OMIGOSH!! What are you doing here?" A large mutant flotsam questions as he swims up to you full speed. Cupping his mighty tail down, he slows. "Are you hurt? Bleeding? Drowning?? D8" The flotsam questions, moving his head around your body. You stare at him blankly. "oh, um...I didn't think humans could breathe underwater. So I had to make sure you know..you were ok?" Realising where you were, you found yourself in a panic. Gasping for air, you reached for the surface. But for some reason, it was as if there was enough air under this water to breathe.

You are a strange one." The flotsam stated. "This water is awfully dirty and radioactive. But I guess, the radioactivity enables you to breathe here." Staring back at the Flotsam, you give him an unsure look. "Well, stay close, I'll run you up to the surface if you find yourself needing some air. But while we have the time, mind if I show you around?

Well, I'm just your typical, average Flotsam. Er, I would be. If it wasn't for my apperance I would be able to live the same way the other Flotsam do. Happy and carefree. But I guess I didn't have much of a choice in that department. My mother lived here, under a toxic waste dump. She was trapped here, in this lake. The river that had led to the ocean dried up do to the mass amount of global warming here. She was forced to breathe in mass amounts of radioactive elements which mutated me. When I was finally born, I was granted a third eye, deformed face, and gills with skin so thin you can see the blood cycing through underneath.
My mother stayed with me for as long as the she could, and it was actually longer than I expected. She died two years after my birth. But I never met my father. I assume he lives in the ocean somewhere, searching for the river opening to this lake. Too bad he doesn't know it dried up a long time ago. I heard stories about my father from my mother though. He was a strong minded purple Flotsam. I wish to meet him one day though. But I'm in no rush. My appearance would probably make the quest difficult. With all the harsh words and staring faces. I guess it's the life a mutant pet must bare.
Well anyway, that's me I guess. Of course having your mother die and never knowing your father is crippling, I don't let it bug me too much. My mother described my father in such a way that it was like I'd known him forever. And my mother gave me enough love to last me the rest of my life. Her memory will be with me always.
All in all, living in toxic waste isn't all that bad when you are immune to it. But it did mess up the structure of my body. So, I dunno.
