Hey, what's that?
Wasn't this forest lighter before...?
You look around; it was just daytime. How did it get so dark? Confused, you look to the sky. You spot something beyond the cliff ledge. A stallion...
He's a snowy-white color, and his mane and tail are a dark chocolate brown. His silver eyes pierce your soul. He has a black apaloosa marking on his rump with silver spots all over it. On his front right leg is a black marking up to his knee, and on his back right leg is a bandage. His hooves and horn are both emerald green. Nearby the stallion was a strange cobrall. It's dark red eyes penetrate the night. He has 2 purple rings around his neck, while the rest are crimson. The undersides of him are also crimson red.
The stallion looked insane, and tears were streaming down his face. He looked up to the sky and at the clouds. He let out a strangled sort of cry, not noticing you yet.
You stare at the magnificent beast. It shrieked a curse to the skies and his grey eyes shut. Suddenly, they shoot wide once more and he looks to you. The cobrall hisses and slithers upon the stallion's leg. He leaps off of the edge and the air below his hooves suddenly compresses. You gasp as he gallops through the air and down to you.
He stops in front of you, eyes wide. He was handsome but he looked crazy.
You look at him blankly. He stares back, equally as blank.
He smiles. You blinked and ease a bit, happy that this strange creature isn't evil.
I'm Xinako, and this is Vargo. We live here. Sorry that you...had to see that." he said softly, looking down.
Before you can answer, you grabs your sleeve and says happily, "Hey! Hey! Come with me, I'll tell you about me!" Again before you could reply, he speaks.
And off we go!" he says happily. He leaps into the air and you both fly away to the heavens.
My Story
I was born into a large herd of wild unis who traveled the lands. They ruled over most uni herds and if there was another herd preventing out grazing areas, we could easily get them away from our territory. My father was the leader of the pack. He was a strong, muscular, handsome nightsteed that could scare off even the fiercest of predators.
I was born a strange colt. I was white, like my mother, with my father's emerald horn and hooves. I had a black apaloosa marking on my back (like my mother) and a black marking up my front-right leg. But none of that was anything to them.
I had no wings.
Every stallion and mare, along with all colts and fillies in the herd had wings. Some had no horns, but they had wings. Some were blind, but they had wings. Why was I so strange?
Thus, I was a failure in my father's eyes. But my mother never allowed me to dwell on that; she had enough love for both of them. I hid behind my mother all the time to keep away from my father. I had no friends, and none of the older mares or stallions even glanced at me.
So, once I was old enough to be off on my own, and after telling my mother I loved her and goodbye, I left the herd.
There were many unis out there without wings. I knew that for a fact; many of other herds had had no wings. So I knew I wouldn't be alone in the REAL world.
I was under a dark shadow. Rejection was painful, as was the absence of friendship. I was sad and alone in this cold world.
But then, my luck changed. On a beautiful summer day, I spotted an elegant mare. She was a vibrant violet color, with a blue mane and tail. She had 3 spots on each side of her rump that were silver. She had no wings, nor a horn.
I knew I had to become her friend.
I trotted over to her. She was beside the river, her neck bent over in a graceful position as she gently lapped up the water.
I yawned a bit, attempting to draw attention, but failing. Then, I rolled around in the grass.
She began to giggle as she looked over to me. Her eyes were a dashing coal black.
So, what's your name?" I asked her quietly once I returned upright. She smiled gently before saying, "It's common courtesy to say your name before asking for another's."
Oh...her voice. It was beautiful. Like an angel's.
Okay then, my name's Xinako." I said curtly. She smiled gently. "That's better. My name is Moonkiss."
What a beautiful name for such a beautiful mare.
We became fast friends. We went all over Neopia, laughing and becoming better and better friends. I was so....happy. That was...a shock for me.

We were in a forest. I had started a fire so that we could both get warmer, since it was near winter. We were both now fully-grown.
Xinako?" she said gently. I looked over to her, startled. I had thought she had fallen asleep.
Never change."
I blinked as I stared into her beautiful, coal-black eyes. Her breathing became mine, and our friendship blossomed into love.
We finally found a land to settle down and, maybe, eventually have a family. But at the moment, it remained only us.
It was a small village. There was a long, stone road that twisted and turned through the village. Small houses were on each side, including an inn. The owner of the inn, a stallion named Tom, who was a kind but strong guy.
Moonkiss was a maiden among men. She was one of the few mares in the village, and the prettiest one of them all.
But she had me to protect her. Most stallions kept their greedy hooves away from her because they knew that otherwise I would attack them.

On a cold night, Moonkiss told me to follow her up a hillside.
My love, where are you taking me?" I asked her as I trotted up the steep hill with an immense amount of un-certainty. She smiled back at me.
Patience, my darling. You shall thank me soon enough."
I smiled at her. She was still the most beautiful and elegant creature in my eyes.
We arose to the very top. It had a beautiful view of the crescent moon above us. She smiled at me as I finally came to a halt.
Where are w--" I began, but she interrupted me gently.
Shhh...my love, calm yourself...location does not matter."
She rose her head and looked to the sky as she suddenly began to lift. My eyes widened; she was flying!
This is the Art of the Bird. You can fly like this...I can teach you." she said with a smile.
So, she taught me. After long months of torturing myself to figure out how to work this power, I finally learned. And those months, only brought Moonkiss and I closer.
Then, one day, it all changed. ~~
I gently nuzzled Moonkiss and smiled to her. "I have to go somewhere. Look for me by moonlight, okay, my love?" I said gently. She smiled and nodded.
I galloped off down the road that twisted and turned through the village.
You're mine now, my darling..." said a voice. Moonkiss whirled around only to see Tom, the inn-keeper. There were men behind him...poachers!?
They all leapt for Moonkiss. She whinnied painfully as they tied her up and held a musket beneath her bosom.
We have to kill off Xinako before Moonkiss can love me." said Tom to the poachers. They smirked as they all ran to position themselves on different, hidden sides of the road.
The poacher that held a gun to Moonkiss smirked. "You should warn him with your blood." he said cruelly.
No one dared to come and save her. Everyone was either asleep or too frightened.
Look for me by moonlight..." my voice echoed in Moonkiss' head. She gasped gently as she looked to the sky. The moon was showing.
As predicted, I came trotting down the road.
Moonkiss' eyes widened. She bit the poacher's arm that held the gun. He yelped in pain and shot her.
My eyes shot wide as I stared to my love's lifeless body as it crumpled to the ground.
I spurred like a mad-man, shrieking a curse to the sky. I came galloping down the hills as I slashed down Tom, who fell lifelessly to the ground. I went for the poachers. I killed them all, or so I thought.
I whinnied in pain as I collapsed to the ground. A bullet had entered and exited my right-hind leg. The poacher smirked before turning around, stealing all the money that was in the lifeless Tom's pocket, and ran.
Gasping for air, I looked to my lifeless love as she hung there, her head drooped down, blood all over her chest and legs.
Moonkiss...." I gasped. "I'm sorry..."
Then, I shut my eyes.

Are you alright? You had me scared there for a moment."
I moaned. There was a bandage around my leg. I looked up to where the voice had come from.
It was a woman. She had long, flowing silver hair. She had wolf ears and a wolf tail. On each cheek were two navy blue scars, and on her forehead was a black crescent moon scar.
I stared at her. She smiled.
Don't be sad. You must remember what she said."
My eyes widened. She said 'Never Change'. She...didn't want me to be upset....
So, I became happy. There was no point of being sad. Moonkiss was in a better place now.
My name is Shiori."
I'm Xinako!" I said happily.
Shiori smiled. "Xinako, would you like to be under my care?"
I stared at her before grinning and nodding vigorously.

There was never some kind of miracle. Moonkiss is still dead. She always will be, nothing will change that. I keep my bandage on all the time, because the wound is slightly revolting.
I wish she was alive though...my Moonkiss...I'll always love her.

Heh, Reen's a cute lil' ixi. The only one of the family, she is. She's very shy and timid, and wherever she walks ice forms under her hooves!! I would hate that. I would be cold all the time. D:

Eyrie is the only...well...eyrie of the family! Her daughter used to be in it but...she was killed. By..."Them", as Shiori says it.

The other stallion of the family. He looks mean and acts like it a lot, but he's actually a pretty good guy once you get to know him. He's in love with Uni.

Uni is a dead mare. She is in pergatory though, as is her bearog. When she gets too angry, she turns into this terrible demon! Agh, so scary. D:

If Torii isn't pure, then I don't know what is. She used to be a scum-bag that broke stallion's hearts, but after a curse and the death of her daughter, she became a dying mare of purity. Yes, she is dying, but she is still one of the most nicest mares I know.

The Ice Queen!^0^ I don't see why she's an ice queen, cuz' this mare has nothing icy about her. She's a very polite, sensitive mare who cares more about everyone around her than herself.

Aegeta's a funny mutant grundo! Haha, he's always acting tough and out hunting, but he values his friendships and family.

Mali died. D: But luckily, she was able to come back as a ghost. She said she loved me before she died, and...then she planned to kill herself. I quickly tried to stop her, and she said she wouldn't, but then an accident happened and she died anyways. ;_; Luckily, she's still with us in ghost form. She's my bestest friend, and nothing more!^^

Vargo the Cobrall
*Hisss*
Woah! Careful now... Vargo's a fiery little cobrall who doesn't like much company besides me. I found him in the woods one day.
I was trotting along, bored out of my mind when I felt something bite my tail. I yelped, shocked, as I whirled around to see the little black cobrall. I stared at it as it hissed at me.
I waited as it slithered up my back. Not wanting to provoke it, I began walking as if nothing happened.
Then, he bit my ear! (Luckily, he's not poisonous.)
I howled in pain again as he let go, and then curled up on my back and went to sleep. I looked back at him. "I'll name you Vargo, lil' buddy!" I said happily, even though my ear was in excruciating pain.
I still get bitten by him every once in a while, but overall, we're an inseperateable pair--
