You most likely were referred to the Admissions Page by a member of University.'s Admissions Committee. The people who make up this committee are usually advertising majors (but not always). The duty of the Admissions Committee is to project University.'s purpose, friendship, and everything it has to offer to Neopia and the GC through care and consideration.
By care and consideration, we mean through unrushed time, offering any help we can to the guildless be it advice, answers, or simply company. The guildless have minds of their own, personalities, and feelings, and our Admissions Committee also have their own minds, personalities and feelings to offer the guildless. Who can better explain our guild than the people in it? With that in mind, what can a single copy and paste message, unaccompanied with warmth and the offer of friendship, possibly offer anyone?

Our Admissions Committee is taught patience, humility, and care. We are no "used car salesmen," but people who understand everything excellent University. has to offer and wish all of the good upon others.

Accompanying the Admissions Committee's training is the information of what to expect from applications. Do not feel intimidated by our "application process." We see, as long as you feel, your excitement and ambition to join University.

Ello govna! (; You may call me Kiwi, Taylor, Taylor or...Kiwi. I have been aging like a great Swiss cheese for about 17 years now. I, like practically anyone, would like to wake up rolling in neopoints, dress in neopoints, and have neopoints to spare for lunch, but I have a variety of other goals. I've already claimed the avatars I find myself to adore, but I'm in love with the number 200. 0_0 However, my greatest goal on Neopets would have to be to write a story/series for the Neopian Times! I can't possibly write only one favorite book down because I have so many- and because I have so many I can't even think of the name of one (other than Harry Potter). It's like that weird phenomena: you know what songs you like to listen to, but when someone asks you, all you can say is "whatever is on my iPod".
I used to love Grey's Anatomy (until they ruined it), but I adore Castle and Moonlight (not a vampire fan freak, I swear. Haha. Alex O'Loughlin is just really hot. xD)
I want to double major in English and Psychology and get a career in Law as a Criminal Prosecutor. ;D

On Neopets, I am known as Dre, so whoever is reading this shall call me that =) I won't give out my age but I'll keep you guessing intstead - 0-18 years. Or, I can give a mathematical equation. Whichever one is preferred. I have one main goal on Neopets - GET THAT MARAQUAN UNI. And then the goals of earning my other dreamies, completing my balloon gallery, getting a comic into the NT and having more than four mil come closely after. Hmm, in University . I shall be doing (or will have done) the History major and maybe attempt that Economics one, as the need for this Maraquan Uni is killing me.

Favorite book, favorite book...there are lots, as I can enjoy every book I read (if I read at all). Maybe it'll have to be Harry Potter, and the good ol' Black Beauty classic is quite nice (:

TV show - well, considering my TV is hardly switched on more than three times a week, I'd say I don't have one. Maybe I should put the evening news down for this one...or maybe Spongebob. My brother likes Spongebob.
In school, I love ART. And maybe just a bit of biology. See, they sort of contradict each other, as my science teacher says: "Don't waste your time perfecting your science doodles" and art: "Take as much time as you need. We want these perfect so that we can create a display in the gallery o:" I'm good with that. Besides, I want to be a vet with *artistic talent*.
I'd be a Pirate Paint Brush on Neopets because it can be almost guaranteed that I won't find myself being abandoned, either that be at the money tree, or into Neopia's empty space or another place.
Fun fact - I think I'm going blind. Maybe that's not a 'fun' fact. OK. I ride horses and have some preettyy good balance skills. I also have a grudge against my neighbors and eat cookies for breakfast.

Goals on Neopets- I would have to say it would be to collect as many bottled faeries as possible (I love to randomly give them away to nice people I observe on the Neoboards or as thank yous to friends), to get over 2,000,000 NPs in the bank, and to FINALLY get a Pirate Paint Brush! I have wanted one for ages! But most of all, my Neopets goal is to spread as much helpfulness and kindness and random acts of love to as many people as I possibly can. Most of us have been scammed at least once before and I'm sure we all remember what it's like to be new to a guild!
Major- HELPING!! It's one of my very favorite things to do, both in real life and on Neopets!
Favorite book- Oh my gosh this question is hard. I have so many favorites! I love the Harry Potter books, of course, but I also love The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, Water for Elephants (one of the best books ever), The Secret Life of Bees, and lots and lots of plays because I'm an Acting major in real life at my REAL LIFE college!
Favorite TV show- I have only very very recently jumped on the bandwagon for The Office. I went all this time without having ever seen a single episode and have recently watched the first six seasons in like two and a half weeks. So not only did I jump on the bandwagon, I threw myself into it! I also love So You Think You Can Dance (I have done ballet for 16 years), Bones, House, and lots of other random things on TV. The only thing is that I don't really get to watch it too much because I'm always in rehearsals for plays at college!

If you could be anything in Neopets, what would you be and why?: Absolutely the Soup Faerie! She is so kind and giving and completely selfless and I try to live up to that in everything I do on Neopets!
Fun fact about you- I'm not too interesting of a person, but I guess my fun fact is that my dad is a veterinarian, so I have been around animals all my life!! Salutations! I am so glad to have the oppurtunity to apply for your guild. My name is Fawneh, and I graced this earth awhile ago. I am currently awaiting my freshman college classes in the spring of 2011 at a community college in my hometown. I will get my basic classes out of the way and then have my credits transferred when I go to a different college for my major. I want to major in two things, one being my favorite subject of all times, English, and then other major I want is Animal Behavioral Science. I really don't plan on having a minor unless it's non profit management. I have been with neopets for the last going on 7 years, and I have been active all seven years. I have reached most of my goals on neopets, and I have one left. I want a desert draik. That is the last pet I want, but until then I have been adopting pets from the pound, and zapping them for people. I have been doing this for the last couple of months, so I believe that I would be good in the Helping Major in the University. I would love to just keep adopting pets, zapping them until they are a painted color and then adopting them out to owners who wish to reach a dreamie.
As for books, I love fantasy novels. Anything to do with fiction is my type of book. To be able to escape this cold hard world is something I have always dreamed of. And to be able to escape into a book, where reality is bent and has no rules is the closest thing I will get to it. I particularly love the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. If you haven't guess, I am a rather huge animal lover. Cats especially, for I have five of my own. As far as TV shows go, I am going to have to say Bones is my favorite now adays. But closely behind that has to be The Secret Life of the American Teenager. I don't watch alot of tv though because I have a very busy life sometimes, and we don't have cable either. We get some channels, but otherwise I find myself studying, working for the local animal shelter or being on the computer.
My favorite school subject is, of course, English. I took the Standard Test for my State, and scored in the 97% of my state, by missing only three questions on my test. However, I must say, when it comes to Mathematics, I honestly can say that brick might be smarter than me. English seems to be my passion, and favorite class over all. Coming up next to it would be Theatre. I am a honorary thepsian of International Thespian Society.
If I could be anything in neopets, I would be a Desert Draik. I think they are the most beautiful creatures on neopets. I would even be happy being a Desert Draik Plushie. I just love the idea of being able to fly across the desert and looks so fabulous doing it.
I think the funest fact about me is that I have a sometimes morbid sense of humor. I love to make people laugh.
Sometimes I can be really silly, but I also can be really serious. I never like to start fights, but I do know how to finish them. I will stand up for the under dog, and do what I believe is right. I don't tolerate people treating others badly. It's just not right at all, and I will not stand for it. Every one was created equal, and we should keep it that way.
My activeness is not going to be a problem. I am usually on neopets every single day, and that isn't a exaggeration. I will let you know if I will be out for more then a few days at a time, if I take ill, which happens alot because I have a very weak immune system (please don't ask, I don't like to talk about it.), or if I am on vacation. If there is a emergency at our local humane society, I will tend to be out for a few days to help with the emergency. (For example, if we have another Parvo outbreak).
The fourth rule of the guild seems to be one of the most important to me. If you do not make new people feel welcomed, do you actually think they will want to stay? Being friendly and helping out the new people of the guild is very important. If you just ignore them, then they might think you do not want them there, and in turn they might leave. And that isn't fun now is it? I think not. So always make new members feel welcomed to the guild, even if they are confused and new at it, eventually they will get the hang of it and they won't be so new, and in turn can help others.

Hello! My name is Amanda, but in the Neo-world I go by Kat or Manni, or really anything else you can think up. I had made a board yesterday, and lovely Miss Milk stopped by with an offer I couldn't refuse-- applying into your guild. I'm a nineteen year old college student with a lot of free time on her hands, and I tend to be very, very long winded haha. Currently my goals aren't too far fetched on Neopets. I'm hoping to get the draik I'm applying for, which would take up my last open space on my accounts. (If curious, my app is at /~Zauxoi) Then would come the saving, two royal paint brushes aren't going to poof in my inventory! Why two? Well, if I adopt said Draik, I want the royal boy necklace and royal girl tail rings and wrist bands. Of course I always have a plan B in these sort of situations. If I don't get the pleasure of adopting Asra, I'll just save for my own pirate draik egg. 16mill isn't too bad.
I do have other goals as well. Mainly petpet goals then paint the petpets which will hopefully keep me busy for a while. And, of course, getting my friend Casey a royal paint brush and helping my other great friend Liz save for her Krawk. But my non neopoint related goals, to me, are much more important. I have designs to draw, pages to start up or complete, stories to write, and neo-related contests to win.
Now, which Major would be best for me? Well this is my side account (My main is Punkkitten468) so you can't really tell, unless looking at my main, that I have done a bit of avatar collecting. My number is 247, and I'm hoping to reach 250 soon. I considered going after that as my Major, but realized that it wouldn't be as big of a challenge for me.
Helping looked fun, I tend to find pets from the pound, paint them an expensive color and adopt out. But that shouldn't really be my Major, because I would do this continuously with or without being in the University. It came down to the last two that fit me best (In my eyes), Design and Writing. I'm pretty good at coding simple guild layouts, and I have Photoshop CS4 so I have the capability of making some cool banners and what have you. I can code petpages and do image maps (Though who can't? There's a help site I use haha), I can animate banners and draw sceneries (Other things too, but I doubt you'd want a dog to the left of the layout haha). I am also planning on majoring in College with Digital design and Web design, so it seemed perfect for me.
But I love writing, and I do plan on submitting both a short story and a few comics to the NT. I role play constantly, it's actually one of my many passions, and would love to join in on the role play festivities. It was a really, really tough decision for me, but even though I have many strengths in the Digital area, I would rather Major in writing. I need improvement there, and this will help me push myself to reach my goals. I would still be more than willing to help with banners though, if you wanted. (:
I don't really have a favorite book par se, but I do love to read. I'm more into fantasy or lawyer/criminal books. John Grisham is one of my favorite law writers, I never seem able to put his books down. I always need to know what happens next.
Okay, Hobbies, haha. I love to draw in my free time. I mainly draw canines, felines and dragons, but every once and a while I do little cartoon doodles of round blob cats or fat whales with top hats, or fat cows. I'm a digital artist, so it always looks better than my paper crud.
I love to swim, in High School I was a Varsity swimmer, mainly in charge of the five hundreds (Twenty lap race) or the Butterfly hundreds (Four laps). I love to draw with chalk when I'm watching the little girls from across the street or when I'm with my best friend and we're doodling cartoons in the park, haha. Neopets is definitely a hobby of mine, more like a passion, because obsession it too intense and doesn't seem to fit right. And, lastly, cooking. I love to cook, and originally was going to major in culinary arts in college, but decided Web Design would be the best course of action. I'm no Bobby Flay.
Now for the 'this or that' section. Pancakes or waffles? Waffles. I can't really have syrup (I have many different health issues, my stomach is far too sensitive for syrup) so pancakes are out of the question. I eat blueberry waffles that are toasted till their burnt slightly and dab on some fake butter. It totally works for me. Chocolate or Vanilla? Neither, if talking ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant, haha.
McDonalds or Burger King? McDonalds. Burger King is the worst fast food you could ever consume, even worse than McDonalds. Their food is much more greasy and fatty-- I'd eat a McDonalds cheese burger any day over a Burger King one. Laptop or Desktop? Laptop. I'm actually on one! Haha. Even though my mom's desktop is where my tablet and PS is, it's far too slow for my taste. I love the mobility of my laptop. Fiction or Non fiction? Fiction. Like I said before, I love fantasy related books. Though I do not like sparkle-friendly Vampires.

1. Remain literate on the guild message board.lol, GC (Neoboard abbreviation for Guild Chat board), and RL (real life)" are the only chatspeak acceptable on the message board. They are to be used sparingly, please.

2. Respect others and they will respect you. Do not start fights, call others names, etc. It is rude and you will be dismissed from the guild if harassment is witnessed. There are real people behind these pixels! :(

3. Don't spam! Leave it in the can. This includes one sentence posts, one worded posts, and generally posts with no meaning to any conversation.

4. Make welcoming members your first priority. If a New-Ops participant interrupts a conversation you are having to introduce himself/herself, try to engage the new member in conversation as well rather than hold two seperate conversations.

5. Enable guild mailings in user preferences.

6. Keep integrity. With guild games or wars: do not conspire with your team and give answers away to help your cause, and please do not give away the guild website to New-Ops participants until they have ranked up.

Maturity and literacy cannot be solely judged on user statistics, but they can help your application if you have solid statistics.

Generally, members of University. have stats similar to the following:

» At least 1-2 trophies
» At least 1-2 limited/painted pets
» At least 100 avatars
» Played at least 100 games
» Been on Neopets for at least 6 months

If applicants who have weak, uncared for userlookups and stats on top of a relatively poor application, the applicant is judged to be immature and ambitious only to sponge off of what the guild offers its members. The applicant is rejected.

The characteristics above can only help you when you have a stellar application. If you do not fit the characteristics above, just make sure that your application reveals your real, mature, literate, fun self. Of course, the bottom line is that an amazing collection of stats will do nothing for absolutely horrid applications and is not support for you to slack off.
(TIP: Truly exceptional applications are rewarded with an immediate spot on the Advertising Committee, and free minors in Advertising and writing!)

That depends entirely upon you. Generally, if one of the Admissions Committee contacts you, there is a great probability that you will be accepted. However, everyone makes mistakes and don't let that "probability" go to your head. If when the advertiser sticks around and decides that you aren't as literate as they thought that you were, you'll have to work twice as hard on your application to show that you are what he/she originally thought you were.

When you've come this far, why stop now? What is an extra five to ten minutes from your day for the chance of being accepted into the guild of your dreams? We like all of our dorm's names and the odds of you not liking them are less than five percent. You may prefer one name over the other, but we guarentee that you will be happy in the dorm assigned to you because it fits your personality and major much more than the others do. Don't let something as little as a preference of name reject a whole group of people most similar to you. (:
