The sky above is dark and dank and casts an eerie veil over the decimated town in which you seemed to have wandered into. You look up at an old church tower. It appears there is some sort of bird up there, perhaps a crow, but the lack of light makes it hard to tell.
Suddenly, the birds eyes open, revealing its bright glowing red eyes. It opens its great wings and takes off heading straight toward you!
You start to back away frightfully, but once the bird flies out of the shadows and into the dim light, you can see this is no ordinary bird. This creature is much larger than a crow and has horns.. something most normal birds don't carry.
The great bird swoops down in front of you just after you duck, just scathing your shoulder with its talon. The bird lands behind you, cutting off your only known exit.

Hmm, I haven't had a tasty, JUICY piece of meat as large as you in quite a while.

Wh-who, me?

But of course! You don't see any OTHER living thing around here, now do you?!

What!? You're gonna eat me!?

Well, why not? I'm hungry and I'm sure YOU don't have much purpose in this world.. unless.. you can prove me wrong..

Ah, MY purpose? I don't have one, not any longer. I was once known as Vivuza, the Dreaded Hell Phoenix, but that was in the past...

Vivuza hisses. Why does it matter to you when you will soon be in my stomach? ... Pah! Fine, it's not like I get to express my life story to anyone that often.. especially since they never have time to ask... He licks his chops.

I was once a guardian of Hell, but I had a nasty disposition (so my colleagues said) where I would have the undeniable urge to taste blood. At that time, those who were even more unlucky being brought through the Vestibule would be picked off by me and be torn apart with my own beak and talons. Not that it should matter too much; they were only going to serve their punishment for all of eternity, what did eating them matter?
But alas, as my thirst for blood grew, the other guards became worried for their own lives. After being caught several times, I was forced out of my duty and 'home' to live with the mortals of this world.
I no longer have my Hell phoenix abilities such as the tips of my wings and tale ablaze with fire and to be able to create waves of scorching heat with each flap of my wings.
There, now you know what my purpose in life was. Moving on.

I found this thing loafing around in Hell a while before I was banished and for some odd reason, it has been attracted to me since. It gets rather annoying for it has such large claws that scrape the earth and squawks unnecessarily. Not only that, but this thing is always so jittery and jumpy and rather stupid. How pitiful.
It would have already been devoured if it wasn't for the fact it has no meat on its bones..
