I do not own any of these images. They are owned by neopets.com. All screenshots are screenshots of things made by neopets.com. I am not claiming I created these images - I am merely showing you them.
And I would also like to add - please, please, please do not use any of these images, without neomailing me first to ask permisson. It took me ages to crop and upload them.
If you would like to practice Yooyuball off-season, go here.
What this Page is About
TopSkip this section
Greetings. I don't know how you stumbled upon my page, but you're here now. Do you want to know what it is? Of course you do. The question is, will I tell you? Okay, okay, I will. This page was created on the 22nd June 2008, during Altador Cup III. The Altador Cup is a tournament that has so far taken place for 3 years. It starts in June and most of the lands of neopia take part. Each land tries to defeat the other lands in a game called Yooyuball. 16 lands take part each year.
Click here to find out what TNT (The Neopets Team) says about it. They explain it far better than I can.
On this page I have put screenshots of Altador Cup III. If you weren't here for any past Altador Cups/can't remember what they were like, you can have a little peek at last year. Please note; (A) There is NO guarantee that there'll be a 4th Altador Cup and (B) NO guarantee the images/game will look last year
So that it won't take to long to load, I've made all the images really small. To see them full-sized you need to click them, then drag them to the address bar.
How TNT Explain The Altador Cup
TopSkip this section
First things first. What is the Altador Cup? I'm rubbish at explaining things, so if you don't know what the Altador Cup is... don't ask me. I'll just give you what TNT says about it and if you want anymore info, ask at the Virtupets Chat.
| The Committee | Tournament Structure | Frequently Asked Questions |
Top
The Altador Cup Committee is a highly respected group of officials who carefully examine all game play, making sure that the rules are strictly adhered to. If anyone feels that an issue pertaining to the Altador Cup tournament needs to be reviewed, a petition can be filed, and the committee will then decide whether or not to rule on the matter.
In the past, matters brought before the Altador Cup Committee have ranged from allegations of biased Yooyus to claims of inappropriate play by tournament team members. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation. Arguments are made, and then the committee votes and settles on an appropriate course of action.
While some might feel that they are too strict, the fact is that the committee's decisions play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the tournament. Though there have been times when popular opinion has been against the committee or one of its decisions, nobody doubts that the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the best interests of the Altador Cup.

The Altador Cup tournament pits 16 teams, representing the lands of Neopia, against each other. Tournament play is "double round robin," which means that each team will play each of the other fifteen competing teams twice.
Each day, your team faces a new opponent, and it is up to you to contribute as much as you can by playing not only Yooyuball, but also Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Your results in each daily match-up, evaluated separately for each of the three games, contribute to your team's overall standing in the tournament. Please remember to help your team win all 3 daily match-ups.
At the conclusion of the double round robin phase, all 16 teams will move on to take part in the four-day finals phase, which will consist of a playoff match-up and a final match-up. Each finals phase match-up lasts for two days. Within each four-team rank grouping (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16), the highest and lowest ranked teams will play against each other, while the second and third ranked teams will also pair off, with the winners of each match-up then facing off for first place of that group, and the losers facing off for third place of that group.
The four leading teams overall will still be in contention for a place on the Altador Cup winners' pedestal, but now, a fourth place team could sneak to the top on two wins, and emerge victorious!
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I change teams after I join?
Q: Do practice scores count?
Q: Why is my team losing in the tournament, even though I win all my games?
Q: How can I tell how my team is performing?
Q: How many scores can I submit?
Q: Do I have to play all three games (Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, Slushie Slinger)?
Q: Will I get a prize for all my effort?
Q: Will I be able to use unused points from previous Altador Cups in the Prize Shop?
A: No. Once you join a team, you will not be able to switch to another team, so please choose carefully.
A: No. After all, they are practice rounds!
A: Each team's participation in the Altador Cup is a group effort. You may feel like you are winning lots of games, but others on your team may not be playing as much, or people on another team may be playing even more.
A: We will post daily results for the Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, and Slushie Slinger match-ups, including the number of wins, losses, and draws.
A: You can play as many times as you like. All the scores you send will count, but make sure you take some time out to eat and sleep!
A: It isn't required, but it's important for your team to win the match-ups across all three games, as all three games contribute to your team's standing in the tournament. If you only choose to play one or two games, you can still earn Prize Shop points and show off your personal stats.
A: If you participate in Altador Cup in any way, you will receive points that you can exchange for prizes in the Prize Shop, which opens at the end of the tournament on July 21st. Of course, the more you participate, the more points you'll earn.
A: No, each year's points are separate, and it is too late to redeem old points from previous Altador Cups now. You'll have to earn new points in this year's Altador Cup instead.

Here's how to play. Once again, this is from last year! The controls and things could be completely different this year.

Option Screens
TopSkip this section
Before you start the game, you have options to choose what side you're going to score, etc
This is the first option screen. Here, you decide which way to shot;
Here, you decide how your team will be layed out (who will be where on the pitch);
And here, you get a comment on the match that you're about to play;

Coming On
TopSkip this section
Before you start the match, you get a cool little animation of players coming onto the pitch :) Here are some screenshots of it;

Yooyuballs
TopSkip this section
After those screens, you'll have a little animation of a yooyuball coming on. The one you get will be the yooyuball you use in the game. Here;
Clockwork Yooyuball;
Darigan Yooyuball;
Faerie Yooyuball;
Fire Yooyuball;
Mutant Yooyuball;
Normal Yooyuball;

Game Play
TopSkip this section
This is what it looks like when you're playing. Underneath this picture is another one with numbers on, so you'll see what everything is.
1: your opponent's team colours.

2: your team colours
3: time left
4: your opponent's score
5: your score
6: the name of your active player
7: your active player. You can tell which player is your active one because the circle around them is white. Your unactive player's circles' are red.
Scoring
TopSkip this section
When you score / your oponent scores, one of these screens will come on;
This one always comes up, and is then followed by one of the others below;
In this one, the ball will change colour depending on what ball type you were playing with, and the players will change depending on (A) Who you're playing aginst (B) What team you're on (C) Which teamed scored the goal and (D) Which of their players scored
Here are some other versions of the same one;
This one only comes up if your opponent scores. It comes with a background noise of boing
This one can come up no matter who scores, and it is always the same

End
TopSkip this section
When the 3 minutes is up, this screen comes on;
After that you are taken to this screen;
There you see the scores for that match, and you decide whether to submit the score, or try for a higher one. It's best not to submit a score unless you've won.

Slushie Slinger
TopSkip this section
During the Altador Cup, if you don't like Yooyuball, there are two other games that you can play: Slushie Sling (SS) and Make Some Noise (MSN). Here are the screen shots and things for Slushie Slinger, and you can find the screen shots for Make Some Noise here.
Before we start, I'd better explain what SS is. Since I'm not good at explaining things, I'll (once again) leave it to TNT;
Okay, now this is what the Main Menu looks like;
This is what the game looks when you're playing it;
And I've taken a screenshot that has 3 different customers asking for the three different slushies, and matched them up to the correct slushie machine;
When you lose all 5 lives, this screen comes up;
If you submit your points, you'll get this screen;

Make Some Noise
TopSkip this section
Again, I'm rubbish at explaining things, so here's the instructions;
The loading screen is the same as the Yooyuball one. This is what the homepage looks like;
This is what the game looks like;
And here is the same picture, except it's numbered, so I can explain to you what everything is;
1 : these are the keys you have to press. They change for each game, so pay attention!

2 : this is your meter. The further to the right the arrow is, the better.
3 : this is how many seconds you have left of the game.
4 : these are your points
5 : this is where bonus keys will appear. If, say, a letter 'F' appeared here, you'd ave to press 'F' before it disappears, then you get extra points
6 : these people all randomly wave their arms, but it doesn't affect the game at all, really.

Prizes
TopSkip this section Of course, being the greedy neopian nation that we are, no one would put much effort in unless they got something out of it. So, what do you get from the Altador Cup? Well, it varies each year. Here are some of the things that were given out at the end of Altador Cup I, II and III.
For all of the item prizes, you buy them with Altador Cup Points at the end of the Altador Cup. You earn these points by playing SS, MSN and Yooyuball a lot.
Okay, everybody who takes part gets an avatar and a site theme;
This is the avatar. It was available in Altador Cup II, III and, I think, I. You get this by visiting the Prize Shop after the games. You can only get it if you took part;

This avatar was not available in Altador Cup I or II. It came out in Altador Cup III, and you got it by getting to Rank 1;

FAQ
TopSkip this Section
What does "FAQ" mean?
How come my colours for the background of SS were different?
Krawk Island! They're bad! You should join my team!
Which team should I join?
Pfft, I bet that you only joined Krawk Island 'cause they're good! Free loader!!
Can we be affiliates?
You made a mistake...
Someone stole a screenshot of yours!
Frequently asked questions
My team is Krawk Island, so my colours are red and black. Yours would've been whatever team you were.
I like Krawk Island because I like pirate neopets. Krawk Island is, and always will be, my team.
That is for you, and you alone, to decide. Maybe think of your favourite colours, and decide by that?
I joined Krawk Island in Altador Cup II, before I knew anything about how good teams were. I didn't even know you could get trophies from it then!
Yes, I'd love to be affiliates! See here for more details!!
D'oh, did I? Please neomail me what the mistake was (whether it be spelling, grammar, incorrect information, or anything else) and which section it was in. Thank you!
Firstly, anyone can take part in the Altador Cup, and I bet I'm not the first one to take screenshots. However, if you think they did steal mine, please neomail me.
