Look! Look! She's awake!" I awoke to these sounds. So many lab-coated scientists stood around me, writing away on their clipboards. I was in a glass container of some sort, filled with liquid. I had been in suspended animation. The scientists helped me out, as I would have drowned in a matter of moments. They immediately began examining me, but they were dissapointed. Something went wrong. They started saying that I was an intangible creature, a ghost. I don't know what that means, but I think it isn't a good thing. They started telling me how I was created, but I didn't understand most of it. They said that I was created from genetically enhanced lupe DNA. I asked what DNA was, but they just laughed and said they would teach me some day. The scientists also told me that I had a predecessor, a sort of beta version. She was an ixi, and something went wrong with her as well. She went emotionally haywire, whatever that means. So I lived in the lab for about a month. I happilly let the scientists observe me and take notes. Then one day, as my favorite scientist and I were out for a walk, I strayed away from him. I followed a cybunny, wanting to learn about it or maybe make friends. I lost sight of it in a forest, and realized I was lost. I searched frantically for him and for the lab I lived in. I came to the edge of the forest, and everything had a red-orange glow. I didn't know what was going on. I stepped outside and found the lab. It was on fire. I ran inside the lab, looking for my creators. I found the one that had taken me for a walk. He was badly wounded. Apparently, he had been attacked by my beta, Fi. He couldn't even stand up. I pounced on him, like I usually did when I greeted him. He let out a long groan, then he fell asleep. I went off to find Fi becuase I knew he needed some rest. I found her, and she attacked me. But, when she tried to hit me or rake me with her horns, they went through me. It was strange. I could touch other people, but they could not touch me. She ran off in a rage. I left too. The heat began to bother me. The next day, the flames had died down. The lab was in a remote area, so no one saw the fire and the fire department did not come. I went back inside the lab to go visit the scientist who had fallen asleep. I figured that he would've woken up by now. I went in there, and he was still asleep. I waited all day, but he didn't wake up. I looked around for all the other scientists, but they were gone. All of them. Without a trace. So I left the lab. I never came back. I wonder if my scientist ever woke up? |
