And even though we are technically finished here, I'll be going through eventually and working with/editing things because of Unclearly's developing character, as well as to keep content fresh (since some of it was created more than a year ago, like the layout, for instance).

The night is old as you step out into the forest. Fireflies were dancing about in the night sky, going about their business. Though you try to approach them calmly, they slip away into the thickness of trees, blinking their stories to each other.
After a while of wandering (since you don't know quite why you were in the forest to begin with), you come across a lake, silent except for the occasional cricket chirp, or the whooping sound of a nearby bird. The lake was deep in hue, almost as if it was a realm of black, swirling mists. Deciding to let curiosity get the best of you, you come up to the lake's edge. The mosses covering the soft, stringy grass simply added to the mysterious mood of this lonely pool.
What... What? There appeared to be... orbs? No. Maybe. Hmm... Whatever they were, they drifted about in the fog, pulsing with a soothing white light. The strangest part about them was that no all were orbs. Some were sparkling stars, bubble-like, floating in the lake as well. Then the shocker: The orbs were converting into stars! You've seen them with your very eyes! Taken back from the surprising event, you have a sudden urge to get out of here. Anywhere but here... And then you knew why your gut feeling was admonishing you so.
A black mist came out of the lake (even though the water already seemed misty), and rose up in a giant steam cloud. It was cold, and yet, strangely humid at the same time. Then, as loud as a freight train, there was a sound:
Whoooooooooossshhhh!!!!!
a great wind blasted up at you; all you could do was shield your eyes with the slightest weakness so that you could still see what was happening. A roar of water blasted your eardrums, and, in the same fashion as a cavern collapsing in on itself, liquid of a celestial aura arched over the lake like angel wings, and slammed down with extreme force. Water pegged your face like needles because of your state of being unguarded. You stop and simply curl up into a ball on the mushy earth, waiting for it to end. What did you get yourself into? What was going to happen to you? Thoughts raced in you mind like they never had before.
But, less than thirty seconds after this fateful encounter, all was quiet. You glance up, shaking. The lake was now a lake full of deep navy water, and all the fog was simply gone. You stare in awe at the miracle of nature that you had been special enough to see.
You now come here whenever you can, usually three to five times a week, to see this wondrous cycle from mist to water- from star to orb. After a few weeks of visiting, you were quite prepared for the impact blast, and so you could see what was actually happening.

One time, you see a glowing yellow lantern-like light. Intrigued, you edge closer. Sure enough, the lantern-light was drifting about at a faster pace than the orbs or stars. It did not convert with everything else.

Name: Unclearly
Nickname: ---
Age: He comes and goes, you know; so technically he's been around a loooong while, but the time he's actually been on Earth is around 26 years.
Gender: Male
Clan: Lune Shui
Personality: Calm, Gentleman, Intelligent, Easily Frightened
Inclination: Practical
Alignment: Neutral Good
Roleplay: Unclearly is rather difficult to roleplay because of his peculiar optical abilities. He's never actually seen something... uh, *hard to explain* he kind of sees the object's aura and energy and determines things from that. In other words, in order for him to do things correctly, some body language/emotion may to be shown to give me an idea of how your xwee may be feeling at the time... HE NEEDS FOLKS WHO USE GOOD CHARACTER DESCRIPTION. Otherwise, I'll get bored and slow my responses, because I can't respond to anything, and I may just stop responding altogether if you keep it up. Also, Unclearly must be roleplayed by water. You should know why if you've read this page. Other than that, roleplay with Unclearly is Open.
Other: His sight is impaired so that he can see only what auras another gives off.

Unclearly has the same markings on both sides of his body.

1. Start with outlining the shape you want the lightning effect to take up in the colors of the marking, be it the yellow paws, white-to-blue belly/back, or, as I have chosen in this tutorial, the greens covering majority of Unclearly's body.
2. Fill the outlines in with the appropriate color.
3. Start adding random dots and jagged scribbles of one color to the one DIRECTLY BEFORE OR AFTER IT. Do not fade the light green into the darkest green, etc.
4. Now use the middle color(s). Fade them into the color after it AS WELL as the one before it, to give it an equal amount of space/make up for what it lost for being covered with a different color. Do this for the outermost shade as well.
5. Don't forget to spread the outermost color to Unclearly's actual pelt.
6. Add some of the navy to the outermost color to make up for what it lost.
You're done!

1. Start with outlining the shape you want the lightning effect to take up in the colors of the marking, which, in this particular marking, are the greens.
2. Fill the outlines in with the appropriate color.
3. Add ALL PARTS of the Basic Lightning Effect (see above).
4. As well as adding the navy to the darkest green, you have to do something else, too. Using the navy, add streaks curving into the center to make the parted effect easily.
You're done!

Unclearly is, despite his flashy appearance, very timid and gentle, trying his best to help anyone in need of it. Accenting this is the fact that he has a naturally soft, calm voice that never wavers unless he feels very emotional about the particular subject; he will only yell if it is required in dire times. Some (males in particular) may find him a bit unemotional at first, as well as weak in physical nature, but neither assumptions are true. He simply keeps a high "wall" about his inner thoughts and behaviors, and, if he senses any form of threat, will not be likely to reveal them. However, he shows a softer side to females for no other reason than his past. He'll always be there to protect them, which he tends to do quite a bit, since many a creature are attracted to his domain by the celestial lights adorning his habitat as well as himself.
If for any reason one can get past his barrier of memories and befriend him (he is not the most immediate trusting of folk), their friendship would never falter under Unclearly's doing. He may even seek them out, causing him to wander away from his only source of home (which he already rarely leaves) just to share a joke and a few words and plan a future get-together if the relationship is strong enough.
Unclearly generally has a lack of initial trust to almost anyone. He's often quite the worrywart, as well, and beats himself up over the slightest mistakes. He dwells heavily on the past, and things he should have changed, even if he couldn't have at the given time.
Unclearly prefers the depths of the lake in the daytime, and is commonly found at night, body illuminated, leaping and soaring in the sky above his abode. You'll most likely only catch him after the evening twilight on a regular day.

Unclearly's magical powers are limited. In the form of offense, he really has none, unless they are adapted from his all-important defense.
His primary magical works are always related to defense. Unclearly can manipulate the water of his lake to form a hollow, air-filled tunnel for helping others escape what might be troubling them. It turns into their temporary home if they need it. Usually Unclearly tends to get them out of his magical realm quickly for his own reasons... if it's secret, it's safe. This form of magic takes a minute or two to get working right, but doesn't really drain him of his energy at all.
He can also use either the water or a star's light to form a shield around himself or others. Depending on the attack and the shield's size, this can be quite draining.
A mysterious part of the Underwater Sky Realm's lake water is that, probably because of his past, it seems to recognize him as its guardian (as it is what he is, anyway), and will involuntarily form a hardened barrier of roaring water around him if he doesn't know he is being attacked. There is also the possibility that it will force him underwater to prevent attack- which could harm him if he didn't have lungs full of air at the time. The water can also involuntarily fight back, whipping at opponents and shooting orbs/stars in random directions. This is Unclearly's only form of magical offense.
The most intoxicating of all of Unclearly's powers is what comes naturally to him- his sight. Unclearly doesn't see objects the way you and I do. He sees their aura, if you will. For example, if you see the petals and stem of a flower, Unclearly sees the activities inside the flower- its energy and essence as a whole. It can be quite confusing, but it allows him to predict how others are feeling and what they might do next.
Other than that, all of Unclearly's "powers" are physical, which he could accomplish with ease. He's larger than most creatures, and quite strong as well- but he doesn't like violence, so no one can really depend on him in that sense.

When the time comes for a spirit to pass on, it chooses when it will come back to the world they served as a mortal; their time watching us has expired. It's an exchange sort of thing, really :
When a creature passes on, it had the chance of taking the place of a spirit in the same condition, where life would continue.
I am a spirit from long ago, who was reincarnated. However, a loophole in the time of the ancients had occurred, causing my soul to be thrust into a new body too soon. This event also happened to a fellow colleague who expired around the same time as me.
The kit I had turned into was premature and had no mother or father (I would have been born naturally at the time I was supposed to reincarnate). I simply was, clinging tightly with my weak body to my friend. She was in just the same condition I was.
The spirits from above noticed our misfortune and came to our aid after a few days, which was immediately in their time. ... To accomplish this, they had to give up their immortality and come to Earth as mortals.
But we had grown famished, parched, and barely able to breathe by the time their legs had reached us. They took every magical measure they knew to keep us alive, but through involuntary spasms and whimpering, our chances of survival were looking slim.
Over the days they were with us, two beings from an ethereal division were there the most for us, like our parents. It was through them that we managed to pull through; their kind faces and persistence was just enough. However, we were still very weak, just not at a high risk of... leaving this world.

Our "parents" had grown to love us just like the real ones. Because there was no way we could manage on our own, obviously, the four of them decided to split us up into two separate families, since no one was directly related to another. They abandoned their posts as spirits and took care of us as normal children should be. We lived in a watery area (I don't know exactly where we were. It could have been a world of mirages that they set up for us), with trees, oddly twisted and dangling orbs of light from their slender, ethereal branches. I never knew that they weren't normal. I saw them every day.
When it was time to name us, they simply browsed our minds and found our spiritual one. I then recaptured my memories, growing as I did, when I reclaimed my name: Unclearly. My friend caught hers as well.
My "parents" soon discovered there was something going on with my vision; It wasn't normal that I could walk up to them as a child and immediately sense their actions and emotions. They were positive of it when they had gotten into an argument as I lay asleep one night. When they had sorted things out, they came to check on me. Apparently (I don't remember) I was huddled in a corner, my body glowing brightly, in tears. I couldn't tell them why. I simply continued to cry, letting out their emotions. It was from then on that they knew, I suppose. She apparently had the same kind of vision as I. She could detect it with her elegant, flowing wings as well.

The two families spent many a time together, and basically, we were only raised with each other and the flora around us. I spent countless evenings swimming in the nearby lake with her.
I guess it could be said that I had a rather normal childhood, despite my interesting entrance. After we grew into older, responsible "teens", our parents left us to return to their positions in the heavens. It was then everything that we didn't know was explained to us about what our past lives were. Our goodbyes were extraordinarily painful, and tears continued down our faces many nights afterward.
We had grown into responsible young adults, taking care of the shelters that had been left for us. Our lives marched on with unexpected adventures, and we never felt alone. We had our childhood friend nearby whenever we needed it.
As I reached my juvenile ages, I have to admit I started to feel a different kind of fondness whenever her
gentle aura came into view. I suppose she began to feel the same way, as evenings at the lake became unnaturally quiet and occasionally spontaneous. I still can't find the words to describe it.

One time at the full moon's turn, we were stargazing together at the lake's edge; they never ceased to amaze us. It was when the lake went into its first visible movement.
As the water roared and crashed down, I covered her and braced for any impact. To our surprise, out curious eyes had fallen a gaze at the celestial aura of stars. The water had gone. Consternation forced us back to our homes. When the same thing happened the following night, we were prepared. This time, we didn't take it as a threat and she shoved me in with a giggle, following moments later. Dazzled, I flew, inspecting everything. She hovered, darting this way and that, taking in the new experience.
It was there that we set up our new home, getting used to the change of water to air. We decided that it offered more protection, was our excuse. In all reality, we simply wanted to live there. And we had a happy life in the "Underwater Sky Realm", as she would call it.
A while later, we were having the best of times. It was quiet, the air only filled with her bell-like laughter as we took it upon ourselves to ride the lake as it changed from water to sky. We were thrust into the air, floating on the waves, holding onto each other as we went through the thrill of it all. We plummeted into the sky below us, sopping wet and smiling. As we began to retire to home, her "mother" appeared out of nowhere, requesting to speak to her privately after complimenting us on "how much we've grown" and "how striking we had become".
She returned about fifteen minutes later with tears streaming down her face. She collapsed into me, shaking.
I simply couldn't understand. I had a backlash of my own when I was told that a spirit from above, her "father", had expired, and he required a replacement desperately- -one that couldn't leave their post. His last wish was to appoint her to the position.
Simply put: She had twenty four hours before she was forced into the spirit world, regardless of what she wanted.
We spent the last day doing everything we could possibly think of before they came back to fetch her away.
When they did, her body began to glow white, and she was terrified. "I don't want to go! I DON'T WANT TO GO!!!" she wailed, clinging to me. We had to have shared enough tears that night to fill the lake before us. And as she faded into the night sky, she whispered, as the delicate form she was changing into rang out, "Look for me...!"
And she was gone.

I'll never know how long I mourned at her absence.
A time later I had gotten over it to the point of behaving a bit more normal again. I soon discovered that there was something new flitting about rapidly in the lake-- a star with no light. From it came shifting orbs and stars that fill up my lake, each having the gentle aura of my long lost friend. And I will continue to protect my treasured memory... no-- the Underwater Sky Realm-- for as long as I live.

Standing all alone one night
I came to realize the difference in my sight.
What am I missing from my eyes
That makes me seek or tell no lies?
What do I have that others don't
To make me see things others won't?
I never think I'll understand
The sight that others have in hand.
To see things as they truly are,
A flower or a single star
Must be a special thing indeed
If others follow when I take lead.
What do you see when a star is viewed?
Brightness? Shimmers? Solitude?
What I view is different, see?
Transformation. Essence. Energy.
I guess this can be quite confusing,
And for some in not the least amusing.
This is why I want to know...
Why does it intrigue me so?
The environment is always changing,
Shifting, churning, rearranging.
It is time fo me to go.
Alas, I guess we'll never know.
~Poem (c) Emily (thepizzaman)

Can I use some of your art?
No. You'll be reported and warned and/or frozen.
Then can I request some of your art?
I don't do art requests, sorry. I have too much to do with my own art than supply yours for you. This includes adoptable requests, art requests, layout requests, etc.
How about a trade?
I'd have to see a sample of your work of the same quality you would trade me before I could make a decision. I also sometimes just don't feel like it. I have the right to refuse an unfair trade (too hard/crazy design or personal reasons).
Can you critique/redline this picture for me?
Sure. I'd be more than willing to redline and crit. Just don't expect anything that wouldn't hurt your feelings if you're proud of it. If you're really proud of something you've done, it'd be best not to ask me to crit it.
What programs do you use?
I use Corel Painter Essentials 3 and 4 for digital work, as well as a Wacom Graphire tablet; for traditional I mainly use pencil, colored pencil (in the form of Prismacolors), and ink.
How long does a picture take for you?
Ah... Well. The shortest full-fledged pictured I've done took about an hour and a half. The longest? Over twenty hours.
May I roleplay with Unclearly?
If you understand how he functions, possibly. I like creating plots, so roleplay would have to be both paragraph form and long-term. Still up for it? Send me a mail.
Can Unclearly be friends with [INSERT NAME HERE]?
We'd have to roleplay first, and even then he doesn't like randomly making friends.
Can Unclearly date [INSERT NAME HERE]?
No.
Can Unclearly be related to [INSERT NAME HERE]?
Normally, probably not. However, through plot, I'm sure we could work something out. You'd have to fly your concept/idea by me first, though! Relatives will probably only be available to friends and the like. Sorry.
Can Unclearly be [INSERT NAME HERE]'s mate?
How would you feel if someone randomly walked up to you and said, "I LOVE YOU. WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Eeew.
How old are you/what grade are you in?
It doesn't matter, now does it?
Why do you like Unlabelled Tin Cans so much?
I just do! They're such an awesome junk item. Everyone should love them. ;D
Can my question be in your FAQ?
Ask away, and I'll put it on here with the answer!

I think this page has earned the right to offer a link patch. Take it. Yus. Take eeeet.
