The murmurs around the room faded into silence, as the curtain rose to reveal a small jubjub. He cleared his throat, and all heads and ears swiveled forward to face him.

Maraqua has been known for it's royal family since the dawn of neopia." he spoke, his voice was hypnotic, soothing and attention-getting. "Many have traced the families in power genealogy back to the first king and queens, but I'm not surprised if they ever find gaps." He smiled as the eyes around him widened.

A long time ago, a princess, an heiress went missing." The auidience gasped, some more theatrical in others "but she was not taken, she was lost.

Misc: Xan's tail is long and the fins are mostly translucent. I tried to tie in most of the koi design by the basic design of her, although she is anthro. Her scales faded from a pure snow color to grey, and her eyes are a dull red, with large pupils.

Personality: Xan is extremely quiet. Trying to have a two-way conversation with her is like pulling teeth, but she doesn't mean to be difficult. Years and years of isolation from other fish have seemed to have glued her lips shut. She enjoys the silence of the caverns. Even if it's just another sign at how lonely she truly is. She swims silently through the many passageways, with her head held solemnly; grieving for those she's never to see again. Streams of tears run down her cheeks, she's been crying since day one, so she hardly notices them anymore. However, even lost in all the misery and pain for what she once had, there cling the few scraps of her former self; her shoulders are pulled back, and her hands sway neatly at her side, itching to see the sunlight once more.

Appendages: Gills on the side of her neck and her many fins.
Misc: Xan used to have pale white scales that glittered and seemed to dance when light touched them. Now, her skin is covered with a layer of dust, and grime that has removed the shimmering quality, turning them a dull grey. Her hair continues to grow longer and longer, the image of her with a pixie haircut shattered now. She has large red voluminous lips, which I styled like that of a fish. Her tail is a dark smoky grey, almost black, with dusty pearls and decaying seaweed draped over it. She still wears the rubies that decorate her clothing, but they've lost their luster as well. She wears translucent fabrics for clothing, that flow as if alive in the water, when she remains still. She's fashioned herself protective fingerless gloves, the cave walls used to slice her palms open.

Why Xan

I chose to apply for Xan for a few different reasons. I've been having some luck with drawing fish-like anthros recently, and wanted to create a character with this style. When I first saw your UFA page, I'd thought about Vertsteinert, but couldn't get Xan out of my mind. She's like a tick on your fur that won't let go. Taking this newfound creativity and combining it with a pet that I cannot forget; forged a beautiful character I'm truly proud of. I chose her, because she inspired me, and has much potential in case I ever want to re-design her, as I am with my other pets.

I gave in to my nagging doubt, and altered my application to create the character that would not leave my thoughts. I've been experimenting even more with markers and paints, and she keeps popping into my pictures. I enjoy drawing her, the colors, the clothing style, especially the lips, and the eyes. I think in time, I'll create her the story that came to my mind the minute I saw her, and the hour I first felt the need to have her.

To make everything clear, I yearn to have Xan as my own, because she is a character I will keep regardless of neopets. She inspired me to create something I am incredibly proud of, having her would be just the buttercream icing on the cake. I already think of Xan as a character of mine, a permenant one, being able to share that on neopets would be just perfect for me.

I say buttercream icing, because I do not like whipped icing, which is cheap and fluffy.

ApoCalypse

We've known each other for a while Nel, it's Amy, but with a new screen name. For some reason after the CGer scare, I felt compelled to create a new identity, but did inform people of the change. After a brief hiatus, (without petpages, the site just isn't fun for me) I returned to polish up my accounts, and petpages. I understand the importance of loyalty to a pet, I traded a pink wocky for a grey skeith, and now the guilt is insurmountable. I miss her dearly, and now completely understand the pain of trading pets.
Never again.

Xan would be a permenant pet, provided with the acceptable treatment all pets deserve. An identity, food, shelter, and happiness, it seems so little after what we offer to real world pets, but that's all a neopet needs.

I swear to you, that if Xan is chosen to join my family, you will never regret said decision. She will be treated with the utmost care, have constant attention, even if my interests rotate, and she shall be BCed like mad. "

I may lose inspiration between pets, some getting more attention than others, as I do have a life away from the computer, however I try to give a little bit to everyone even if I'm stretched thin. I may begin to downsize before the next year, but this is only for pets I have no inspiration for. I'll be moving pets around accounts and revamping petpages, so I will keep my promise that Xan will be cared for. It's one thing to disregard a pet you created, it's another thing to do it to someone you swore to do.

Introduction

On neopets, I now go by the screen name ApoCalypse, (yes with the funny spelling) versus my real name. If you have a hard time transitioning, you can still call me by that name. I love to BC all my pets, Jae is getting more trophies, but I have more real life responsibilities this year, so it won't be as frequent as I like, (I'll touch on those later).

Im working on about five different characters at once, testing the boundaries of creativity, and straining to keep everything within the 'appropriate material' area. Sorry, but I like to having exciting stories, which can include warfare and love, but those will not be displayed on neopets. As you may know, I'm also going to create a 'BC Art guide' that will define clearly the differences between anthro, quad and divide them up into categories. When this application is turned in, you could go to here to see construction, and learn on how you can help, if interested. To make neopoints, I'm testing the stock market, but most often random events and gaming is my income suppliers. I hope to see you more on BC, even if you are dropping the pet-chracter workload. Offline, I'm a quiet girl who sits in class daydreaming and drawing while making nice grades for college. I am a sophomore, or in tenth grade at age fifteen. I do not have my permit (which I yearn for so) but love to prove stereotypes wrong, and make people laugh.

I have more responsiblites this year, with an AP Course, and a higher level art class. I'm telling you this, so if I vanish for a day or two, it's because of school work or girl scouts. I'm very involved with my youth group, love to speak german to people, and debate on political issues.

Art is a part of my soul, I look at it and think of it spiritually versus analytically. I've done some powerful (as quoted by others) conceptual pieces, which may appear on my DA (Indubinum) if you are ever curious.

I love to get to know new people, and learn about other cultures. I may be young, but I will prove you wrong if you think I'm just some lazy kid.

Future Plans

As in her petpage, lookup, petpet etc. She will be residing on this account, with roommates, Indu and Jae. Hopefully a male roommate, Kot will be coming to live here as well. I also intend to feed her with the neolodge, so she doesn't end up crying on her lookup. I created her a petlookup, visible on Indu's page so you could get the whole effect. Her petpet, as mentioned before will be Karmine the Grey Blobagus. This means, you may give your friend the island uniocto :)

If you go to my gallery, you can see some of the items I have selected for her customization. A simple background and necklace, however I have been looking for a more appropriate background called the 'dark cave'. Too late, spendthrift me, made me buy it so now I can compare her backgrounds.

I meet you some time ago for an art trade on the BC chat. I haven't been able to BC as much as I like this year, but I have some easy weeks in October, that I intend to BC someone. Koi is a category I've never done, and it'd be awesome to get her some trophies. You see the image on the background her? I want that to be her first BC entry. Perhaps you'll s e her and spare us your vote?

I've already mentioned I'd seen the dark side of trading pets. I will never make that mistake again. I worked tirelessly on this application, and I will not throw it away for some other beautiful pet. Xan is a permanent pet, and will not be UFT or UFA ever. Except in the instance that I retire from neopets, would I honor you single request to keep her alive and give her a new home with another equally as loving owner as you are, and I hope to be.

I try my best to take care of my accounts, I put a lot of effort into them, and I will not get on TNT's badside or go to Iceland because of carelessness.

I do suppose, this account is older than my others, and has more avatars. I just hope to make it a strong neopets account soon, with 150 avatars, and completed petpages!

Jae is a quiet red Elephante, hopefully to be royal someday. I created her myself, and she is destined to become an 'angel'. Jae is very peaceful and forgiving, and would welcome Xan into the home, she knows what it is like to feel lost.

Vali is going to become a goddess. She's a psychic who sense emotions and can tell you your 'emotional future' with another person. She's treated like that of an empress, and enjoys the perks of it.

Astanye, protector of the living tree. A guardian sworn in for life, she's very secretive, and doesn't say much often. I just wonder what is so special about that tree growing down in the ice caves.

Karmine

Pronounciation: (Car-myne)
Gender: Male
Birthdate: Unknown
Species/Colour: Grey Blobagus
Misc: He is a small blobby creature, with a tendency to glow bright crimson when he becomes very emotional.
Story: Karmine being the small helpless creature he is, is very prone to getting himself into sticky situations. He had managed to wedge his small body into a ink tube, screaming 'EAT ME' to all the other creatures of the caverns. Xan heard his shrieks of terror, and swiftly came running only to find him gaping at the jaws of a spinyfish. She scared the predator away, and freed Karmine from his prison.
Overjoyed by her kindness and the affection he felt she had for him, Karmine glowed so bright Xan was able to see all the way through the long tunnel. Realizing her conviction to no longer walk these tunnels alone, she offered the little blobagus safety and a home with her. He wiggled in reply (that's a good thing right) and returned to a slightly glowing fish versus the beacon. He's fiercely loyal, and never leaves Xan's side.
