As years went by, the neopians who ran the building lied to Viper and told her that her parents fought on the darigan side of the war and that she was only one when they died so that's the reason why she forgot them. Viper is eighteen years old now and still does not know that Vlame and Veer are her parents.

Chapter 1

One day, Viper ran down the hall leaving her room to go to school. She was late because she over slept but strangely the doors were still locked and there were other neopians waiting for it to open. Usually they open the glass doors of the building from the dorm's to the school part at 8:00 am but it was 15 minute's past 8:00 and the doors were still closed so Viper and the others waited for any one to come and open the doors. They saw nobody through the glass doors. It was 8:30 am and still nothing till they saw the lady that is in charge of the building walking out of the office and into the main hall of the school part of the building with a darigan grarrl guard. The darigan grarrl looked scary. After they walked out of the office, Viper saw the darigan grarrl guard and the lady standing in the hall and they looked like they were having a important conversation. Viper could tell by the looks on their faces that they were quite serious. Viper could not hear what they were saying because the doors were still shut. Finally, the lady saw that Viper and the others were waiting for the doors to be opened. She walked over towards the doors, the darigan grarrl followed her and they were still talking with serious looks on their faces.

When the lady opened the door they heard the darigan grarrl say, "So are we clear madam?" with a very sharp tone and a serious look. "Yes we are clear," replied the lady with a calm voice. "Are you sure?" the darigan grarrl said. He sounded as if he were trying to find out something. "Yes I am clear," the lady said with a calm voice but now also annoyed. "All right then. I guess I will be on my way but if you see any thing suspicious please tell me," the darigan grarrl growled and then left.

What happened?" Viper asked and so did many other neopians. "Go to class," answered the lady who then went back into the office. Viper was wondering what was going on and what the grarrl meant by "So are we clear madam?" and with that very sharp tone.

Chapter 2

That same night when Viper went to bed, she could not go to sleep because what happened that day was so unusual. She finally went to sleep an hour later. Viper was sleeping but then a strange someone woke her up. It was still dark out! It was the lady in charge of the building! Viper asked her "why are you waking me up?" "Sshhh! Get out of bed and follow me and don't wake any one up!" the lady said. As Viper followed her, she was wondering about what was going on, first the Darigan grarrl guard then the lady waking her up for no reason. The lady walked into the office as Viper followed her. Viper had never been in the office before. As Viper was looking at everything in the office, the lady said. "Sit down on that chair and I will explain every thing to you." Viper quickly sat down. The lady started to say, "Do you know why that Darigan grarrl was here yesterday?" "No ma'am, I don't know," Viper said. "Well," she started to say, "Do you know who Lord kass was?" "Yes he was once a general of Lord Darigan then when Lord Darigan disappeared Kass took over Darigan citadel then started the second war over meridell but did not succeed." Viper answered then she wondered why did she ask that question about Lord Kass? "Yes," The lady said: "You know Lord kass's most trusted and loyal fighters and guards?" she asked again.

No ma'am I don't," Viper answered. "Well Lord Kass's guards and fighters were two Darigan bori male and female. They witnessed Lord kass's death and died right after Lord Kass died. Before the two Darigan bori died they had a daughter but no one can find the daughter of the two Darigan bori, some say she disappeared but others think that she is still alive and plotting to take over Darigan Citadel. The darigan grarrl was looking to see if the daughter of the two Darigan bori lived here," the lady said.

Why does he think she's here and what will happen to her when they find her?!" Viper asked. Then Viper wondered why the lady was telling her this? "I don't know," the lady said. Viper was getting interested in what the lady was telling her. Normally, the subject of history bored her. Maybe it was the fact that the daughter of the two darigan bori was missing and it was a mystery where she was, but somehow Viper was connected to the story.

Viper did not know what to say but she had to ask this question: "Why did you wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me this?!

Viper," the lady started to say in a calm voice. "Viper, you should have known this a long time ago but they did not want you to know this but I have to tell you now." Viper listened to her very seriously but she did not know that what the lady was about to say would change her life. "Viper," The lady asked. "Do you remember your parents? "
No," Viper answered quietly.
Viper, you know the two darigan bori's daughter that we were talking about?" the lady asked.
Yes. What about her?" Viper asked.

You are the daughter," the lady said.
Viper could not believe it! "Wait?!," Viper said stunned "Wait, You mean to tell me that I am the daughter of the two darigan bori and that is what guards are looking for, me?"
Yes," the lady replied.

Then, Viper remembered a dream she had a long time ago, She was very little walking along with two darigan bori towards lord Kass on his throne with a little green eyrie sitting on his lap. She thought it was a dream because it seemed very fuzzy to remember and nothing made sense until now--After the lady told her about the two darigan bori, the dream now did not seem like a dream anymore, it seemed real. One thing about that memory that still did not make sense: Who was that little green eyrie with lord Kass? Was that little green eyrie his son? Did he even have a son? Those questions buzzed around her head till the lady said something else:

Viper." the lady said. "You need to leave here! They may find you if you stay here."
Viper was stunned. "What will happen to me if they find me?

I don't know but you need to leave here first thing in the morning." "Where will I go?" Viper asked

Anywhere, you will have to fend for yourself now," the lady answered.

What do you mean by I have to fend for my self? I am too young to do that!

Viper, you are eighteen years old now! Your old enough to fend for yourself," the lady replied sharply.

Viper did not know what else to say. "You better go to sleep now because in a few hours you have to get up and get going," the lady said.

Chapter 3

Viper could still not believe what the lady had told her. She did not want to argue more because she was exhausted from all he news. Viper walked to her bed quietly without waking anyone up. Tomorrow is a big day, she thought. Too big, she thought, just too big. She was just laying on her bed thinking: "How come I never even heard of those darigan bori, and why did the lady call them the two darigan bori? Don't they have names?

Questions buzzed around Viper's head, but the biggest question Viper wondered was how she got the scar that almost covered the entire front of her left front leg. The scar was hard to see because it blended so well with her red coat. Unlike any other bori, Viper had high speed but low defense because the plates on her back did not cover her entire back like other bori's did. "How did I get my scar?" was the question she had wondered for as long as she could remember.

Viper was still awake thinking for a very long time that night. She finally wondered what time it was. She looked at the clock and it was 5:00 am! "The lady will wake me up in an hour! Even if I go to sleep now I will only have 3 hours of sleep! I have get some sleep!" Viper thought and tried desperately to stop all the raging thoughts that were racing through her mind. "Why did the lady have to tell me late at night about my parents and that I would have to leave the night before I leave?" Viper finally went to sleep.

An hour later, the lady woke her up. It seemed like she had just gone to sleep. The lady whispered to her: "Viper you have to get up." Viper could not get out of bed, the thoughts in her head tired her out. "Why do I have to get up?" Viper questioned quietly. "Remember?" the lady quietly said. "I remember, but why do I have to get up this early?" Viper asked. "Because you need to get up before anyone else gets up! Now get out of bed and follow me!" the lady demanded.

Viper groaned when she got out of bed. She was really tired. Viper followed the lady to the office. The lady gave Viper important papers to carry with her on her journey. "Viper you need to go now," the lady said. Viper was silent and still tired from the night before. The sun was not even up yet. Viper looked at the lady with worry. "Viper you will be fine," the lady said. "Now I will walk with you out of the building." The lady walked Viper out of the building. "When I go, will I ever see you again?" Viper asked in a shaky voice. "Probably never, Viper," the lady answered. What the lady said made Viper more nervous. "But, remember, you said that you no longer wanted to be in this building because it was so boring?" the lady said firmly. "Umm well it is boring but umm uh never mind" Viper stammered. Viper did think living in the building was boring but the building was the only place Viper had ever lived. Viper was afraid to live anywhere but the building. Now, just like that, Viper had to leave the building. The lady got out the map of neopia and showed it to Viper.

She showed Viper where to get food for free: The giant omelette, and the soup kitchen. "And remember, most importantly," the lady said: "Never go to Darigan Citadel and NEVER show anyone your birth certificate!" "Why?" Viper asked. "Remember, Neopians are still searching for the darigan bori's daughter!" the lady exclaimed.

Ok, I guess I better get going now," Viper said nervously. "Bye!" the lady waved. "Where should I start walking?" Viper asked. "You're on your own now but if I were you I would head up to the soup kitchen," the lady said. "Ok, thanks. Bye!" Viper said and started walking away. The lady waved goodbye and stood in the same place as Viper walked away.

Chapter 4

Viper walked awhile and then she would look back at the lady. The farther Viper walked, the smaller the lady looked. Then, Viper glanced back and she no longer saw the lady. The sun was just rising, it was getting light out, but then, strangely, it was dark again. Viper looked back to see why it was dark and she saw that Darigan Citadel was blocking the sun. Even though she had traveled far, she could still see the citadel.

Viper finally reached neopia central. She found the soup kitchen and got free soup so she was no longer hungry. Viper then wondered what terror mountain looked like so she headed up there but she did not know that it would be dark in a couple of hours.

A while later, Viper noticed it was getting dark quickly. She thought that she would be in terror mountain faster if she walked twice as fast as she was walking now. However, it soon became pitch black outside. Viper soon panicked because she thought she was lost.

Are you lost?" asked a voice. Viper jumped with fear and ran! She heard something running after her. "HEY wait a minute, you seem like you're lost and need some help!" the voice said. Viper turned around to see what it was and behind her was a jolly Christmas painted bori. "Sorry to frighten you but you sound like you need some help." the jolly Christmas painted bori said. "Where is terror mountain?" Viper asked. She was frightened but was amazed because she had never seen a neopian that was Christmas painted before. "You're going straight towards terror mountain, and you will reach it by midnight. Then when you get tired, you should make a nice hole to sleep in," the jolly bori said.

Viper started walking fast because it was dark outside and the only light came from the moon. After that jolly bori said something about digging a burrow to sleep in Viper thought: "I never thought about sleeping, where do I sleep?" Viper still walked fast. She was very tired but she did not stop because she needed to get to terror mountain fast. It was getting colder and it started to snow. Viper knew she was getting closer. The more north she was, the harsher the weather became. The wind was very strong so strong that Viper could barely see. Then, suddenly, she saw lights. She was in terror mountain! Viper was excited but she knew she had to find some place to sleep. Viper found a big cliff that blocked the wind. Viper walked in front of the cliff. She did not feel the wind any more.

Viper walked toward the cliff then a group of bori jumped out of the ground. Viper jumped. "Who's walking towards here?" one of the bori asked. "OH LOOK! A new bori!" another bori said. The bori saw the surprised reaction of Viper. "What's your name?" asked one of the bori. "Umm... my name is Viper." "Do you live in terror mountain?" one of the bori asked. "No," Viper said. "Where do you live?" another asked. "Meridell," Viper said. "Wow! Viper does not sound like a meridelian name but who am I to judge?!" said a very peppy bori. "Is this your first time in terror mountain?" the peppy bori asked. "Yes, it is my first time in terror mountain," Viper replied. "Awww, I'm sorry there is very bad weather on your first time here. This is the worst storm of the year you must be freezing! Right over there is a good spot to dig a nice hole to sleep in," said the peppy bori and pointed to the place where Viper could dig a burrow. Viper walked to the spot and started digging. The peppy bori winked and went back into his hole.

Viper thought digging a burrow deep enough to sleep in would be hard but wow she was amazed at how easy it was. All she needed were large claws to dig and bori had huge claws. Viper dug deep enough to make a burrow. After making enough room in the burrow, Viper went to sleep but she could not get to sleep right away even though she was exhausted. Then Viper thought of something: "I wonder what my parents names are and why the lady did not tell me? Maybe their names are on my birth certificate." Viper searched through her fanny pack until she found her birth certificate. The hole she is in was very dark but Viper could see in the dark.

Chapter 5

Viper took out her birth certificate and read it. She skipped through the boring parts like how much she weighed and how tall was she when she was born and blah blah. A lot on this certificate did not make sense like what it says here: "Color: Darigan". Wait a minute! I'm not Darigan! Viper read some more: "Area of birth: Daragin Citadel". So much for being a meridelian, Viper thought. "Last name: Darigan" "Yeah, I'm defiantly not a meridelian!" Viper thought. "Eye color: red" This can't be right! My eyes are not red! I can't believe this," Viper thought. Then something caught her eye: "Mothers name: Vlame" "Fathers name: Veer" So, her parents did have names and how funny that their names started with a V like her own name. It seems like part of my memory is lost somewhere. Viper thought as she read on. "First name: Viper." "At least I knew one thing about myself that was on this piece of paper," Viper thought.

Then, Viper saw something at the bottom of the certificate that made her heart sink, "If anything shall happen to Vlame and Veer, Lord Kass will be Viper's guardian." Howhow is this possible? Lord Kass be my guardian if something happened to my parents, that's a lot of trust and responsibility! Not only that but Lord Kass had signed his name there and so had my parents with their signatures, their names, and their handwriting! Vlames handwriting was all cursive. Veer was all in print. Lord kass's handwriting was I don't know, proper? Vlame and Veer must have trusted Lord Kass a lot to make him my guardian if any thing happened to them. Then Viper remembered at school, teachers teaching us about the war between Meridell and Darigan citadel and how evil Lord kass was! Why did my parents trust an evil guy like Kass and how did they know him?

Then, Viper remembered about what the lady told her about Vlame and Veer and how they are Lord Kass's most trusted and loyal fighters and guards. Does that make them evil because they are Lord Kass's most trusted fighters and guards? Maybe lord Kass is not evil-Don't say that, she exclaimed! Viper couldn't believe what she was saying Lord kass was not evil! Then Viper thought of something else: Did being the Daughter of Lord Kass's most trusted and loyal guards and fighters make her evil? Am I evil? Then Viper remembered about what the lady said about the daughter of the two darigan bori. At that time, she had not known who the daughter of the two, darigan bori were and now she did.

No wonder why the lady told her never to show anyone her birth certificate. If neopian's see the name lord Kass on her certificate they would run for the hills! Viper folded her birth certificate and put it back in her fanny pack. She lay down and thought "It does not matter anymore about my parents and Lord kass because all three of them are dead." Then Viper quickly fell asleep.

Chapter 6

The next day Viper was just minding her own business venturing through the now sunny terror mountain until a fire buzz and red skeith came along. "Hey lOOk it's a booooooorrrrriiiii," said the skeith. Viper stopped what she was doing and looked at the buzz and skeith. "BOOOOri are so BORING and that's how they got their stupid name," said the skeith.

Viper was still looking at them. "Hey bOOOOOOOrrrrriiiii, what's your name?" asked the buzz. "Viper," she answered. The buzz and skeith laughed meanly. "Wow, what a vicious name for a dumb bOOOOOrrrrriiiii!!!," the skeith and buzz said sarcastically. Viper glared at them.

Hey why don't we show some fun to this boring BOOOOOOOrrrrriiiii?" the skeith said to the buzz. "Sure, after you pronounce "bori" right, fools" said Viper. The buzz and skeith were outraged at Viper's comment and she was glaring at them! They could not take that from such a bori!

The buzz quickly flew over to Viper and grabbed her. Viper could not do any thing because she was in such shock. After the buzz grabbed her, he flew 50 feet in the air as the skieth laughed meanly at the shocked look on Viper's face. Then, the buzz dropped her from 50 feet up in the air and laughed!!

Viper thought she was going to die but the snow was there as a cushion. If it weren't for the snow, she would be dead for sure. Viper landed feet first on the snow, not dead but she could not move her legs. Viper stood in the same spot where she landed. She looked with a pained look at the buzz and skeith who were still laughing at her. "Lets have some more fun with her!" the buzz said. "NO!!," Viper said with a painful cry. Viper could not run away because she could not move her legs. The buzz and skeith walked over to Viper and laughed and said "What a weakling!" Then, all of the sudden, the skeith body slammed Viper. Viper was squished in the snow. Then the skeith got off of her. Viper heard whispering she did not know what was going to happen…

The skeith and buzz started tackling, hurting and attacking Viper. Viper was getting beaten up real bad. Ten minutes later, the skeith and buzz stopped and laughed: "She did not even try to hurt us, weakling!" said the buzz.

The skeith ran off with the buzz that was flying 20 feet in the air. They were both laughing and making fun of Viper. Vipers head was under the snow then after she heard them laugh, she had enough energy to lift her head above the snow and got really angry when she saw them run away, she could not do anything because she was in so much pain that she could not move, but she felt something that she had never felt before. She wanted something, she wanted them to be just as hurt as she was…

Her pain quickly melted into anger and revenge as she saw them running off. "What am I feeling?" Viper asked herself as she was getting ready to bolt at the fools. "Don't do it Viper, Don't do it!," she said to herself but was too late.

Not feeling pain any more, Viper bolted after the skeith and buzz who were still laughing. They didn't even know viper was right behind them. Without thinking Viper quickly leaped 20 feet in the air and grabbed the buzz's tail, pulling him down to the ground. Viper landed safely with the buzz's tail in her hands. The buzz and skeith were too shocked to do anything.

Pleased at her efforts of speed and jumping in the air, Viper clutched the buzz's tail tighter and started whacking the buzz's body to the ground. Then, she realized that she had forgotten the skeith so she threw the buzzes body on the skeith and then she started tackling them till they both were knocked out.

Viper was panting. She looked at them with hatred in her eyes. She was feeling something, something. What was she feeling? What was she feeling? Viper wondered evilly and said. "Well, well, well, I guess now we know who the weak ones are!" Viper felt really strong and proud! If she felt like this every time she hurt someone then no wonder why the villains like her parents and Lord Kass chose to become evil. What Viper did not know that she only felt like that because she got her revenge on them.

Viper longed to have that same feeling of pride and strength again like when she attacked the skeith and buzz. She attacked her first victim after she attacked the buzz and skeith thinking that she would have that same feeling but she did not. "What did I do wrong to not get the feeling?" viper wondered. "Maybe I was not strong enough but I will keep trying till I get that feeling and I will get that feeling."

During the next 6 years, Viper attacked neopians and people. She was now 24 years old and still had not gotten that feeling of pride, strength and success. Instead, she felt quite the opposite.

Viper started attacking people for their stuff. Viper thought: "To attack is to get what you want. Stealing, you just take the stuff without anyone noticing but attacking is more of a thrill." Viper had been all over neopia except for faerie land, darigan citadel, maraqua, krelor, Mystery island, and virtipets space station. She did not go there because it was hard to get there. Viper was now nicknamed the "Attacking Red Bandit." She did not mind the nickname because it was not stupid but she was getting well known so she stopped attacking anyone because the longer it went on, the more likely that the guards of where ever will find her…

Viper stopped attacking people for their stuff. However, Viper still growls, glares and might even still attack people who step in her path.

Chapter 7

Viper was just walking alone on a path leaving tyrania one day. There was no one in sight "I'm glad no one's here. Its rare that there is no one on this path," viper thought as she kept walking. Then, she heard a human and a ghost hissi talking. "Just when I thought I was alone, I wasn't, but as long as she leaves me alone, then I'm good. I never saw a ghost hissi before," Viper thought as she kept walking.

Hey Wyrm, I wonder if that bori is lost?" loudly whispered the Human. "Oh no not another fool!" Viper thought. "Moray! How many times do I have to tell you to be MORE QUIET when you whisper!!! Besides I think that bori might be the Attacking red bandit!" Wyrm said loudly. "Oh no! He's on to me!" Viper thought in terror. "Oh Wyrm, where do you get this stuff from?" Moray said and before Wyrm could answer her, she came up to Viper and said:

Hello sweet bori! Are you lost?" Viper glared at her till she saw fright in the human's eyes and said meanly: "I hate it when everyone calls me sweet and what a insult to say I'm lost!" The human stammered and felt frightened at being glared at and said, "I'm sorry, I just thought you needed some help. My name is Moray and this is Wyrm."

Oh, ok" Viper said and started walking away.
Wait, what's your name?" Moray asked.
Viper." Viper said and started walking away again.
Wait! Do you have an owner?" Moray asked.
No I don't." said Viper before she could stop herself.
Would you like to live with us?" Moray asked. Wyrm looked at Moray's direction in shock. "She has to be insane!" Wyrm thought.

Viper also could not believe what she was hearing. She gave Moray the meanest glare she could and walked away every time she got a chance to! Viper never had someone ask her that and all Viper wanted was to be left alone! "No." Viper said sharply and glared. "Oh, but where do you live? What do you eat? Where do you sleep? Are you sure you don't want to stay with us?" asked Moray. Viper thought she was crazy for asking her that, but she must be nice because Viper thought no one wanted her and she was giving Moray the nastiest glares and Moray asked her to live with her anyway.

Well, Viper could leave as easily as she arrived. First, Viper had to ask Moray some questions. "Where do you live?" Viper asked. "Mystery Island" Moray said. (Mystery island, they won't be on to me because I never attacked anyone there)

Is there anyone else living in your neohome?" Viper asked. "Yes, Kapaa the white Kougra and Zebra the striped Zafara." (Hmm, I wonder what they are like) "Will I get a room to myself?" asked Viper. "Yes, you will but I have to build the room first. You can sleep in the guest room for your first night and if you decide that you like the guest room, I could build another guest room." Said Moray. (Oh, wow, I'm in!!)
I will stay then." Viper said brefly.

You're living with us?" Wyrm asked.

Yes I am." Viper said.

That's great, and we must board a boat to Mystery Island now!" Moray insisted.

Viper got on the boat with Moray and Wyrm and sailed down to Mystery island. There she met Zebra and Kapaa who were very surprised to hear that Viper would now live with them. At first Viper did not like Zebra because at first glance, Zebra looked really girly but then Zebra turned out to be cool!

Viper thought she would have liked Wyrm because he looked really scary but Wyrm turned out to be a really nice. Which really annoyed Viper. Viper and Wyrm did not get along at all! They argued all the time and sometimes they even fought each other!

Viper did not know what she should expect from Kapaa. Kapaa turned out to be quiet and tried to stay out of arguments between Viper and wyrm but when Kapaa cant take it anymore he always is on Wyrm's side, which annoyed Viper!

Chapter 8

One day, Wyrm was out doing something while Viper, Zebra and Kapaa were home. Wyrm often goes out of the house. Kapaa, Zebra and Viper always ask him where he has been but Wyrm never tells them. When Wyrm finally came back, he told them that he had been to Darigan Citadel, which of course got Viper's full attention. Viper never paid any attention to anyone. However, Wyrm, Kapaa and Zebra noticed that Viper was paying attention to Wyrm talking about his trip to Darigan Citadel.

Hey Viper how come you never paid anyone any attention but now your paying a lot of attention to Wyrm talking about Darigan Citadel?" Zebra asked. Viper glared at her and said: "Is that any of your business?" "I think she's paying a lot of attention to Wyrm because I think she's a Darigan, no wonder why she's so nasty to us!" Kapaa said. Viper looked down to see if her fanny pack was still belted around her, a habit she always had. Viper was going to say something but Wyrm cut her off.
Normally I would be concerned but I'm glad I have Vipers full attention because when I was at Darigan Citadel, I met someone and I wanted him to meet you. I brought him here," Wyrm said. "Oh No! Don't tell me you met someone who looks nice but is evil!" Kapaa said. "Kapaa, you know I learned my lesson on that!" Wyrm glared at Kapaa. "I brought him over here because he is really interesting. He is a real darigan but he is green!" Wyrm said. "Green?" Viper questioned. "Yes, he looks like a darigan eyrie but he's green!" Wyrm said. Zebra did not say anything because she was scared to hear that Wyrm brought home a stranger from Darigan Citadel.

I'm going to introduce him to you now." Wyrm said. Wyrm left briefly and returned "Guys, I want you to meet Hero." Wyrm said. Then a green eyrie walked into the room. Viper, Kapaa and Zebra were surprised at what they saw! The eyrie walked in on four legs. His wings were huge, his face looked really stern and he had the biggest scar they had ever seen on his left side from the middle of his back to his back leg.

Nice to meet you, Wyrm has been telling me a bit about each of you. My name is Hero," the green eyrie said. Zebra, Viper, and Kapaa were shocked! The eyrie looked very stern and serious but when he spoke he sounded very polite and sweet.

Kapaa, Zebra, and Viper introduced themselves. "I'm glad to meet you Kapaa, Viper and Zebra." Hero said. "Can I ask you a question?" Viper asked. "Of course," Hero said as if he already knew what Viper was going to ask him.

Why is your name Hero?" Viper asked. "How did you get that scar?" Zebra blurted. "Who gave you that scar?" Kapaa asked. Kapaa wanted to be polite but if Viper and Zebra were asking questions so could he! Hero looked down at the ground and said uneasily, "The subject of how I got my scar is none of your business and it's a long story about why my name is Hero." Viper and Kapaa exchanged a look. They did not trust Hero. Viper looked at Hero, he somehow looked familiar like she had met him before.

You look familiar somehow," Viper said to Hero. "Yeah, why do you look like Lord Kass?" Kapaa said. Hero looked very offended and shocked as if he had not expected that. "Kapaa, that's not a very nice to say to Hero. How would you like for someone to say you look like a villain?" Wyrm asked. "I don't think that's offending. Its not like I'm calling him a bad name," Kapaa said. Wyrm glared at Kapaa. "Wyrm, now that you mention it, you look like that ghost in the lost tomb in Geraptiku," Kapaa said. Viper and Zebra burst out laughing. Kapaa laughed too. Hero was still in a bit of a shock about being accused of looking like Lord Kass. Wyrm was annoyed.

Hero stayed with Zebra, Viper, Wyrm, and Kapaa the entire afternoon and evening. They were all talking the whole time Hero was there. Viper did not want to join in their conversation. Somehow Viper had Hero's interest more than Wyrm, Kapaa, or Zebra. Every time Hero had a chance to talk to Viper, he would but Viper just ignored him and gave him a brief one word answer if she had to. Hero somehow was in the room alone with Viper. "Viper, I wanted to ask you this question the whole time I was here." Hero said.

Viper wondered what Hero was going to say to her. "What do you mean I look familiar?" Hero asked. "Same question, why do you look like Kass? " Viper remarked. "I don't know why I look like him." Growled Hero. "Well you just do look familiar to me!" Viper said. "Ok, fine." Hero said. Later, Hero left the house because he said he needed to get back home.

Chapter 9

One week later, Viper was venturing around Meridell. It had been a while since she'd been to Meridell. Viper smiled as she looked up and saw Darigan citadel. The shadow of it was large, dark, and cold. Viper was laying in the shadow when four shady gelert's came up to her. "Attacking red bandit, you have been gone a while. We have been looking for you. Where have you been?" one of the shady gelert's asked in a deep voice. "Well, well, well. Why were you looking for me?" Viper questioned. "We just were." Another of the shady gelert's said. Viper knew what was going to happen. They were challenging her! "I can take them! I always can," Viper thought as she quickly surprised attacked one of the shady gelerts.

Viper was surprised that they were not shocked. Usually everyone is shocked when she attacks them. It was as if they had been expecting it. While Viper was attacking one of the shady gelert's, another of the gelert's tried to get Viper's fanny pack off without her noticing but Viper did notice and attacked him. The three gelerts who weren't being attacked by Viper grabbed her! She started fighting them off and tried to make them let her go but they did not. The gelert that tried to get Viper's fanny pack off tried again after she was being held.

Now lets see what you have got there," the gelert that was not holding her said. He retrieved her fanny pack. Viper tried to attack him but she could not. "Hey that's mine don't look in there! Stop! Please!" Viper begged as the gelert took off her fanny pack.
Not now, I have more important things to do like what I'm doing now," the gelert said and grinned.
The gelert zipped open her fanny pack and looked through it. "There is nothing here but a bunch of papers!" the gelert said with disappointment.
Then, he saw something that caught his eye. "Wait, I found something. It looks like someone's birth certificate," the gelert said as he took out Viper's birth certificate.
NO!!! That's my birth certificate! Your can't read it you just can't!" Viper yelled.
Oh, so its yours! Lets see who the attacking red bandit's really is!" the gelert said.

The gelert read through it. "So, your actual name is Viper! You were born a Darigan, that explains a lot of your behavior. Your parents are named Vlame and Veer," the gelert read out loud.

Viper cringed when she saw him looking down at the bottom of the paper. She knew what was coming. The gelert that was looking at the certificate gasped and look like he was in shock. Viper's heart sank. "Is everything all right sir?" one of the other gelert's asked.

I, I, I cant believe it!" the gelert who was reading the certificate said. "You can't believe what?" The other gelert asked.

If anything shall happen to Vlame and Veer, Lord Kass will be Viper's guardian," the gelert read out loud. All of the gelert's gasped after he said that.

Wait a minute, Vlame and Veer? That's the name of the two darigan bori! That's means you're the daughter of them!" the gelert exclaimed! The gelert quickly put Viper's birth certificate back in her fanny pack. "Let go of her and run!" the gelert ordered as he dropped Viper's fanny pack and ran as fast as he could away from her. The other gelert's dropped Viper and quickly followed the gelert who was now out of sight.

Viper was glad that they were gone. Viper quickly picked up her fanny pack and cackled, thinking of the gelerts reaction when they saw the bottom of her certificate. Then, she started to worry.

What if those gelerts tell Darigan's guards about me?" she worried. "I better get back to Mystery island fast." Viper quickly took a ferry back to Mystery island. She stopped worrying so much as soon as she reached Mystery Island. She thought she was safe in Mystery Island...

Chapter 10

The next day Viper went for a walk by the river. She was still a little worried because of what happened yesterday. She looked in the river and saw her reflection. She looked different, very different than the last time she saw her reflection! The last time she saw her reflection was back when she did not know about being the daughter of Vlame and Veer.

A sudden movement disrupted her thoughts. Viper turned around, looked up, and gasped at who she saw. "Remember me?" a familiar kyri asked. The kyri was the first neopian besides the buzz and the skeith to be attacked by Viper. Viper could not believe it! Viper was worried. "Yes, I remember you. Has it been six years since I saw you?" Viper said. "Yes, it has been six years since you attacked me and a few months since I last heard of you attacking another neopian, Viper."
Viper cringed. "How do you know my name?" Viper asked. "My friends told me," the kyri said as the leader of those four shady gelerts came up next to him. Viper panicked.

You remember me from yesterday right?" the gelert asked.
Yes, I do." Viper said as she looked around them to see if anyone else was there.

Why are you here?" Viper asked.

To put you back in your place," the kyri said.
To put you where you belong," The gelert said.

What do you mean?" Viper asked panicked and confused. "You know what we mean," the kyri said. "The Darigan guards were looking for you a long time," the gelert said.
You mean the guards are here?" Viper asked shocked.
The Kyri and Gelert smirked and nodded. Viper trembled then bolted away.

Get her," the gelert said. Then, all of the sudden, a few guards charged after Viper and grabbed her. Viper did not give up. She kept struggling! Viper almost escaped then one of the guards stabbed Viper with medicine that made her suddenly fall asleep.

Chapter 11

Viper woke up feeling very weird. What happened to me? Viper wondered. Was I sleeping? Why was I sleeping? Viper opened her eyelids, groaned, and then she looked up and gasped at who she saw.

Are you umm-" Viper said not finishing her sentence. "Lord Darigan, the Lord of the Darigan Citadel." Lord darigan said finishing what Viper was going to say.

Viper nodded her head in shock. "W-what happened? Where am I? Why was I asleep? How long was I sleeping?" Viper questioned panicked.

Your in my tower in the Citadel. You were asleep the whole time it took the guards to bring you here. You woke up a half hour after you arrived here." Lord Darigan said calmly.

Why did you bring me here?" Viper demanded.

Well, being Vlame and Veers daughter, I thought you wanted to be here to tell me about your past." Lord Darigan said.

What do you mean by my past?" Viper growled, "I've got nothing to tell.

I'm sorry, your probably uncomfortable talking to me about your past, you probably don't remember me.

How can I remember you when I have never even met you!" Viper snapped.

I will let Sapphire explain," Lord Darigan said.

Then a royal blue Eyrie walked in the room. "Sapphire, do you want me to stay here or leave you alone with Viper?" Lord Darigan asked.

I will be alone with her." Sapphire the royal blue Eyrie said and then smiled.

Oh great not another smiley neopian," Viper thought while she rolled her eyes.

Viper! I'm so glad that we finally found you! It's been two decades since I last saw you!" Sapphire said and hugged Viper.

Get off of me!" Viper snapped and hissed. Sapphire looked hurt and frightened. "What do you mean by 'it's been years since you saw me'? I have never met you!" Viper said with a low deep growl.

What? You mean you don't remember me?" Sapphire asked.

I don't know what you mean by remember!" Viper said sharply.

Do you remember anything that happened before you were four years old?" Sapphire asked. "No." Viper said sharply. "Oh wait that's right. You-" Sapphire stopped what she was saying and looked at the ground sadly.

I what?" Viper asked.
You and I used to be friends, Viper, until they took you away when you were four, after your parents died. I thought they wiped out your memory but I wasn't sure but I guess they did wipe your memory," said Sapphire sadly and all choked up.

Viper could not believe what Sapphire said! "WHAT? You mean to tell me that neopians where I used to live in meridell lied to me all those years about my past and they wiped my memory so I could not remember my past?" Viper yelled and stomped around the room. She was outraged at what Sapphire was telling her!

Sapphire was scared that Viper might take her anger out on her. "Don't be angry." Sapphire said frightened.

What do you mean don't be angry? How would you like it if someone lied to you saying that your parents died in the war when you were only one so that's the reason you forgot them but I was really four when they died and I forgot them because they wiped out my memory!!!" fumed Viper. "I'm sorry." Sapphire said with a frightened voice. "Who were they and where are they?" Viper loudly demanded.

Who?" Sapphire asked.

Don't ask me who! I mean the neopians who wiped my memory out!" Viper growled.

I don't know who they were." Sapphire said.

How can you not know!" yelled Viper.

Please, I was five years old when that happened, I don't remember!" Sapphire pleaded.

Ok I don't expect you to remember that because you were young." Viper said sternly. Sapphire let out a sigh of relief. "But I will find those neopians even if I have to destroy the whole Citadel to find them!" Viper said darkly.

What!? You can't!" Sapphire gasped.

I will." Viper said then bolted out of the room knocking Sapphire down hard.

Viper made it out of the tower. She looked around amazed at what she saw. Darigan Citadel was what she had expected: It was dark and gloomy. There were evil looking neopians walking around in the streets. Viper quickly caused trouble, she began destroying and damaging every thing. Viper began hissing at the Darigans and challenging them to fights. The darigans rejected her challenges, ran away from her, and screamed. Viper was shocked that even Darigans were afraid of her!

Meanwhile...

Sapphire got up from being knocked over by Viper. She looked down at the ground sadly. She was sad Viper forgot everything that happened when she was four years old. Then Sapphire realized something, Where was Viper? Sapphire looked down the hall and saw that the door to outside was open: Sapphire panicked! She quickly rushed over to Lord Darigans room. "Darigan! Darigan!" Sapphire called out panicked. Lord Darigan quickly came out of his room

What's wrong?" Lord Darigan asked.

Darigan! Viper escaped and I think she is causing trouble in the Citadel!" Sapphire said with panic.

Its alright Sapphire, we will get Hero to bring her back here." Lord Darigan said.

As Viper was charging around the Citadel she heard a shrill, high, pitched scream that sent chills down her back. She looked behind her and the one who was making the noise was a green eyrie on a nine foot high cliff.

Meanwhile...

Sapphire walked down the halls, she was relieved that Hero could bring Viper back. Sapphire realized that Viper had dropped and forgotten her fanny pack. Sapphire quickly went back in to the room and was alarmed that she saw an intruder in Darigan's Tower. The intruder looked like a darigan bori with a mask covering his head. The darigan bori was reading something from Vipers fanny pack. "What are you doing here? Who are you?" Sapphire demanded.

The bori jumped "Huh? Whatz?" he said with a shocked look. "Zavire?!" He said stunned.

What? How do you know my name? Who are you? What are you doing!" Sapphire demanded.

The bori calmed down. "Ze namez Vaiderz and ov coarze I know ze name ov one ov Dariganz healerz." he said and grinned evilly but Sapphire could not see him grinning because his mask covered it. "I waz juzt readingz ze red attacking banditz birth zertivicate which turnez outz that ze red attacking bandit'z real name iz Viperz andz her parentz are Vlamez and Veerz."

Oh, why do you have a mask covering your head and what's with the accent?" Sapphire asked.

Nonez ov youz buzinezz." Vaider said then fled leaving Sapphire puzzled.

Meanwhile...

The eyrie jumped down and Viper realized it was the eyrie she met a week ago with the huge scar that looked like kass. Hero paced back and forth in front of Viper and made a low growl like he wanted to challenge her to a fight. Viper was not afraid of him. After all Viper can take him...
