best friends who decided it was time to make a guild together;
Sosu and
Lau. (: Unfortunately, Lau had to step down from council and leave the guild on 02/09/2013 due being so busy with school and RL. However, she'll always remain as one of the guild founder!
Wistful is a
private and
chat-based guild that aims to provide you with a
tight-knit family of friends and a drama-free environment. We have a very
cheery atmosphere that will guarantee you peace, relaxation, and contentment. You may find us saying this multiple times, but we want you to know that this guild was
entirely made for you, so you can have fun, make friends and have a good time with us! Whatever it is you do on site, we're sure you'll find your place with us in the guild. We're really excited to be on our feet at last and provide the Neopian community with a guild such as ours. Wistful is the
very first guild that offers
custom graphics as prizes.
We try to make it noticed that Wistful is a particularly
unique guild. We're always trying to offer you things you can
get involved with, activities you can participate in, and also provide an active, friendly guild board where you, besides making new friends, will be able to follow great, entertaining conversations, and get to know all the members.
We noticed that most of the current guilds strive to help each other improve their accounts. We think that's a great way to
get involved with something as well as to get to know more people. However, we want to offer you
something else, because at some point when you finally achieve what you always aimed for, you won't have anything else to do. We're
supportive of our members in all endeavors, both on and off the site. We hope you can have fun in all of those aspects, from working towards a goal to chatting on the guild board!
Another thing to take note of is that the guild will remain
private. Why? We want to keep all the guild pages and whatnot as
exclusive as possible. We
don't want people who will simply join the guild to get our ideas, steal them, and even use them for their own guilds. It has happened to us a few times in the past, so we want to avoid these issues as much as possible.
Being private means that you'll be apart of an exquisite guild that not all people can be part of. We do want to succeed, but it doesn't mean we have to have 100+ members, that's why we won't be recruiting many people every day. We look at quality over quantity to suit the interest of our members!
Let's move onto what we're seeking
for the guild. We have already mentioned everything about our plans with the guild, as well as what we're expecting from it. We strive to grow and aim to become the kind of guild where every single member can feel like it's a 2nd home for them. When we say home, we mean a place you can come to everyday to have a
supportive and cheerful group of people you can talk to, and even call your own family. Isn't it fantastic to know that you can count on another person when you need a helping hand, or a place that, whenever you need help with something, you can go and ask for it? Indeed it is!
The guild is based on what guilds used to be a few years ago, which is why we kept the old guild style. Things such as finding the basic guild pages filled with activities, a website, avatar lending and so on and so forth. We will also be
bring original pages and fun events where you can get involved with the guild. We think that guilds were, are, and will always be based on
how you treat your members and how much importance you give to them. That's why we want to keep you busy when doing activities, to encourage you to improve your account and any other aid that will certainly help you in the end.
As we previously said, you'll have the opportunity to meet
lots of friends and
participate in fun activities! If you're wondering about our theme, we are an established
semi-literate, NR guild that will offer an unusual and
original way of enjoying guilds. We're long-term and loyal Neo-players that know the site can be a little bit boring sometimes, so we hope that
you can find something to do or to work on while you are with us at
Wistful.
The guild may cause irregular sleeping patterns, grumpiness, awesomeness, sadness, happiness, and sometimes craziness. Oh and by the way, we do have cookies.
We are not too much strict on grammar. We don't mind too much about perfect spelling, but it is vital that we understand what you are talking about, so please make sure that your grammar and punctuation are clear and understandable. Just be yourself when writing but try to do it in the way everybody can understand you (:
RESPECT the other members. If you cannot respect the opinions of others, we ask that you please do not join.
The ideas and topics that are discussed in the guild ARE from and for the guild. Do not pretend to join to steal ideas and give them to another guild. We ask that you do not copy anything found here. All content and graphics were made by us for Wistful ONLY, not for someone to copy.
No spamming. If you want to be part of our guild board, try to follow the current conversation. We don't want to generate a lot of spam so try not to! Try to write everything you want in one message and not several at once. This will help us to keep our guild board as clean and understandable as possible.
Do not ignore anyone purposely. We know that our board can be very active and it might be difficult to follow it sometimes. If at some point you feel you were ignored, first consider if the person did it on purpose or not. If you believe they did, don't hesitate to Neomail one of the council members.
No scamming. Yes, we know it is silly to ask, but please do not join the guild just to rip off someone. We are very wary of providing something so be careful.
If you have any problems with another member and/or council, try to fix it via Neomail. Do not try to add issues to the guild, because it has nothing to do with it as a whole.
We certainly accept side accounts. Though sides always get swept faster than main accounts, we only ask that if you're going to join from a side, please be as active as possible. On the other hand, if you occasionally get silenced, you'll be able to join the guild from your side as well. I'll be neomailing side accounts if I find them inactive in the guild and after a warning I'll delete them from the guild if you haven't been as active as we were asking you to be. By joining the guild you're agreed with this and there's no exceptions.
Do not try to join the guild so you can be lent avatar items or other such things. We support, and will support, all members as a guild, please refrain from scrounging from the members. That is, if you're participating in a contest, do not join the guild just to get votes and then you leave. If it happens, you will be banned.
Literacy: The guild is semi-literate. We know that you will slip some grammar mistakes from time to time, and there might also be members whose English is not their native language. They will make those mistakes, but that doesn't mean they won't be understood. When we say "semi", we mean we're fine with using some chat-speak, phrases such as the common lol, brb, btw, omg, etc. Remember to use a readable and decent-looking font, as well as keeping your acronyms to minimal use. We do not accept people who talk "l1k3 d15".
Points System: Wistful is based on activities and activeness. We have implemented a points system where you can get points by doing our guild activities. We also offer different ways to get them and each one varies according to what you must do. Activities such as inviting new members, winning member of the month, hosting pages, etc. are some ideas. The points never expire so do not be afraid about that. With all the points you earn, you can use them to win prizes(we talked about this on our website, so you can also learn more when you join).
Guild Updating: Fortunately, the guild is constantly updated. All the council is active and willing to help whenever you need it. Each one focuses on something particular so you will always find our pages, activities and latest news updated in time.
Member Sweeps and Activeness: As we did in our newbie guide, which you read when you join the guild, we explain what the member sweeps and activeness rules are all about. We really focus on how active the members are. Keep in mind that we do not force anyone to stay, but if you really want to be part of the guild, you have to be as active as you can and not miss out on the fun!
There will be reasons/problems that do not allow you to be as active, but we respect that! If anything occurs in real life, be sure to Neomail a council member and tell us why you can't participate much in the guild and we will take note of it. We understand that everyone has a life, so that's not the reason why you will get deleted. We are not so bad, we just want to give everyone a chance to join. ;) The member sweeps are done to keep the guild as active and exclusive as possible.
Q: Why did you choose Wistful as the guild name?A: It wasn't easy to find the perfect guild name, but Wistful had a sort of simplicity we liked about it and it was a name we agreed would be fitting. Choosing the guild name is by far the hardest step when making guilds. We all tried to brainstorm different and random words, and Wistful pop up. We hope you like it as much as we do!
Q: What things are you expecting for the guild?A: We want to create a place where, whenever you need someone to talk to, you can! We want our members to have fun while feeling at home. We are always willing to help! Once you join the guild, it'll be like your second home. We pledge ourselves to put as much effort and love into it as we can. You're the reason why this guild was created, and we'll try to bring what you were looking for in a guild.
Q: If I have a problem with any member, what should I do?A: Neomail a council member and we will handle it. Also, if you see someone spamming the boards or bothering other members, you can let us know about that as well. All Neomails will remain anonymous.
Q: Do you have a member cap?A: Even though we don't say anything about a member cap or how many members the guild will accept, we will try to keep the guild at a reasonable amount of members. We will recruit members often, but also try to make people interested, which is sometimes hard nowadays. In one week, we can be 40 members, then next week, you'll find less or more members.
Q: Do you have member sweeps?A: What we want from members is activeness. It doesn't make sense when someone will join the guild and then they are completely silent the next day. We don't plan to just send out invites to as many people as we can. Our goal is to get to know you and make you know we really want you in the guild! Sometimes, things don't work, and maybe we'll have to clean the members list. We'll delete those people who maybe never posted on the guild board, people who hardly do nothing, etc.
Like most guilds, we have different
ranks we created. The requirements that you must meet to move up a rank are found below. If you think we should change your current rank and we still have not done so, please have patience! We update them daily. :) We know that sometimes
the guild becomes too chatty and active and it would be way easy to rank up from time to time, that's why we decided to also incorporate
more requirements in order to get a new rank. As the guild is an
activities based one, we thought it'd be much convinient if you add a
specific amount of points for each rank as well as
guild experience. You
must meet the three requirements in order to rank up!
You don't have to worry about being ranked up, as Sosu will
always neomail you when you do! Remember that you'll earn
500 points every time you get up to your next rank, just a way to motivate you to keep being active and
acknowledge you for being so active and chatty! (:
When you join Wistful, you'll be
Wishing you could have joined sooner. With all the lovely people around, the atmosphere's friendly and sophisticated. Since you're new, why don't you familiarize yourself with the rules, all the activities, and most importantly, the people. Being here at Wistful means you're part of one big family, and that means getting to know one another. Introduce yourself, jump into the conversation. We don't bite *wink* Unless you're a marshmallow. Then you'd better watch out.
So you've been around a while, and you've gotten used to everything. Or have you? After you've made
150 posts/500 points/1 week, you might suddenly have the
Desire to delve deeper into Wistful's community. Just as the world is vast, Wistful's members hails from all walks of life, from all timezones. It's been spoken of only in rumours. No one knows yet if it is true, but legends are always based upon truth. What is it you ask? Well it's the famed
7,500 posts/26,000 points/3 months! It's said that one who achieves this will have endless
Insight and bountiful honour. But remember, with great power comes great responisbility.
You have to meet all the requirements to be ranked uo. That is, those three requirements you see are the ones you have to meet. Being active and involved with activities are the things we're looking for in each member!

the council. We are the people who try to make Wistful a bit better everyday, so we thought it to be a good idea if we made a section about ourselves to let you
know us a little more!
If you'd like to host any kind of activity page, event, service or anything else, feel free to do so! It would help both the guild and the members. We're always welcoming and encouraging our members to do/run something if they want to. Being a council member doesn't mean we have to take charge of everything;
we love seeing our members taking some time to work on something that will help the guild. We're very grateful, and we'll always appreciate it!
Even though we're not looking for more co-owners, we'll need all members' help at some point. There can be members whom are on the guild all day long, for instance, and we will give them the opportunity to supervise our guild board, deleting spam messages, and other such tasks. There's always going to be
something for you to do. Don't worry! We only ask you to
always Neomail us first before taking charge of doing anything.
During last month, on January 2013, we started a subcouncil search due the fact Sosu went on a tirip for a week. He was in need of people that were
willing to help him out when he was away, as he didn't have much time to get on the guild. This is how our
subcouncil was born. Below you'll find all the awesome members who are now in this council, helping me to keep everything updated and drama-free. All of them have different and specific tasks!

The
guild mailers or guild mailing, whichever you prefer, is that neomail we send to all the members. We use them to
talk about the latest guild news or just to warn you about the things that we're going to do at the guild. It's such a good way to keep all the members informed.

HAPPY FOUR MONTHS GUYS! /blows confetti Another month we've spent together :*
Are you as happy as I am now? I'm so glad I could get to know all of you and hopefully we're going after more months now! (: As usual, I made a simple but yet meaningful small event to celebrate it. The theme of this celebration is CHOCOLATE *noms* So make sure to use some brown-ish colours in your font throughout the day. (;
Check the guild home for a surprise. YES! There are new badges. Want to know some hints? People say you can earn them by winning any of our guild trades (/island/tradingpost.phtml?type=browse&criteria=owner&search_string=wistfulguild) as well as by sending Sosu chocolate items! Stay around the guild during the day and make sure to reply this neomail with a Chocolate Image you can find around Neopets so I can make sure you indeed participated. :*
Remember this event will only last till Wednesday 1st - Midnight. I apologise beforehand if you guys can't make it but I hate the guild's birthday are always on a weekdays and as I didn't have much time to plan a good one, this will only last a day. Hopefully the new ones to come will last a weekend or longer. Hope you all understand! (:
The "my stats" part in the premade trophy cabinet was meant to help you. As of May 2013, you will all start from zero in everything. From how many guild mailers you replied to all the graphics you made. The only thing that you'll keep are of course the messages you post in the guild, the nps you donated, etc. CHECK every single badge, take sometime to read all over the description and you'll then realize why you need to keep a track of your stats.
Reply to 5 guild mailers" is one of the badges. Then if you don't keep a track, how would you know if you're able to get it? It's easy peasy really. This will help you a lot guys, believe me (: I apologise if the premade petpage is way too odd and ugly, but remember you can edit and customize them and even when you request a petpage you can ask one for your trophy cabinet specially.
Now what I want to ask you is this. Neomail me in which petpage you're going to host your cabinet so I can finally start adding them to the Member Directory (/~WistfulMDirectory). See now why I left that space in that petpage?
Hope you guys feel more motivated now as I'm always trying to offer you something to do in the guild! I may finish the other guild pages now, as this one was the hardest to work on. :*

HI GUYS! Hope you all are having a great sunday (: I'm sending this guild mailer to let you all know that the Guild Badges Page is finally done. (www.neopets.com/~WistfulBadges) - ENJOY ! I know it took me forever but now you can see why it did (: I'm open to all the questions you may have regarding them.
We have also got a new and really fancy layout. I'm planning on making the guild public just for today; I want to get new members as making the guild public would work the best for me. I know most of you don't like this but it's going to last a few hours, then we go private again. :* I'm trying to bring the guild all the things you're always asking for. After making the current guild poll I realized a few things and hopefully, with the new badges and people joining the guild, the guild will get more things you can do at it as well as activeness.
Hope you all like the page. I may remake the layout later as I don't like it that much but it was worth a try. Hope you all enjoy this and I know you are all excited (: My neomails are open for any questions about your trophy cabinet.

Hi Wisties! Hope you all have an amazing week! This is another and still long neomail I wanted to send you all and for a better organization I put on a petpage. (: Remember to ALWAYS reply my neomails when you get them so I make sure you got it. Any smiley, random quote, ANYTHING is valid as an answer!
Sosu's going on a trip: That's right guys, I'll be away from Sunday 12 to 16. I so need a break from both neopets and work/college so I don't know if I will be logging in here. If I know myself I know I probably will as I'll be also bringing my laptop but I'm not sure if the hotel has wifi. I thought I'd let you know just in case you don't see me around the guild too often. I already prepared 2 guild layouts for that guild so I'll make sure to change them during the days I'm gone!
- Guild Activities: (/~WistfulActivities) - For those who didn't know, last month I extended the deadline for the activities so you all have time till May 31 to participate in them before I add new ones. Make sure you sign up for the Member Directory (/~WistfulMDirectory) so all the points you earn can count (:
- Guild Lendings: (/~WistfulLendings) - The new Avatar Lending page is finally done guys. Go and sign up for the current lending chains which are going to start in June. We are only going to lend 15 people each month just to be more organized and I want to avoid any kind of problem regarding time. I know that if you're busy now-a-days, it could take you 1 or 2 days to accept the pet so when these things happen, the chain gets all messy.
- Guild Dreams Pets: (/~Conei) - The page has been moved!
- Guild Portal: (/~WistfulPortal) - All links were updated
- Members Page: (/~WistfulMembers) - This page has such a useful guild map that will guide you through all the pages the guild has and what you can find when visiting them!
- Guild Account, Gallery and Shop: The guild account is wistfulguild. We do have a shop in which people can donate whenever. It's not mantadory and I am not in ANY WAY forcing you to do it. On the other hand, the gallery has all the items that will be soon auctioned + avatar items!
- Guild Badges: (/~WistfulBadges) - Our newest and most wanted feature is finally here guys. Start collecting badges here at the guild! They are basically just like avatars, you can earn them by doing different things. EVERYBODY can do this but it's not mandatory. Anything in the guild is mandatory so don't worry about that. This is just another way to keep you busy and entertained when being in the guild. Remember to neomail me the page in which you're going to host your trophy cabinet so I can add it to the Member Directory!
*** IMPORTANT: I know guys you're wondering about the red badges which are basically badges earned in our previous guild event. You know how organized I am that I have notes of people who have participated in ALL the previous events, from those who offered in the trades to the ones who sent plushies in the "plushie war" and everything like that. I'll be sending a neomail about this within the next few days so you make sure you can grab your badges.
- Guild Wishing Well + Account Improvement: Two new pages and features will be taking part in the guild next month guys. STAY TUNED as usual (; Whether you want to make someone happy by granting their wishes or just work towards your account goals, I'm sure you're so going to enjoy these new things I'll be soon adding to the guild. - Guild Mailers: Probably all the new members don't know but I'm ALWAYS sending neomails to all my lovely Wisties. Whether I want to tell you the latest news about the guild or all the things I'm currently working on, you will be always told what is going on the guild. I want to keep you up-to-date with guild stuff as often as possible. It may be tedious, yes, but I think guilds work better when every single member, from the most active to the inactive ones, knows what is going on in the place they love going to. All guild mailers will be ALWAYS added to the website (/~WistfulWebsite#mailers) if you happen to miss them. Guild mailers DO NOT show notifications when they are sent so you just ought to check your inbox every now and then.
- New Members: www.neopets.com/~Gapen - The welcoming neomail is still here if you want to read it. I know the guild has too many things it makes you feel overwhelmed haha but don't panic, you'll see how in a few days/weeks you'll be loving it. Wistful is my main priority in both neopets and rl so I spend all my spare time to keep this guild as active, supportive and friendly as possible, avoiding any kind of drama. I want to make sure you guys don't feel forced to do anything you don't want. NO, I am not going to kick you out if you don't do the activities. NO, I am not going to remove you from the guild if you are inactive due school/work. Real life comes first, so does school. I work part time and attend to college, and I even work for SunnyNeo and have my own site here at neopets, so I know how hectic your days can be and how crazy they can drive you.
This is just my humble opinion, now it's your turn to try your best and get involved with the guild and the guild board. Meeting new people who may end up being you best/closest friends in a few months is the most amazing experience.

The guild mailers will be placed from oldest to newest. That is, to find the latest guild mailer that was sent out, you have to scroll down and read the last one added!
Wistful is well known for its activeness all around the guild. We focus on keeping our members busy with our activities while they have fun doing them. We have such a wide variety of games and activities you would love to participate in. On the other hand, we have a point system. This system is applied in all activities and games and you'll be able to earn points from them. Basically you participate and do activities and earn points in return. We believe this is a good way to keep the members motivated!
We've noticed since the guild was first opened that we could collect friendly and supportive members from all over the world. I think this is what we can highlight in the guild: our members. They are unique in their own ways, from those awesome interestes they have to how hype they get when chatting in the guild. We are a tight-knit family. I can assure you'll feel at home when being part of the guild. There is no member whom thinks differently. No one has ever been ignored or felt out when being in the guild and everybody is so welcoming when new faces pop up in the board. We can chat about everything, from school/work to disney movies, and still being so friendly and cheerful to each other.
As a guild leader, I always try to keep the guild be as active as possible. I do believe members' activeness is what keeps a guild alive and makes it established. Without members being active, the guild wouldn't success. I can happily say Wistful is an active guild. It's active in all the ways, from members doing the activities to enjoying our fluent conversations in the message board. We always try to recruit members from all over the world so you'll always find someone to talk to at any time. Fortunately we could manage to keep the board always active and members seem to love that; they are so talkative at times.
Did you know the guild is updated daily, 24/7? I'm sure you're surprised now! Sosu works so hard to keep the guild as updated as possible. You'll find him updating the guild n-blocked-, always. I, as the guild leader, my task is to keep the guild going on and verify if everything's up-to-date. Otherwise there is no point in joining a guild in which the council is not active enough to keep it alive. That's the key of successful, keeping a guild updated the majority of the time.
I believe that a successful guild should have high-quality graphics. We all know that making graphics is such a tough pass time and you need a lot of practices to be considered artistically good at it. I have been making graphics for ages and I do consider myself a good graphic maker. Besides I make graphics real quick, I'm always thinking of the guild look, that's why you'll find me making graphics all the time, specially when switching guild layouts. I noticed after years of being in different guilds that when a new guild layout is made, members usually are more motivated and chatty in the guild. Don't ask me why, but it usually happens. :P
For those avid avatar collectors, I'm happy to tell you that the guild is somewhat oriented towards avatars. We do have an avatar lending in which we can lend almost all avatar pets and petpets as well as avatar items such as zdap, icy snowflake, etc. We would love to lend every single item but you know, they are way expensive for us to afford. In the meantime you can just enjoy getting lent the ones we currently lend and hopefully you'll get the avatars you always wanted!
I think one of the things that make Wistful special is that we offer something for every single person. I'm always trying to come up with good ideas and activities so everybody has something to do. If you love working towards your account goals, you'll be able to participate in our account improvement page; if you love customizing, you can participate in our activities that involves customizing your pets. We even have a wishing well in which we listed all members' wishlists and dream pets so you can randomly gift something and make your guildies happy!

It's always hard to describe how a guild really is, specially when I'm the guild owner. I always say such great things about Wistful as well as the members. That's basically what I expect.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to know when a member enjoys the guild. Wistful's members are always complimenting and
acknowledging about all the things I do.
