I started my life so happy and carefree, but then one day my parents told me they had arranged a marriage for me with a kougra named Tevlim. They said he was hansome, strong, and would treat me good. When I met him I agreed. So we were bonded together for life, and soon we had a litter of cubs. There were four cubs to be exact, but sadly two of them were still-born. The other two were both female, and I got to name one of them. I picked to name the runt of the litter, for she seemed the most like me. I called her Tisia, a name meaning "little one" in the tongue of my pack. The other one my mate Tevlim named. He called her Riviece meaning "sweet one".

And we were so happy for that little part of our lives.

Then, my mate told me that he was a vampire. He said it was possible that the cubs might be vampires too. I was so frightened that I ran away, with both of them, although I knew it would solve nothing. I planned to raise my little ones in the forest all by myself.

It was rough. I could hardly get enough food for myself. I did not know how to survive on my own, let alone with cubs.

One day I came back from hunting and my cubs were playing with a small girl. They looked so happy with her. When the girl saw me she seemed fearless. This was a good quality, so I asked the girl if she could take care of my cubs. She said she'd be happy to.

So it was done. Before I let my cubs go, I gave them each something of mine. For Riviece, I gave her a gold earing, and for Tisia I gave her a silver earing. I hoped this would always remind them of me.

After, I lived life fine, only I was so lonely.

One day I heard a little squeal coming from the direction of the pond. It was a tiny koi that had been caught by a fisherman.

I decided to lunge at the fisherman and make him fall into the water, but the fisherman had a knife. Before he ran away from me, the man stabbed me in the throut.

I put the koi back in the water, and she said I could have one wish. I tried to speak, but no words came out. She put her fin to the gash on my throut and healed the wound. I still could not speak and therefore, could not make a wish. So instead, she gave a necklace that allowed me to call upon her anytime to use my wish. She also said that I would get my voice back when I kissed a vampire. How could she know?

So I wandered to find my mate. At last I found him. It was so easy; he had never left our home. But I don't know how to show him that it's me. If I can tell him, I can find my cubs again. I miss them so.
