~:Rough Looking:~
The sky was beginning to darken but it wasn't quite dusk yet as you walked the streets of Neopia Central looking quite pleased with yourself for scoring a cloud Gelert morphing potion at a discount price. As you gazed at your prize with the promising result of what it would bring in mind you paid little attention to where you were going, watching the clouds churn in the azure liquid inside the glass bottle capped with a lid in the shape and color of a cloud Gelert's cranium and ears. The potion's clouds churned in your own mind as well, seeing the result over and over again of the prize in store for you. You had been trying for this for a long time and now it was yours. Your long-desired fantasy within an arm's reach, so close, so close...However, you were snapped out of your thoughts by an angry yowl. Looking up from the bottle and down to your feet, you saw what had startled you so. It was a very dark red Aisha with lighter red Tabby stripes and without a collar or eye-rings. Speaking of eyes, his were rather creepy being a practically black purple with an eerie, white pupil and a ghostly, nearly white purple ring around the circle-shaped pupil. Realizing you were stepping on his tail, you pulled your foot off of it and proceeded to ask him if he was alright. The Aisha nodded.
Yeah, I'm okay. You live around here or something? Its a long ways from the Marketplace, if that's where you got that morphing potion from," he inquired while positioning himself on a pile of broke-down wooden crates leaning messily against a cold, brick wall. You seemed confused for a moment before looking around, growing frantic with each passing second.
What?! Where am I?!" you gasped, still looking around the dark, tall alleyway you were in. Hearing meow-like laughter, you turned your attention to the Aisha who seemed to be chuckling at you.
Its NOT funny!"
Haha! I thought you looked a little dreamy! Too busy gazing at that potion to pay attention and you got yourself lost! Well, anyway, welcome to the Alleyway Back roads! Best traveled during the day, though. It can get pretty messy around here at night."
Both you and the catlike neopet looked up through the urban canyon and saw the sky beginning to turn orange.
Drat! I'll never make it out before dark!" you frustratedly exclaimed while hanging your head in defeat.
You give up too easily. I can get you out in hardly any time at all," the Aisha replied, apparently humored by you.
Really? You can?" you ask, lifting your gaze to him in astonishment.
You bet! I live around here. Come on, I'll show you the way out, umm...what was your name?" he replied as he stood up onto all fours.
Oh, I'm guest. Thank you so much, Mr...um...Yeah, I think I'll need yours too."
With mild amusement, the Aisha studied you a moment before leaping onto the hard ground and replying as he returned his gaze to you, "Whiteareh."

I never asked for this...why would anyone ask for this? It's always in the back of my mind.
Run...
I can't stand it.
Run, now, or I will be found...
I don't want it to rule me...
The predators are gaining...
...but it does.
...They're here.
Every night predators are stalking me. Its like I'm their prey. I don't know how I know or why I think so...but its so intence, the feeling I get.
Do you believe in vampires?"
No...Why? Should I?
I honestly don't believe anything's out to get me. Its paranoia to think like that.
..........Yes.
Though I have a secret...but thats as much of it as you'll hear...from me.

Rin was a good Aisha and a traveler. He never coupled, but he was kind, even if he was a little jumpy and not good with insects. During the day, he was known by his neighbors, wherever he went, as someone who liked to help others and, though shy, was good with others and never made any enemies or did things that would be viewed as immoral like drinking or harming another. Every night, however, Rin would disappear. Some say that it was so that he wouldn't have to bear the pain of saying goodbye to his friends before he traveled away, always writing them goodbye notes instead. However, one night when he went away, he was never seen again. There had been more bats lately than usual, but Rin had been ignorant. Many believe he was killed by vampires, but more and more are resorting to a happier theory: that he found a place suitable for him and simply lived there until he died of old age. However, there is one problem with that theory. He never made it out of the forest. A friend was waiting for him at the edge for days, but when he never showed up, Rin's friend gave up and presumed him for dead. No one to this day knows for sure what became of him... -Inconclusive Inquiries of Bloody Fangs, page 162, paragraph 3, The Story of Rin
We have found what we first thought to be a rich blood supply. Though correct in thinking so, we were wrong about the source. The smell of so much blood was unmistakable, even from the distance we were, but it turned out to be an Aisha smothered in blood and even leaving paw prints of the red liquid. We captured it and were amazed to find that the creature's red blood cell count exploded every night and that so much blood was produced that it even soaked the thing's fur from its pores! The most logical name I can give this creature is the HemoAisha, so I have named it so. This may be the only one, but there could be others. Hunters of the HemoAisha are encouraged to hunt at night for more than simply that its a more comfortable time than day, but also because its easy to detect the HemoAisha at night because of all its blood, but durring the day, all the spilled blood disapears, not leaving any sort of trace. So, it is considerably easier to hunt durring the night. -The Journal of Explorer Jaun Sacain, entry 254, paragraph 1
There is a kind of red Aisha known as the "HemoAisha". It is a magnificent creature and a cure for starvation. Every night, the Aisha, no bigger than one might call a "house cat", produces blood far faster and in greater amounts than it can keep inside it. Blood seeps through every pore in its body and is quickly a living blood cell! Be warned, however, for the blood from this creature is so addicting that it can cause a vampire to drain and completely absorb the entire HemoAisha! Blood must be taken in small amounts for safety reasons. -Discoveries Solving Everyday Problems and Catastrophes, chapter 2: food problems, page 48, paragraph 5, Legendary Dishes: HemoAisha
~:Encountering Surprises:~
Sometimes, I go for walks, straying away from my home in Neopia Central. I just walk to nowhere in particular and thats exactly where I usually end up. On one such traverse, I had walked for months and had ended up in a clear-azure-skied, hill-filled, sweeping landscape with yellowed grass and a single, strong, stout tree that seemed to be a cross between a willow and an oak because of its knots and sweeping, willow branches. Beside it was a small stone --which was scarce in the fields-- and a fresh, flourishing fern. On the opposate side of the tree was a small pool of fresh, crisp, clear, clean, cool water. At first, I thought this it be a mirage, but when I dipped my togune in the pool to drink from it, I found that it was real. I drank it thurstilly for a long time until I was full from it. It was the morning hours and I had been traveling for a very long time. So, I curled up under one of the uprooted roots of the tree and under the large, protecteve leaves of the fern and instantly fell asleep.
The next thing that happened I was not expecting. I woke up having felt a nudge. At first, my vision was blurry and I couldn't make anything out very well. When my perception cleared, I found that I was no longer alone. A white Zafara with charcoal spots on his ears, red eyes, a red tail-end and a black bracelet with a fang dipped in long-dried blood hanging off of it was standing there, looking at me. He was the one who had awakened me. I yawned and stretched before climbing out from my bit of undergrowth. The first think I asked him was who he was, but I disgarded that almost instantly. To my horror, I looked to the sky and saw that the sun was setting and I knew that as soon as the sun set, I was begin to bleed, like every night.
I've slept too long!" I said under my breath. my gaze darted back to the white one.
Thank you for waking me, but I've got to leave now," I told him, hoping he'd just let me leave without another passing thought.
In a hurry? Who would have anything at all to do out here?" The setting sun shone through the leaves and danced upon the Zafara's skin. The Zafara looked at me with a cold glance that somehow seemed to be a bit concerned. The Zafara looked to the sun and back to me.
Drat! I wasn't going to get away so easily...Thats when it came to me. It was true, but it also worked as an escape hatch.
There's not really anything to do out here, true, but that's why I'm leaving. I'm sort of a traveler and the tree was where I had stopped to rest. My real home is in Neopia Central. I like it there, but sometimes I just find myself traveling. Like if I just go for a walk to nowhere in particular, that's exactly where I end up," I replied, "So, are you a traveler too, or are you just away from home? Its getting late and you don't want anyone worrying about you, right?"
I thought that'd work...but it turned out to be a conversation-starter...
A traveler? Well, I suppose that I am most of the time. I have a place to stay when I have no food, or if I get tired. But I wouldn't call it a home. As for staying out, I happen to love the night, and no one misses me-" the Zafara stopped suddenly, but then resumed. "Y-yeah. No one misses me." He looked me in the eye, and said, "I'm Touzo, and who would you be?"
Great! Now he wanted to know my name..Oh well. He seemed like a nice person.
Touzo? I like that name," I replied with a welcome smile, "My name is Whiteareh, but I'd perfer it if you called be Areh, seeing as I'm not white." My face turned concerned a bit then I proceded to ask, "Is something wrong? You stutered earlier."
What? Can't just turn someone away...
Hm? Oh, that. It's nothing that you should be bothered with." Touzo said with a smile. "So...would you mind showing me this Neopia Central, Areh?"
What can I say? The conversation started to roll.
You've never been there? Well, its the biggest city I've ever been to. Its kind of a ways off. It'd take months to get back by air, let alone by foot. Like I said, I'm a traveler. Besides, its not like I have to worry about a house or anything. After all, I live in the Allyway Backroads. Its a maze of allyways behind some of the bigger buildings. Few live there and its not the most friendly place, but it suits my needs and I'm able to weather anything that goes on there, since I'm an allycat by rank," I explained, "Anyways, the night is coming. Unlike you, I don't like the night. It helps when it rains, but its still...well...I just don't like it. There's this thing that happens to me when the sun goes down to when the sun comes up. I...don't like people to know about it. Its easily misunderstood, after all, and I don't want people to make the wrong conclusions."
The sun hadn't fully sunk yet, but it soon would and it was apparent to me that I wouldn't get far enough away from Touzo in time to avoid his knowlage of it.
Something...happens?" Touzo said in a questioning voice. "I don't mean to sound rude by invaiding your privacy, it's just that...something kind of happens to me also. It's not at night, but it usually is, and I think it will tonight." Touzo looked back to the sun, now to see that it had set behind the endless plains. He looked back to me, seeing if anything had befallen me, I suppose.
The first thing that was noticable about me as soon as the sun had set, was that a smell was steadilly growing stronger from me...it was the reek of blood. My fur began to get damper with the warm, red liquid and would, in an hour or so, would begin falling off me in small drops. I sighed as I began to walk away from that spot I had been standing, leaving red pawprinds behind. I stopped walking and gestured over to the pawprints with an ear.
That is what happens every night to me. My blood-count peaks and multiplies much faster than usual. It multiplies so much that it cannot possibly be contained and seeps out my pores. I'm just glad that vampires are naught but fables," I replied, forcing a smile at the last sentence.
That last sentence was supposed to be a joke...
V-vampires huh? Y-yeah! Just a myth!" Touzo said with one eye closed, seeming to be restraining from something."You know, I actually don't think that it'll happen tonight. Yeah. Not tonight. Not tonight." Touzo slowly kept walking, now with both eyes tightly closed.
That got me concerned.
What happens to you at night anyway?" I asked, keeping pace beside Touzo.
That was a stupid question.
There isn't a reason for me to leave now since you know my secret."
I became even more concerned.
...Are you okay? You're stutering again. Oh, I'm sorry! Did I freak you out? I'll go, if you want me to."
No, no. It's fine. You don't have do go-" Touzo said, but getting cut off. His body began to morph into a human figure with long, flowing black hair that reached just below his waist. He wore a torn, pale gold shirt and torn black pants. Razor claws formed on his hands and feet. A large, muscular tail, no longer with any fur but scales, also appeared with a sharp, red diamond tip; the bracelet with the blood fang still around it. His eyes became stained with blood, and his pupils were no longer visible. And then, extremly huge black wings sprouted from his back. "Basically, this is what happens." Touzo said hovering over me.
I can't believe how nieve I was...
Wow. That's quite the change. I do feel a little distilled, but I'm glat that its only your appearence thats changed and not your personality. I've heard tales of people who are completely different because of their transformations. Like I said, I'm glad you're not one of them. You know, from what I can tell, you're a decent person," I replied with a friendly -disallowed_word-s) I specifically made for YOU

The lyrics are:
Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I've got left.
I don't know what stressed me first,
or how the pressure was fed,
but I know just what it feels like to have a voice in the back of my head.
Like a face that I hold inside,
a face that awaits when I close my eyes,
a face that I watch every time I lie,
a face that laughs every time I fall.
It watches everything.
So I know that when it's time to sink or swim,
the face inside is hearing me,
right underneath my skin.
It's like a paranoid, looking over my back;
it's like a whirlwind inside of my head;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within;
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin.
I know I've got a face in me,
points out all the mistakes to me.
You've got a face on the inside too.
Your paranoia's probably worse.
I don't know what set me off first, but I know what I can't stand:
Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is I can't add up to what you can,
but everybody has a face that they hold inside;
a face that awaits when I close my eyes;
a face that watches every time they lie;
a face that laughs every time they fall.
It watches everything,
so you know that when it's time to sink or swim,
that the face inside is watching you, too,
right inside your skin.
It's like a paranoid, looking over my back;
it's like a whirlwind inside of my head;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within;
it's like the face inside is right beneath the skin.
It's like a paranoid, looking over my back;
it's like a whirlwind inside of my head;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within;
it's like the face inside is right beneath my skin.
The face inside is right beneath your skin.
The face inside is right beneath your skin.
The face inside is right beneath your skin.
The sun goes down...
I feel the light betray me.
The sun goes down...
I feel the light betray me.
It's like a paranoid, looking over my back; (the sun...)
it's like a whirlwind inside of my head;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within;
it's like the face inside is right beneath the skin. (I feel the light betray me)
It's like a paranoid, looking over my back; (the sun...)
it's like a whirlwind inside of my head;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within;
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within; (I feel the light betray me)
it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within; (the sun...)
it's like the face inside is right beneath my skin.
~:Farewell:~
Dusk is upon you when you exit the Alleyway Back roads. You depart from behind the food shop with the Aisha as your guied and the sky is darkening.
Thank you very much, Whiteareh! I never would've-" you start, but when you turn to look at the Aisha, you see that he is gone. The sky is now dark and you see bloody pawprints on the ground. You gasp, hoping that Whiteareh's paws don't hurt too much. He must've cut them somehow. After all, the life of an alleycat must be rough. Well, he's gone and you deside to head home too. You're halfway home before you hear a sort of cackling in the distance and to your horer, realize that you left your precious morphing potion back in the Alleyway Back roads! Sure enough, as you look to the skies, you see the Pant Devil flying away from that direction with your potion clutched in his claws. Oh well. You may not have that potion anymore, but you can take this patch if you like!
