Philosophical input
Some of us have realized, that to prevent disappointments in the Altador Cup, we have to shift around our perception of what we want out of it. What I mean is that the way to work this around and actually have better results is to focus on a single goal. But it's not enough to have a single goal in mind at all times, you also have to be as clear about it as you can imagine. I'll teach you this and help you find the right goal for you, the necessary determination, and how to apply it. This little section will have an additional page dedicated to it, which you can expect once the new layout is done and put to action, along with the remake of HQ's original pages.

Sometimes focusing is all you need.
Darigan for the finals
We swept TM yesterday, can we do it again?
While VP meets with KI in a fight for 1st place and KD + MQ both try their hardest for the right to wear bronze, we are fighting against Terror Mountain to have our lucky streak of 7th place(already had it twice!). Which is not bad, cause we'd make a record of our own. Positive. :) Just now were have to go at them again.
Today is your, no, our last day of the cup, and, dear Darigans, this is a Celebration! Be merry, jolly and devote time to decoration of those shiny ranks with some memorable numbers you've desired. C:

Just YYB or can I do the side games too?
This may be a new game, but those playing from the start have already gotten used to it and can quickly operate in the new version. And now, as we've discovered it's great to multitask with the side games. Say, you open Slushie Slinger and click back to YYB. Score a few goals, and you already have 3 lines formed in the side game. Give them the slushies and score some other goals or do a game or two of SD or MSN. By the time you return to SS, the game will be going fast, and you won't have to spend much time on it. And YYB, for the most part, won't move if you aren't gone for long. Then you can finish YYB, start a new SS game, and continue on with the sides or YYB. That way you won't get bored or feel as monotony, and it's kind of fun. :)

Former champs, will they give up?
LD has just faced FL, meaning they aren't tired at all. Sure they aren't doing quite well, often losing, yet we have to look into their minds from a different viewpoint. We have been in their place and we know what it's like, yet, in all that time we were down there, did we once stop going? fighting? believing? Because it was our team we cared about most, we played whether the game was a sure loss or a win, and so will LD. In their minds, they have not once stopped. Besides, there's a funny thing about playing under the flag of Darigan Citadel - other teams never really know if we're going to be good or bad this time, and if they dare assume something about us, we are quick to prove them wrong, whether in a good or a bad way. A lot of teams choose to pick us as their rivals or enemies, it might be something like a love-hate relationship, but what it means is, that a lot of teams strive especially hard to beat us. They seem to gather all their energy to face us. So will LD. Yet there's this thing we haven't in a while and could really use - sweeping a team. We can absolutely take today to beat these champs in every single game.

Previous Slushie Slingers turn into one of the big teams?
TY has done well becoming a strong team this year, and, after constant work and forgetting about backing down, currently resides in 2nd place. They seem to know all the game fields, but slightly lack in YYB and MSN. Not that we complain finding their weakness be our strength. But not to be fooled! TY has beaten MD and drawn with KD, meaning they might as well be very ready for us, not to mention a nearly flawless SS record.
Our strategy for today would be giving constant attention to YYB, of course MSN, AND, why not be cheeky and suddenly go crazy on SS? Throw them off their record? :D
Yess, dear DC, we can be even cheekier and put constant thought into sweeping them. :P
Old rivalry between us.
We have always fought back and never let KI take the upper hand when a match between us is set. It's like when we are against KI, it doesn't matter what teams and how hard have we fought before, cause we can take our energy and focus it all on beating KI. And we've gone like that more than once. So today, dear team, let's put our focus on SWEEPING them krawkies off their measly little island!
Now, in YYB KI has 6 wins and a draw against our 7, they have beaten strong teams like TM, LD and HW. Their loss to KD cannot be judged as KI being weak, for KD is one of the strongest teams, but KI might be right under them, as we don't know. That renders going in full force in YYB a very smart idea.
Now, some of you might think: uh, I'll play a 20, others will do the rest, i mean, we've won so far, haven't we?, but there's something wrong with that sentence: it's correct on winning so far, but the sentence doesn't imply what KIND of teams have we won. And the teams we have beaten have been weak and average, but now it's time for the powerhouses. Just so you know, neither does that sentence imply that we are not strong or that we can not, it only implies that we have yet to beat them, focus all our mind on it, today, and show what a magnificent powerhouse we OURSELVES are, and that KI has a legit right to be scared.
RI strategy.
We have beaten this team more than once on the final standings, can we sling them into space this time as well?
The answer is: Sure we can. Now just to look at bit at team analysis:
Roo island may be low on the standings, but they're just under MD, who, if we remember, beat us on the second day. Now, in turn, RI has beaten such strong teams as LD, MI & SK, and drew with HW. To look further, their main base is YYB, and they have stolen some SD wins too, making these two games ones to look into really seriously. YET, we cannot forget about SS and MSN, we should steal a first win in SS, and 6th straight win in MSN. Now, the opportunity here is to use the team, who's strength doesn't lay in the side games, and take wins in them, so we can use them to get into the finals. The finals may be a long way from now, but these wins are very valuable, so we say: go ahead! let's get those wins and make our first clear sweep like the previous years! (Oi, remember the sweet year when we swept the roos and got first place? yeah - go, DC!)

Is Slushie Slinger important?
After the SS loss against AL, we ought to make a decision to give some focus on this side game too. It might seem insignificant compared to the other games, but remember that in the occurrence, where two teams who are going for a chance in the finals, and they draw in YYB, SS is weighted more than SD and MSN, rendering the game, in fact, important. More important than we realized. This is a fact we have over-looked for the past years, and need to look at a new lighting.
How to make SS more appealing?
Try starting the game, then playing 4 games of SD, and when you return you'll already have 3 nearly full lines waiting for your Slushies. Serve them all, then play another game or two of SD, and then SS will be going fast, and you won't even have to wait the part. :)
We did well against BV.
Looks like, when we can put more effort into SS, we can actually do good. Now if we tried that again, it would give us a win too, and we all know how important each win is. After all, this year we're not going for any small place, no. It's important to realize that we, The Darigan Citadel, are going for the FIRST place. That's right, we're going for the GOLD, meaning, if we want to win the cup, we have to start winning is as much game areas as possible, to be the number one team this year. Remember, that what other teams do is irrelevant, as long as we keep going, because only one team wins.

MD steals some YYB.
Alright, so there's a good thing in another team winning us, especially in our favorite game, and that's the realization that we're a bit chaotic, but can do better by playing with sweeter dedication to our team. (: To be honest, it's probably just getting adjusted to the new YYB. Now that those who played yesterday have gotten the hang of the newest update, we can go in full force against BV and make them forget what their goal in AC was in the first place. No time for underestimation however, they beat MI and swept AL, meaning they have a solid base of players, often known for being an all-star team. Yet does it matter? Not in the least! As long as we keep playing and take control of the field, they can do nothing.

Faerieland sweeps DC? Oi, not really.
Well, they did recently fall from the sky, no wonder it's still glitchy here or there. (FL is a fantastic team, btw.) Good job on getting the 3 wins; now, focusing on SS should be turned into one of the board's priorities. Breaks between YYB could involve SS, and, to be honest, it's quite relaxing this way. Heads up and beat that MD YYB!

The first match has begun!

Pwned RI. Again!Congratulations, DC, on earning 3rd place and completing our trophy collection with this wonderful bronze!
A special thanks goes to our All-Stars, who played the hardest to lead Darigan Citadel to the finals and earn 3rd place!
There are many others who weren't far from the 20th rank, to those we wish success next year, a year when we're bringing the Darigan Powerhouse back. That is, we're no longer letting other teams dominate the standings.
Cherish this win and train, practice, spend time focusing on all the good ways we can win next season!
Go, Darigan!

That's right. Now when you want to do a Team goal or a Tourny, why not Challenge someone?
How do these things work?1)By tradition, they are sent and handled only through neomail.
2)The person who receives a Challenge is bound by honor to do it.
3)However, if the person has been challenged twice the day, they may decline.
4)Both you and the person you've challenged do the task.
5)If the person currently doesn't have time, the challenge is left in queue until they're both available.
6)Winner is determined by the type of your challenge you chose to give:
e.g. if you're going for 100 YYB goals you can pick the winner who:
*is quickest to reach 100 goals
*reaches 100 goals in less games
*scores most (e.g.) Darigan yooyus within the 100 or
* has the highest GPG
7)Challenges are meant to be fun and achievable, thus it's not in the spirit to ask for e.g 150 yyb games or 50 SS games. Keep them light. :)
8)Challenges are here to make each day fun, because you never know when you might get a mail from a fellow HQer. C:

Hey you!
-...
Yeah, you!
-... oh, me?
Yeah, you!
-:D What?
You're in our hall of fame!
That's right! DCHQ has decided to propose an idea of a Hall of Fame to be added to the existing pages. The purpose of this page would not only be as a display of honor for those who put large amounts of time and strength for our team, but also promote team spirit and working to achieve wins. Meaning, a new member of the HQ would be inspired to work more, should he or she see how much we already have been doing, and how we support those who choose to put in their share of sweat to bring Darigan Citadel a collective win.
Now, a hall of fame, would not only promote achieving high levels, but also being kind, helpful, positive, supportive, and doing all those things that give us a great team spirit. This means annual awards of e.g. 'The most cheerful Darigan spirit', 'The most hardworking member', etc., etc. and so on.
Now what'cha say? :)
+
The Book of Memories would love to give you an opportunity to make a fabulous banner by drawing something funny/lovely/interesting or just about anything that reminds you of some of the DCHQ events, or the Cup itself. (You can browse through the listed memories and illustrate them as well to be your drawing) After you'll have that, we'll stick the pieces together and make a wonderful banner for the part, so that the Book of Memories has something we've all done together. Oh, and the art doesn't have to be something you spend 70 hours on, what matters, is that we do it to make a banner together as a team. :3 Your art would also be placed in the Hall of art, so that's another plus! ^_^

Only 2 months till HQ opens member spots for ACV, and only 3 months till the Cup! :))
It's time to stretch some of those muscles, perhaps attend a gym to get them back in shape, and we should be ready for the fresh start, new opportunities, games, matches and our new, hardworking team. Darigan Citadel surely will be a favorite for many this year and get much support, which means, this will be one of the best years for our team!
TO THE FIRST PLACE!

One of the most waited-for time of the year is finally here. It might be quite freezing outside, but Christmas is definitely one of the most loved holiday, so DCHQ & our YYB team wishes you all the best, and enjoy the festivities! :)))

Shenkuu is a tough, friendly and hardworking team who will crush anyone that underestimates their power. In our previous match we had a draw in MSN & SD, lost in SS and won in YYB. What is going to happen today?
Forget the word 'tired'. You are not going to be tired, if you sleep for at least 6-7 hrs. Yesterday means nothing. Forget LD. Forget it. Today is a new match, and lingering on past will ruin our chances for today. We are going on the field for a WIN. Do not lose your trust on our strenght. Do not lose belief to yourself. But do not count on a win, if you yourself are not going to be a help today.
Every player matters, every person. We can't win if we only play 40 games each, but we WILL win, if we play AT LEAST 90 games each. SK is extra determined to win us, what would almost guarantee their participation in the finals.
Same thing goes for us, only SK is our last chance to hop in the train. If we play like true Darigans today, if we show everyone that we are not a weak team, then if we win, and after that beat KD and all the rest of the teams, we're in the finals.
This is not exaggerating. This is a warning and motivation. DC deserves to be in the finals. WE deserve to be paid off with finals and trophies for the hard work. WE ARE GOING TO DO EVERYTHING TO WIN TODAY.
Darigan.
Edit: We didn't try our best, therefore lost. We have to pull ourselves together!

Latest games: RI, FL
Strengths: YYB, SS
KL, our once faced opponents, is a determined little team. Since their comeback, they want to prove everyone that their team is worthy to play in the AC, and that having them stand out in ACIII was the wrong choice.
Now, we swept them on June 4th, can we do that again? Our own team is determined to go forward, and to break out as the 1st top team. So let's do this! Let's sweep KL and show that we are not the kind of a team, that underestimate their opponents, and will fight hard for every win! Let's double-sweep them!

Latest games: VP, AL
Strengths: YYB, MSN, SS
HW is a rather strong top team this year, and beating them will require lots of playing. This team does not underestimate their opponents, and has a large, solid team. After the latest games they are more than relaxed and ready to bring us down. Now all this depends on whether /we/ are going to let them. We're frustrated about the out come of the LD match, so let's revenge on HW, and prove them, who's the real evil!!!
Are we ready, Darigan?!!! Let's show them a real Darigan game, and sweep in all four! Play hard!
Let's avenge the first year, everyone!!! edit: Success! :)

Latest games: TM, TY
Strengths: SD, MSN
This team might be 2nd to last, but it doesn't mean they will not fight. We have to make sure we sweep them. Winning small teams is our back-up kick towards the finals in case we aren't strong enough to win the top teams. Which means we cannot have DC vs. VP happening again,
So let's sweep them, DC!!!

Place in standings: 4th
Team's Potential: 1st
Latest games: HW, MQ, KD
Strengths: YYB, SS
Special: Best scorer with 5.5 GPG
Needless to say, SK is one of the strongest teams out there, maybe even stronger than KI. This team is well motivated, and has a large amount of dedicated, hardworking players. They might be tired after KD, but it doesn't mean they will not fight. SK is motivated to beat DC to get in the finals, and keep their best scorer 1st. SK will also work harder, because their tomorrows match with KL allows them to play more today, and play less hard tomorrow.
What gives us an advantage, is that our next game is with AL, and that our match with MQ yesterday allowed us to save our strength for this game. And we WILL use our chance to sweep SK out of this years finals. Now are we ready?!!!
Or strategy is giving our everything in all 4 games, focusing on YYB, for a win in that will give us a serious kick towards the finals.
Darigan force, ATTTAAAAAACK!

A situation we have been into - RI as the last years winners:
Latest games: SK, HW, FL
Strengths: YYB, SS.
RI is being brought down with freeloaders, and some of their all-stars have left them. This however does not mean they are going to be a team that can be easily beaten.
They are very motivated to fight especially against Darigan(oh, buy, aren't almost all teams?), and prove them that the 'winners curse' is not going to stand in their way.
RI thinks of DC as their rivals, mainly because of us sweeping them in ACII finals. Therefore, will fight with extra determination. Their boards have set up high goals, and they are serious about fulfilling them.
Now, their determination, is what makes our team get motivated, because we do want to show them who's the better team, right?
So our plan is to work in all 4 games, and especially watch our for SS & SD, because we are in for victory!
SO LET'S SHOW THEM, DARIGAN!

Latest games: VP, SK, KL
Strengths: YYB, SS, MSN.
First off. Forget anything you've ever heard about TY. If we believe stereotypes, they are going to use this to their advantage.
Second, this is a team who wins thanks to their opponents underestimating them. TY actually is a very strong team, we can see that by their results and by their determination. E.g. the results for the TY & HW game were close to a draw. This means, we have to play with a lot of determination, because TY is THE team, who will trip any team, that underestimates their tenacious determination.
Tyrannia is not tired judging by the latest matches, and seeing how they could beat KL, is rather motivated to upset an even bigger team, t.i. - us.
And so. Sweeping TY (which only the strongest, toughest, hardworking team could do) is one of the golden key to the finals. Should TY want, they could trip us too, but are we going to let them?!
Let's fight our game, let's do marathons of YYB, regular SD, and beat them in the games they are most determined to win no matter what - MSN and SS. But remember, always remember - YYB first, or they will surprise us with a change of strategy!
Go, DC!!!!

Latest games: HW, KL
Strengths: YYB, MSN.
Let's begin with that MI has not had the best last two games, this means that they will be playing with extra motivation, yet our game worries them. This makes them feel like they have to beat us to prove that they are finals material. Which results in a very big motivation.
MI may be in 3rd place, but they only have had 2 sweeps, and that's from FL & AL. This proves that MI can be beaten, and that it's not a hopeless case.
And what we are going to do? - We will use our greatest weapons against them! Going strong in all four games can bring us victory. However, we must play much like we played against KI, because MI is highly determined to beat us and show who's the boss, but we aren't going to let them do that, are we?!
DARIGAN, FOOORWARD!

So. Let's begin with with analysis:
TM's latest games: RI, LD, TY, FL.
Strengths: SD, MSN.
Will surprise us with, if we underestimate them: YYB, SS.
So. TM hasn't had a hard week at all, this means they are ready to fight for a win with us. They know DC has had pretty tough games lately, especially KI, therefore will try their best to beat us. They are extra motivated by their FL sweep. This means we cannot become superficial. No team can win without work.
Why is beating TM important? -Because if we want to be in the top, we have to use every chance we get, and TM is one of the rare chances.
Therefore team, it's up to us if we let TM win and forget about the finals, or do we take the lead and shatter their hopes.
*starts drawing strategy on a board*
First off. Everybody thinks KI is strong, and we know for sure that they have a large amount of players and also freeloaders. This is where their big strength goes to. The good players make up for the freeloaders.
Now, let's check KI's stats. first of, we see that they also have their weak points:
They underestimate teams they believe are weaker than them, us in that count. *points to SK & HW*,
They have had 3 hard battles in the past days, and yesterday they had the hardest match - against RI. They are tired, and we can use this to our advantage.
We cannot forget KI's hate for DC, therefore they WILL be fighting extra rough to beat us.
Today, is when our best team work kicks in. Today we forget about ANY chatting, ANY. Dead serious - COMPLETE DEVOTION TODAY. Workworkwork. All day long we will participate in tight team goals and work hand in hand. Po--game--st rule is very strictly in. This strategy is designed for a WIN. And when we begin, I want you all to think to yourselves - 'We are going out for a WIN'. KI's strength hides in their bigness and toughness. KI wins because other teams get scared thinking they are so strong, that they cannot be won; but WE KNOW THEY ARE NOT. That's why we are going to use this in our advantage and beat them now and today, hand in hand! GO, DC!!!

Quote from ACIII:
A new rule has been decided upon! Rule ''po—game—st'':
Every time we want to post, we have to play a game of MSN, SS, SD or YYB and post our score with the message.
This works against laziness and people who enjoy talking more than helping their team. ;)
Whaddya say?
--*holds up a finger* first play a game, then reply! :P--
And the board can only be bumped with a score of any of the games.

We actually needed something like this to be able to pull ourselves together.
When you guys joined DC, you know this will be about hard work and dedication. And no, 40 games a day is not enough.
I hope each and everyone realizes that it is our fault that we are not trying hard enough(with some exceptions).
Every newbie here is supposed to play and help our team as much as possible, and bored/tired is no excuse after 25 games, that becomes an excuse after 70 and more games a day.
How hard you try and how important your team is to you, is the key we need to bring our team to finals.
Now do we want DC to go down? Do we want to go lower than 7th place, or go higher?
It's all in your hands, because if a person plays as much as 20 yyb games, 3 SS & MSN and 1 SD, they are bringing our team DOWN. If you start with side games, make sure you play enough ammount of them. If you started with SS the day, makes sure you play /at least/ 20 games. Guys playing SD, 100 games is the min.
I'm saying this because there is something missing from last years. There's this spark we need to regain.
You would love DC to be the first team to become the champions twice, right? Then pull yourselves together! Let's go out on the field, fighting for a WIN, not a loss, not a draw, but for a WIN! Darigans who heard this, can move on to team analysis and begin on a strategy.
Team analysis.
*walks around the conference room with a referance sheet in hand*Today, teammates we are playing against Meridell. A Team who has been a rival not only in field. I'd like to inform you, that MD has quite the All-star group, and has recruited Brightwale's All-stars. So, out of this, we realize that we must play a good, clean game. By that I mean, today we are changing our strategy.
Today we will spend time offering attention to every game. For some time we all together will play all side games.
E.G. YYBers would play 20 games of SS, 35 of MSN and 50 of SD. Then give their all to YYB.
People who are better at side games, then would spend more on those, and less on YYB, say, 40 games(a YYBer would obviously play more).
In this way, we will make sure we have played every game and given our share for the win to happen.

Be ready, team mates, we will begin the new season with one of our favourite traditions - a team goal and a TOURNY!
DARIGAN FOR REVENGE!!!! Let's blast those Grundos back those space!

--*holds up a finger* first play a game, then reply! :P--
And the board can only be bumped with a score of any of the games.
A Mega Tournament? – Sounds new!
Want a tournament that Makes Some Noise while Slinging Slushies to the Yooyuballers? There you go: (using a 5-player structure)
Round 1:
5 players play 12 games of MSN – sounds easy? – it's just round one.;)
Round 2:
3 Best noisers move on to 200 goals of YYB. / 4th and 5th player competes in 150 YYB goals for a chance to play in the finals. – getting interesting?
Round 3(finals):
2 best YYBallers move on to Sluhies after the games and compete in 10 games for the 1st place/3rd & 4th YYBallers go for the 3rd place, same count of games.
-Confusing?
I knew it would be. ;)
An evil technical problem on neopets just stole us a couple of hrs of our game! :K
Brightvale:
As we all know, today our opponent is Brightvale.
I know we all worked hard yesterday... and WON! (at least in YYB and MSN), what shows that we CAN do it! We CAN still win, if we all do it!
But, as much as I'd like what happened yesterday, we have a new mach to do.
That neopets technical issue sure stole us quite the games of YYB, SS and MSN, so we have to kick in at this point.
Why is sweeping Brightvale so important?
-because this could be an easy win. That, of course, by no means could mean that we can afford to play less, no, exact opposite - we must play just as much, if not more - don't let yourself be fooled, because if we don't sweep BV, we can just as well say 'good-bye' to the finals.
I'm not exaggerating anything - this is the reality, and I expect Brightvale to be treated as any other team, that could easily beat us, if we don't work enough and are lazy.
Things change fast – as soon as we were doing better, we have made another draw, another loss…
BUT there is no way back! If we started, we WILL lead our team to the finals!
Not wanting to pressure you, but Since July 9th, we, The Darigan HQ undertake a part of the fault of a loss or a draw, if we haven't worked good enough!
Since July 9th there will be no more goofing around – we've come to a line, where there's no way back – you decide – work hard and win, work hard and get to the finals, or sit back and give up like a sissy!
Darigan will no longer deal with people who cannot put a leg into what we all are working for so hard!
A new tradition has taken place!
Now on every boards 3rd-5th page an new Tournament of (rotating) YYB, SS or MSN shall take place!
(Except, of course if the last Tournament has not been finished)
For Tournament info and structure mail me, t.i. – Grim.
Quote:
Let's start a new tradition, all!:D
On every boards 3rd - 5th page to start a Tournament (if the last is finished, that is)Where HQ can prove their own and master new techniques, compete with each other, find out each others talents and spend the best time as a team, while at the same time doing a great job at the battle field!:D
No one has said that it has to be all Yooyu - SSlinger and MSNoise Tournaments can be just as fun, if not even more, so DC for AC, HQ for passion and joy! :D
You know what… We're doing good! The further, the better! GO DARIGAN CITADEL!!!
Giving up is for the weak, and DC is not weak! Show 'em that a true Darigan doesn't fear hard time!
We have made a mistake! Drawing/losing to Meridell is quite a horror. LISTEN TO US WHEN WE SAY – DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ANY TEAM!!!! (especially because Meridell has quite the all-stars…)
Whoa… ended up with ~18days of the cup away for me…
Our Board is finally up! Quick, come and join us!!!
The Cup is finally out! Make sure you pick Darigan Citadel as your Team.;)
June 12th(!) but no Cup yet! TNT's going to be in trouble…
Kiko Lake is standing this cup out!
The colours of Kiko Lake are replaced with Kreludor colours!
There is a new ACIII avvie!
Looks like you will have to achieve a certain rank to get it!
(A rumour also says that because of the fire Yooyu in the avvie, it might be one of the ACIII prizes!!!)
