March 9th, 2011, then it'll be there. I don't agree with something you wrote in my review. :/
If that's the case, then please nicely Neomail the person who did your review and tell them what's wrong. You might be able to work something out, and we might change your review depending on the situation. We always make sure to be polite while we're reviewing, and we'd like you to return the favor. If you send me a Neomail lashing out at us, you will get a reply, but your chances of getting anything in your review fixed are slim to none. Staff
Can I work for you?
We're very happy that you'd like to work for The Sixth Station, but right now, we're not accepting new workers. ^_^ Coding Help
Why don't you show us how to make [code bit here]?
It's either because we don't know how, or it's a code that is no longer supported by the filters. But if you think that it needs to be here... *pokes next question* I have a suggestion!
Okay! Send it in to either of us! :) Other
Hello!
Hi! :D Where can I find out more about you?
Well, here's Snowflower's about me page and user lookup, and here's Muse's lookup. *nods* Can I Neomail you for fun?
Sure, unless your idea of fun is harassing us. :D Can I Neofriend you?
Neither of us accept friend requests unless we know who you are/have spoken to you.

Nota - Bom trabalho! ^_^ Análise Por - Snowflower
about the sixth station
The Sixth Station was created after the revamp of our previous review site, Sparkling Reviews. The entire revamp took almost a whole year, mostly due to the real world being extremely busy. The remaking of our previous review site started on August 28th, 2011, and The Sixth Station didn't open its doors until May 20th, 2012.
The name The Sixth Station comes from the song by the same name composed Joe Hisaishi for the movie Spirited Away. I thought of the title while on a train ride around mid-evening, while the sun was setting. I was listening to "The Sixth Station" while passing close to a river, like in the scene of Spirited Away that the song was used. Although the song is slow and a bit sad, it's still peaceful and calming. For a happier song, we could've gone with "One Summer Evening," also by Joe Hisaishi, but somehow, it doesn't have the same ring to it. X3
- Snowflower We're very serious about our work here at The Sixth Station. We do our best to work on your review as soon as we get the request. Either Snowflower or I will do them, and I hope we do the review to the best of our ability. TSS always puts our best foot forward when doing reviews. We look at everything required of a normal review and more. And we always put more effort than the normal standards require.
TSS in the future is gonna be epic. We're planning on adding all that we can into this. I'm hoping maybe to add some more reviews and more features, perhaps a site spotlight. c:

about sparkling reviews
Sparkling Reviews was the name of the site before our revamp. The idea for the site was first thought of by Elle, our guild leader. Elle offered to start the site with Snowflower, and work began on the site during the summer of 2010. Sparkling Reviews finally opened on September 2nd, 2010. Right off the bat, we received reviews from many wonderful sites, with Race Trak being our first. (Sadly, however, it has since closed.) We were lucky enough to find and acknowledge many interesting sites. (Some of which are still around today!) Some of the most interesting sites we've reviewed include Inscribe, Whoops!, and Say What? (the last of which is closed).
After a little over a year, Elle decided that she (understandably) didn't have enough time to help with Sparkling Reviews and left. Snowflower ran the site by herself for a few months before asking Muse if she'd like to help, to which Muse accepted. Sparkling Reviews had fallen back a little bit by then, so we decided that it was time to fix the site up a little. After nine months on revamp, Sparkling Reviews was closed on May 20th, 2012, and replaced with The Sixth Station. We're back and better than ever!
