A new quest at DLR.

Flute167: Read All About It
Welcome to the latest edition of the Virtual Times. This new look
for the newsletter now includes twice the amount of content as the
previous ones, and is easy to maintain, so that means more frequent
updates.
Layout
This new layout, is actually a close replicate of one used a
long time ago, and is based off of the Neopian Times layout. The
images you see for each section header, are mostly found within
different editions of the NT. The layout is pretty basic and
straightforward.
Avvy Page
Need help getting a secret avatar? Or need a new font? Or maybe
even pick up a fake avatar? All that is possible with the new avvy
page coming to the guild. On it you will find every avatar image,
how to get them, avatar fonts, some guild fake avatars, guild fonts,
unreleased avvies, and more.
Since the page is so huge, it will take a while to finish, and when
it is up, to load all of those images. If it is going slow, just
give the page a few minutes to download all of the images. No more
going offsite to find avatar solutions, or waiting weeks for
Sunnyneo to create a font. Some avatars will have multiple fonts,
for those of you who like selection.
FAQ
The FAQ Page is up and updated. I have now included the
entire VMK FAQ into that page. Its style is the same as the ranks
page, but more about that later. You might want to swing by there
for a quick check-up on your VMK Knowledge.
Ranks
The Rank Page is now up. Starting now, you can now increase
your rank in the guild. I will be changing ranks weekly now, so be
patient. Only active members will be ranked up, so be sure to be on
often. What fair would it be to have an inactive player be moved up
three ranks?
That page will tell you what you need to do to increase your rank.
Graphic Page
The Graphic Page will be released soon. After the Avvy Page
is completed, that is the next thing on the To-Do list. On the
graphic page, you will find blogs, userlookups, shop layouts,
shields, fun images, banners, backgrounds, and more!
Also on the page will be sound/music codes.
Guild Layout
The guild layout has received a new layout again. This one
is different, and brighter than the rest. Check it out. (I don't
know how you couldn't...)
Yavn Still Hasn't Updated
Still no new update in Yavn's part of the VMK
Newsletter. What has happened to him?
New Board Rule
Yes, there is a new board rule. No messages can be
shorter than Five words. The only exception to this rule is
if your post is a question. Or, if you post is a response
(Answering) a question. This is to cut down on spam
messages. Also, keep all of your posts VMK, Disney, or
Neopets related.
Hiatus
Yes, I have decided to take a little break. I will be on
hiatus from Saturday - Thursday. I will be back on Neopets and VMK
either Friday or Saturday, so about a week-long break.
The newsletter, and guild layout have been updated today, because
when I log off for today, I'm gone for the week.
I will still be lurking around the boards, though. And even if I
miss a post or something, Firetrainer may be able to bring his
laptop when he leaves for his vacation. Don't think you can act up
on the boards without getting caught, Fire and I will still be
monitoring.
If something does come up on the board, no action will be taken
until my hiatus is officially over. If I did do something, I would
have to put in effort, and that is what a hiatus is for, doing
nothing.
Have fun while I'm away on hiatus. When I get back, I am going to
work on Issue 19, and tell you about what I did on hiatus, or better
yet, what I DIDN'T do.

Firetrainer144's Rundown
Hello everyone, I'm back. Sorry I couldn't write my segment last
time, things came up and I didn't have enough time. This week in my
rundown I will be talking about the new VMK Communicator, Nemo
Communicator, Pirate Codes, and much more!
VMK Communicator
So VMK just released this Communicator and it is suppose to give you
instant updates as soon as they are released. In my opinion it is
good for Push's Trash Trivia, Dear Yeti, and such but it isn't that
useful because Yavn doesn't update his column.
When VMK updated the layout to this one, Yavn promised he would have
a new Yavn Speaks every Monday. Apparently he broke that promised a
couple months ago. Some say he is just busy, but I say he is a big
procrastinator. Sure I am getting off topic from the VMK
Communicator, but we as VMKers need to know what is going on in Our
Kingdom.
Nemo Communicator
Personally I really don't like the Finding Nemo Communicator. The
only thing that it is good for is to get the 2 parts of the
Submarine and the Nemo Pin. Everything else on it is useless.
Honestly, who wants fish swimming around their desktop screen, my
desktop wall paper is a field of roses (not really), fish do not
belong out of water. And the rest of it is just wallpaper and
screensavers. The worst part of it is that you don't even get the
middle part of the Submarine, you have to go to Disneyland and do a
quest. When you get there, they tell you you they ran out of quest
cards, so then you came all the way to Disneyland for nothing.
Pirate Codes
Ok, so some of the guild members have been asking about the Skull
Rock pirate room codes. Well unfortunately, VMK does not give out
codes anymore from the game. I have been searching around and been
finding little lists of codes I have made. I have tried using the
codes, some work and some don't. I don't have any pirate codes that
work right now, but I will keep looking. But in the meantime while I
try to find them, I have about 80 Narnia Codes unused. If you would
like some you can neomail me.
Avatar Page
Flute made the Avvy Page and started to put in the Avatars and their
titles. It is my job to tell how you get the Avatar. I have to type
everything in my own words, and find hyperlinks to pets for the ones
who require them. It is not as easy as it looks. I have almost
gotten 50 done (which isn't a lot). If I try and do about 30 a day it
should be done in no time at all (I doubt that). This will all be
worth it when its done.
My Hiatus
My vacation is coming up really fast and I can not wait. Flute's
hiatus begins this Saturday and mine begins on Sunday. I will
monitor the guild on Saturday when Flute leaves, but I can't when I
leave. I might be able to bring my laptop on hiatus so I can keep up
with the guild and VMK. It is like even though me and Flute are not
there, we are still watching you. Other Stuff
I have not gotten around to making more Glitter VMK Cards for the
Glitter Page, I will work on that when I get a free moment. My Blog
is not yet up, I have not gotten around to that yet either.
Referring
back to last time in my column, Yavn has not updated, maybe some of
my theories have happened to him again (jk).

Gameroom Challenge
Ever thought that you are better than your guild leader in the
gameroom? Here's your chance.
Every week or so, a new gameroom challenge will be posted on the
guild board. In that post, there will be the name of the game, and
the score you need to beat.
This week's Gamroom Challenge is:
Game: Ultimate Bullseye
Score To Beat: 95
Game Info: Ultimate Bullseye:
At last, Bullseye is back!!! You have ten shots to try and hit the
bullseye in this medieval game of skill and timing! Use the up and
down arrow keys to move the crossbow, keep the Space Bar
down to build up power, and then release it to fire. If you manage
to get a bullseye on the last shot, you can keep on firing until you
miss! Lastly, if you get a Bullseye you get a cool power-up to use
for the next shot :) Good luck!

Game: Turmac Roll
Score: 717
Game Info: If a Turmac eats a lot, it can grow up to be
big and strong (maybe even as big as the Turmaculus one day!) Guide
your little Turmac using the arrow keys and collect as many
berries as possible without hitting anything!

Don't Steal...
Ever come across a page or some graphics that you really like. And
you want to use them? Think again. If they are made for everyone to
use, that is fine, but if somewhere it says on the page, or on a
page that is linked to the graphics that all images, content,
layout, CSS, HTML, etc is (c) whoever, or a mixture of the above,
you shouldn't take it.
The same is true for guild pages. All the guild pages are coded from
scratch. If you really like the layout used, use HTML and CSS in a
different way, but have the effect the same. Instead of a table, try
positioning with the DIV tag. Or vice-versa. Do NOT steal, borrow,
take, copy, etc ANY coding, layouts, content, HTML, CSS, etc from
guild pages. EVER!
Some of the content you see on the guild pages are taken from the
VMK Website, but it is only text, etc. This is okay to do. It is not
like we took the whole website. What we take is solely for the
helping or referent for us, or fellow members.
Don't end up being a Pant Devil. Don't take what isn't yours. |
WARNING! New Guild Board Rule
While reading the guild board, you will come across a post that is
repeated every week? What makes this post so important, you may ask?
It actually tells about the guild board rules. If you ever need to
refer to a copy of this post, either look below (for only a few
issues) or go to our webbie under the "Guild Board Rules" section.
When you post a message that violates
one of our board rules, it will most likely just be deleted.
But, if you do it again and again, don't just think that
they will keep getting deleted.
From now on, we're playing three strikes. If you break a
rule three times, or three different rules you will be sent
a neomail saying what you did wrong, and a ban/block from
the guild.
We want our guild board nice and clean.
This rule is already in effect. This message will be posted
once every week or more as a reminder.
For a complete list of guild rules, see our webbie. The full
version of our Guild Board Rules is currently being written.
If you think this is harsh, fine. But when you get suspended
from the guild for a few days, I told you so.
Council Members, please report any guild rule infractions to
me immediately. Monitor our boards and report any problems
to me at once. It's time to get serious.
Do not think that this limits what you can talk about or
what you can do, this is just to set the rules into motion
and to keep our board clean. |

Avvy Page
Bored of the same old avatar? Only have the default ones, and dream
of having the avatars only few have? Now you can!
With the guild avvy page, you can view every avatar image, find out
how to get them, get fonts for them, get guild fake avatars, and
MUCH More!
It is really something that you should check out. It is updated as
soon as a new avatar is released, and when the solution is
discovered. Plus the font is made with 48 hours of the avatar
release.
The page contains over 400 avatars, that many fonts, plus some cool
things.
The avvy page will make its debut in the middle of August, and it
will probably be the best guide there is.
The avvy page describes how to get the avatars in a simple and clear
voice, making it easy to understand.

Super Summer Splash
You may be there sitting, thinking to yourself, what is
Super Summer Splash? Well, Super Summer Splash is
new activity in the guild.
Every week, come back and check out this part of the
newsletter. For the entire summer, a new activity will be
announced, every week! By doing the activity, you can
earn U.I. Points, SSS Points, Higher Ranks in the guild, AND
MUCH MORE.
The first activity will be to: Design a new magic. The magic
page, if it is not up already, will be put up very soon.
Those are just examples, don't go making the same magic, or
different versions of them.
All winning magics will be put on the magic page and will be
displayed on the front of the guild. Plus, I will take the
magic and create the pin for it, and use that as our new
logo.

Guild Mall
Have a shop and want to become part of a mall, but your shop is big
enough to fit the requirements? Now, the guild has its own mall. All
members are welcome to join. Why should you join? Simple, really.
Becoming part of our mall is good for the guild and your shop. As
part of the mall, your shop will see increase in customers, and with
more customers means more sales. As part of the mall, though, you
also have to give back to the guild.
Each month, there is a small donation needed. These donations are
used to advertise the mall and our guild on the Notice Board. Only
8% of your total sales is taken. If you made 10,000 neopoints, you
would need to give back only 800 neopoints. To donate is simple;
just keep track of how much you made through your shop, send a
neomail to Flute167 with that total, and then buy the item from his
shop that matches that price. You'll receive a neomail saying which
item you need to buy, and how much.
If you want to find out how much you need to donate by yourself,
here is an easy formula: S * .08 = T
S= Total Sales from the Month
T= Total donation
If you don't want to think about this as a donation, say it is a
"tax. |
BD Challenge
Itching for a fight? PrincyPrincy33 is ready to engage in the
battledome. Want to fight him? Prove that your pets are better than
the leader's? But there are a few requirements, though:
HP: Less than 18
Strength: Less than Great (45)
Defence: Less than Great (45)
Level: Less than 32
Your pet must fit the guidelines above to be eligible to fight my
pet. Abilities, movement, age, and intelligence do not matter.
You weapons that your pet is equipped with CAN NOT be any freezing,
stealing or poisonous weapon. PrincyPrincy33 doesn't like getting
sick, and I won't be using ANY freezing item or stealing item.

The fire is blazing, the tree is decorated, the turkey is cooking in
