It all began a long, long time ago
A very old ixi with long and worn horns was surrounded by smaller and younger ixis. Their horns were barely stumps and their fur was still short. The snowfall fell kindly on them and the cold harsh wind had taken a break.
A grey ixi spoke first. Tell us more stories elder!
Very well young ones, he chuckled. A faint smile ran across his greying muzzle. Do you want to hear the Snowager's legend? Or how about Goldenhorn, the founder of our clan?
The ixis whined in disagreement. A white ixi raised her head. Her left eye was covered by her long tuft of fur and her right red eye shone brightly.
What about the legend of Xraii? The cave protector? she asked.
The elder's eyes glinted in amusement. I see this young one is quite the clever one. Very well, I shall tell you the legend of Xraii.
The young ixis murmured joyfully. The elder stomped his hoof lightly for silence.
His old head pointed towards the mountains above them. It all began a long time ago, when my parents were just like you too.
A white ixi with grey dapples jumped up. You mean this actually happened? The ixis around her watched the elder closely.
Indeed, young one, he uttered. It all began with a demon and the disturbance of our clan's peace.
When there was only one monster

Diet: Xraii doesn't need food for survival, but she eats ice since its minerals keep her body alive.

Since Xraii is a created golem, she has no mindset. Her only task is to keep the demon from escaping the jewel.
Abilities & the demon's jewel
At first, Xraii was created as a container for the demon, to serve as a host. She was just a chunk of ice but took on her lupe-liked form when the Gyal elders inserted the jewel in her chest which contained the demon's spirit. Thanks to the jewel, she is able to move around despite her body being made entirely of ice. Xraii also taps into some of the demon's powers which includes traveling through dimensions and tele-porting. This enables her to escape swiftly from any harmful situation. Of course, she has accidentally stumbled upon other dimensions.
However, even though Xraii does not require sleep, she needs to shut down sometimes so she can regain energy. What this means is that if Xraii uses the power of the demon's jewel too much, it can run out and she needs to rest to recharge it. Xraii sleeps by freezing into a statue-like pose of a howling lupe, blending into the ice.
Tarali was assigned as Xraii's guardian and if the demon were to ever escape the jewel, Tarali would have to create another jewel to imprison the demon in. He acts very tenderly towards Xraii since it's just the two of them in the lonely ice caves.
