reference sheet - something used by artists as a full-body shot of an original character. often called a 'style sheet,' this usually has a full-body view from front, back, and sides, facial xpressions and, in some cases, a color key. (if you are still confused please see my references.)

transformers - a line of toy robots from the 1980s, made by merging two existing japanese toylines (diaclone and microman) together. divided into two factions, the autobots (good) and decepticons (evil) fought each other endlessly in the tv show and comics that followed. they had the ability to change into various items, mainly vehicles. their toyline, unlike other 80s toys, continued to be popular in various incarnations through the 1990s and have enjoyed a greater resurgence today due to the popularity of 80's nostalgia.

steampunk - a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic victorian or quasi-victorian alternate history setting. it could be described by the slogan "what the past would look like if the future had happened sooner." it includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes. medieval steampunk: speculative fiction set during the middle ages. victorian steampunk: a modern science fiction work (post-1930s) that is set in the early parts off the industrial revolution. western steampunk: science fiction set in the american old west. industrial/modern steampunk: science fiction taking place in the late industrial age, early modern age; i.e. world war 1, world war 2.

industrial - a genre of music incorporating heavy lyrics into machine noises started in the mid-1970's and continuing through the late 80's and early 90's. this genre of music has branched into other forms such as nu-metal, electronic industrial, etc., but all retain the essence of the original machinery and heavy guitar riffs.

gimp - abbreviation for "gnu image manipulation program," it's a free artistic image program that runs similarly to photoshop.

Ohai dar, guest. Welcome to Mi's Petpage of Arts. C: My name is Mirai and I am a whopping 22 years young. I am an active doodler and an even more active colorist. I have been drawing since I was very young (give or take about 10 years worth) and, while I do not consider myself the "best" by any stretch, I certainly do believe that I am of good-quality stuff. I have a background in both American and Japanese styles, but am currently more prone to American for my own reasons.

My current fad right now is a twisted, jumbled up mix between Industrial original art and Transformers fan art. I am positively infatuated by giant fighting robots from Cybertron but yet I also adore the look of the machines in Industrial works. I also must admit that I have found myself a love for the Steampunk world, so that adds a bit of a twist to the mix.

If you receive any art from me, you are automatically agreeing to follow these rules and expectations about my artwork without question.

First off, I implore you -- if you request something from me, PLEASE use it somewhere. I draw art that is intended to be displayed with other art pieces of your pets on their petpages or lookups, and I'd really appreciate it if my pieces were acknowledged somewhere where your own friends and readers can see it. I don't draw just for my own benefit and for you to just toss away like the family fruitcake.

Art Requests: Please Neomail me about your request. If I am running a Chat Board about requests, do not assume that I will be writing down and taking notes about who wants what. The only way for me to keep track of it fully is by getting a Neomail for the request. I may or may not accept your request; it all depends on my mood and what I'm feeling from your pet.

Please note that while I do art requests, these are shoddy, at best. I work for myself by drawing Commissions for people on other art sites and, at times, art requests are hard to get from me since I'm not getting anything back from it.

Things to include in the neomail are as follows:
(if you are confused about a term, please see my glossary.)

• Full name of the pet.
• Where the art will be displayed on Neopets only.
• What will be the situation/setting.
• Reference Sheet (required!).
• Anything else noteworthy about your pet/design.

Art Trades: If we do an art trade, the same rules apply here as above. If you have examples of your art, please give them to me in your Neomail. I don't want to go hunting around for your art page, so PLEASE do not say "on ___'s page".

Adoptables: Adoptables rules are the same as above. If we're doing a trade, link me to your Adoptables petpage.
Please make sure that the adoptables you want to request are NOT retired or M.I.A.

Are you taking requests?
Do NOT ask me this question. The answer for you has already been mentioned at the top of this page.

I don't have a reference, but could you draw my pet if I give you a description?
NO. I have stated above that I do not draw anyone's pets unless they have a reference.

How long will this take? I have a deadline to meet!
If you HAVE a deadline, say for a pet application, I am probably the LAST person you want to ask for art. I am notoriously lazy and I tend to be busy a lot of my waking hours, so it could easily take a week or two to finish one piece.

What do you use to make your art?
I tend to draw traditionally and then scan in my works. I currently use GIMP for all my program coloring because I'm cheap and can't afford Photoshop. I'm also cheap and don't have a tablet. ^^;

Do you accept fanart?
.'Course I do! What artist doesn't? C: All art made for my pets are located on their respective petpages, as well as here.
