A Weakling's Guide to Kicking the Snot Out of Meuka!

One of the most rewarding experiences on this site is that of the Battle Dome. However, mastery of this is, obviously, impossible for a beginner. However, one way to show off your skill is in the Defenders of Neopia. The DoN pits you against a series of continually more powerful enemies, with much death, etc, etc.

However, when looking people up, you always see that they might have the third DoN trophy (cave chia), or the fifth (brain tree). Very rarely do they have the fourth (meuka). This is because of a simple fact; Meuka is much tougher than the Brain Tree. Meuka, in fact, is much tougher than his difficulty would imply. That's why I went to all the trouble of making this page; to help you beat Meuka. Not only does this look pretty as a trophy, but you also get an avatar! I myself beat Meuka with 35 as my highest stat, so you can too!

Alright. First things first. Unless you have amazing weapons, (and if you do, you probably wouldn't be here-- no offence!) you'll need a decent strength. For my strategy, a strength of 35† is sure to beat him, but if you feel lucky, go for it with less. I do HIGHLY RECOMMEND 35†, though, as it's guaranteed.

The equipment you'll need, along with prices are:

- Snowglobe Staff (thanks xx_roxy_diva_xx!), about 3000 np at time of writing.
- Purple Sticky Hand, a couple hundred np.
- THREE Water Muffins, 8000 np each=24000 np.* NOTE: New Icey Muffins also work, and are cheaper.
- A few healing potions that will heal you fully.

*NOTE: You can sell the other items, but you will NOT get the muffins back. Only do this if you're ready to lose them.

Alright! You're ready to go! Engage Meuka in battle, (NOTE: to get Meuka as a challenger, visit the Quick Ref page when sick) and use the Purple Sticky Hand and Snowglobe Staff. ONLY continue if the following happens:

- Purple Sticky Hand steals an item,
- Snowglobe Staff freezes. (And you still need to be alive. The Faerie Ability BURROW helps with this. It's the fourth earth faerie ability.)

There is a 1/10 chance of this happening. If it does not, go to the Status page and withdraw, heal, and try again. If you get it right, then you're set. Use a fierce attack with two water muffins to do around 60 damage to Meuka while he's frozen. Next, use the Downsize Power Plus that you stole from him, and use another Water Muffin. Use you fierce attack again, and watch him EXPLODE! Boom!

Q: Why can't I see the Sticky Hand?!

A: If it's wartime, then stealing items are temporarily disabled. Just hang on until the current plot is over.

Q: Muffins are too expensive! Help!

A: If you don't want to pay too much, then don't get the avatar. O_o Additionally, prices always inflate during a war, so if you absolutely NEED cheaper muffins, wait until between plots. The new Icey Muffins also will help keep prices fairly low.

PLEASE don't tell me prices are different. They fluctuate all the time. This is a rough estimate, not an exact cost. Besides, everything except the Muffins you can sell back anyway.

Q: My pets were sick, and I never got Meuka as a challenger!

A: To receive Meuka as a challenger, you need a specific illness. Even if you get sick, say from a poisonous jelly or the Wheel of Excitement, you may not receive Meuka. Currently, you can only get Meuka from the Sneezles or the Neoflu. Spyder Bite or Bloaty Belly do not work.
