Hey there! Welcome to my (Olly's) About Me page. This is more for my own reference and random stalkers than it is for the general public, but I figured that it should be put up nonetheless. Shall we begin?

5.24 Quite a few updates today! First and foremost, I was chosen to adopt Plunger, so now I own the most epically named UC Tyrannian Lenny in existence. Thank you for all of your help and support! As always, I joined Moltara, so I'm hoping that we take our rightful place at not-18th-and-hopefully-above-15th! I updated my wishlists as well with minor things. I've also decided to change Krawkzei's petpet and petpetpet. Recently, I hit 40 BC trophies on my permanent pets, which made me happy. And, uhhhh. Oh, right. I'll be gone for most of the month of June on a trip, so that will be fun! I took my userlookups down for the time being. I also updated some of these other personal pages... And yeah. : D

5.14 More minor updates.

5.01 I made some minor updates to the page. On a side note, Sir Ridder Lord Veth has a brand new petpet and petpetpet. I got some avatars recently (Rubbish and Wise Old King)! That made me happy. I also reserved a site host for a super secret project that everyone should be excited about (-coughpremadescough-). Also, Wispmother found a new owner with Owlie! Alas, her main accounts were iced shortly before the deadline, so Wispmother was GUPed and transfered to her new account. Shuffled some pets around with my transfers so that some of the pets Squasha has been holding get time on my accounts. I have one pet ready to go into the BC for next week, too, which will be fun. And, erm, yeah. Boring updates. Though some were exciting for me.

4.27 Vuh now has a shiny new petpet and petpetpet that match his design more. I'm also officially announcing that I will soon be working on an application for a gorgeous UC Tyrannian Lenny. There was also a minor wishlist upgrade.

4.26 Hooray for two golds! On a side note, Brahman is now crosspainted. I'm super happy that he's finally a gorgeous and crosspainted Kougra. I just need Pirate clothes for him now!

I have recently graduated from a major university with degrees in Psychology and Russian and Eastern European Studies. I plan to pursue a career in Positive Psychology after finishing some gruelling years of graduate school, but am currently taking a year off before getting a Masters from a top American University.

My dream is to become a well-known author, but, knowing how unlikely this is, I have more reasonable career goals. My love of writing inspires hundreds of characters not in my main story arc, and these often are edited to become characters on Neopets (not to mention that I tend to seek pets with names from my manuscript, such as three of the four pets on my main account and several on my sides).

On a lighter note, I enjoy travelling, long walks on the beach, annoying Ninth via the sending hundreds of texts (daily), writing, and coding (oddly enough). I happen to own two birds (a demonic budgie parakeet that constantly plots my demise and a kind mustached parakeet that adores all forms of life), and rumor has it that I live in a cardboard box equipped with WiFi.

In the mystical realms of Neopia, I spend most of my time either working on my pets, wreaking havoc on the Pound chat in the form of chatting, making boards, or hosting discussions, running my sites, or staring lovingly at my squid collection. I also happen to be a Neopound site admin. I am perhaps best known for my discussion boards; alas, the inspiration for them has left me over the past few months. I spend a lot of time on my side accounts, preferring to chat on them than my main due to the lack of Neomails being mailed to them and the fact that I am always running Habitarium on another laptop off of my main account. I am an active player and enjoy working on my characters, earning trophies (both for my account, where I have over three rows of game trophies, and over a dozen Beauty Contest placings), obsessing over Bilge Dice (I will obtain that avatar one day), and collecting random objects for one of my five themed galleries. I also collaborate with my friend Ninth for a Neopian Times comic strip amply named The Kadventures of Ninth and Olly.

There is no denying that I was frozen once, back in October of 2009, due to TNT's overreaction to a kind donation that a Neopian gave me (and the method that that not-so-kind Neopian used to obtain the Neopoints, though TNT appears not to care that I was unaware).

Currently, I am in a site-making kick instead of a petpage-making one, particularly because I have yet to draw any art that I feel comfortable coding petpages around. I am also working on several major pieces of art for my pets, alternating depending on my mood. Alas, I am a slow artist, and this shows when one examines my recent art produced. I am improving, slowly, but often takes months on serious pieces, and out of these I plan to produce petpages.

Oh, and by the way, I may or may not take full credit for both the Squid attacking Krawk Island and the Squid items in MME9, seeing as I spammed the editorial daily for well over three months asking for more Squid. Though it probably was not just me, I would like to feed my ego by claiming that I made a contribution.

Please keep in mind that all of my accounts begin with zeros and not with uppercase o's. This is a common misconception which leads to a surprising amount of trouble.

0llyness (main account) is where I earn NP and also where my massive closet is located. It has a lab ray and is also the home of my customization dolls, favorite names, and pets undergoing training. My closet is massive and I enjoy collecting trophies. It is often online on my other laptop with Habitarium running.

0llykins (chatting account) is probably my most active side account, in part because I adore the username and in part because adore the names held on there. The pets there are all rather well named in my opinion. It has the second largest collection of Neocash in my accounts. If we ever get more slots I will shuffle my pets to make this my awesome names account.

0llytastic (lab account) is home to my villanous characters - villains are simply more fun. At the moment, Alexandr is undergoing lab treatment, but he will be my last lab rat on this account unless we get more slots.

0llylicious (side account) is a side account devoted to the first plotline which I ever created for my pets, The Tragedy. Sadly, the Tragedy is now inactive, but the pets remain pets that had been wronged in some manner. These days, due to space constraints, this side has evolved to house all of my pets that have been wronged and seek vengeance of sort.

0llypets (hermit account) tends to be my go-to side for two reasons: either to avoid everybody and actually be productive, or to whip out one of my higher end UCs if a board requires it. It houses some of my rarest pets.

My close real life friend squasha302 kindly agrees to hold pets for me until TNT allows us to have even more slots. It will happen. One day. Hopefully soon.

When I first joined Neopia, I, like so many others, had dream pets. Over time, I accomplished them, but as I did so, I found more that I desired. Now I am left with only one of my original set. That being said, if you have one of these lying around, I'll gladly take it off of your hands. Or you can just let me know that there is one up for adoption.

Unconverted Plushie Quiggle Because there are only two I know of on active accounts, I belive that this dream is truly impossible. This Quiggle might seem like just a simple plushie, but he's seen more it seems. He will be present in all of the other plotlines, watching, but will not be pleased with what he sees.

I am currently undergoing the long process of trading up through the ranks of UCs to obtain a Quiggle. Well, to be quite honest, a friend of mine that actually enjoys trading is currently trading up from a pet I used to own to obtain a pet near the value of the Quiggle, since my previous trading attempts seem to have always involved me giving up and getting a pet one of my friends wanted instead.

However, there is another UC I would love to own. I have always adored Unconverted Faerie Pteri. I have a design in mind for this wonderful avian creature and would be happy to make an application for this magnificent bird.

Many Neopians are oblivious as to how ridiculous they are - they hide from the rarest form of account compromisation but leave themselves wide open to the easiest and most common methods. This page's purpose is to inform Neopians of the methods which are used to steal their accounts, and also to teach Neopians how to better protect themselves. After all, knowledge is half the battle. This is not a how-to guide, nor is it a page of useless information bashing (or defending) TNT. This is what TNT should be telling us, since my goal is to show that most accounts lost are at the fault of the player and not the administration of the site. Account theft is often preventable, as long as you know the methods, and if it's not preventable, there are measures you can take to ensure that your account will be returned safely.

Hello there, and welcome to my art page. This is a personal page with the simple purpose of showcasing art that I have drawn and am particularly proud of (at least, at the time that it was drawn). I hope to showcase my slow but steady improvement over the years.

All of the art on this page is for my personal use and not free for use. Please keep in mind that I do not take requests, as I am slow at drawing anyway and have an extraordinarily long to-do list for myself.

The art on this page is organized in several sections: Full art is art I drew with the intention of it being an artistic work, character art is art not meant to have a background or anything of the sort due to being drawn for the character, beauty contest art is spam drawn that I actually put some effort into, misc art includes any random thing I have drawn and wish to showcase, and buttons are simply buttons that I have made. What is this page?
This is my Frequently Asked Questions page. Welcome. It will probably remain relatively bare for a while, since I don't quite remember many of the questions that I am frequently asked, but over time I will fill it with things that will allow my inbox to be cleaner.

Can you give me some trading help?
Certainly! Simply drop me a mail. Mind you, I'm not that good at normal converted values...

Do you take requests?
No, sorry, for several reasons. I am slow enough at drawing my own pets and very self-conscious about my art. Because of this, I am reluctant to take art requests. Coding, on the other hand, takes me forever to make, and since I am planning on making a premades page eventually I am not going to make custom codes. In general, I am very busy in real life and thus cannot devote much time for completing requests.

Pet-related

Is ____ UFT/UFA? and/or Will you gift me / trade me / foster me ____?
Unless it states so on their userlookup or I offer on your pet, the answer is no. I do not feel the need to put statements such as Never UFT/UFA on my permanent pets' lookups, so unless you see they are UFT/UFA, please assume that they are not. Granted, random offers do not annoy me, but I will not be swayed by them.

How do you have so many pets?
I have a main account with premium and four side accounts, as allowed, and all of them are full of pets. However, in addition to this, I have wonderful friends that are willing to hold onto my permanent pets for me, update their pages, move them whenever I choose, and such. I eagerly await the day that TNT will provide more slots for us, since I do miss the pets that I cannot fit and wish that I could spoil all of my pets on my accounts.

Why do you have so many pets?
I adore my pets for several reasons, and, though it might be difficult to believe, actually resist having as many pets as I would like. You see, I primarily have my current pets for three reasons - their names, their "type", and sentimentality. I adore many of the unconverted pets that I own because of how they appear, whereas each of my converted pets has a name that is sentimental for me. The only exception to this is Ziqil, but he is sentimental for account-related reasons. Because of this, I find downsizing incredibly difficult; UCs are uncreatable, whereas names are entirely unique. Furthermore, I absolutely adore crosspaints and customizing, so I have no regrets in owning converted pets and am not value driven.

Why are your pets not worked on?
I would argue to the contrary, that they are worked on. I confess than I am incredibly slow, but this does not mean that I do not work on my pets. Most of them have some combination of designs, customizations, petpets/p3s, trophies, petlookups, and/or some semblence of petpages. I never claim to be quick, nor do I have much of a desire to rush my work. However, to answer the question of why I am slow, I have many real-life hobbies and responsibilities, an active social life, educational commitments, and other aspects of Neopia that I enjoy.

What are/were your dream pets?
I had four initial dream pets: Halloween/Royalboy/Magma Krawk crosspaint, UC Plushie Grundo, UC Ice Bruce, and UC Tyrannian Krawk. I am lucky that I have obtained all of these at one point or another - Ziqil was a gift for the Krawk goal, I briefly owned the perfect UC Plushie Grundo but returned her when requested, after several lucky trades I obtained a UC Ice Bruce, and a friend traded for the first UC Tyrannian Krawk that I had ever seen (thus letting me own the exact Krawk that made me love them). My second row of dream pets would include a UC Plushie Quiggle (one day...), UC Halloween Lupe (obtained), UC Darigan Lupe (obtained), and UC Faerie Xweetok (obtained). Finally, I would also adore a UC Tyrannian Lenny (obtained) and a UC Faerie Pteri

How did you obtain your pets?
Because I have a ton of pets, this question might be a bit long to answer. If you are curious, however, simply visit my Character Page and you can find the answers there.

What is your favorite crosspaint?
Oooh, that's difficult. I would probably have to say Vere's though; I think it simply goes together so well. However, I do adore all of my crosspaints.

Coding-Related

Can I use your coding?
No. Unless otherwise stated, my coding is not free for use. By the way, taking my coding without permission counts as stealing in any situation, including even if you leave credit.

Why is coding theft such a big deal?
Coding is a language, much like English, Spanish, Russian, and so many others. When one writes a code for something, they are, in essence, writing a literary work of art. Stealing coding thus becomes akin to plagiarism because you are stealing something that I wrote, like a poem or a novel. Most associations consider plagiarism when more than three words are stolen, and like-wise taking snippets of coding still counts as theft.

Will you teach me how to code?
No, sorry; I hardly have enough time to. However, I can tell you how I learned to code! Playing around with other people's coding (with permission; premades are a good spot for this) provides you with a valuable base for how coding works. W3Schools and on-site guides are also great resources. Learn by doing - play around with codes until you understand them, and then make your own!

Why don't your codes work in Internet Explorer?
Because that browser does not exist. Period. We shall not discuss it again.

Are you ever going to make premades?
Yes. One day. You can anxiously stalk for them here.

Art-Related

What program do you use to draw?
I use Photoshop CS6 to draw and highly recommend it to everybody. The best thing about it, in my opinion, is the autorecover. As an input device, I use a Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet.

You have such wonderful art, as seen in the Kadventures and on your pages and lookups!
I really appreciate the compliment! However, much of the art used on my pages is not drawn by me, but instead by my wonderful friends (who are all conveniently more talented than I). If you hover over the pieces of art, you can see who they are credited to.

Site-Related

How do you come up with the ideas for your sites?
Generally, I create sites that I would like for others to create. For example, I craved a crosspainted pet directory to list all of my crosspaints at, but nobody had one, so I ended up creating it myself. Many of my sites are catered toward specific publics, typically those with interests similar to whichever interest of mine spurred the creation of the site. I have many other sites in mind right now which I would like to create but fear a lack of time and/or sitehosts. I can only fit so many sites on one sitehost before going insane.

Is it possible to win Tic Tac Toe?
Yes. I promise. It really is. I know the logic behind people claiming that it is not possible but promise you that it really really really is.

Kadventure-Related

How did the Kadventures get started?
My 'fursona' for a long time was a shiny mew in a cape, crown, and caution tape. When Ninth was kadding, she decided to draw me as a Kad. I loved this image, so I mentioned that we could turn them into a comic strip, and it all went from there. We draw inspiration from our own Neopian experiences, along with how we think Neopia would be if it were a real place.

Can I use Ollykad and Ninthkad in my NT comic?
Though we both appreciate fan art, Ninth and I have decided against this. Because Ollykad and Ninthkad are representations of ourselves, we would hate for them to do something entirely out of character. Furthermore, this is Ninth's call and not mine, so feel free to send such requests to her.

What exactly do you do for the Kadventures?
I inspired their entire existence and provide ideas for future Kadventures. More importantly, however, I nag Ninth to actually work on them and get them done (which is the most difficult part).

Misc.

Altador Cup. What team?
Moltara. Always. It's simply the most awesome and fun team there is, plus you get to party in the hottest places.

How did your squid obsession start?
I have always thought that calamari was delicious, but a teacher of mine in high school adored squid and informed me of some aspects of their awesomeness. Afterwards, I did my own research, and discovered how absolutely amazing squid and other cephalopods really are. If you are interested, I would recommend reading 'Kraken: The Curious, Exciting, and Slightly Disturbing Science of Squid' by Wendy Williams to discover how amazing these creatures are for yourself.
